Chapter 15
The Boiling Isles Part 2
As the Day of Unity got closer, Molly and her friends have been preparing for their battle with Belos. While Molly and Libby joined Luz and the others in infiltrating the Blight Industries factory, Eda, along with other witches rebelling against Belos came up with a plan to stop the Day of Unity.
They decided that Eda should corrupt the draining spell, using her curse. As reluctant as Luz was to leave Eda, she assured Luz that everything was going to be fine. They gave each other one last hug before going their separate ways.
As Molly and Libby traveled with Luz, Amity, King, Willow, and Gus, they all took notice of the factory in the distance.
"So, is this the factory where all those abominations are being made?" Molly asked Amity.
Amity nodded. "Yes. My mom created abominations fused with robots called, abomatons If we can stop the production, Belos can't be provided with extra security. We just need to figure out how to sneak in."
"Just leave it to me!" Gus said as he used his illusion magic to disguise him and his friends as Coven Scouts.
Libby looked at her new attire in surprise. "Wow! That's amazing, Gus!"
"Even if we are disguised, we should still be careful." Willow cautioned. "Who knows what other abominations are being made at the factory."
Once they were ready, Molly and her friends made their way to the factory in their new disguises. Before they entered the factory, Luz stopped King at the last second.
"Stay here, King. It's safer. If anyone asks, you're guarding the perimeter." Luz said as she put a scout mask on King.
"Um, okay." King agreed, despite not feeling comfortable with that plan.
Molly and her friends soon entered the factory as they took notice of all kinds of machinery used to create the abomatons. They sneaked through the factory before coming across a door.
"That's my dad's workroom." Amity whispered.
Luz soon looked through the window of the door. "It looks empty and really sad."
Molly and her friends were so distracted, they didn't realize that someone was behind them. "Honestly, Amity! You know that this room is off limits!"
Everyone soon turned to see that they were face to face with Amity's mom, Odalia. They had no idea how she managed to see through their disguises. Despite that, Molly still decided to play dumb.
"Amity? Sorry, there are no Amitys around here!" Molly lied with a nervous grin.
Without even giving them a chance to explain themselves, Odalia casted a spell that got rid of Gus's illusion spell, reverting everyone's clothes back to normal.
The next thing they knew, Molly and her friends were trapped in a giant forcefield with each of their hands restrained by goo from the abominations. As everyone struggled to free themselves, Amity tried to reason with her mom.
"Can't you see you are helping Belos destroy everything?"
"Really, Mittens!" Odalia sighed, referring to Amity by her nickname. "I am tired of all this drama. Are you trying to make me look bad?"
"Please listen!" Libby spoke up. "We are just trying to save the witches from the Day of Unity!"
"Quiet! I do not take orders from a worthless brat like you!" Odalia snapped.
Furious for what she said about Libby, Molly ran to the edge of the forcefield to where she was face to face with Odalia.
"Hey! Don't you dare speak to my girlfriend like that, Odalia!" Molly yelled.
Seeing this surprised Amity. She had never seen Molly so angry before, not that she blamed her. If her mom spoke to Luz like that, she would react the same way. Despite the situation she was in, Libby smiled, grateful to Molly for standing up for her.
"Molly, thank you!" Libby blushed.
"I grow tired of this! Amity, I will deal with you after I finish the rest of the abomatons." Odalia soon walked away.
As Molly and Libby tried to find a way out of the forcefield, they took notice of King, who was standing next to a man, who was Amity's dad, Alador. At first, they thought King got captured as well. Much to their surprise, Alador pressed a button on a device, causing the forcefield to disappear. Before long, everyone realized what was going on.
"Dad?" Amity was surprised that her dad was helping her.
"What is the meaning of this, Alador?" Oldalia yelled at her husband.
"Odalia, the Emperor is planning to wipe out everyone with a draining spell, and our abomatons are helping him do it!" Alador explained. When Odalia didn't appear fazed by this revelation in the slightest, Alador knew exactly what she was thinking. "You already knew?"
"What he does with our products is none of our business." Odalia dismissed Alador's concerns. "What is my business is keeping our family ahead of the rest. With the Emperor's favor, we'll live like royalty in the new world! Crowns and everything!"
Alador couldn't believe what he was hearing. He knew that his wife cared about her reputation, but he never thought she would go this far. "This is too much, even for you!"
At that moment, Alador controlled the abomatons as they surrounded Odalia. In response, Odalia summoned a spirit from her amulet and used the spirit to swipe the device, allowing her control of the abomatons.
After freeing themselves from their restraints, Molly and Libby summoned their keyblades and freed the rest of their friends. At that moment, Luz and her friends fought back against the abomatons with their magic. Molly and Libby charged at the abomatons with their keyblades, dodging the cannon shots that were fired at them. They swung their keyblades, defeating as many monsters as they could.
Despite their best efforts, the group of friends found themselves surrounded by an army of abomatons under Odalia's control.
"Do not try to resist! This is what's best for the family!" said Odalia.
"What's best for the family is putting an end to all this!" Alador soon summoned the hands of an abomination before using them to knock down the abomatons.
The destruction of the abomatons caused Odalia to let go of the device as she ran towards her fallen creations. Seeing his chance, Alador picked up the device and shut down the robots. Odalia soon stood up before glaring at her husband.
"You are destroying our life's work, but I won't let you destroy it any further!"
Odalia was about to fight back before she realized that she was outnumbered.
"This work is finished. Also, I quit!" Alador countered.
Seeing that there was no point to fighting, Odalia decided to retreat. "Fine! I've been meaning to find a more competent business partner, anyway! And you won't be getting your severance package!"
With that, Odalia disappeared in a cloud of smoke as she made her escape. Once the fight was over, everyone began to relax as Molly and Libby put their keyblades away.
"Oh, Titan! That was terrifying!" Alador sighed.
"I couldn't agree more!" Libby agreed, still trying to get over that encounter with Odalia. "Thank you for saving us, Mr. Blight!"
"Don't mention it! Are you all okay?"
"Yes, we are all fine!" Molly assured as the rest of her friends nodded in agreement.
"Good!" Alador then turned to face his daughter. "Amity, I know that I haven't been the best father, but I promise that things are going to change. I promise to spend more time with you, Edric, and Emira."
Touched by his words, Amity started to tear up before hugging her father. "I love you, Dad!"
"I love you too, Mittens!" Alador hugged his daughter back. "And Luz, I apologize for Odalia! You are always welcome at our home!"
"I appreciate it, Mr. Blight!" Luz smiled, happy to be on good terms with Amity's father.
"Hey, this is all really sweet and everything, but how are we going to make it to the Day of Unity on time?" Willow asked.
As Willow asked that, everyone realized that they had no means of transport.
"That's right! How are we going to meet up with Eda and the others?" King asked.
"That won't be a problem! I can take us wherever you need to go, using one of my airships!" Alador explained.
"Then what are we waiting for! Let's go!" Gus exclaimed before Alador led the group of friends to the airship.
Once everyone boarded the ship, Alador started the engine and the airship ascended into the sky. The airship soon took off as Molly and Libby got ready to stop the Day of Unity.
