Chapter 18

Danville Part 2

As Libby was flying above Danville with Perry, she started to worry about Molly. After leaving unexpectedly, she hoped that Molly wouldn't be too worried about her. To ease her worries, Libby decided to have a conversation with Perry.

"So, have you always been a secret agent?" Libby asked. "I don't think I have ever seen a secret agent platypus before!"

Despite Libby wanting to make small talk, Perry clearly wasn't interested in listening as he focused on driving, trying to tune out Libby.

"I have never rode in a hover jet before either!" Libby continued. "Is it one of the vehicles O.W.C.A provides you with or-"

At that moment, Perry interrupted Libby by placing a hand over her mouth, making it clear that he wants her to stop talking.

Libby soon pulled away with an annoyed look. "Alright! I'll stop talking! Sheesh! I think I liked you better as a regular platypus!"

Once they were close to their destination, Perry pointed to a random building in front of him.

"Oh, are you saying we are here already?" Libby asked.

Curious, Libby looked to where Perry was pointing at to see a tall building in front of her, followed by jingle that sang, "Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated!"

Confused, Libby looked around, wondering where the singing was coming from.

"Uh, I'm not the only one who heard that, right?" Libby asked Perry. Instead of answering, Perry drove the hover jet towards the building at full speed, much to Libby's dismay. "W-W-Wait! Slow down! I get airsick!"

Once Perry landed the hover jet, he jumped out, ready to confront Doofenshmirtz. The evil scientist just got finished building his latest inator before he took notice of his arch-nemesis.

"Ah! Perry the Platypus! How unexpected, and by unexpected, I mean completely expected!" Doofenshmritz gave an evil grin.

Before Perry could have his battle with his arch-nemesis, Libby stepped out of the hover jet dazed and confused. She stumbled towards Perry, doing her best to keep her balance.

"Next time warn me before you drive that fast!" Libby begged.

"Oh, who's your friend?" Doofenshmirtz asked, meeting Libby for the first time.

After getting over her daze, Libby stood tall to introduce herself. "My name is Libby Stein-Torres! But you may call me, The Bloodhound of Truth!" Libby introduced before she struck a triumphant pose once again.

"The Bloodhound of Truth?" Doofenshmirtz repeated. "Does the name mean you are part Bloodhound?"

Libby soon gave Doofenshmirtz a confused look. "What? No! Where would you get that idea from?"

"Sorry! Just wondering! I always considered myself to be part ocelot because I was raised by a family of ocelots as a child!" Doofenshmirtz explained.

Weirded out by what she heard, Libby leaned over to Perry and whispered, "Is he always this strange?", to which Perry nodded in response.

"Anyway, I am Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz! I'm sure that Perry the Platypus has told you all about me!" Doofenshmritz guessed.

Libby shook her head. "Um, no! He doesn't really talk."

"Well, if he did, he would probably tell you how everything works around here! I end up trapping him before explaining my evil plan!" Doofenshmirtz explained.

"Trapping him?"

Before Libby could ask Doofenshmritz what he meant by that, he pressed a button, causing a cage to fall, trapping Perry in it.

"Perry!" Libby gasped in shock. "Don't worry I'll save you!"

She tried to get Perry out of the cage, but ended up tripping, giving Doofenshmirtz the chance to capture her as well. With everything going from bad to worse, Libby wished that Molly was here to help her.

Meanwhile, Molly was helping Phineas and Ferb with the finishing touches on their invention. As she helped Phineas and Ferb, Molly noticed that Libby still hadn't returned. Molly started to worry, and hoped nothing bad happened to her.

"What's wrong, Molly?" Phineas asked, noticing Molly's worried expression.

"It's been awhile since Libby started looking for Perry, and I'm starting to worry about her." Molly explained.

"Don't worry! Perry always disappears and ends up coming back! I'm sure that Libby will be back as well!" Phineas assured. "We can go looking for them as we ride the rollercoaster through Danville!"

As Phineas and Ferb were just about finished with the rollercoaster, Candace stepped outside, shocked to see the rollercoaster again.

"Phineas! Ferb! What are you doing?" Candace yelled.

"Oh, hi, Candace! Ferb and I are going to help Molly defeat the Heartless that are taking over Danville!" Phineas explained.

Candace growled, frustrated that her brothers couldn't give her a day of peace. "You two are unbelievable! This is the second time you've built this stupid rollercoaster!"

"Three times if you count the musical!" Ferb corrected.

"That's it! You two are so busted! I'm telling Mom!" Candace was about to leave the backyard to get her mom before Molly stopped her

"Candace, wait! It's too dangerous to go out their with the Heartless roaming around! I know that you only want to protect your brothers, but wouldn't it make more sense to stay with them to protect them from the Heartless!" Molly reasoned.

Candace opened her mouth to argue, but felt that Molly actually had a good point. With no other choice, Candace decided to join everyone in fighting the Heartless.

"Fine, but Phineas and Ferb are still busted once this is over!" Candace said as she sat down next to Molly on the rollercoaster. That was when Candace noticed that Libby was nowhere to be seen. "Hey, what happened to your friend? Libby, was it?"

"Oh, I'm not sure where Libby is. I haven't seen her since she went looking for Perry. I just hope she's okay!" Molly hoped.

