Chapter 5
TALA'S POV
"So you found out Spenceys's dirty little secret?" Bryan asked Kai and gave Spencer a weird look. "I knew things were going too perfect with your girlfriend lately"
"She isn't my girlfriend you asshole!"
"then what were you referring to when you said she gives you butterflies since you were 13?
"If I'm not wrong, last time she gave him a slap instead." I supplied.
"We don't speak of that. And it felt like she was patting me."
I sneered at that. The thought of a demolition boy being hit by someone, and that someone still being alive was a disgrace… Spencer must really like that girl for tolerating this.
"That's pathetic" Kai voiced my thoughts.
"Turn to page 234. Mister Hiwatari will be solving the first question."
Kai, a teacher and an order in the same sentence? I guess I've got some serious explaining to do. Today as usual my little sunshine was planning to bunk classes. [ Ever since I lectured him that day, He always got up and left before I woke up. I had to stay up all night to catch him this time. This added to my concern… Kai didn't sleep at all. I could constantly hear him toss on the bed while I pretended to be asleep.] So now we were in our private math class where we did advanced questions. I wasn't interested in maths, But I gave it my best cause I didn't want to suck at it. Tbh, the only thing I wanted to suck at was K-…. aah never mind. Focus Tala, you have a question to solve.
I checked on my sweetheart and almost melted when I saw how hard he was concentrating. He looked like he would kill anyone who tried to disrupt him at the moment. A really endearing trait if you ask me. This was a side of him that I adored. Kai did a simple sum with so much dedication as though the fate of the universe depended on it. Once he committed himself to something or someone, He would give it his everything. Yes, I stress on 'someone'. I'm sure 90% of people out there wonder whether I'm stupid for calling someone who betrayed his team without any hesitation as 'committed'. But Kai never regarded them as his equals or dedicated himself to them. Putting Hiwatari in a team and expecting him to grow on them was idiotic. Kai was beyond such expectations.
Mostly because it was hard to gain his trust.
Involuntarily, my hands came to rest on his. He was sitting beside me. He recoiled at the contact and before my mind could register anything, I felt a heavy textbook hit the side of my head.
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" Kai yelled and our teacher bellowed "What's going on there? Ivanov and Kai will serve de-"
He was cut off when his radio buzzed to life. He took it. "Yes sir." he said.
He cut it, and looked at me. His fury had been replaced with sympathy.
"Tala, The director is back and is expecting you in his office right now" He informed in a grave voice.
