After few weeks at a remote undisclosed location
"Here you go, your new base". Says Arjun as he leads the group in a new flashy looking room.
"It has consoles and a big screen on one side, a holotable in the centre and a door to each the left side and far end of the room. There are also 5 work stations."
"This was a research facility which was used by the government in World War 2. Dad got it as goodwill from the US government years ago but never used it. I requested him and he got all this installed, don't worry I haven't told him about you all, anyway The consoles and workstations can scan an area of about 1000 square miles in all directions and the computers can process a very vast amount of data in a short time. To the left side is the medical room with scanners and other emergency materials. The door at the far end leads to staff quarters around 15-20 with a total capacity of 40 people plus a kitchen. Holotable has connection to all the stations and consoles." Explains Arjun
"Sweet, let's get started, come to the med bay guys i'll check everyone out and lets start scanning the internet". Says Hayley as she moves to the med bay.
"Also I'll need to do some upgrades to be able to scan the planet and possibly this part of our solar system" says Dr. K as she starts to inspect the holotable
After around 3 hours everyone is checked, scanned and are working on stations.
"Anyone found anything?" asks Kira .
"Yea but most of it is fake and governments of any nation aren't doing anything to suggest they might have picked up our portal readings". Says Hayley.
"Well not officially…..governments like to keep certain things under the radar, but I guess we aren't in much danger. In the meanwhile we should start preparing if we have to fight him again". Says kira.
"Hang on, I'm picking up some energy fluctuations at the beach". Says Hayley
"I'll go check it out". Kira rushes out.
At the beach Kira watches in surprise as a group of tyrranodrones seem to try grabbing someone from between the rocks . Kira looks and finds the area clear of any civilians, then gets near them and uses her amplified scream to destroy them. All the tyyranodrones vanish in thin air. The man was panting hard and trying to get out of the rocks. Wanting to help, Kira reaches him.
"Are you okay….Jake what were you doing hiding in the rocks". Asks a stunned kira
"I was trying to protect energem and some dino chargers I was able to take with me. But i couldn't morph" Jake comes out from the gap in rocks he was hiding in.
"Yea i also tried lets head back to base and get you checked out". Kira helps Jake to his feet.
"Wait you have a base here awesome how'd u manage that". Asks an excited Jake.
"It's a long story". she looks around again to make sure no one is watching, then takes out her transportal and teleports back to the base along with Jake.
At the base Dr K takes dino chargers from Jake and begins examining them while Hayley takes a look at his injuries. All is quite apart from the occasional hisses of pain from the med bay. After thoroughly checking Jake and Hayley make their way back to the holotable.
"I think you should take it easy for some time Jake while the rest of us will figure out our next steps". Says Hayley as she starts working
"They looked like Tyrannodrones but something looked off in them like they were advanced somehow". Explains Kira as she joins Jake and Hayley.
"Lets just hope mesogo isn't back. We are long overdue for a break now". Says Jake
"Do you know if anyone else from the team made it out Jake?", Asks Hayley in a low voice
"I did see Koda and Sir Ivan open portals and the others were supposed to open after them"
"We should focus on finding survivors no matter whom they choose" says kira barely audible"
"Yes you are right Kira, we all had our differences but we all are rangers fighting to save our homes" Jake replies back
"Hold on, there's been a massive earthquake in Italy, reports claim around 6.9 on Richter scale". Says Dr K in an alarming voice.
"Tell me the epicenter isn't on a fault line" Hayley says as she starts working on her station
"Yes it is on a fault line located in the Apennine mountains"
"And that's bad how…because last i checked fault lines are a major reason for earthquakes" asks Jake
"Well Tommy had a theory, he believed fault lines are the way grid energy seeps into planets and since grid presence here is practically zero maybe it's the energy trying to get out" explains Hayley while working
"So in short there could be more earthquakes like this one?"
"If this theory is correct, there will be many more….hold on there is some kind of structure beneath the mountain, it looks man-made, I need a bit of Morph X then I'll be able to get a rough idea of what it looks like"
"Here my transponder has some left" Jake giver his transponder to Hayley
"Alright this should be enough, this morph X should be enough…..got it the establishment isn't too big if i have to guess I'd say it's a typical CIA type site….hold on there's strong energy signals there of some kind"
"They shouldn't have anything this advanced we need to go check it out before they draw his attention and get themselves killed" says Dr. k
"Who is this guy you all are talking about and why do you all seem so afraid of him?" Asks Arjun curiously
Everyone looks at each other uncomfortably then kira says " We better focus on the matter at hand and try to find a way there"
"Yea I have a bad news on that front, surrounding area is covered with land mines and other heavy security measures seems like there's a lot going on there" explains Hayley
"All that is still not enough when he comes knocking, we need to find a way in, maybe we can find something that can help us"
"You all are in luck, follow me" Arjun says as he starts moving out of the base
"Yea now don't tell me you have contacts in the CIA" kira rolls her eyes as they all follow him out
"No…well yes actually I am CIA, was on a vacation when i found you and when i couldn't hack your device I contacted my CO and got permission to work your case….don't worry I'm not the enemy here"
"We will talk about it later but what happens at that base" asks Hayley
"Well that's classified all you need to know is less than 10 people know the location and it's the most secret place after area 51 even the agents who work there don't know of it's location here we can take this VTOL" explains Arjun
