Hayley's face lightened up as she heard the words. She turned around instantly to see her friend, standing at the mouth of the cave. She noticed the injuries on her body and some scars on her face, arms and legs. She runs and envelopes her in a big hug.
Hayley asks "What happened kira are you alright"
Kira sighs and says "not here we should go someplace safe."
Hayley turns to Paulo and says "please tell me your house is nearby."
"Yea it shouldn't take more than half an hour but I think your friend should go to a doctor."
"No it's ok I'll take care when we reach your home."
"You weren't thinking of going without me were you", came a voice.
They both turned and exclaimed, "Dr. K you are alive!!"
After some time they all are settled in a room and Hayley is inspecting Kira's wounds.
"I told you i'm okay" says kira trying to get away
"Okay Kira, tell me what happened, I just got Tommy's emergency broadcast instructing everyone to follow the dispersion protocol."
Kira starts, "His forces were much stronger and larger in number than we estimated. His army included the remaining foot soldiers from Drakkon and everyone all the ranger teams had defeated, the only difference was they were now working together. We were losing the battle badly so Tommy and some rangers held the line with few of the remaining armed forces and the rest of us followed the dispersion protocol in hopes to recover and regroup."
"Oh my god", exclaims Hayley "do you know who all made it out and where they might be."
Kira shakes her head, "You know that in dispersion protocol no one knows where other rangers went, we just have to find them through the grid energy all the while avoiding his armies who are hunting us. I barely escaped and got unconscious. Arjun saved me and brought me here in his private plane. Oh and my transponder is toast. I was barely able to lock onto portal energy and come here do you think any of you can do anything," asks kira looking between Hayley and Dr. K.
Dr K inspects the transponder and says "I don't have required equipment so it will take time but it will be okay", and goes to the side.
"Oh and meet him. He's Paulo. He got connected to the crystal but I don't think he can morph", says Hayley.
"Yes that's because the grid presence here is very weak for some reason but the crystal is safe, that's a relief", says Dr. K as she gets up and goes to Kira
"You will probably not be able to morph due to weak grid presence here but can teleport to short distances and radio us". says Dr K giving kira her morpher back.
"Thanks Doc" says Kira as she takes her morpher back.
"So now what" asks Hayley.
"Now we stay in the shadows and keep an eye on things to make sure no one else has noticed these portals". Kira said
"We also need to prepare for when he finds us we have to be ready to face him again"
"But how, how can we prepare to fight someone we know so little about. We need some kind of information on him"
"Only information won't be enough we will need more sophisticated weapons and carefully laid plans, in the meantime I would feel better if we have some kind of base of operations and some equipment." Said Dr K
"Yea and i also would like to do basic body scans to make sure we all didn't experience any severe side effects of dimensional travel". Said a weary Hayley.
"It may take some time but I think I can arrange a lab with state of the art tech and some medical facilities". Said Arjun casually.
"What do you do again…..first you have a private jet!" Asked curious kira.
"My dad is CEO of the world's largest weapons company ….we can buy virtually anything just give me rough specs and ill see what i can do". Says Arjun.
"Awesome will give you the list in an hour". Both Hayley and Dr K scream at the same time.
"Don't forget to choose a place where people don't come. We need to stay hidden. Also, I'm tired. Can we stay here for the time being Paulo?" asks Kira.
"Yes, why not I'd be happy to help follow me to your bedrooms". Says paulo and leads them to the first floor of his house.
