The eighth match of the first round in the finals between Katsuki and Diana was set to begin as two Class 1-A students already stood on the field stage to face each other.
"The eighth match of the first round is about to begin!" Present Mic announced. "It's a guy with an angry face! From the hero course, Katsuki Bakugo! Versus the one I'm personally rooting for, also from the hero course, Diana Asaka!"
"So, your Quirk can switch different colors of aura, right, Rainbow?" Katsuki said with a glare.
"Rainbow? Gee, that was real clever." Diana said sarcastically with a deadpan face.
"If you're going to give up, do it now." Katsuki advised in a warning tone. "Because I'm not going to hold back."
"I'm glad you said that because I'm not planning to." Diana responded with a grin. She then cracked her neck side to side in preparation. "You can attack me from wherever you want. Fighting you will be a fun of a lifetime."
"Hey, Luna, you and Diana went to junior high with Bakugo and Midoriya. Do you think Diana has the advantage over Bakugo?" Selene wondered curiously.
"Well, Diana's gonna fight Bakugo with everything she got. The only thing those two have in common is that we will show each other no mercy and fast reflexes. But I definitely believe she has the advantage in this match." Luna explained. "But the more Bakugo moves, the more he sweats, which adds a great advantage to his powerful Quirk. Diana has to use her green aura until she finds the perfect moment to strike him out of bounds. All in all, I think she can win this."
"Begiiiiiin!" Present Mic exclaimed.
Diana manifested her green aura around herself and immediately rushed forward. Just as she predicted, Katsuki extended his signature right hand and instantly unleashed a powerful explosion at her. But Diana easily avoided getting blasted and found herself in a small clearing while being surrounded by a massive amount of smoke floating in the air.
"You should have dropped out of the match." Katsuki said. He then saw Diana moving in the smoke and immediately slammed his emitting hand towards her. "There's no way you can beat me!"
Unfortunately, when Katsuki struck Diana, he watched her hologram dematerializing out of thin air that she sent through the smoke as a distraction.
"Impressive! She used her own hologram copy as a decoy! What incredible quick thinking!" Present Mic cried.
In swift seconds, Diana emerged from the smoke directly behind Katsuki and fired a destructive red energy blast at him from her left hand. But Katsuki immediately turned around with lightning-fast reflexes and blasted Diana with an explosion that sent her flying across the ring. Diana quickly recovered and switched into her orange aura to hover in mid-air.
"Wicked reaction time!" Jiro said.
"Seriously, the dude is insane!" Kirishima exclaimed. "Diana can use only three auras to strike Bakugo. But they both got lightning reflexes. So, I don't know who has the major advantage here!"
Diana isn't gonna quit that easily. She kept charging after Katsuki in her green aura glow and sent out her holograms to get close to Katsuki again.
"You're fast, but too slow to strike me!" Katsuki yelled as he unleashed another explosion right in the holographic Diana's face.
Everyone looked awestruck as they noticed that neither Katsuki nor Diana weren't showing any mercy at each other. Katsuki kept unleashing explosion after explosion as Diana kept releasing hologram after hologram.
"Wanna bet?!" Diana roared.
Katsuki then struck Diana with another explosion. But Diana switched into her orange aura and avoided the attack.
"OMG! This is insane!" Kaminari said.
"You said it!" Sero said with stunned eyes.
Diana continued to charge at Katsuki while sending more holograms with her green aura, leaving Katsuki to strike the incoming holograms with explosions. Katsuki was able to avoid some of the holograms, but only few striked him with swift punches and kicks.
Many heroes watched the fight between Katsuki and Diana with surprising yet confusing faces. Few of them looked directly at Cementoss, who was looking absolutely surprised as well.
"Hey, is this girl toying with that guy?" One hero asked.
"It seems that way." Another hero answered. "I'm not sure what she's planning on doing to him."
Neither Diana or Katsuki hadn't taken any damage nor looked completely exhausted as they kept countering each other with more explosions and more holographic and energy blasts.
