Chapter 11

Amphibia Part 2

Today was the day of the battle for Amphibia! After waking up, Molly and Libby got geared up in armor of their own before meeting up with Sasha and the rest of Wartwood's citizens. Sasha and Grime stood in front of the crowd as they were ready to go over the battle strategy.

"Alright, listen up, everyone!" Sasha got everyone's attention. "Today is the day we take the fight to Andrias! Now, it appears that the Heartless are now hiding in a nearby forest that wasn't destroyed by Andrias' army yet. Molly and Libby, since you two have experience fighting the Heartless you will join Anne and Sprig to fight off these monsters while Captain Grime and I deal with the robots nearby!"

"We won't let you down, Sasha!" Molly replied as she and Libby got their keyblades ready.

Once everyone was ready, Sasha and Grime led the army through the swamp. This went on for a couple of moments before Molly and Libby approached the forest Sasha wanted them to investigate.

That was when they knew that it was time for them to separate from the rest of the army. It still brought them comfort, knowing that Anne and Sprig would accompany them. Anne and Sprig soon took this time to say goodbye to their friends and family.

"Good luck in there, Anne!" Sasha wished her friend luck.

"You too, Sasha!" Anne smiled before she decided to say goodbye to her frog family. "Don't worry, guys! Sprig and I have Molly and Libby to protect us from the Heartless! We'll be reunited before you know it!"

"Just be careful in there, you two!" Hop Pop said, concerned for Anne and Sprig.

"And make sure you kick some Heartless butt too!" Polly exclaimed.

With a chuckle, Anne replied, "Will do! Are you ready, Sprig?"

"I always am!" Sprig eagerly replied, ready for adventure.

As the group began to split apart, Sasha and Grime, drew their swords as they got ready for battle. It wasn't long before the robots came into view as they were about to attack.

"Are you prepared for battle, Lieutenant?" Grime asked Sasha with a confident smirk.

"Do you even need to ask?" Sasha gave a confident smile as well before she and Grime charged into battle.

Meanwhile, Molly and Libby traveled with Anne and Sprig, each of them prepared for the worst. As they traveled deeper in the forest, they encountered all kinds of frog Heartless.

Thankfully, fighting them last night taught them how to fight back against them. Sprig fired rocks at them with his slingshot, giving Molly, Libby, and Anne the chance to defeat them with their swords. Before long, Molly and her friends managed to defeat the last of the Heartless in the forest.

"Is that all of them?" Anne asked, finishing off one last Heartless with her sword.

"I think so!" Libby answered. "Hopefully, Sasha and the others won't get ambushed by the Heartless now."

Just when everyone thought it was safe, they took notice of something hiding in the darkness. Molly and Libby squinted their eyes at the figure, expecting to see another Heartless. Instead, they encountered something much out of the shadows was a certain old man Molly and Libby hoped they would never see again.

"Xehanort!" Molly and Libby gasped before raising their keyblades in defense.

With a sinister grin, Xehanort approached Molly and Libby, appearing to be not the least bit intimidated by their keyblades.

"I see that you two have improved since we last met! However, it still won't be enough for you to combat the darkness." said Xehanort.

"Hey, who the heck is that guy?" Anne whispered to Molly and Libby.

"His name is Xehanort!" Molly answered. "He has been causing trouble for our friends the moment we met him!"

"And I see that your new friends are now at war with the newt king." Xehanort noticed. "It must be hard knowing that any of your friends could perish at any moment! This all reminds me of an ancient war from long ago known as the Keyblade War! It has been said that keyblade wielders have battled each other over the all powerful X-blade, a weapon capable of unlocking the heart of all worlds, Kingdom Hearts!"

"Uh, no offense, but we're kind of in the middle of a completely different war right now." Sprig interrupted, clearly not interested in this Keyblade War.

"Very well! I'll let you continue in your fight against the darkness, but I wonder how well you are able to fight this last Heartless!" Without another word, Xehanort disappeared into a corridor of darkness, leaving Amphibia.

