Chapter 4 is finished and is here! With the new mouth, I thought it best to start things with the youngest of my stories. Also as of this posting, some of my older ones have been removed, I don't know what the hell I was thinking with those ones but I suppose they allowed me to learn by trial and error so that's a plus. There is no large time-skip in this chapter so no, the cast aren't as old as they are in cannon just yet.

Marianne is a bit of a mystery for me as I don't know who Anya could be paired with who wouldn't freak out because of the extra mind in Anya head and by PR cannon, she would need a second brain, not a second mind to pilot a jaeger which knowing her, will be a heavy hitter much like the green one from Uprising. If any of you have suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Kallen and her family will not make an appearance this time around sadly as this chapter will focus more on things within Lelouch and Nunnally's personal lives and she isn't a part of it yet.

extremeninja09: Thank you for your kind words, it also makes me feel like I did a good job when I read reviews such as yours. The federation was on its last legs even in cannon as it's that they kept civil order when 90% of the population live in poverty by using the empress as a symbol, hence why it all fell apart when the people found out they sold her out but here, she is only really liked in China itself as the rest of the nations that broke away when the federation fell, really don't like her as they hold her as the symbol of cruel and incompetent government, that will become important later.

If things play along like they did in the movie, it'll be hard for the world superpowers to turn on each other like that as unlike with the Allies in WW2, here they formed a united armed force with leaders, scientist and pilots from all walks of life and nationalities. So you can imagine that not only would the majority of PPDC members not want to go back to trying to one up/kill each other but the public wouldn't want to go back to that either as they had just finished fighting off an extinction level threat, what leader in their right mind would think people would want to kill even more?

Basically, the Kaiju serve as their own version of the Zero Requiem as the world would be sick of such things by then or at the very least, too exhausted to try anything for years to come.

Vein Bloodborne: I will try my best for Gispy to make her own debut, she was a wonderful piece of tech and it would be criminal if she didn't have some of the spotlight for herself, which means the Becket boys will be here soon enough.

As for the fate of Burai Black, it's a 2nd gen Jaeger, of course it'll be replaced as it'll either decommissioned when it's age starts to show or it gets wrecked like Gipsy was.

ChimaTigon: Let's wait and see for things to develop first before we try anything crazy.

Perseus12: Well she is a young girl just entering her teens so of course she has her own mixed feelings on things, who wouldn't? It was a pretty little piece for me to write as I adore writing homely pieces of these stories. I'll get to their siblings in this chapter as it is high time they make an appearance so we can see how they are getting along. Yes, it's a year earlier than cannon but things are not going like anything in cannon as for one thing, Lelouch had to let go of his lust for vengeance so the odds of him leading a rebellion are next to zero. Also, when it comes to territories of the empire, think the ones I decided on in my Star Wars x Code Geass crossover-with the sole difference being that they only have up till Area 10 due to the fact they couldn't take any more land post K-day.

ewertondragon10: Thank you, I like to ensure info is made available so that things make sense as you read. Not many people know the truth of Lelouch and Nunnally as the only ones who know the full story would be the of course, vi Britannian siblings, the Imperial Britannian family, the Kururugi clan, the Sumeragi clan and Viktoriya(she's been in his head more than once, there is no secret he has she doesn't know about and vice versa) Tohdoh and other members of both the Japanese and Britannian military have an idea but were never told the full story.

Chapter 3: Moment of Peace

1st September 2016 a.t.b

Downtown Tokyo – Japan

"Sir?" The driver of the vehicle called out for what felt like the 10th time to try and gain the attention of the sole other occupant of the car.

"My apologies, my mind was somewhere else." Lelouch apologised, speaking in fluent Japanese much like the driver as he looked out the window at the passing scenery.

"Would it be appropriate if I ask why?" The driver cautiously asked him as they took a corner.

"I was thinking how I would need to visit the memorial and….pay my respects." Lelouch responded as he looked at a shrine, which unlike most was built to honour the lives lost 6 years prior when Japan was attacked. Even now, people who must have been friends and loved ones of the fallen were present to pay their respects. "I wasn't in country last mouth so I feel that I'm late to the party, so to speak." He finished as he wasn't around for the official mourning, something he felt was wrong as it wasn't something one can just miss.

"Sir, if I may. No-one would fault you for not gathering with the rest of us, you were deployed in another country, thousands of kilometres from home." The driver assured him as he turned another corner in their luxury four door saloon. A side benefit of being rich. "If anything, we're grateful that you and so many others fight to keep us safe."

"If only." Lelouch didn't buy it but he decided it would be better to discuss other affairs. "It seems the city is in quite the mood, what's the occasion?" He noted as people were visible happy as they drove by, some helping to set up decorations or cleaning up the streets.

