Kagura rolled her eyes after reading the newspaper. Really? She's now a believer of the saying "news travel faster than lightning".

How can her meeting with that damn policeman got to the tabloids so fast?! She's furious. They're only talking about her plan and not dating for god's sake.

Now she understands why that jerk wants to work about his current predicament. The headlines could ruin someone's day. The tabloid implied that they are all over each other and show a photograph of her back with Sougo facing the camera unwittingly. The man looks bored out of his mind in the picture and the tabloid is saying he's looking at her like she's the only woman in the room.

Well, duh. The restaurant was pretty empty when they dined there. It's one of the reason why the sadist chose that place in the first place, damn it. For privacy!

She feels like she can't contain her rage and want to burn the place that manufactured this piece of crap but refrain from doing so. She could trash the place, that's for sure but a criminal record is not that interesting at this age. Plus, it would only fuel this rumor. That's the deal with the people making rumors, they would feel delighted once someone bite their trap.

Beat.

"Oi, Kagura."

Kagura felt a chill after hearing that bored voice. It's Gin-chan. Behind her.

She crumpled the newspaper in one breath and turned to her foster father. She didn't even noticed his presence until he has spoken. That's a good sign that she's screwed.

"G-Gin-chan. Where did you came from?" she stuttered in surprise. Damn. They're in the Yorozuya house. Get your floating mind out of it, Kagura.

Her foster father looked at her. "I've been calling you for the last two minutes and you're just reading that paper like nothing could disrupt your focus. What's in it?" Gintoki nod at the poor newspaper in her fist.

Her heart beat faster. Shoot. Gin-chan was not the person who cares about anyone's business but now he finally picked on her weird attitude. Great.

"There's nothing in it. I assure you there's no parfait coupon in it, Gin-chan. Go back lazing around." Her voice sound unusual, if she's trying to act normal, she's just making herself look suspicious.

Gin-chan raised an eyebrow and she swallowed like a naughty girl getting caught making out with someone.

Gin-chan may seem like a fool person, but his dead fish eyes are sharper than he lets on. He is observant on small details that normal people couldn't notice but because of his appearance, he could fool anyone.

She's praying he hadn't found out her secret shenanigans these days. Or else.

"Tch. I just thought you're horrifyingly quiet today." Gin-chan went back to their old sofa and lay down to probably sleep. It's noon and hot outside. Perfect day to laze around for her foster father. She ignored the silver head mumbling about maidens these days.

She exhaled the breath she had been holding and slumped on the floor. Ugh. She doesn't think this could be forgotten in one day so she decided to just stay at home and let the rumor cool down.

She's really considering to dye her hair into something not vermilion.

Sougo chuckled darkly after reading the newspaper.

The terrorists they'd been spying on are working hard but his paparazzi are working harder.

He is hoping this does not encourage the China girl into backing out or else, that publishers are in for something bloody. That woman too.

He is this close to paying them a sadistic visit but the only thing that's stopping him from doing so is his new mission. He couldn't afford being transparent now that he is on an operation.

He is used with the full of crap headlines, heck he didn't even bother reading them only hearing most of the things written about him from his comrades, but this is the only one that brought him a sinister glee. The first time he decided to read articles about him, and this is the headline too.

It's quite clever for this paparazzi to not reveal China girl's face because they know it will hook the readers to ask for more information. More rumor, more money. Good luck to this people because they'll gonna need it when that vermilion head decided to pummel them to the ground.

"Now, now, China girl, what's your plan?" he taunted the image of Kagura inside his mind.

He is officially a hypocrite now because he thinks this is starting to get interesting.

A/N: I finally remembered my ffnet password! I'm so sorry for not uploading anything. Life's been kind of a blur these past months (or years). Man, how time flies so fast! 2022 is nearing it's end and I'm only noticing it now. How are you all? I can't promise to write chapters regularly but I'm going to challenge myself to finish this story. Thank you for holding on, I really appreciate it. As usual, REVIEW or CRITICIZE. Bye!

P.S. I just realized 8 months had passed since I uploaded the last chapter *cries*

Unedited.