Once Xehanort left, Molly and her friends were left wondering what Xehanort meant when he mentioned the last Heartless. They soon got their answer when they took notice of a pair of yellow eyes belonging to a Heartless. They all got ready to fight before they were taken by surprise when more yellow eyes appeared in the darkness.

Suddenly, a bunch of legs crawled out of the darkness, revealing that the eyes belonged to a spider-like Heartless. Everyone gazed at the spider in shock as it slowly approached them.

"A spider? Why did it have to be a spider of all things?" Molly complained, remembering her bad experience with a spider.

The spider soon attacked as it fired a string of webbing, capturing Molly in it. Molly screamed as the spider pulled her closer, trapping her in a giant spider web.

"Molly!" Libby yelled as the spider used its webs to pin Molly's arms and legs together.

Once it was done wrapping up Molly, the spider directed its eyes towards Libby, much to her dismay. Despite how scary the spider was, Libby was not going to let her fear get the best of her. After all, Molly was in danger. After taking a deep breath, Libby stopped trembling and glared at the spider.

"Let go of Molly now!" Libby aimed her keyblade at the spider Heartless. The Heartless then got closer to Libby, raising its pincers in a threatening manner. "I don't care how scary you are! I am not going to let you hurt Molly!"

"L-Libby." Molly started to blush as she couldn't help but find Libby kind of attractive seeing her this brave.

Determined to rescue Molly, Libby charged towards the spider, along with Anne and Sprig. While Sprig was firing rocks at the spider, Libby used her fire magic to burn the webs around the spider. This caused the spider to fall off, giving Anne the chance to attack it with her sword.

Furious, the spider trying biting Anne, but that just kept it distracted long enough for Libby to perform the finishing blow on it. Once Libby defeated the spider with her keyblade, the Heartless disappeared as a giant heart floated in the air.

With the spider gone, Libby ran up to Molly and freed her from the webs wrapped around her.

Even though Molly was free, Libby noticed that she was still trembling. "Are you okay, Molly? You still seem to be freaked out by that spider."

"I'm f-fine, L-Libby." Molly tried to assured her girlfriend. "That spider just brought back a lot of bad memories for me! Do you remember when I called you on the day of your dentist appointment? Well, that was the day I was left alone with Darryl's pet tarantula, Heidi Hairylegs! I guess I still hadn't gotten over seeing Heidi give birth to thousands of baby spiders!"

Hearing this surprised Libby. She knew that Molly was having a tough time since Scratch wasn't with her that day, but she never would have thought it was that bad.

"Don't worry, Molly! The Heartless is gone now! You don't have to worry about spiders anymore!" Libby assured.

Molly soon smiled. "Thank you, Libby! And thanks for saving me!"

It was at that moment when Molly took Libby by surprise by giving her a tight hug and kissing her on the lips. Soon Libby happily kissed Molly back, much to Anne and Sprig's amusement.

"Alright, you two lovebirds! Let's get a move on! We should be meeting up with Sasha and the others pretty soon!" Anne said before she led everyone out of the forest.

Once they were out of the forest, Molly and Libby were ready for their battle with King Andrias before they took notice of something in the sky. Flying above them was a giant castle. An army of robots flew out of the castle and landed on the ground nearby as they were joined by the Heartless.

"Is this King Andrias' castle?" Molly asked.

Anne nodded. "It is. Marcy is in there, and this is our one chance to save her!"

"Don't worry, Anne! Molly and I promise that we will help save Marcy!" Libby promised.

"Libby is right, Anne! We are all with you until the end!" Sprig said with an encouraging smile.

Grateful for her friends, Anne replied, "Thanks, guys! Now let's finish this war!"

At that moment, Molly and her friends drew their weapons, ready for battle. They knew that they should be ready for anything because this was going to be their toughest battle yet!