"For those of you that are totally confuse, Asaka and Bakugo are obviously fighting for the dominance of combat." Aizawa spoke as he immediately grabbed the microphone. "Their fierceness are an acknowledgement of each other's strength. Bakugo knows that he deserved to make this far. So, he's making sure that he does whatever he can to keep her at bay and come out on top."
After the smoke cleared out, Katsuki looked at the slightly panting Diana, who stood undeterred from Katsuki's barraging explosions.
Just as I expected. She's like an untamed animal who toys her prey and then strikes all that enters her sight. No wonder she ain't dead yet. Katsuki thought with an uneasy face. She's as strong as Luna, but she will fall eventually.
"Well, you sure know how to show a girl a good time, Bakugo." Diana said with a determined smirk. "Alright then, time to get serious."
"About time." Katsuki said with a smirk. "Took you long enough, Rainbow."
"I was just toying you, so I can find the opportunity to strike you where it hurts." Diana explained. She then let out a teasing smile. "Too bad Luna could've been your opponent to take you on instead of me."
Katsuki narrowed his eyes at Diana's words in irritation.
"Oh, guess I struck a nerve." Diana mocked. "I always thought she might've been your idea of a challenge. She could actually put up a fight against you. Should've known you like her so much."
Diana manifested her red aura around herself blazingly and started collecting it in her right hand. She then released red energy blast that unexpectedly divided itself into multiple blasts shooting around Katsuki at full power. But Katsuki instantly raised his hand into the air and unleashed a massive explosion that completely destroyed the energy blasts all at once. That move even sent Diana flying across the ring, but she switched into her orange aura and hovered herself in the air to keep her balance.
"I figured you would have some sort of stupid plan to beat me." Katsuki said as he stood menacingly within the smoke. "You are friends with that nerd after all."
"Bakugo unleashes a huge demonstration of power!" Present Mic announced. "He blasted apart Diana's finishing move and remains untouched."
"That was close." Katsuki murmured as he looked at his arms and winced in pain.
"So, he managed to destroy my attack with one shot." Diana muttered with narrowing eyes.
I don't believe it. Luna thought with wide eyes. Diana put everything she got against Bakugo, but he demolished her attack like it was nothing.
"All right then, just like you said, time for us to get serious!" Katsuki smiled. He then immediately charged towards Diana. "Diana!"
Oh yeah! Bring it, Bakugo! Diana grinned. You may destroy my attack, but I'm still standing!
Diana switched into her indigo aura and started charging at Katsuki. She crafted a long indigo whip in her right hand and delivered a quick flurry of lashes at him, but Katsuki managed to evade each incoming rapid lash with swift speed and reflexes. Diana's whip managed to wrap around Katsuki's arms and waist tightly and slamming him into the ground multiple times before kicking him away with a roundhouse kick.
Katsuki balanced himself from getting close to the out of bound line and sprinted straight towards Diana to attack her with a series of explosions that blasted Diana backwards. But Diana recovered herself and barraged Katsuki with rapid blazing red energy blasts. Once Diana has skidded to a stop and switched into her indigo aura, Katsuki gathered his strength and fired a supercharged explosion that hit Diana successfully. He then unloaded a killer barrage of exploding bombardment at her with a wide, determined grin.
When the smoke finally cleared, Diana was still on her feet in a blazing red aura.
Then suddenly, Diana groaned wearily and fell on her knees.
"Crap." Diana muttered with gritted teeth.
Uh no! This is not good! Luna, Selene, and Aisha gasped in shock. She's about to lose!
Diana slowly pushed herself off the ground and struggled to take aim at Katsuki while beginning to lose her strength to fight back.
Oh well. Diana thought with a weak smile. So, what if I lose? No big deal for me. Even though I hate losing, especially against Bakugo out of all people, but it was fun while it lasted. She slowly lowered her arm down. I may have lost this round, but I promise myself that I will never lose anyone like Bakugo next time.
Then, Diana collapsed unconsciously to the ground.
