Ooga Booga ended up waiting, he didn't want to wonder in a random direction just to turn back around and climb the same mountain twice.
The reason he felt so confident in his ability to know where to go in the near future, was the fact the stars were coming out tonight, having had all the clouds helpfully follow the blizzard winds.
Navigation was a large package deal when it came to survival and Ooga Booga had not been sold short by Jinn.

Stargazing, as a means of navigation was a relatively new way of traveling.
The reason why it hadn't been mastered yet was simple.
It was a little trickier than it needed to be, the shattered moon making shards of debris disguised as bright stars. Mostly in a streak across the night sky, but sadly it had also flung some chunks all over the place in random directions.
There were simply too many fake stars, most of the highly visible ones move around, it threw people off when they used a small group of stars that no longer exists the next night. Resulting in getting them lost and ruining the reputation of the potentially golden method of navigation.
Lucky for Ooga Booga, he could now tell the difference. Getting his heading was almost easy.
Something else he had now, was a decent understanding of where animals went for migrations, meaning he had an almost complete world map with large holes in seemingly random locations.
"Seemingly" because he was pretty sure they were biomes animals didn't want to go to or couldn't survive in... While thats a nice and neat explanation, it also left the question of why there was a very large continent sized hole, where land based animals, fish and birds never pass over.
Food for thought he supposed.
But the important part, was that Ooga Boogas world understanding included his village, since they had set up camp near a mammoth mating ground, settled in a mountain range with hydrothermal springs.
Hardy plants and other various forms of life thrived there, being considered a hub of activity in the otherwise harsh Atlas climate.
Not that it didn't come with downsides, because it did come with many, and by many, Ooga Booga meant many hostile tribes wanting a slice of Eden.
Not only that, but one of those tribes just happens to have cat girls.
It was a tragic tale of forbidden love.
So Jinn had given him two options for when he got home; Become a military focused civilization and vassalize the other tribes... Or become an economic super power by traveling the world in search of a non-hostile cat girlfriend.
And maybe, just maybe, even an entire civilization of cat faunus... But Ooga Booga wasn't holding much hope for that particular fantasy.
But enough loitering, Ooga Booga had to head in a ESE (East-South-East) direction and hopefully not be too far from home, because his only real way of finding out distance was what his patch of sky would look like compared to his homes' (and exactly how many stars overlapped etc.)

Well, there it was, he was cold and hungry after a harsh trip over various mountains, but the small village and ring of walls making up his place of birth was in sight.
Ooga Booga was standing on the natural protection of a curving mountain range, gazing over the lands of patchy snow, water and grass.
They sure had a good life here in paradise...
One of the big factors in the survival of civilization was hygiene, and was something Jinn had made sure to empart onto him.
Not that they hadn't been using the springs for bathing before, but Ooga Booga would be sure to make it a bigger trend now.
...And he was delaying the inevitable, he best just bite the beast and have the reunion.
It was a scary thing, he already felt alienated without even having seen them face to face.
Jumping up and down a few times to get rid of the jitters, Ooga Booga made the last climb down a mountain.
Before even making it all the way down he could see activity, a small group of people ran out the front entrance and directly towards him.
Meeting them in a particularly grassy patch had been a strategic play, knowing how one of the smaller figures pulling ahead of the group had a goal that they were particularly dedicated to.
Bracing himself for impact was not enough, the figure went into a blur of speed, almost flying into him at speeds too high for even an aura run to compare with.
She tackled him to the soft grassy floor with ease, his aura enhanced stance crumbling by the might of a semblance.
The tribe had called them Gifts for their random and godly given nature, but it was yet another thing Ooga Booga had a real name for now.
Ugha Booga -his little sister- helped him up from his musings and into a standing position, then proceeded to hug him until the rest caught up.
Ooga Booga wanted to immediately start speaking, use his new words to say how much he missed them her... But that wouldn't pan out well.
There was a reason his sister resorted to mostly physical affection, she simply didn't feel comfortable with using many words yet.
Ooga Booga had been less a physical leader and more so an intellectual leader with inventions like fire... And that had been before Jinn, making his broken speech the best of the tribes.
Meaning, the rest of the family catching up and hugging the shit out of him with hardly any words, was understandable.
At the very least, his dad (Udung Booga) grunted out a simple "Greetings."
It was... Small beginnings.
But if he kept his mouth in check and slowly introduce concepts... Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as he had feared.
Taking a deep breath, Ooga Booga pulled in his mom tighter (Ooma Booga) who had also joined in on the family hug.
Some of his friends were there too, watching the young chief reunite with raised voices and spears.
No real words, just particularly meaningful shouts.

His plan was to heighten education gradually, over the course of months, maybe even years.
He would also be doing this while trying to educate himself on something...
Sailing.
How in the gods name is he going to travel over the ocean? There was only so many things to do with the sea he needed to know in order to survive, and most weren't how to build something to sail head first into a storm.
The only reason he even had a hope at all, was because Jinns vocabulary was absolute, gaining knowledge on a global scale, she knew the name of everything and somebody out there had made a reed boat.
It wasn't going to be enough, if what his new knowledge of avoiding deep sea storms was any indication.
He would have to learn how to prosper as a seafarer by himself.
But Ooga Booga was less worried about that, he had time... What he was more worried about was the civilization that gave Jinn those words, there was someone out there more advanced then them.
He had no idea how hostile they were, but a life living around completely jealous neighbors didn't leave Ooga Booga too optimistic.
It was up to him to catch up.

A/N; Names are pain. Also, theres a larger time skip next chapter if it wasn't immediately obvious.
