Lancex and his mates said good bye to Brimstone and Undermine and then headed back through the space bridge. They seemed happy, for now.
Once back on earth, Lancex, Scourge, and Evac headed for the office of the Prime. Scourge was sure about this but Lancex insisted. Optimus was extremely happy to see his brother, but was surprised to see Scourge and Evac. And it didn't seem to be a happy surprise. "I'm happy to see you back, Lancex. I am happy you have returned and happier to tell you I now have mates of my own" Optimus revealed.
"Oh? Who are your mates?" Lancex asked.
"Landmine and Jetfire" Optimus replied and Lancex smiled.
"I am happy for you, brother" Lancex replied.
"Thank you, but there is something I don't understand. What are Scourge and Evac doing here? I thought they would be elsewhere" Optimus expressed with concern. Lancex didn't like that.
"We have bonded and they are my mates" Lancex answered honestly, though he could tell his brother wasn't happy, though Lancex wasn't exactly sure why.
Meanwhile, Scourge and Evac were talking with Landmine and Jetfire, each set telling the other that they were now bonded. Landmine and Jetfire were happy for Evac and Scourge and vice versa. It was just at that point an upset Optimus came barreling toward the group. Landmine and Jetfire were puzzled while Evac and Scourge were extremely nervous.
Optimus, upset about what he had learned, glared at Scourge and Evac. "How dare you interface and bond with my brother. I gave my blessing to pursue but not to bond" Optimus got out through clenched dentals. Scourge and Evac both knew they were no match for an upset Prime and hoped help would come soon, as the Prime was irate.
And it did, as Lancex had followed his brother and saw the whole interaction. Lancex was not pleased, but he also didn't want to set his brother off any further. Lancex goes over and pulls his brother away from Scourge and Evac. Optimus wasn't happy and fought but Lancex knew how to carry the bot off safely and did so.
"Let me go!" Optimus demanded.
"Not until you calm down" Lancex replied, acting like the older brother he used to be long ago.
"Just because I bonded doesn't mean I will abandon you again. I came back to earth because I knew you would want me close. Even Evac and Scourge agreed to it as they knew you were important to me" Lancex explained, trying to calm the Prime down. It worked slightly as Optimus stopped struggling for a bit to process what Lancex had said. While Optimus was processing, Lancex had Landmine and Jetfire come over and take Optimus elsewhere. Optimus easily went with the pair.
Meanwhile, puzzled, Scourge and Evac waited for their mate. Lancex soon returned to them. "What was that all about?" Evac asked. And with heavy spark, Lancex finally revealed a part of Optimus' past that few if any knew – when Lancex had disappeared out of Optimus' life and Optimus was struggling to recover from the feelings of abandonment now that Lancex had returned. Scourge and Evac nodded. While that explained somethings, it didn't explain everything. Lancex shrugged his shoulders and took his mates elsewhere, hoping that soon all these would work out.