"Asaka is knocked out! The winner is Katsuki Bakugo!" Midnight declared.
The crowd erupted in cheers for Katsuki's victory.
Two robots carried an unconscious Diana off the stage on stretchers to Recovery Girl's office just as Katsuki exited the ring, knowing that he is advancing to the next round.
From the stands, Izuku was too busy taking notes on Diana's Quirk. Uraraka silently sat up out of her seat and exited her way out of the stands. Luna took notice of Uraraka's departure as she knows that she's going against Selene.
Luna got up out of her seat and ran after Uraraka into the hallway.
"Hey, Uraraka. If you want to learn how to win against Selene, I'll be happy to share." Luna offered. "I mean, if you want to."
"A kind offer, but no." Uraraka denied confidently. "I'm aware of her reaction speed and agility almost like a ninja. But if I'm gonna win, I have to learn Selene's Quirk movements on my own."
"I understand." Luna said. She held up a thumb-up. "In any case, good luck."
"Thanks." Uraraka smiled as she returned the thumb-up.
Meanwhile, Kirishima rushed abruptly to Recovery Girl's office as fast as he can. Once he entered inside, Diana was generating violet aura all over her entire body on the bed. After she completely restored herself into perfect health with healing energy, Diana opened her eyes and started stretching her limbs.
"Diana, that fight was amazing!" Kirishima grinned excitedly. "Epic! Totally epic!"
"Aww, thanks, Kirishima." Diana smiled.
"So, how are you feeling?" Kirishima asked.
"I'm good as new." Diana replied. "Thanks to my healing aura."
"Healing aura?" Kirishima repeated with a confuse eyebrow.
"Yeah, my Aura Quirk allows me to switch different multi-colored auras." Diana explained. "Of course, each aura has a different power as you saw during my fight with Bakugo. The red aura is energy blast, the orange aura is flying, the yellow aura is force field, the green aura is holographic copies, the blue aura is bright blinding flash, the indigo aura is construction, and the violet aura is healing."
"Oh wow. Then why didn't you heal your injuries during your match with Bakugo?" Kirishima asked as he sat down on the bed next to Diana.
"I could've, but I want to kick Bakugo's ass fair and square." Diana replied with a shrug. "Taking a healing shortcut during battle isn't really my thing of fun. Just because I lost the fight doesn't mean I'm gonna cry like a baby about it."
"That's what I like about you. You have a heart of a badass warrior. So manly." Kirishima smiled. He then realized what he just said with wide eyes. "I mean, so womanly. But you get the idea."
Diana felt dark red blush on her face, but she let out a smile and wrapped her arms around Kirishima's neck.
"Thanks, man." Diana said.
Kirishima's face turned red before releasing a soft smile on his face.
Unknown to Kirishima and Diana, Luna watched them from the entrance with a smile. She then walked away back to the stands.
Later on, Luna walked through the hallway back to the stands. But she suddenly saw Katsuki slightly close to her on the stairs. Katsuki was instantly surprised by her presence.
"Luna, what are you doing here?" Katsuki asked.
"I was checking on Diana at Recovery Girl's office, but Kirishima beat me to it." Luna replied. "Anyway, congrats on winning your match. Well, I'll better head back, so I can watch Selene and Uraraka's match."
Luna walked away, but Katsuki's question stopped her tracks.
"Diana's stupid plan. It was Deku's idea, wasn't it?" Katsuki asked. "Only he would come up with something that annoying."
"No, Midoriya has nothing to do with Diana's strategy and neither did I. Diana came up with that plan all by herself." Luna informed. "She's the one who wants to give everything she got at you. If that match was harder than you thought it would be, then it was because of her strategy, not Midoriya's."
Katsuki narrowed his eyes, but he turned his head away.
"Just get yourself prepare for your match already." Katsuki said. "You better win, so I can fight you myself. Oh, and...good luck."
Luna looked at Katsuki with a blushed face for a moment until she let out a soft smile on her face.