"The Russian Empress and her eldest son will be visiting soon." The driver informed him as it would make sense he didn't know, news doesn't travel as fast as it used to since he was posted in an imperial territory which meant that next to no news from Japan could reach him.

"Relations between the two countries have been better that I expected then?" Lelouch replied, slightly surprised that the two nations who once didn't like each due to the Sino-Russo war over a century prior were now much closer.

"More than better sir, there is talk in building an international train line from Hokkaido via Sakhalin Island to mainland Russia." The driver replied with a smile as even he could see that this kind of investment would only serve to better both nations as it would mean more jobs for one and greater access to trade between the two.

"That is quite the ambitious project. How would we fund such?" Lelouch asked as he took out his phone to check the weather updates, such an ambitious project would only be matched by the channel passage built between France and England a couple of decades prior.

"That, I do not know, sir." Driver said before he turned his attention to the road as they reached a red robot. "But is must be good to be home again, right?" in response to his question, Lelouch merely chuckled to himself.

'Hmm, who would have thought I would came to see a foreign land where 6 out of 10 people want me dead for being Britannian as my home?' He thought to himself, amused that he saw Japan as more of a home then Britannia, regardless of the fact he still couldn't go out at night without being mugged and/or attacked. Even now, tension between Britannians and Japanese was high. "It is, it has been some time since I was off duty. I'll get to see the family outside of video chat for once." He answered as he thought to how wonderful it would be to be able to give Nunnally a hug again and not have to worry about shitty service making conversations hard to understand.

"Having family present in person is always better than calling then, sir." The driver agreed with him.

"Yes, yes it is." Lelouch said as they finally made it out of the business section of Tokyo and made their way towards the outskirts of the city, to where the family estates of the rich, powerful and influential were located.

(Shinjuku District)

"Father, how has your day been going?" Suzaku asked as he took a seat in front of his father's desk. Like his best friend, he too had matured as puberty took a hold of him and though he was slightly shorter than the prince, he was much more muscular, something that showed as he wore brown jeans, sneakers and a form fitting green button up shirt.

"Busy, with our guest coming in a few days, the entire country has only been growing in excitement." Genbu replied as he took off his reading glasses to massage the bridge of his nose. Even after all these years, he was still elected the Prime Minister for a reason, still it was a lot of work as both the national diet and the Imperial throne wished for the best results as soon as he could deliver.

"Well, Russia was the only other nation to help us in our time of need so the people see them as friends and allies." Suzaku pointed out as when they were invaded, the federation and union had done nothing and even after the imperials fled to return to their own country, it was only Russia who offered any form of support, something that had soured the Japanese people's opinions of the other world powers and made relations between the nations….rather tense. "At least, we don't have to deal with the Federation trying to violate our borders like every week." That was one good thing that happened then the federation fell to revolution. They didn't have to worry about the federation trying to take Japanese territory for themselves as ever since they annexed Korea in the 1910s, there had been at least 27 separate incidents when the Chinese tried to annex Japanese holdings.

"That was a plus but you and I both know that the civil wars that broke out in most of its former territories helped no-one, only added to the pile of bodies." Genbu pointed out as China itself fell into civil war for two whole years as one side wished for the end of the monarchy while the other wished for it to be restored to its full glory with no eunuchs or parliament to keep the power of their kings and queens in check. In the end, the royalist won after around 321,000 people died.

"Yeah, didn't the one in Nepal wrap up a week ago?" Suzaku asked as he recalled reading about that in some article online.

"And the ones in Vietnam and Cambodia. Even then, all in all, over 545,000 people dead and even more so wounded or displaces by the fighting." Genbu said as he thought back to the intelligence report he had been given about the situation in Pan-Asia.

"How could the Chinese let such vile filth grow in local and regional government is beyond me." Suzaku muttered as he like most, was no fan of the federation and nearly celebrated when news broke of its collapse.

"There is rumours that the French and Spanish are thinking about sending aid." Genbu pointed out to him as neither country had said anything but some powerful figures in each had voiced their intentions to do so.

"If course they are, before the federation moved in, most of those countries were colonies to European powers." Suzaku shot back as it was true that once upon a time, most of the Asia outside Japan and China were puppets states or full on colonies to Europe, India had only fallen to the Chinese in the chaos that broke out after Napoleon kicked the brits out of Europe. It was around that time that Australia declared independence and unlike the Indians who soon found themselves under a new master, the people of the down under had been able to retain their sovereignty ever since.

"You've been hanging around Kirihara too much, haven't you?" Genbu accused his son, referring to their old house guest by his second last name.

