Chapter 17
Danville Part 1
With their travels in the Boiling Isles over, Molly and Libby piloted Mollibby through space in search of their next world. They had both been shaken up from their last encounter with Xehanort. It was at that point when they knew that Xehanort was a bigger threat than ever if he was able to manipulate Belos to the point where he got consumed by the darkness. The last words that Xehanort said to them didn't make them feel any better either.
"Are you still thinking about what Xehanort said to us, Molly?" Libby asked.
Molly nodded. "Yes. I wonder what he meant when he said my light is pure."
"Well, knowing Xehanort, it wouldn't surprise me if he has some plan involving the darkness!" Libby guessed. "We'd better be careful if we see him again."
"You're right, Libby!" Molly agreed before taking a look out the window. "Hey, I think I just found a new world for us to explore!"
Upon taking notice of the new world, Molly and Libby landed their gummi ship. They got out to see that they were standing in a normal looking neighborhood. They walked around and were relieved to see that their were no Heartless around.
"There are no signs of Heartless anywhere! Maybe this world is safe from the darkness! What do you think, Libby?" Molly didn't get a response from Libby. "Libby?"
Molly turned around to see that Libby was staring at something with her mouth hanging open in surprise.
"Libby, what are you looking-" Molly turned to where Libby was looking at and stared in surprise as well.
Right in a random backyard stood a giant tower, with each floor consisting of various rides one would see at an amusement park. They both stared at it in amazement.
"Sweet baby corn! This is incredible!" Molly exclaimed.
"I wonder who built it! Let's check it out!" Libby suggested.
The girls soon opened the gate to the backyard to get a closer look. It was at that moment when they took notice of a couple of boys working on the tower. One of them had an orange and white striped shirt, along with a pair of blue shorts and had red hair on his triangle shaped head. The other boy was slightly taller and wore a cream colored shirt and a pair of purple overalls with green hair.
"Okay, Ferb! Looks like our fun tower is just about ready!" said the boy with the red hair. "Now all that's left is to test it!"
Curious, Molly and Libby stepped closer as they wondered who those boys were.
"Um, excuse me." Libby spoke up, gaining the attention of the boys.
"Oh, hello!" the boy in the striped shirt waved. "I've never seen you before! Are you new to Danville?"
"I guess we are! Libby and I were just wondering about that tower in your backyard." Molly explained.
"Oh, that is a fun tower that Ferb and I just made! We've all heard of a fun house, but what about a fun tower? Each floor has a different amusement park ride, that would give passengers guaranteed fun!"
Hearing this surprised Molly and Libby. The fact that two children were able to make that tower with a variety of amusement park rides was incredible.
"Wait, are you saying that you two built this tower?" Libby asked.
"Aren't you two a little young to be constructing a giant tower in your backyard?" Molly raised a confused eyebrow.
"Yes! Yes, we are! My name is Phineas, by the way, and this is my brother, Ferb!" Phineas introduced as Ferb waved to Molly and Libby.
After getting over there surprise from the building Phineas and Ferb made, Molly and Libby decided to introduce each other.
"It's nice to meet you! My name is Molly McGee!" Molly introduced.
"And I'm her best friend, Libby Stein-Torres!" said Libby. "So, this might sound like a strange question, but have either of you seen any shadow creatures with these yellow eyes?"
"Not that I know of." Phineas replied. "What about you, Ferb? Have you seen anything like that?"
"Not unless they are referring to them." Ferb pointed to a bunch of Heartless that just appeared.
The moment Molly and Libby saw the Heartless, they quickly summoned their keyblades, determined to protect Phineas and Ferb from the Heartless.
"Quick! Hide!" Molly told Phineas and Ferb, who did as she said by hiding behind a tree.
The Heartless immediately swarmed the tower Phineas and Ferb made and began to destroy it.
"Hey, leave it alone! Phineas and Ferb worked hard on it!" Libby yelled.
While the Heartless were distracted, Molly and Libby defeated them with their keyblades, but it was too late since the tower was already gone.
More Heartless soon appeared shortly afterwards. They were even smaller than the Heartless Molly and Libby were used to fighting and were driving vehicles resembling toy cars. They all drove around Molly and Libby and got ready to attack. Thankfully, the girls were quick and managed to defeat them by casting their fire spells on all of them at once.
Once they were sure that it was safe to come out, Phineas and Ferb got out from behind the tree, both of them surprised by what they just saw.
"Wow! That was so cool!" Phineas exclaimed. "Thanks for saving us!"
"You're welcome, Phineas! I'm sorry we couldn't save your project!" Molly apologized.
"Don't worry about it! Our inventions end up disappearing at the end of the day, anyway!" Phineas assured.
After the fight with the Heartless, a teenage girl stepped out of the house to see what all of the commotion was about. She had orange colored hair and wore a red tank top along with a white skirt.
"Hey, what is going on out here?" the girl yelled. "I can't even think with all the noise outside!"
"Sorry, Candace!" Phineas apologized. "Ferb and I were just spending time with our new friends!"
Upon meeting the girl, Molly and Libby decided to introduce themselves.
"Hello! My name is Molly and this is my best friend, Libby!" Molly introduced.
"Yeah, hi!" Candace briefly acknowledged Molly and Libby before bringing her attention back to her brothers. "Listen, you two, I am expecting a call from Jeremy later, so I don't want to hear anymore noise outside! Also, keep Perry out of my room!"
At that moment, Candace handed Phineas and Ferb a teal colored platypus before walking back inside.
"Hey, who is this little guy?" Molly asked, taking notice of Perry.
"This is our pet platypus, Perry!" Phineas introduced. "He doesn't do much, but he is the best pet platypus Ferb and I can ask for!"