"Thanks, Bakugo." Luna said.
With that, Luna ran off.
Katsuki then walked back to the stands.
"Hey Bakugo, playing the villain, huh?" Sero asked.
"Even if it was because of who you were up against, you did make a pretty convincing bad guy." Asui said.
"Shut up, you idiots, or else!" Katsuki yelled.
"For real dude, you and Diana were heated at each other neck and neck." Kaminari commented. "She sure has an aggressive heart of a fighter like an Amazon."
"She's definitely an aggressive fighter, I'll give her that." Katsuki said. "And…I kinda respect that."
Katsuki's eyes moved to Luna, who was chatting with Aisha.
Then, the second last duel of the first round in the finals between Selene Hoshi and Ochaco Uraraka commenced in the field.
"It would an honor to fight you, Uraraka." Selene said with a smile. "I always find your Quirk very interesting. I wish you good luck in this match."
"Yeah, you too, Selene." Uraraka smiled back.
On the stands, Luna was excited to watch Selene in action against Uraraka while Aisha quietly observed the match.
Uraraka is at a disadvantage against Selene's Quirk. Aisha thought. If she wants to win this, I hope she has a strategy that will allow her to get close and use her Quirk. Not to mention, she has to outmatch Selene's ninja-like speed and reflexes as well.
"Begiiiiiin!" Present Mic exclaimed.
Uraraka immediately rushed forward as fast as she could. Selene performed six star-like orbs in her hands and launched forward at Uraraka, who couldn't avoid the attack and ended up getting hit with one of them. Selene's attack produced a heavy cloud of smoke that surrounded around her and her opponent. Despite being blown back, Uraraka wasn't entirely uninjured.
Uraraka rushed back at Selene again, but Selene fired six more star-like orbs at her. Her eyes widened in surprise when she thought her attack hit Uraraka through the smoke. Instead, it hit Uraraka's jacket.
What the...?! Selene gasped. She sent her jacket through the smoke as a decoy and I fell for it!
Then, Uraraka swiftly sped behind Selene with an opportunity to touch her with her Quirk. But unfortunately, Selene dodged out of the way with her incredible fast reflexes.
Uraraka continued her onslaught, attacking Selene over and over without a hint of deep resting breaths. That forced Selene to repel her repeatedly with stellar orbs. But Uraraka kept coming and attacking Selene over and over again only to be blasted back by her stellar orbs. Despite Selene's attack, Uraraka remained standing strong.
"Selene is incredible. I don't know how Uraraka can even get close on her." Jiro said in awe.
"You said it." Mina agreed.
"Okay, I'm totally lost right now." Luna said in confusion. "Selene's attacking Uraraka, but she's not finding a plan to touch her so she can use her Quirk."
"She has a plan." Aisha said simply. "Just look closer."
After the smoke cleared, Uraraka remained undeterred from the battle. She panted with a determined expression as she stood strong from Selene's barrage of stellar orbs. That left Selene completely confused.
What's she doing? I've been blasting her with everything I got and yet she's still standing. What's her true motives? Selene questioned.
"It's time. Thank you, Selene, for keeping your eyes focused on me." Uraraka said.
"Huh?" Selene asked.
Selene looked up to see a vast amount of debris floating above the stadium.
So, that was her plan! Selene thought with wide eyes. She put on a smile on her face. Well, I'll be damned. Very impressive, Uraraka!
The screen showed hundreds of rocks floating above that made the crowd, the hero staffs, and the class 1-A students in a mix of shock and surprise.
"That was Uraraka's plan all along. She kept low to the ground so Selene's stellar orbs tore up the ground, creating weapons for her." Aisha explained. "Thus, leaving Selene completely oblivious about the meteor shower when Uraraka kept her eyes on her by attacking relentlessly."
"That was genius, Uraraka." Midoriya said.
"Very smart indeed." Luna concurred.
As Uraraka closed her fingers together, all the debris were released from the sky and came falling down effectively towards Selene from above.