"You're the one who suggested I hang around people my age." Suzaku answered as he shrugged his shoulders. "Besides, it's not like he's wrong."

"Sometimes I wish he was." The veteran politician muttered to himself before he recalled today was special. "Anyway, don you have a party to get too?"

"Oh yes! I nearly forget, I'll see you tomorrow, father." Suzaku said as he jumped to his feet before giving his father a bow before he quickly walked out of the office.

"Just make sure to have fun!" Genbu called to his son just as the doors closed behind the lad. 'Kami knows those kids need it.'

(With Suzaku)

"Lelouch, you busy?" Suzaku asked over the phone as he rode the elevator down towards the lobby. With him were two guard that his father has assigned to him.

"Not as the moment. Where are you right now?" Lelouch responded over the device.

"Still in the parliament building. I shouldn't take too long to reach Kirihara's estate." Suzaku answered.

"Just be sure to get there in time, you know how Nunnally gets." Lelouch warned him as they both knew that the girl had an adorable pout face they knew Kaguya had taught her, yet they had no proof of it.

"Don't I know it? Anyway, did you hear?" Suzaku asked hi, reaching for the new identity card he was given by the PPDC.

"That you finally getting promoted? Yes. How it feel to be Corporal Kururugi?" Lelouch asked him as his old friend had been promoted just the other week.

"Great, I don't know why I was a private for so long, it was humiliating." Suzaku answered as he was proud that he was moving up in the world by his own merits as the PPDC wasn't influenced by the countries they supported it any way.

"That cause you weren't deployed, like. At all." Lelouch stated blandly. "The Tokyo Shatterdome is the most peaceful of the three shatterdomes in Japan." After Tokyo itself was attacked, the PPDC took measures to ensure that such a thing would never happen again and so far, it had worked.

"Maybe I should request a transfer down south with you then." Suzaku said as he reached the lobby area of the government building and started walking towards the exit.

"I would be nice to have male friend around." Lelouch replied as it wouldn't be such a bad thing. But that decision was up to the PPDC command, not them. "Anyway, get going soon, the traffic is picking up."

"Still being driven around?" Suzaku joked as he walked out the building into the open streets where a car pulled up to pick them up.

"You and I both know that I would drive myself around if I could but old man Kirihara insists that I have a chauffeur." Lelouch firmly replied over the line as one of the men with him opened the door for Suzaku to enter before he followed suite with the second guard taking the seat next to the driver.

"Like it or not, you're not just a prince anymore, you're the heir to Kirihara Industries." Suzaku stated as they wasn't made public yet but it was known to their close knit group of friends and families that Lelouch was Taizois chosen successor. It wasn't something that the executives of the company in question liked but it wasn't like the boy wasn't suited for the task.

"Something I don't particularly favour." Lelouch muttered over the line, sounding like a boy who had to dress up for a wedding he didn't want to go to.

"Look at it this way, now you have your own capital and powerbase, you don't have to rely on your father at all." Suzaku tried to cheer him up as he already knew his future was to one day aide and serve Japan, whether it was through the private sector or military like Tohdoh-sensei did was something he didn't know at present.

"…You're not wrong. Plus it would be rather enjoyable to rub it in his face that I control the very fuel we wants so bad, that would make my day." Lelouch saw his side of the argument, how more accurately, saw a side of it that made things more appealing.

"Damn, you have some serious issues." Suzaku joked as they car drove off towards his destinations.

"Tell me something I don't know, you and I both know that my hatred for my imperial blood will likely never die." Lelouch honestly told him as they both knew that he will never forget his past and while Nunnally was willing to look past that, he wasn't. the fact that he had broken off all forms of communications with his siblings proof of that.

"So long as I don't get call from the police that involves you, I don't care what you do." Suzaku answered as he wasn't in the mood to try and get his friend to see the bright side for what felt like the 1000th time. "By the way, is this Viktoriya going to be there?"

"Very funny and no, she is visiting her family in Russia. See you soon." Lelouch asked, sounding confused to which Suzaku chuckled as he didn't know how cute the two of them looked together.

"Yeah, see yeh." Suzaku said as he hung up the call on his end.

(Kirihara Estate – Outskirts of Tokyo)

"We have arrived, sir." The driver said as they arrived at the front gate to the Kirihara estate, a massive 33 hectare piece of property that the old man had brought long before Lelouch was even born. The entire place was built to a mixture of Edo style castle design with modern features.

"Thank you." Lelouch answered as the main gate opened up for the car to drive up the pathway towards the main house.

"Shall I assist you with your luggage, sir?" The driver asked as they came to a stop right in front of the house and much to his annoyance, the maids and butlers had been gathered to greet him at the door.

