Omake: Troublesome Reunion
When I learned of Saber's identity, I would admit…
I was more than a little concerned. At the time, it wasn't because of this specific scenario but looking back, I probably should have been more worried about this occurring than at the prospect of what Saber being around Dragons would mean.
"Shirou-san." Kobayashi begins, sounding more than a little nervous "Can you do something about this?"
"I'm afraid I can't…" I whisper back to her "I'm a little bit worried myself...but I feel like getting inbetween them would be more than a little hazardous to my health."
"Shirou!" She hisses back at me "I'm more than a little bit worried they are going to destroy my house! They've been glaring at eachother for the last 10 minutes!"
"You need not concern yourself, Master." Saber speaks up "I will make no move provided he does not."
"Oh?" His glaring partner raises a single eyebrow "Quite strange to hear that from you, considering what occurred last time."
"You seem to be under the assumption you were completely innocent in that affair." Saber counters "I recall several instances where you were the aggressor."
"Hmph." The dragon man shakes his head and scoffs "I believe I was well within my right to defend my territory, if anything it was the fault of those who decided to encroach upon my territory rather than any action on my part."
Saber's eyes narrow "I'm more than certain that you destroyed several villages who were in no way, shape or form encroaching on your 'territory'. I also have it on good authority that you were a recent addition to the land. If anything, you were the invader."
"That's a very interesting thing you said…" Fafnir 's single eye begins to glow "I believe that it was my right as a superior form of life to have my pick in where I decided to live. If anything, those humans should have been grateful I decided not to incinerate the entire area."
"You are answering your own question as to why the people decided to call upon me to remove you." Siegfried replies, his usually blank face marred with a frown "I suppose the people of this city should be similarly grateful to you?"
"Of course." Fafnir replied easily "If it were not for Tohru and her human companion, I would not have considered to even approach this city or this world."
"Lady Tohru's quest for companionship is hardly justification for yourself to lay claim to another area." Siegfried counters "Unless you mean to tell me that you too have come in search of companionship."
"Hmph." Fafnir huffs "I need no such 'companionship'. Takiya is an adequate host to myself. Besides, to go out and lay claim to more treasure would be more effort than it would be worth." his single visible eyes narrows "Speaking of which...I believe you took my treasure when you removed me from my cave…"
"I believe that treasure was the property of the people of Iceland." Siegfried frowned "If anything, you stole it from them."
The pair continue their argument. I'm left on the sidelines with Kobayashi, staring in worry at their continued trading of insults.
Honestly?
I'm more than a little concerned about how its going to turn out, although at least they haven't started firing off attacks at eachother yet.
