Chapter 2
Rocketing Back into Action
Speed, Shinx, and Leaf are walking through Route, enjoying the scenery.Speed: Man the start of our adventure. This is gonna be so awesome.
Leaf: Yeah, I wonder what pokemon we'll see?
They kept on walking until they got to their next stop. Viridian City.
Speed: Whoa so this is Viridian City.
Leaf: It's so beautiful.
Shinx: Shi Shinx (So cool!)
They then started to explore until they got to the Pokemart. They went inside seeing all the goods that the store offered. Speed saw some treats in one aisle so he went to it and found some Bulbasaur Sun Dips and Shinx Electric Fires.
Speed: Hey Shinx would you want these.
Shinx nodded excitedly and found a basket to put them in. He then found some potions in another and grabbed three. He then went to the cashier and paid for all his stuff before Leaf came with Squirtle in her arms holding Squirtle Smolders.
Speed: Looks like Squirrel wanted some treats too.
Leaf: Yeah he literally jumped out of his pokeball to get them.
The casir rang them up and they put their stuff in their bags before leaving. They walked until they got to a building with a pokemon symbol on top.
Speed: This must be the first gym.
Shinx hopped off his shoulder and let out a cry.
Shinx: Yeah buddy, this will be the start of our legacy!
Leaf: Wait Speed, Shinx!
They didn't listen as they were racing to get in; they were then grabbed by the hood and scruff and pulled back by a Machamp.
Speed: Hey let us go, we're trying to get in there!
Shinx: Shinx (Yeah!)
A man with blond hair and blue shirt comes out. He orders for the Machomp to let them go and it drops them on the ground.
Speed: Ok what's the big idea with you grabbing us like that!
?: Sorry, but he has to check if you have the rightful amount of badges to get here.
Speed: Huh but I thought this was the first gym, I don't have any badges.
?: No, this is the very last gym to get your final badge to enter into the pokemon league.
Speed: Oh sorry my fault.
He then walks away as the man shakes his head.
?: The names Blue by the way. Try to get stronger kid and maybe you can beat me.
Speed looked back and smiled.
Speed: I will! I'll give you the battle of a lifetime!
Shinx cheered as they all walked away and Blue smirks.
Blue: Just like you Red.
He then walks back into the gym. With the group they were setting up camp on the second route.
Speed: Man he was so cool!
Leaf: He looked so strong too. I hope we can be that strong.
Speed: Well all we need to do is train and work hard to get there but for now let's eat.
He takes Bulbasaur's pokeball out and Bulbasaur appears. He got out two bowls and poured in Shinx and Bulbasaur's food in them and they started eating as Leaf did the same for Squirtle. They then took some food out their mother cooked for them and started eating. They had a nice conversation while eating when they heard rustling in the bushes.
Speed: What was that?
Leaf: It must be nothing, it's pretty windy out.
Speed: Maybe you're right.
They continued eating when the rustling came again this time alarming them.
Speed: Ok who's there?!
The rustling kept on coming and their pokemon got in front of them.
Leaf: Show yourself!
Then a little purple rat pops out of the bush, they all sighed as Speed takes out his pokedex.
Pokedex: Rattata (Male) : The Mouse Pokemon's sharp teeth can cut through rock in an instant.
Speed: Hm so it's a Rattata.
Speed bends down to the Rattata and it backs away from him.
Speed: Hey little guy. I'm not going to hurt you, don't worry.
Rattata was still scared as it kept on backing away. Leaf then comes over with some bread.
Leaf: Are you hungry?
Rattata then slowly walks over to Leaf and takes the bread before scurrying away.
Leaf: Hey wait!
She then gave chase to the Rattata with Squirtle following.
Speed: Leaf wait!
Shinx: Shinx (Squirtle!)
Bulbasaur: Bulba (Stop!)
They both ran into the wood right behind Leaf and Squirtle until they got to a clearing where they lost track of him.
Leaf: Where did that Rattata go?
Speed: I don't know but I think we should get back. It's getting pretty dark.
Leaf: Maybe you're right.
They were about to leave when they heard squeaks behind them. They turned around and saw the Rattata giving the bread to a Venomat. Leaf then takes her pokedex out.
Pokedex: Venonat (Female) the Insect pokemon. Lives in the shadows of tall trees where it eats insects. It is attracted by light at night.
Leaf: That's a Venonat. It looks like Rattata wanted to give some food.
Speed: That's cool. They look cute together.
Leaf giggles a little as they keep on watching from the bushes. The Venonat finishes eating the bread and hugs Rattata which he hugs back.
Leaf: Aw so cute.
As she says that a net was fired onto the Venonat and Rattata causing them all to scream. A woman with raspberry hair, a black dress with an R on her chest comes out from the shadows. She pulls out a radio slinging the net over her shoulders.
?: Rattata and Venonat secured.
?: Bring them back to base.
?: Yes sir.