"No need. I may 'require' a driver but I'm fully capable of carrying my own bags. They aren't that much anyway." Lelouch replied as he got out of the car before the driver could get out to open the door for him.

"As you wish, sir." The driver chose not to comment as he was told that the boy was quite the lad and valued his own independence.

"Here is a little tip, for the conversation on the way here." Lelouch said as he grabbed the three bags from the boot of the car before he walked up to the driver window and passed the man 1,500 Yen.

"T-thank you, sir. Enjoy your day." The driver replied as he took the cash before he drove off, leaving the boy alone to face the music. Lelouch signed through his nose before he turned around to face the audience waiting for him.

"Welcome back, young lord." They hired help all stated as one.

'Here we go.' Lelouch thought to himself as he felt out of place for more than one reason, one of which being that he was still dressed in his PPDC fatigues with only his aviators jackets worn over it.

"It is good to be back, is my room ready?" He asked one of the maids closest to him.

"Yes sir, shall I have you bags taken there?" The maid asked as the boy started to walk down the path towards the house, not minding the beautiful garden along the way, he had seen it enough time at this point.

"No need, just inform my grandparents and sister that I've arrived. I will meet them in the garden but first, I would like to bathe." He replied as he reached the main door which two butlers opened for him, to which he wasn't too upset as he only had the one free hand as the other was pulling along his baggage.

"At once sir." The maid replied before she quickly walked off to carry out his instructions.

"The rest of you can get back to whatever you were doing." Lelouch said to the rest of them as he reached the stairs towards the upper floors of the mansion.

"Yes, young master." They all replied as they all departed from the lobby and went back to their regular duties.

'Once, I would have thought this normal but now…'Lelouch thought to him with sign as there was once a time when he didn't bat an eye to the help, he never spared them a thought in his younger days. 'It just reminds me of the past, times I wish to leave in the past.' He finished the thought as he felt his blood start to boil at the mere thought of the sperm-donor of a father he was cursed with. He didn't pay it much thought before he started to walk up the stairs to his room.

"The weather is changing, fall is almost here." He noted aloud as he looked out the window at saw how most of the trees were already showing leaves that were orange to brown. There were even gardeners raking up the fallen leaves. "Nunnally classes will be ending soon, maybe we can go out and visit some of the sites." He thought to himself as he felt about how much fun the two could do, maybe attend a concert. He would have continued the thought but his phone went off, alerting him to a message. "Hmm?" he sounded as he looked down at the news alert on his screen.

Breaking News: Rogue Prince back in the Land of Rising Sun

"Oh for the love of-How the hell dud they even find out so fast? I've only been in country for a couple hours!" He yelled to himself as he made sure to stay on the down-low. There shouldn't have been news of him returning to Japan from Hawaii either as his commander made sure to make sure it wasn't leaked.

"That's because you are quite the celebrity." A familiar voice replied to his question in a teasing manner. He turned to face the source and saw that it coming from a young girl, younger and shorter than himself but shared she his black hair but had shining emerald eyes that hide an intelligence and cunning beyond her years under a layer of playfulness and childish mirth.

"Kaguya. I wasn't expecting you would be here so soon." Lelouch stated as the shorter girl walked up to him, wearing one of her designer white and red kimonos.

"What can I say, having out with Nunnally beats boring old etiquettes lessons any day." Kaguya answered as she pulled out her fan to mask her smile as they both knew she took any chance she could to get out of lessons or away from her tutors.

"That I can agree on." Lelouch said as he put his phone away and his bag down before he reached over and gave the girl an unexpected hug. "How have you been lately?"

"Oh oh, you started off with a hug? Who are you and want have you done with my betrothed?" Kaguya said with a small blush as she didn't see this coming, Lelouch was typically more reserved than this. Not that she was complaining.

"Ha ha," Lelouch said as he broke the hug. "For your information, I have been told that one must be more open to such forms of welcome."

"And I agree wholeheartedly, it lets me feel you up." She replied as she jumped right on in, forcing him to catch her and keep his own balance.

"And that's why I don't really like them." Lelouch said as he could feel the girl reach all over his chest. Sometimes she could be too much.

"You are such a prune sometimes but don't worry," She said as she looked up to his face with her teasing smirk firmly in place. "I will break you out of your shell one of these day, mark my words."

"Hehehe, I look forward to that day, if you're really persistent, it could before our wedding." Lelouch joked as he put her down and grabbed his bags before he walked off again. Leaving the now blushing girl in his wake as she could pick up on the joke there.

"Oh, you jerk!" She yelled at him as he chuckled and turned the corner, leaving her field of vision.

"I'll see you soon, I want to have a quick shower first!" He called out as he went.

