Juvia took a deep breath and knocked on his door after a few minutes, the door opened revealing Gray who is holding the letter she gave him.
"Juvia! Wha-what are you doing here?!" He exclaimed.
"It's about the letter..." Juvia said and entered the manor, closing the door behind her before continuing. "Well, mainly I felt bad that you have to know about everything through a letter, sending that to you was stupid, I should've just tal-" Juvia rambled on but her words were cut off when Gray pulled her closer and a pair of lips smashed into hers. Juvia's eyes widened in shock but immediately melted into the kiss. His hands made their way down to her hips while hers wrapped themselves around his neck.
"Gray."
She felt his forehead resting on her shoulder, he was also trembling a little.
"Are you really going to leave me?"
She lifted up his chin so she can look him in the eye.
"Juvia has to, she has tons of unfinished business there." She lifted his chin up and fixed his messy hair. "But she promises she'll be back." She lifted herself up, standing on her tiptoes, and gave the man in front of her a kiss on the cheek.
"Juvia's really sorry, you have to know this through a letter. It's so stupid. You deserve more than that." Juvia buried her face in his chest. "I'm a terrible person."
"Don't be ridiculous."
"But it's true." Juvia pulled away from him.
Gray grabbed her right hand and placed a small kiss on it.
"You're here so do you really think I care about that?"
"Yeeeesss?" Juvia grimaced, unsure of her answer.
Gray chuckled. "No, I don't."
Gray pulled her closer, placing another small kiss on her forehead.
"When are you going to leave?" He asked.
"Next week."
He rested his forehead on her shoulder. Juvia ran her fingers through his hair and gave him small kisses on his cheeks.
"Please... Stay here for a while."
The night's cold and dark. Lucy shivered as she walked through the streets headed towards Amber Sin. She thanked Juvia for training her the way she did because she feels completely safe being a woman alone at night.
She takes a deep breath and ignored the cat calls and whistles from the men she passed through. A group of three men then approached her and blocked her way.
"Hey~." One whistled.
"Where are you going, sweetheart." One gave her a lopsided smile.
"None of your business asshole." Lucy tsked. "Leave me alone."
"Fiesty." One of the men leaned in and licked his lips. "I like it."
"I said." Lucy raised her hand and grabbed his wrist. "Leave me alone," Lucy growled and twisted his wrist.
He cried in pain, and two of the men glared at her.
"What the fuck is wrong with you lady?!"
"I told you to leave me alone." Lucy glared at the men. "Your friend here didn't listen to me." She tightened her grip on the man's wrist.
"You're gonna regret what you just did lady!" One of the men cackled and pulled out a 9 mm gun and pointed it at her, while the other one grabbed her by the shoulders from behind.
"HEY!" Lucy screamed.
"You're gonna pay for this, you bitch!" The man with the broken hand pulled out another 9 mm gun using his left hand and also pointed at her.
Lucy gritted her teeth and proceeded to disarm one of the men with a high kick and kicked him in the stomach. She then kicked the man whose holding her from behind in the ankle at least three times until he inevitably let her go.
Lucy then ducked down to dodge the bullet fired by the other guy. She roundhouse kicked him in the face.
Lucy picked up one of the guns from the men on the ground.
"Leave now before I use this on you." Lucy threatened them. The three men scurried away, leaving her for good. Lucy exhaled and dropped the gun she was holding.
"Remind me not to piss you off." A familiar voice echoed through her ear.
Lucy shifted her gaze to her right where her brown eyes met with his dark ones.
"Natsu."
"Hey." The salmon-haired man smiled and waved through his car window.
"What are you doing out here late at night?" His voice was etched with worry.
"Oh, just a stroll nothing special." Lucy smiled as she fixed her hair.
Natsu shook his head and chuckled. "Alright then."
"Want a lift?" He offered.
Lucy sighed, that encounter exhausted her and she wants to go back to Amber Sin without any disturbance.
"That would be nice, thanks." Lucy smiled.
Natsu smiled and opened the door of the passenger seat. "Hop on."
The car ride has a silent and comfortable atmosphere. Lucy hummed a soft tune as Natsu slowly drive his way to Amber Sin.
"You really shouldn't go out at this hour alone," Natsu said.
"I can handle myself."
Natsu chuckled. "I know, I just saw what you did to those bozos earlier."
"I'm just worried."
"Why?" Lucy shifted her gaze to him.
"Cause..."
"Cause I'm your friend. And friends look out for each other." Natsu made eye quick contact with her before looking back at the road again. "We-we're friends, aren't we?" Natsu nervously chuckled.
Lucy looked at him with a rather shocked expression. Lucy never actually considered the possibility of them becoming friends. But the thought certainly is nice. As far as they've known each other which is only a couple of weeks. They've gotten closer and they are comfortable with each other's company.
Lucy nodded. "Yeah. We're friends."
"Thanks for looking out for me."
Natsu smiled. "No problem."
Lucy smiled back and sat in the comfortable silence that enveloped both of them.
"We're here," Natsu said.
"Thanks for the lift." Lucy smiled before opening the car door.
"It was my pleasure." Natsu smiled back.
"You're not going in?" Lucy asked.
"Maybe later, I have stuff to do," Natsu answered.
"See you then."
"See ya." Natsu waved goodbye before driving off.
Lucy smiled and watched his car until she can't see it anymore before walking inside the building.
The cold night's breeze sent tiny shivers around her body. The black silk robe she's wearing isn't helping to fight off the cold. Juvia puffed smoke through the balcony of Gray's room and stared down at the view of the garden. Another round of shivers passed through her as she felt a pair of cold, muscular arms wrap themselves around her waist.
"You'll catch a cold if you stay here." His baritone voice spoke softly in her ear.
"You can't lecture me about that when you're literally half naked." Juvia giggled.
Gray chuckled and roamed his hands down to her hips and legs. He left butterfly kisses from her cheeks down to her collarbone.
"Care for a round 3?" Gray smirked.