"Aww! That's so cute! I'm more of a turtle girl myself, but Perry seems to be a wonderful pet!" Libby smiled.
"He sure is! Ferb and I need to protect him in case those monsters come back!" Phineas explained.
Seeing that Phineas and Ferb were willing to do anything to keep their pet safe warmed Molly and Libby's hearts. It made them wish that they could have protected their loved ones before they were forced to leave Brighton.
"Don't worry! Libby and I will help defeat the Heartless!" Molly assured.
"Really? That's great! It's just too bad that they could be all over Danville at this point!" Phineas said before he came up with an idea. "Hey, Ferb! I know what we're going to do today! We're going to help save Danville!"
Once Phineas said that, he and his brother got to work on their latest contraption. It consisted of a variety of shining lights to help combat against the darkness. Both, Molly and Libby watched in awe as Phineas and Ferb added the lights to a giant rollercoaster they just built.
While everyone was distracted, Perry looked around to make sure nobody was watching him before he put a fedora on his head. He sneaked over to the tree before knocking on it a couple of times. This revealed a secret entrance, so he jumped inside before anyone saw him.
"This rollercoaster is incredible!" Molly exclaimed as she and Libby were watching Phineas and Ferb build their latest contraption.
"Thanks, Molly! Believe it or not, this isn't the first time Ferb and I built it! With this rollercoaster, we can go anywhere in Danville in the blink of an eye!" Phineas soon looked around and realized that Perry wasn't around. "Hey, where's Perry?"
Molly and Libby searched around for the platypus, but didn't see him anywhere!
"Don't worry! I'll find Perry for you! I'll be back soon, Molly!" Libby said before giving her girlfriend a goodbye kiss and beginning her search.
While Molly was helping Phineas and Ferb with their invention, Libby searched the backyard before she took notice of the secret entrance in the tree. Curious, Libby took a closer look before she fell through the secret entrance.
Libby screamed as she fell down a tube. After falling for what felt like forever, Libby landed on the floor and found herself in an unfamiliar room. She looked up and was shocked to find Perry in a fedora. He was sitting in a chair, staring at a giant monitor in front of him. Fearful of what's going on, Libby hid herself in a corner, silently wondering what she just got herself into.
The monitor soon turned on and a man appeared on screen. From what Libby could see from her hiding spot, he had white hair along with a matching white mustache and a grey monobrow on his forehead. The man also wore a green shirt with the initials, M.M written in purple.
"There you are, Agent P!" The man on the screen spoke. "It seems that Dr. Doofenshmirtz has been working on a new inator. We don't have much intel on what this new inator does, but it seems to be able to control darkness."
Upon hearing what the man said, Libby let out a soft gasp before placing a hand over her mouth so nobody would hear her. She leaned in closer to hear what the man had to say, but ended up tripping, giving away her hiding spot.
Both, Perry and the man on the screen, brought their attention over to Libby, surprised that she managed to find her way here. Now that she had been discovered, Libby got back up with a nervous smile.
"Uh, hello. I'm Libby."
"Oh, for crying out loud! Carl, I thought you fixed the glitches in those secret entrances!" the man yelled before a boy with glasses and curly hair appeared on screen as well.
"I thought I did too, sir!" the boy named, Carl defended.
Before the man could argue with Carl, Libby spoke up. "Excuse me, but where am I, and why is Perry wearing a hat?"
Seeing that Libby already discovered Perry's secret identity, the man knew that he had no choice but to tell her what was going on.
"It seems that I don't have a choice. I am Major Monogram, one of the leaders of O.W.C.A, an animal organization meant to fight evil." the man explained. "This is supposed to be a secret organization, so I'm afraid we are going to have to erase your memory of what you just saw!"
Libby's eyes widened in fear at the idea of getting her memory erased. "Isn't there a less scary solution?"
"I'm sorry, but this organization needs to be kept a secret!" Major Monogram replied.
"Wait! I can help you! I overheard what you said about the darkness! I have been fighting the darkness for a long time and I know what to do! Maybe you can make me a secret agent of your organization!"
The room remained silent as Major Monogram considered Libby's offer.
"Hmm. It is very rare when we have a human agent as a part of the agency, but what the heck! You will be joining Agent P in his mission. We just need to get you a fedora to wear."
"Oh, that won't be necessary!" Libby said before she put on her own trench coat and fedora. "Just call me, The Bloodhound of Truth!" Libby smiled as she posed triumphantly.
"If that is what you wish. I am not going to lie. This mission can be very dangerous!" Major Monogram warned.
"Don't worry! Molly and I are used to battling the darkness. I can go get her and she'll join us!"
Libby was about to rush outside before Major Monogram stopped her at the last second. "Whoa! Whoa! This is a secret organization, remember? That means you can't tell anyone about us. I'm sorry, but your friend can't come with you on this mission."
It was at that moment when Libby stopped in her tracks.
"Wait, are you saying that if I want to help, I have to leave Molly." Libby was saddened by the idea of being separated from Molly.
They had both been through so much and had always been by each others side. As much as it pained her to do so, Libby knew that she would have to be separated from Molly for awhile in order to help out on this mission. Despite that, she still had faith that she would be reunited with her girlfriend soon.
"I understand." Libby finally gave in.
"Very well. Agent P, you and Libby will go to Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated and find out what Doofenshmirtz is up to." Major Monogram ordered.
Both Perry and Libby raised their hands up to their foreheads in a salute.
"We won't let you down, Major Monogram!" Libby declared before she followed Perry to his hover jet.
The both got in as Perry pushed various buttons to activate it. Once Perry started up his vehicle, it off into the sky.
Perry soon rode the hover jet through town in pursuit of Doofenshmirtz's lair. As Libby prepared for her mission, she silently hoped that Molly would be okay without her for awhile.