"Aah! It's a meteor shower!" Present Mic yelled.
"You seriously didn't notice?" Aizawa asked.
"Hey, she had a plan all along!" Midoriya exclaimed.
"She can win this!" Luna grinned.
Uraraka quickly rushed her way at Selene as she extended her hand out in hopes of exploiting on an opening for her Quirk.
Here's my shot! Whether she's defending or evading, there will definitely be an opening! Uraraka thought determinedly as she began approaching Selene. I'll do it! I'll win and be just like Deku!
But unfortunately, Selene raised her hands up in the air above her. She generated a large stellar orb in size of a beach ball and fired it upwards. The stellar orb directed itself to the meteor shower and suddenly obliterated all the debris with an explosion. The impact of Selene's attack horrified Uraraka in dismay as she got blown away from her only chance of touching Selene with her Quirk.
"What the heck?! Hoshi has just eliminated that attack with a single orb!" Present Mic yelled.
Uraraka struggled to get up on her feet. She wanted to continue the fight, but she ended up collapsing on her knees. She found herself reaching her limit after taking the brunt of many stellar attacks.
No way. One attack. That's all it took. I put everything into that move. No, Deku wouldn't give up! He'd keep going! Uraraka thought.
Uraraka began crawling towards Selene with every ounce of strength she got in her. Even though she was beginning to lose her very consciousness, she still wanted to keep fighting.
But suddenly, Uraraka ultimately tripped over herself and collapsed to the ground unconsciously.
"Uraraka is knocked out! The winner is Selene Hoshi!" Midnight declared.
The crowd erupted in cheers for Selene's victory.
"Bummer. I was really rooting for her. Oh yeah, I guess Selene's moving on." Present Mic said with a sigh.
"You're supposed to be unbiased, you know." Aizawa said.
After watching Uraraka being carried off to the Recovery Girl's office, Selene walked off the ring and returned to the stands. She noticed that both Luna and Aisha have left the strands, knowing that their match is coming up next.
"Selene, that battle was amazing." Yaoyorozu commented. "Your Quirk skills are incredible. When you get the chance, can you show me some of your moves one day?"
"Oh, sure, I guess." Selene smiled as she sat back at her seat.
"But seriously, I don't know how you were able to aim a powerful attack at a frail girl like that." Kaminari said. "I couldn't help but hold back against Shiozaki."
"She completely overpowered you, Kaminari." Asui remarked.
"Can't you just let me have this?!" Kaminari asked in annoyance.
"The word frail doesn't begin to describe Uraraka at all." Selene said. "Let's just say that she's...formidable."
In the waiting room, Luna was stretching her arms and legs in preparation for her match against Aisha. The door opened and All Might walked inside along with Tarot Chariot.
"Oh, hey." Luna greeted in surprise.
"Your mother and I are really proud of you." All Might said with a smile. "Despite the USJ attack, you kept reaching your goal with a smile."
"Yeah, but I'm still not in full control of this mysterious power." Luna said with a frown. "I lost myself to my anger and went on a crazy rampage against Celena. But I promise to be careful with my emotions if it gets activated again."
"We're counting on you, sweetheart." Tarot Chariot encouraged as she and All Might wrapped their arms around their daughter for a hug. "You made it this far. Good luck and go get 'em. Win this match with a smile."
Luna smiled and hugged her parents, feeling inspired by their encouraging words.
"I promise." Luna said with a smile.
Meanwhile, Uraraka returned to the stand with the rest of the class as she went back to her seat.
"So, the match hasn't started yet." Uraraka asked.
Iida was startled in alarm by Uraraka's puffed-up eyes for crying from her losing match against Selene.
"I'm good." Uraraka reassured.
"Something horrible happened to your eyes, you have to go see Recovery Girl." Iida said in concern.
"I already did. This is from something else." Uraraka said.
"I see. If I were you, I'd be frustrated too." Iida said.
"It's no time to wallow. Use Izuku's next match as a source of encouragement." Tokoyami advised.
"Will do." Uraraka said.
