Chapter 8

Ruby felt somebody shaking her gently, causing her to wake up.

"We have arrived little Rose" Michael said standing up.

"Yawn… I am pretty sleepy, can I have some more sleep?"

"Later. I need to see the boss lady and you are the biggest part of why I'm here, so no sleeping now. It's five in the morning and she is waiting for us"

She reluctantly stood up and followed him out of the bullhead reaching the floor of a private landing pad secluded by a small wall. To the sunrise there was a dense city with faunus walking, talking, working and shopping, but the only ones near her were wearing grimm masks with a light weaponry to protect, or scare away unwanted attention.

"Ruby, follow me and don't go somewhere. You can get lost easily here"

They went through the mansion which was full of art pieces and guards protecting it. The wooden floor was clear and polished. Light gray walls and chandeliers hanging above them showing this place belonged to either a rich person or organisation. They stopped in front of the doors and he knocked.

"Come in" a female voice called from behind the doors, causing Michael to open them.

Inside there was a woman without a mask. Her traits consisted of bengal tiger ears and black stripes like tattoos on her dark compression. She was wearing black and red sleeveless outfit while drinking coffee in a cup.

"Sorry for making you come early, but today we will be moving the base of operation to Mistral. The renovation was finally finished. So now what the hell happened that you came here in order to make a report and why is there a child?" Sienna asked Michael, still sitting and sipping coffee.

"Tonight we managed to destroy a slave mine, which hosted one hundred faunus, which a big part of them wanted to join us, due to rescue. No losses on our site and all humans died, due to actions they did there and resistance. Ruby Rose here managed to escape it and in a week travel from fire peak mountain to Mantle, without dying and seek us out. We moved out immediately after acquiring information. She spent three years in that mine and lost a hand, but wants to join us. I refused to let her in telling her that she would need to get a prosthetics arm first and education. She also managed to kill a beowolves and young nevermores easily on her way, due to her semblance. Her mother was a huntress, until she died leaving her alone. She shares a lot of yours views about humans"

"She can stay and I will make sure to find someone to teach her and let her in… In two to three years if she would be ready by that time. Now tell me more about the action and the company that you fought against"

She dozed off on the sofa next to Michael as they talked about the ins and outs of a fast made plan and consequences of it.

Ruby felt somebody shaking her gently, stirring her awake again.

"I'm going back to Atlas. You are staying here with Khan so be a nice girl, since she is fast to anger, but also a gentle woman so don't hesitate to ask her if you need anything. Bye Ruby and sleep well"

She mumbled "Bye Michael" and purred as his hand scratched her head a little. Ruby didn't even remember when she last did that, but decided to enjoy that short moment, before falling asleep.

Ruby did not know for how long she was sleeping, but woke up finding hers head on Khan's thighs, with her hand petting and scratching her head. This whole time she was purring with happiness and comfort.

"Do you have anyone in Kuo Kuana that you wish to visit, see or meet? We are moving out in thirty minutes, but I can always delay it"

"My grandpa is living here. I wish I could see him, but he would want me to go back to Patch and I would not be able to join you and be a hero for our kind, but a cripple wishing to be like a sister".

Sienna accepted her words and thinking for a moment answered "You could always check up on him without being seen. Do you know where he lives and a name?"

"He is living under number thirty seven on main street. Name Jaunus Rose"

"Ok, let's go see him" she stood up and handed her left hand to Ruby, who stood up and took it.

In a moment they found themselves on busy streets of Kuo Kuana as they continued walking until they reached the destination and looked into the window to see only a young pair of faunus living here. Khan gently knocked on the door and when they opened she asked "Do you know what happened to the previous owner of this building?"

The pair, shocked by a leader of white fang visiting them personally gaped at her for a moment before answering "he died of a heart attack three years ago. He got buried in a local cemetery".

"Thank you" she said and turned their back on them leaving the entrance. They then headed to a flower shop, where Sienna bought red roses, which she handed to Ruby saying "You will need this for a grave. Now let's go".

It took them an hour to locate the grave in the cemetery and one call from the leader to move the bullhead leaving for one hour later. Ruby placed the roses on a grave and cried letting Sienna to hug her, who lowered herself on a knee and pushed her head between her breasts to cry freely while trying to calm her down with additional petting on the ears and hair.

Half an hour later Ruby calmed down and Sienna led her outside, back to the mansion, where the bullhead was waiting for them.

Inside the bullhead, Sienna gently forced Ruby's head onto her thighs and resumed petting on her ears, as they flew towards the new white fang base in Anima.

Two hours later they landed and Sienna reluctantly let her go, as she needed to stand up.

"We are here. Our new home, away from civilization" Khan said looking at the castle around her.

Ruby looked around in awe as not only it was big and fortified, but also fully manned by white fang members. She followed the leader inside and stopped at the end of the corridor with her and listened "These are my sleeping quarters if you need someone to cuddle you in sleep and the room behind the door to the left belongs to you"

Khan then proceeded to show her around the bedrooms, while she compared them with her practically empty room containing basic furniture, desk, lamp, school books and bathroom to the personalized room of her boss. Later Sienna showed her around facilities such as gunsmithing, storage, kitchens, 'grunts' sleeping rooms, canteens, throne room, walls and defences, bunker and other things. It was a massive compound with hundreds of faunus inside. After the end of her inspection turned into a tour around the castle she sat on the padded throne and ordered one of her men to bring a man named doctor Damian from the research and development division.

In fifteen minutes the guard was back escorting one of the man without mask with dog ears and said "You called my lady"

"Doctor Damian Links, this is Ruby Rose, your new protege that I told you before. Teach her well and she is living to the left of my quarters. The books should be in her room too".

"Thank you my lady, I always wanted to teach somebody, but was always refused in colleges. May I take her with me and start teaching her?"

"Yes, but remember she is three years behind her peers and definitely not a college material yet".

"I will try my best" he said laughing heartily "Now young miss Rose, come with me".

She was led to a RD division, where he set up a small blackboard and desk for her. He then started checking her knowledge and teaching. Ruby was left handed, so she had no problems with writing, but drawing straight lines using tools caused her a lot of problems, as she could not hold two things at one. With time Ruby continued to gain knowledge and went into more advanced books mostly in biology, weaponry and mechanics works with time going forward and her growing up. She also learned stitching and managed to repair and enlarge her red cloak that was now hanging freely on her back no longer hidden.

Sienna also managed at least once in a week to get a cuddly session, abusing the authority given to her as leader of white fang. Ruby enjoyed it, but was getting more red every time she was pet and scratched.