"Alright, see you later Lulu!" She called out to him as she turned to walk off.

"Again with the nickname, what's with the nickname?" She giggled to herself as she could make out his words as he wondered why she used that nickname for him.

(Later)

"Thank you everyone for making time to be here." Nunnally called out to the three other teens present as they were all gathered in one of the gardens, the girl in question using a special outdoors wheelchair.

"It was nothing Nunnally, we always make time for friends and family." Suzaku answered from his spot on the floor, Kaguya and Lelouch seated next to him as Nunnally 'stood' in front of them.

"And with the adults taking about boring stuff, why don't we have some fun?" Kaguya beamed to them all, making it obvious to Nunnally that the older girl was smiling.

"I have a feeling that you take of fun will end badly for us all." Lelouch muttered to himself as he sat there wearing a simple white button up shirt and black slacks. His hair still smelling of his shampoo.

"Oh hush you, a man must be willing to listen to his wife." Kaguya batted his side with a pout, one that he didn't fall for.

"We're not married yet." Lelouch pointed out.

"Three more years and that will be incorrect!" Kaguya countered as she started to go on about how their wedding will be the highlight of the year and for some reason, will have live peacocks and flamingos.

"Those two already bicker like a married couple." Nunnally joked to Suzaku as the older boy moved closer to her so the two of them could speak.

"Tell me about it. One of these days, I may have to drag him out for a guy's night or something." Suzaku joked as they both listened in amused as Lelouch tried to talk her out of getting fire dancers.

"No offense Suzaku, but it'll only be the two of you, do don't have that many friends." Nunnally teased as she had heard that the two didn't make many friends over the years, with the two of them being born into high society and then having even more duties on their shoulders. All that meant little time for making friends.

"Don't rub it in." Suzaku muttered to himself before the other two re-entered the conversation.

"Any who!" Kaguya said louder than normal to make sure she was heard, she also had one hand blocking Lelouch's mouth to ensure he stayed quiet. "What do you say we try something new today?"

"Like what?" Nunnally asked as the girl had insisted they have one activity she wasn't told on, to make sure it stayed a surprise.

"Like pottery making!" The Japanese princess revealed to them all with a flourish of her arms.

"Pottery?" Suzaku asked her. That….didn't seem all that fun.

"Yup, I heard this neat little article about it the other day and ever since, I've been itching to try my hand." Kaguya revealed to them as she clapped her hands.

"But how would-" Lelouch started to ask but at the same moment, some of Kaguya's servants came into the garden with already set up pottery station for the four of them along with clay and paint supplies. "Never mind, it seems you planned for this." He finished as he now realised the real reason she had arrived early. To make sure all this was here for them.

"Now it's pretty simple from what I've read. You place a big ol lump of clay on the stand and use this peddle to spin the stand around, as it turns, you shift and change your hand to create the shape of pot and/or vase you wish to create." Kaguya explained what she found her after researching the topic in question.

"But how will I use it then?" Nunnally asked, hoping that her dear friend hadn't left her out by mistake or something.

"I thought of that too, my dear friend. Yours is powered by a small electric motor. You said the other day that you can more your legs a little bit, right?" Kaguya asked her, revealing that Nunnally was healing but healing slowly.

"Yes, but the doctors say my legs aren't strong enough to support my weight." Nunnally answered, hiding her grief as the fact that even after all these years, she still couldn't even stand on her own power. Her muscles were too weak for such a feat.

"You don't need them to, the electric motor does most of the work, all you need to do is put a little pressure on the peddle to get it moving and remove your foot to get it to stop." Kaguya revealed, demonstrating it by pushing her pinkie finger onto the peddle, showing that it needed very little pressure as her one finger was able to do what the other stations needed her full hand to do.

"That sounds wonderful, it'll be so much fun!" Nunnally voiced her thoughts, having heard the spinning motions of the station along with the soft hum of the electric motor of her own. She was so happy that she could participate in the full process like her brother and friends.

"And after we're done with that, we can paint them however we want! I even got this new type of paint where you can smell the different colours!" Kaguya said as she passed around the paint buckets and to their collective surprise, each one had a faint smell of a food or flower. The odd thing was each smell somehow matched the colour as the yellow smelt like sunflowers.

"Get out of here, you did?" Nunnally blurted out, full of joy at the notions of being able to paint and 'see' the colour with her nose, sure it was different but it was still amazing!

"I want everyone to be as involved in this as possible, so of course I did!" Kaguya said as she gave the girl a hug, one that Nunnally wholeheartedly returned, filled with gratefulness at the fact she had made such a wonderful friend.