"You're so wise." Iida complimented.
Uraraka then turned around to look up at Selene.
"Hey, Selene. Despite my loss, battling you was a great honor." Uraraka smiled. "I will love to challenge you again. Maybe you can show me some of your moves some time."
"I would love that." Selene smiled back.
Meanwhile, Luna walked through the hallway for her first match. What she didn't know is that a female pro hero emerged from one of the hallways across from her. That's when the pro hero and Luna noticed each other's presence.
"Hey, Amazonite." Luna greeted.
"Hello, Luna." Amazonite greeted back.
"Are you looking for Aisha?" Luna asked. "And where's Vondergeist?"
"Vondergeist is with your parents at the teacher's stand. But I actually was looking for you." Amazonite replied.
"Ok, what's sup?" Luna said.
"I wanted to wish you luck on your match against my daughter." Amazonite said. She placed her hand on Luna's shoulder. "I want you to give everything you got. Aisha wants to become a hero more than anything else in the world. But she concealed her emotions ever since she was a little girl. I'd like to know what happened if she fights you in this match. All I want is for my daughter to live her life with happiness." She sighed with a chuckle. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to bother you."
Amazonite began to walk away, but Luna's voice halted her.
"Amazonite, just like your daughter, I also want to become a hero." Luna said. "Even if she may never experience any emotions, she's still your daughter." She let out a small smile on her face. "No matter what happens in this match, be proud of her."
Luna kept walking and headed out to the ring, leaving Amazonite to stare at her with a hopeful smile. Amazonite then walked her way back to the stands.
Unknown to the girls, Shoto overheard their conservation from the corner. Before he could turn away, Amora suddenly appeared right in front of his face.
"You know, it's not nice to spy on people." Amora spoke.
"You're that little girl..." Shoto said with a slightly surprised expression.
"Yup, the name's Amora." Amora introduced. "Can you watch the fight with me? Please? Pretty please? If you do, I'll tell you everything you want to hear about Aisha."
"Alright." Shoto said.
Amora smiled and wrapped her arms around Shoto's neck for a hug. Shoto looked at Amora with a stoic face and held her in his arms before walking out of the hallways.
At last, Luna walked to her next match and arrived outside. She walked towards the ring at the same time Aisha did. The crowd, the hero staffs, and the students are ready to witness the final fight on the field.
"Time for the final round, folks! These two ladies have both been front runners in the festival! It's Yagi versus Rozu!" Present Mic announced.
From the stands, Katsuki watched Luna and Aisha closely. But his eyes were only focused on Luna, wondering silently if the Divine Trinity symbol will activate again and hoping that Luna won't get out of control again.
Selene, on the other hand, stared at Luna and Aisha with a pondering expression.
I don't know how this match will go. Selene thought. They both possess powerful Quirks. So, it's hard to imagine who will win in this round.
Elsewhere, Tomura was watching the sports festival on a laptop screen in his room.
"Pay close attention to them, Tomura Shigaraki." A mysterious masculine voice instructed. "These two ladies could prove to be formidable obstacles to you one day."
"I'm not worried about a couple of kids." Tomura replied with a scoff. His eyes stared at Luna on the screen. I'm only interested in her.
Back at the stadium, the U.A. teachers are ready to witness the final match of the first round of the tournament match.
"This is it." All Might said to his wife. "Our daughter is battling Amazonite and Vondergeist's daughter."
"Only time will tell." Tarot Chariot responded.
Amazonite and Vondergeist looked at their daughter as they hoped that Aisha will do well in the match against All Might and Tarot Chariot's daughter.
Shoto watched the match from the sidelines as he carried Amora in his arms.
I can't lose this battle. Luna thought boldly. My parents...my friends...they supported me all the way to this moment. I will win. This. Fight!
"You ready for this, Aisha?" Luna shouted.
"Ready when you are, Luna!" Aisha shouted back.
Luna and Aisha got into their battle stances with determination as they both braced themselves for their epic fight.