Speed, Leaf, and their pokemon then jumped out of the bush and confronted the lady.
Speed: Hey! Let go of those pokemon this instant!
Leaf: Yeah they did nothing wrong!
?: Some kids are trying to get in the way of my plans. Heh! These pokemon are coming with me for some… playtime.
Speed: Like that going to happen! Let's do this Shinx and Bulbasaur!
Shinx and Bulbasaur jumped in front of him in a battle stance.
Leaf: You too Squirtle!
Squirtle got beside the other also in a battle stance.
?: If it's a battle you want it's a battle you're gonna get. Growlithe and Grimer take care of these kids.
She tosses to pokeballs and Growlithe and Grimer pop out ready for a fight.
?: Name Amanda by the way like we're gonna see each other again.
They both growled at the lady as they both took out their pokedexs.
Speed Pokedex: Growlithe (Male) the Puppy pokemon. It has a brave and trustworthy nature. It fearlessly stands up to bigger and stronger foes.
Leaf Pokedex: Grimer (Male) the Sludge Pokemon. Made of congealed sludge. It smells too putrid to touch. Even weeds won't grow in its path.
Speed: Ok I'll handle sludge pile, you'll handle the pup.
Leaf: Right!
Speed: Shinx uses Spark and Bulbasaur used Razor leaf.
Shinx charges his body in electricity and charges at Grimer as Bulbasaur uses a razor leaf.
Leaf: Squirtle Water Gun!
Squirtle builds water in his mouth before firing in at Growlithe. Amanda narrows her eyes.
Amanda: Growlithe, dodge and Fire Fang the Shinx!
Growlithe dodged the Water Gun and as Shinx was coming for Grimer fully charged, he bit down onto him with Fire Fang.
Speed: Shinx!
But due to Shinx Spark he got electrocuted and sent back putting him in the yellow. The razor leaf still coming nailed in Grimer sending his health in the yellow.
Speed: Shinx you ok?
Shinx got up and nodded as Speed nodded back.
Speed: Ok Bulbasaur leech seed the both of them.
Bulbasaur launches the seeds at them, making them attack and start to drain their health.
Leaf: Now Squirtle! Water Gun!
Squirtle fired another water gun knocking out Growlithe due to the type advantage.
Amanda: NO! I'm losing to a couple of kids!
Speed: Hey we're 16!
Amanda: Whatever, Grimer Sludge.
Grimer fires a ball of sludge at their pokemon. Shinx and Squirtle dodge out of the way but Bulbasaur takes the blow but not taking much damage.
Speed: Shinx another Spark!
Leaf: Squirtle, Water Gun again!
Squirtle and Shinx fired their attacks and nailed Grimer in the stomach knocking him back with swirls in his eyes.
Amanda growled and saw a razor leaf firing at her and the net being cut loose. Rattata and Venonat got behind the heroes.
Amanda: You'll pay for this! Team Rocket will never fall!
Speed/Leaf: Team Rocket?
Amanda starts to run away.
Speed: Hey get back here!
He went to chase her as Rattata ran past him and used Bite on her shoulder.
Amanda: Get off me you rat!
Venonat then uses Tackle on her legs, sending her to the ground.
Speed/Leaf: ThunderShock/ Bubble!
They fired their attacks, sending her into the sky.
Amanda: So this is how it feels to lose to a bunch of kids!
She then flies into the sky with a gleam.
Speed: You guys did awesome!
All their pokemon cheered as Rattata and Venonat came by their side.
Leaf: You two did awesome.
Rattata lifts his head up in pride and Venonat squeaks happily. They both then take out a pokeball.
Speed: Will you like to come with us?
Leaf: There are plenty to eat.
They both look at each other before cheering and nodding their heads.
Speed/Leaf: Go pokeballs!
They throw their pokeballs at them, capturing them.
Speed: Yeah I caught a Rattata!
He then looks at Leaf waiting for her.
Leaf: Ugh fine…. Awesome! I caught a Nanonat!
Speed and their pokemon laugh and then return to their campsite.
Speed: Team Rocket huh? They must be trouble.
Leaf: Yeah must be but we shouldn't worry about them now. Let's get some sleep.
Speed: Yeah sure.
They climb into their sleeping bags with their pokemon sleeping around them, say their good nights and fall asleep.
???
Amanda: I'm sorry ma'am but I was unable to retrieve the pokemon.
Amanda was bowing to her leader who was staring away from her in the dark.
Mystery Woman: I would not acknowledge failure Amanda. I gave you the simplest of tasks and you brought me nothing and you were stopped by kids no matter what.
Amanda: Please I won't fail you again, I gave my life for the organization.
Mystery Woman: You better not now leave!
Amanda scurried out of the room as the Mystery Women walked to her desk and brought out a picture of someone.
Mystery Woman: I won't fail you again.
The picture was of the former leader: Giovanni.
The End
Speed: One of my shorter chapters but still good.