"Oh thank you so much, we are going to have so much fun together!" Nunnally declared as she started to tell them of all the other activities she had planned. Revealing that they would be busy till long into the night before they really started the sleepover portion of the gathering.

(With the adults)

"Looks like they're having fun." Rukia pointed out to the others as they watched the children get on with their pottery from a distance.

"Kaguya has a way of bringing entertainment into everything she does." Taizo agreed with his wife as he took of his tea as they all observed from the shade of a gazebo.

"Kind of like her mother." Yamato Sumeragi teased as he looked over to his wife.

"Stop it, I wasn't as active as her in my youth." Hanabi defended herself with a mope as she looked away, not caring that her lady her age should carry herself better than this.

"You're right, we were worse. You used to run circles around me so many times, it wasn't even funny." Yamato replied with a chuckle with the other two soon joined in on.

"You were just too boring for your own good." Hanabi rebuked as she turned back to the conversation.

"More like focused on training to lead the family business. I was an only child, much like Kaguya, so there was no-one else my parents could entrust the business too if I proved incapable." Yamato stated as he watched as his daughter directed traffic, pestering the two boys to do better and be more creative.

"Let's move to other things, shall we. How have the two been doing?" Hanabi asked the two Kirihara, referring to their adopted grandchildren.

"Well, really well actually. Nunnally has been still going for her check-ups. The doctors says that her legs aren't as weak as they use to be but it might take years before she can begin physical therapy." Taizo replied, giving them some good news first.

"That is good news, she must have been excited at the though." Hanabi asked with a smile.

"More than you can believe, she was telling everyone how she'll challenge them all to a foot race and then beat them all." Rukia chuckled as there were times when she really did act her age, it was a rather entertaining afternoon when she did that.

"To be young again." Taizo said to himself, recalling his own youth in a simpler time but then he recalled the bad news. "But both their physiologist have very different news for us."

"It seems Nunnally is still suffering from her blindness as no matter what they try, she can't seem to break free of the trauma. She still has nightmares every now and then, and though not the degree of when they first arrived in Japan, it's still far more than a child her age should." He stated as he took a sip of his tea, the mood growing sombre.

"And her brother?" Yamato was afraid to ask.

"I was able to get my hands on his physiological evaluation," Taizo replied as he put his tea down. "According to the PPDC physiologists, he has an unhealthy amount of rage and trust issues. He has had issues with sleeping in the past and more often than not, feels uncomfortable in a room with a single exit or in crowds." He explained to the concerned parents as he too, found that report to be disturbing. "The only reason they keep in on as an active pilot is because he had Viktoriya with him." He finished as answered the unspoken question as to why he was allowed to keep fighting with such a dangerous mental state.

"He trust her and she keeps his more undesirable tendencies suppressed in combat." Hanabi asked in a tone that said she already knew the answer. She supposed it was a benefit of a two pilot system, you just need one to really be sane to balance it out in the end.

"Any real solutions?" Yamato asked him, concerned for the boy that will one day become his son-in-law.

"They recommended therapy as drugs wouldn't help him out all that much and they would put his piloting skills into question." Taizo answered as he scoff when he read what type of meds they wanted him on, it was as if they were scared he would lash out like a mad dog or something.

"Damn those Britannians, their lust for power and wealth has left thousands just like them. Not everyone has friends like they do to help them out." Hanabi cursed as he held back her more colourful words, mindful that if she lost it, her daughter and her friends will see and hear everything.

"That is a problem, one I hope is solved soon." Rukia stated as she turned to see her granddaughter laugh along with her friends as she put the finishing touches of her own vase, maybe she can see if they can't keep them around the house, they certainly looked good for first attempts.

2nd September 2016 a.t.b

Britannian Homeland

Pendragon

"Sister?" Euphemia asked as she poked her head through the opening in the doorway to observe her sister, hard at work on some project in her study.

"Yes Euphie?" The young soldier asked. Still wearing her Army uniform with her Lieutenant Colonel proudly pinned to her chest. Even if the military had been akin to a sleeping beast on the international stage, they had still be domestic issues they were called in to handle.

"Are you busy right now?" Euphemia asked as she cracked the door open a little more.

"Nonsense, what seems to be the problem?" Cornelia asked as she gave her sister a tied smile as she placed her pen down. She needed a break from all this paperwork anyway.

"I was wondering if you had seen the headline from earlier." Euphemia asked quietly as to not draw their mother's attention, even if she wasn't anywhere near-she figured this wasn't a topic she would enjoy.

"What headline? You know I don't watch the news all that often." Cornelia asked her, unlike her sister who was still in high school, Cornelia found herself swamped with more most of the time, news that wasn't important tended to reach her rather late.

