Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

So, this one will do most of the wrapping up of this story. There will be one more, short chapter, but this chapter will wrap up a lot of stuff.

Let's get to it.

Chapter 17- War's End

Anakin smiles and laughs a bit as he leaps down from the gunship down onto the platform below him. Around the platform, lava spews up in several fountains, but the shields protecting the facility keep the lava from landing on the facility.

Anakin spins his lightsaber to deflect the incoming blaster bolts from several B1 droids up ahead of him. Then, Rex and several clones come rushing up alongside him, blasting the droids in a few seconds.

"Good one, Rex. Let's move!" Anakin shouts over the sounds of the erupting lava.

It's been less than 2 days since Anakin defeated Sidious at last on Dromund Kaas. After the victory at Dromund Kaas, the Republic moved quickly to finish off the Separatists and capture the Separatist Council. With data recovered from consoles on Dromund Kaas, they had figured out that the Separatist Council had been moved to a secret facility on Mustafar to hide them from the Republic. Anakin and Obi-Wan had immediately been dispatched with a few ships to go to Mustafar and arrest the Separatist Council.

There were no warships over Mustafar, presumably to avoid drawing undue attention to Mustafar. Anakin and Obi-Wan had both led small landing forces down to Mustafar. It had taken a little bit to actually find the facility. Now, they finally have. Obi-Wan had already landed a minute earlier on the opposite side of the facility. Anakin is now making his push to get into the control room, where they expect the Separatist Council to be holed up.

"Alright. Let's move it, boys," Anakin orders the clones around him. He then charges down the walkway ahead of him, headed towards the interior of the facility.

Several B2 droids hurry out of the entrance into the facility, firing their wrist blasters at Anakin. Anakin deflects the incoming blaster bolts with ease and cuts down the lead droid. Rex and the clones destroy most of the rest. Anakin leaps up to avoid blaster fire from the last droid, and then proceeds to cut the droid in half from the top down as he lands.

"Move!" Anakin shouts, and he and the clones rush into the facility.

A pair of B1 droids stand at the entrance of the narrow hall leading into the control center. Anakin cuts both of them down with ease and presses on down the hallway. In seconds, Anakin bursts into the control center. As he looks across the room, he sees Obi-Wan come through the doorway on the opposite side of the room from him with several of his clones.

Sure enough, within the room is almost the entire Separatist Council. Anakin instantly sees Nute Gunray, Shu Mai, and Poggle the Lesser.

The clones accompanying Anakin and Obi-Wan quickly gun down the battle droids they can see in the room before aiming their blasters into the midst of the Separatist Council. Every member of the Council and their assistants with them are crying out in alarm, but aren't moving.

"Members of the Separatist Council! By the authority of the Galactic Senate and the Grand Army of the Republic, you are all under arrest. Your cause is at an end. Your master is dead. I recommend you all surrender peacefully to avoid any further drama and any further injury or death," Obi-Wan declares to the Separatists.

Several individuals immediately begin putting their hands up and getting down on the ground. Others look hesitant, and others even look ready to resist. Anakin looks at Rex and nods. Rex makes a hand signal, and the clones begin firing stun rays, stunning those who are not surrendering.

Anakin moves forward quickly in the midst of the Council members while clones begin fanning out to search for the few Council members that are missing, including Watt Tambor. However, Anakin is focused on one specific Council member. Nute Gunray. The Neimoidian is standing in the middle of it all, looking fearfully at Anakin.

"No, no. I-I only…" Nute begins to protest, trying to find excuses to get him out of this situation, fearful that Anakin is about to kill him. However, Anakin deactivates his lightsaber. The momentary relief Nute feels at seeing that is dashed when Anakin balls his fist and then punches Nute in the face as hard as he can. The blow is strong enough to knock Nute out cold, and he falls against a console, totally out.

Anakin looks up, and sees Obi-Wan looking at Anakin disapprovingly. "I'm sorry, Master. I had to do that just once. For everything he's done," Anakin defends himself. Obi-Wan shakes his head a bit before turning his attention back to the rest of the Separatist Council.

Anakin looks around the control center and feels a smile crossing his face. A genuine smile. At last, they've finished the leadership of the CIS. At last, it's over.

(Coruscant, two days later)

On the streets, it's the biggest celebration Coruscant has seen in hundreds of years. Cheering crowds throng the streets. Fireworks are going off, and people are cheering, throwing confetti, dancing, singing, and celebrating in every imaginable way. At long last, the war is over.

The news that Sidious had been killed and the Separatist Council had been captured had finally been released to the public shortly before Anakin and Obi-Wan had returned to Coruscant with the captive Council. Almost immediately after that news had broken, news was released by the Senate that the few remaining Separatist leaders agreed to surrender to the Republic. It was official. The war was over.

In the streets of Coruscant leading up to the Jedi Temple, the crowds are the heaviest to watch a sort of victory parade. The 212th and 501st were marching to the Temple, with Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka at the head of the parade. The crowds are relentlessly cheering the two Generals that have helped end the war.

Anakin is enjoying the attention, while Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are trying to be a bit more modest, but also couldn't help but enjoy it a bit, knowing that the war is finally over.

"You could try and be a mit more modest, Anakin. A Jedi does not seek such attention," Obi-Wan says, a bit of disapproval in his voice, but also humor.

"Sorry, Master. But we just ended the war. I'm just taking it in," Anakin says, waving to the crowd again, causing even more cheering.

Obi-Wan smiles a bit, unable to deny Anakin's point. At last, the Clone Wars are over. The Jedi can now shift to helping rebuild after the devastation of the war. But, even better, at last, the Sith are gone.

And, I'll end there. I know, this was short, but I just wanted to show the war actually ending.