Even though Candace didn't know Molly for very long, she could tell that Molly really cares for her best friend, and wanted to make her feel better.

"Hey, I'm sure that we will find her!" Candace tried to assure Molly.

"Yes, I'm sure that we will!" Molly replied with an optimistic smile. "She might not look like it, but Libby is strong and can take care of herself! I know that I will be reunited with Libby soon, and once I see her again, I'm going to give her the biggest hug ever!"

Before long, Phineas and Ferb finished up building the rollercoaster and sat down on the front seats.

"Okay! Looks like everything is ready!" Phineas announced. "Before we leave, it might be fair to warn you that this rollercoaster would be moving a lot faster than it usually does."

"Wait how fast are you talking about?" Candace asked, concerned.

She soon got her answer as the rollercoaster took off, leaving Molly and Candace screaming the whole ride.

Back at Doofensmirtz Evil Incorporated, Libby ended up getting tied up by Doofenshmirtz. No matter how much Libby struggled, she couldn't get out of her ropes. She couldn't even summon her keyblade to free herself.

"Well, capturing you was a lot easier than I thought, Bloodhound of Truth!" Doofenshmirtz commented. "I remember times when Perry the Platypus at least put up a fight before getting captured!"

With an annoyed look, Libby yelled, "Give me a break! This is my first time as a secret agent! Besides, you probably wouldn't have captured me if my girlfriend was here to help!"

"If your girlfriend was here, you would both have to witness my latest invention!" Doofenshmirtz said as he walked over to a sheet, covering his invention.

Doofenshmirtz removed the sheet from the invention, revealing it to be a giant laser. It was dark-purple in color and had the familiar sigil of the Heartless.

"Behold, the Darkness-Inator!"

Shocked by what she was looking at, Libby's eyes widened in fear.

"D-D-Darkness-Inator?" Libby stuttered.

"I know! Neat, right? I got the idea from some old man who paid me a visit earlier!" Doofenshmirtz recalled. "I think his name was Xeha- something!"

That was all Libby needed to hear to know who that old man was. It seemed that Xehanort has been spreading darkness in this world too.

"You should have seen him! He was just rambling on and on about the balance between light and darkness, and forging some kind of X-blade! I mean, you don't hear me rambling like that, don't you, Perry the Platypus?" Doofenshmirtz asked Perry, who's annoyed expression seemed to suggest otherwise. "With this inator. I can summon creatures of darkness who would help me take over the Tri-State Area!"

"No! You don't know how dangerous the Heartless are!" Libby yelled. "If you turn on that inator, they would end up consuming your heart!"

Despite Libby's warning, Doofenshmirtz dismissed her concerns. "I'm not worried! I am too smart to let myself be consumed by these shadow creatures! Now, it's time to call forth my new army!"

With that, Doofenshmirtz activated his Darkness-Inator before it fired a laser in the sky. The laser turned the once blue sky dark and cloudy. It was at that moment, when the Heartless climbed up the building and surrounded Doofenshmirtz.

"Welcome, my new army! With your help, we will take over and help me become the ruler of the Tri-State Area!" Doofenshmirtz announced, unaware of the true intentions of the Heartless.

Doofenshmirtz's confidence faded the moment the Heartless began to surround him. He started to get more fearful of the Heartless as they were ready to attack him.

"Aah! Get away!" Doofenshmirtz screamed as the Heartless chased him throughout the building.

Before long, the Heartless spread all over Danville. Molly was the first to notice this, even from riding a rollercoaster at max speed.

"Wh-What are those things?" Candace stuttered, once she noticed the Heartless rushing towards the rollercoaster.

"They are the Heartless!" Molly answered before summoning her keyblade. "Phineas! Ferb! Are the lights ready?"

"They are all charged up, Molly!" Phineas announced before he and Ferb grabbed on to the handles of the lights.

With no other choice, Candace decided to help out as she grabbed onto some lights to control as well. The Heartless got closer before everyone activated the lights.

The moment the lights hit the Heartless, they ended up disappearing. Molly helped out by firing a beam of light from her keyblade. This only made the Heartless angry, so they gave chase towards the rollercoaster.

As Molly helped everyone defeat the Heartless, she noticed that some of them were clinging to the side of the rollercoaster. Candace was soon taken by surprise when one of the Heartless climbed up and got ready to attack her. She let out a scream before Molly knocked the Heartless off with her keyblade.

"Whew! Thanks, Molly!" Candace breathed a sigh of relief before she continued to shine the light on the Heartless.

"There are too many of them!" Molly yelled as she fired more beams of light at the Heartless. "I've never seen so many Heartless before! They must be coming from somewhere."

"Perhaps they are coming from that building with the ominous beam." Ferb said as he pointed to Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, which had a beam of darkness emanating from it.

Molly took one look at it, and just knew that this was where they needed to go. If there was this much darkness, there was no doubt that Libby was there, trying to stop it.

"Phineas! Ferb! Do you think you can bring us to that building? I just somehow know that Libby is there!" Molly explained.

"Just leave it to us!" Phineas soon pressed a button, which moved the rollercoaster to a different track.

Once the rollercoaster was speeding towards the building, Molly gripped her keyblade tightly, knowing that she would be in for a tough battle.

Throughout the ride, all Molly could think about was Libby as she whispered, "Libby, please be okay!"