"This one." Euphemia said as she pulled out her own phone and quickly entered the news app before passing it along to her sister to see.

Breaking News: Rogue Prince back in the Land of Rising Sun

"Lelouch made it back from his last tour, he's in Japan right now." She said with a watery smile as he was happy that he had returned from another one of his deployments but also sad that on the other side of the world rather than with them.

"Is he, well that is," Cornelia said to herself as looked at the picture the article came with, one clearly taken from a distance as her brother left the airport and got into a clearly expensive car that drove off. She would have kept looking at it but she broke off and replied in a cool, measured tone. "Interesting."

"Is that all you have to say, Cornelia?" Euphemia asked her sister with a frown, not approving of her reply to what should be great news.

"What more do you want from me. He has made it very clear he wants no contact with us." Cornelia answered back, keeping her own tone collected even if she did feel her heart ache at the knowledge that her dear baby brother was growing up-and she wasn't in his life to be there for him.

"But he's-" Euphemia tried to rebuke that but Cornelia reached over and took her sister hands into her own, the phone laying forgotten on the table.

"When was the last time he responded to any our letters?" Cornelia asked her sister, barely holding back the tears as she already knew the answer but wished that it was false, just her Euphemia did.

.

.

.

"Never." Euphemia croaked out as she almost started to cry as she couldn't remember the last time she had a honest conversation with Lelouch, every letter they sent went unanswered, all the calls straight to voice mail. She missed her siblings.

"I know it hurts Euphie. It hurts me too that he thinks we had something to do with Marianne death and their exile." Cornelia said as she got up from her desk to give her sister a much needed hug. She will always look back on that day as her worse failure as it started off an unfortunate chain of events for their once happy click of the family. Even Schneizel and Clovis expressed their sorrow when in private to this day. It was worse when news came back that they weren't returning. Clovis went through a mourning phase that lasted a full year where he only painted dreary and depressing images when he found the mental strength to even rise the pen. Schneizel smiled less and would often times be found just gazing into the gardens of his villa where he once taught Lelouch how to play chess and checkers while Nunnally would run about the flower beds. Guinevere had made the mistake of making a snide remark about the two 'returning to their commoner filth where they belonged' in Cornelia's presence about a mouth in.

She broke the older girl's jaw and gave her a black eye for her troubles, since then-the more 'purist' members of the family had kept their tongues in her presence, when she bothered to entertain them in the first place.

"But that isn't true. You were about to fly over to pick them up when San Francisco was….was destroyed." Euphemia pointed out as she remembered her sister arguing with their mother about Cornelia's plans to take a portion of her royal guard to Japan so that they may get their beloved siblings out if that warzone as soon as possible. She was hours from leaving when the first reports of Trespasser reached Pendragon. Within hours, their 'father' had ordered her to lead the counter-attack on the damn thing which took her days and cost her over 1,000 good men-both on the ground and aircraft that flew too close.

After that, she has to assist in the clean-up which took a full two months. It would have gone faster but their number labour wasn't equipped with the necessary gear to speed things up and when they were ordered to work faster without gear, it lead to rioting which slowed things down even more. By the time she had completed all the tasks given to her, six full months had gone by it was too late.

"It was also my own fault. If I wasn't too deep in my sorrows, I could have foreseen him approaching father like that and stopped it but…" Cornelia replied as she held herself responsible, she was their elder sister but rather than hold in her own grief to ensure they were alright, she didn't and because she wasn't there to stop him, her brother made the mistake of questioning their father, a man she had long since accepted never loved them. She could barely remember a time when she would talk to her, ask her about her life or even attend social gathering like holiday balls or birthday, like with most of their siblings, she grew up without a father figure and was instead raised by her mother, maids and servants. "How…how is he? He still exchanges letters with the Ashfords, right?" She asked her sister, wishing for a distraction from their painful past.

"Yes, Milly says his responds to her and her grandfather's letters whenever he gets the time." Euphemia answered as she and her sister broke their hug and instead moved towards the sofa in the corner of the room. "She says that his been doing okay, juggling both his roles the best he can." She was grateful for that part at least, Rueben had known the vi Britannia siblings and kept in contact with them, even introducing the pair to his granddaughter Milly, who was a real treat to be around.

It was odd that in the destruction and death caused by the Kaiju, the Ashfords are been able to use it as an opportunity to rise up to even greater heights then what they had prior to the death of Marianne. Not only was Reuben the one who proposed using knightmare built to a unprecedented scale to fight off these monsters from another world but within two years, the Ashford were the chief researchers and producers of jaegers in Britannia. A venture that had made them billions over the years.

