August 15
All was silent in Ecruteak; midnight rendered the city silent and still. The only noise came from forest. The wind wove through branches, leaving silent whispers in its wake. Twigs and leaves crumbled and snapped from the stirrings of the creatures of the night. Diurnal Pokémon slept soundly while the nocturnal denizens crept through their world of darkness.
Looming over the sleeping populace like a spectral guardian was the old Tin Tower.
The sacred bells, hewn from sapphire crystals of the purest blue, adorned its interior; all that remained of the full set were three bells. The fourth bell having been long lost to the mists of time. The three bells chimed as the wind blew, sending a clear ethereal melody echoing across the night sky. Those bells heralded the arrival of the very Pokémon they had been created for.
Ho-oh resided within the top floor of the tower, roosting on the opposite end of the room, veiled in darkness and awaiting his three servants.
"I imagine you must all be wondering why I've summoned you here? Why I've neglected this area of the region for so long? What could possibly make me return after so much time has passed?" he asked.
"I created you each to be powerful but neither of you have achieved your full potential, even with your sacred forms. Long ago our brothers and sisters were shackled with restraints to our true strength so that we might coexist peacefully with these humans. I see now it was a mistake. The humans have abused this opportunity for peace and they shall pay for it with their blood," Ho-Oh announced. The white feathers of his breast took on a golden hue as light poured forth and filled the entirety of the room.
The golden glossy surface of an orb slowly emerged from our master's core. As the golden sphere emerged from him, beams of pure gold light played randomly across every surface of the room. As the orb drifted further and further from master's body the more the feathers of his breast dimmed until they were white once more.
Master lowered his head, the shining ball of light hovering just before his beak.
"You three might recognize this. It's what I used to revive and transform you into what you are now," Master replied before issuing the command that would change the face of history on the planet.
"Orb of Creation, I wish that all of human kind was dead!" Ho-Oh crowed.
"beep," the orb replied, flashing red before resuming its standard golden appearance.
Silence dominated the top of the tower, no one dared move. Seconds passed and the tension grew so intense that even Raikou could not without his curiosity.
"…Master…did…did it work?"
Ho-oh's eye sharply shifted to glare at the lightning dog, the intensity enough to force the beast to cower.
"Of course it didn't work! It's still here! If it had worked it would've disappeared. I must've said something wrong. Orb, I wish that every human was killed."
"beep," the orb sounded again.
"I…I don't understand," Ho-oh sputtered.
"Maybe you're forgetting something, Master?" Suicune offered.
"It's a simple request and then it happens. It's how I made the three of you!" their master snapped. The beast trio shrank to the ground, issuing a chorus of pitiful whines.
"It could be you're not being specific enough, Master," Entei dared utter.
Ho-oh opened his beak to retort, then clicked it back close. He soon adopted a thoughtful expression.
"You may be onto something, Entei. Okay then. Orb of creation, I wish that every human was killed with…I don't know, FIRE!"
"Beep," the crimson orb blared.
The feathery crest atop the phenhuang's head burst into flame.
"Lightning!
"Beep"
"Master…since it's an orb of creation. It may be that it cannot do anything that would remove something from this world," the dog of the northwind offered.
"I see Suicune. Very well. Orb, I demand that you CREATE giant boulders to fall above every human!"
"Beep."
Gouts of flame escaped the gaps in the phoenix's beak, the air around him shimmering. His beak was clenched so tightly, Raikou swore he saw cracks starting to snake across it.
"Maybe you cannot wish for something that harms another?" the thunder dog noticed and wanted nothing more than to run for the hills when his master abruptly faced him. The firebird sighed and looked back to the orb.
"Orb. Make every human…" The wish granting sphere started to glow green as the words came. "…fall."
The sphere floated there, the green light had disappeared and instead the golden glow seemed to cycle along its curve as it pondering their master's request. Each passing second felt as long as an era. The trio sat quietly. Watching. Waiting.
"…beep." The orb flashed crimson once again, albeit smaller than the last time.
"It's fucking fall. It would only be enough to wipe out the elderly!" Ho-oh hissed.
"Master, maybe we can cause harm to them, indirectly?" Entei put forth.
"Hmm, interesting idea. What do you have in mind, Entei?"
"Well, humans are so fragile, what if we "created" a sickness that slowly killed them.
"Fair point, Entei. Do you know of any human diseases that could kill them?"
The fire dog opened his mouth confidently, then his eyes widened, maw still open as sweat began pouring from his mane.
"I….I do not know any human diseases," the flame hound bowed his head in shame.
"Good try, Entei," Ho-oh consoled and looked at the orb.
"Orb, I wish for humanity to catch a disease!"
"Bip?" the orb burbled back, glowing purple.
"We may need to be specific," Raikou added.
"Worth a shot," Ho-oh relented. "Anyone? Does anyone here know a human disease?"
Suicune stepped forward confidently.
"I have heard the humans talk of having and giving each other a disease known as krabbys," the ice dog smiled knowingly.
"The pokemon." The fire bird deadpanned.
Suicune nodded.
"The red one. With claws."
Suicune nodded. "Yes master. Apparently they are very tiny and attack their private parts."
"Ew. No. We're not doing that. I need something that can kill them not irritate them. Anything else?"
Suicune shuffled back into the row with his brothers only for Raikou to step forth.
"What if we teleport every human into the sky and then it goes away and they fall, and die!"
Ho-oh looked at the orb expectantly. "You hear that, Orb? Will that work.
"Beep."
"Next!" Ho-oh yelled.
Entei jumped ahead. "We make the humans eat all their food and starve." Ho-oh suddenly perked up from his perch.
"That…that might actually-"
"-Beep."
"OH COME ON!"
"Beep."
"THAT WASN'T EVEN A WISH!"
"Beep."
"I have half a mind to wish for this thing to kill itself.
"Bip?" the orb replied, glowing purple.
"-But I won't," the phoenix hastily added.
"Bee…." the orb slowly powered down.
"Master, we create an army of Snorlax to eat all the human food and leave them with nothing. They will starve, and then die."
"That would work but then, what would we eat afterwards, Suicune?"
"Yes, yes. Of Course master. You are truly wise and knowledgeable.
"Beep."
"AHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!" the bird screeched.
2 HOURS LATER
"Master, what if we turned all the humans into Pokémon?"
4 HOURS LATER
"We could just go back in time to stop humans from being assholes."
6 HOURS LATER
The sun was now shining in the sky, humans from the city below scurried about from place to place, unaware of their immanent demise.
"Wait!" Suicune yelled, prompting his siblings and master to lift their heads in alarm. "Master, you mentioned something earlier."
"Yes," Ho-oh replied with feigned interest.
"Something about you, my brothers, and all of our kind have being shackled by something," the ice hound continued.
"Yes!" the phoenix's interest now growing.
"Something that made our attacks weaker."
"YES!" the firebird was beaming now, eyes glinting at the possibilities.
"Let us wish for the humans to be even weaker than our attacks!" Suicune proclaimed.
"Perfect! Orb I-"
"Beep."
Those from Ecruteak would never forget the day that the tower exploded.