"And that fiancée of his?" Cornelia asked, thinking of the little brat that she had met at her brother's graduation party. How the hell a little girl like that thought she could just approach and talk to them like friends was one thing, but the real kicker was the fact that Lelouch went along with it, what the hell!

"Oh, you mean Kaguya Sumeragi?" Euphemia asked as she had taken some time to research the girl and found out two things. One: that she as the heir to the Sumeragi conglomerate, one of Japan premiere tech developers which meant she was set to inherited billions when her time comes. Two: She was to their sister-in-law.

She didn't know how she felt about that one, especially since she overheard Schneizel and Cornelia talking about how the marriage is merely a political move against them. Did they even like each other? Were they happy? She didn't know. "She been acting like a second Milly to him. From his and Nunna's letters, she is quite the person." Euphemia said with a nervous sounding chuckle as she recalled how….peppy the girl was when they meant and from what Milly has told her whenever they meet up, she is almost always like that.

"Don't remind me, I still recall how we met." Cornelia said as she recalled how the little Japanese girl walked up to them and then pulled on her uniform like it was a rope to draw her attention. She had the gall to recommend new uniforms for her personal guard that according to the little brat, would be brighter and cheerful!

"Yes, she is….certainly bold." Euphemia answered as she recalled how both Dalton and Guilford looked like they wanted to be confused and kill the little girl. It did add to the evening, even Lelouch had stuck to simple replies and nodding his head in the conversation. After that, the two sister decided to discuss other things from how Cornelia was handling the increased workload to how Euphemia was dealing with being a student at Ashford academy.

And that is that. The chapter is done. They have been changes to the cannon info if you didn't already catch them. The first one being that, Lelouch and Nunnally are the legal grandchildren to the Kirihara and as a result, stand to inherit his company and fortunes so even if Lelouch picks up that habit of illegal gambling, he'll be able to put up more money but as chess is seen as a 'European' game by the Japanese, he'll have better luck finding a shogi match or something.

Another change was that Genbu is not only still alive but also still Prime Minister as according to Wikipedia, a person can be Prime Minister for like so long as they keep being selected every 4 years-so a well-liked, competent leader can basically hold the positions till they're senile or dead. Also, there is no divide between father and son as the war didn't last as long as cannon so Suzaku would have no reason to side against his father in terms of beliefs as according to the audio books detailing Lelouch and Nunnally's time at the Kururugi shrine, Suzaku was a loyal son of Japan, but still was naive as cannon.

Third change, I gave the siblings actual mental problems due to their past as it was always amazing how Nunnally was so pure and kind, but unreal as both Suzaku and Lelouch have visible psychological scars from what they've seen and what they of had to do just to survive, she does not as even though she was crippled in a 'terrorist attack' she is still happy-go lucky. The only time we see this change is when she willingly fires nukes at her brother and his forces with the goal of making Damocles worse than he is so that people will turn their hatred towards it and not him-which has major flaws. The first is people won't hate the weapon but the people using them, the fact that she was merely a tool to use against him, and the fact that she shows only little regard for the fact she's killing people by the dozens with each shot. If Suzaku was as much an ass to her as he was to her brother, he would have called her out for her actions.

The fourth change is to do with Britannia as Cornelia isn't that highly ranked as without all the conquests she would have been leading in cannon at this point, she can't really rise in the ranks as fast as cannon as yes, she's an imperial princess but she clearly has military rank over her men, they have fought with her and under her for years and that's why they follow her, not because of who her parents are. As stated in chapter 1, the idea of Jaegers was Reuben's idea so it makes sense that his family would profit big time from the concept-he still started up the academy but this time in Pendragon, as their social standing isn't an issue, Milly doesn't have to deal with her parents trying to her wed to some noble and can focus all her attention on being herself.

I also wanted to show that their siblings wanted to help them but were unable as Charles just gave them jobs, they didn't have enough or were too young(in Euphemia's case). Schneizel, for the arrogant bastard with a god complex, did care for his siblings in his own way so I can imagine he grieved their 'deaths' like any normal person would.

One last thing, I checked. The legal marriage age for a girl in Japan is 16(with parental consent) and it is 18 for a boy(with parental consent) In japan, one cannot wed under the age of 20 without parental consent so yes, Kaguya will be of marrying age when she is sixteen as her parents agreed to the arrangement when she was like 7, Charles doesn't have a say(Not that he would give a shit) since by Japanese law, he isn't Lelouch or Nunnally's legal guardians, that falls to Rukia and Taizo(the old goat being the one who came up with the idea in the first place). This uneven age limit is only set to change in 2022 so as this story takes place prior to that, it's legal(hell, if you factor in the fact that the a.t.b. calendar starts before the birth of Christ, then this story takes place in the 1950s-60s)
