This little gem comes to us by Janus366. I hope you can appreciate the amount of effort this took for him since English doesn't always come easily to him. While the world after the undampening is hardly the nicest place in the world, it occurred to him that there might be some people who might find it to be a wonderland of opportunity.

In outer space orbiting around Earth, a small UFO circled around the planet on an important mission.

"So, how are the observations? Does it seem like the planet is starting to recover from the Undampening?" Asked one of the two Clefairy crewing the ship.

"It seems so." The other replied. "It may take decades, especially on the worst affected regions, but eventually the ecosystem should recover and return to a semblance of normality. Still, there is a lot of conflict down there which may still cause some damage."

The two Clefairy remained silent for a couple of minutes as they did their tasks, until the second Clefairy spoke again.

"How are the wife and the kids? Any message from them?"

"Yeah, my wife is doing great on her new job and my kid is about to enter college. I'm so proud of him..."

"Congratulations! Just a couple of days and we should be able to go home. Wait a minute... the sensors are picking some strange energy emissions close to us..."

Suddenly, a large ship seemed to materialize from nowhere, but the worse of it was that the spacecraft was moving at a collision course towards them.

"Shit, something is coming towards us!" The second Clefairy announced.

"Deploy shields and begin evasive maneuvers!" The first one ordered.

But the small UFO didn't manage to react in time, being obliterated in an explosion as the other ship sailed on through. The newcomer, intact and reacting as if nothing had happened, continued its way and begun to enter the atmosphere to make landfall.

Uxie, sprite of knowledge, floated before a computer screen, the keyboard below it glowing as his psychic aura rippled across the keys.

Since Undampening, increased sightings of beings identified as neither human or Pokémon...

Johto Region

A charizard flew through the skies of the valley, proud of his wings and power. All the Pokémon in the surrounding area feared him and fled under his presence. Ever since he evolved from a charmeleon, no other Pokémon had managed to challenge his might and had burned to a crisp for daring to breach his territory. Now he was hungry and was looking for something substantial to fill his belly, a task he figured would not take much time. Would he sate himself on the smaller creatures, or find himself a large opponent that could present some challenge? Who was he kidding? For years he'd gone unchallenged as the strongest creature for miles around, possibly the entire region. Charizard felt that nothing from this world could challenge him.

Charizard then heard a swooshing sound coming from somewhere below. The moment he tried trace the source he found a bright blue ball of light mere inches from core. Before he could do something about it, the hot energy sphere impacted his chest and detonated, ripping through his chest into a bloody and charred mess as he fell from the sky in agony.

Sometime later, a mysterious pair of hands held a cleaned Charizard skull and mounted it into a slot on a wall along a delighted hiss.

Metagross and Alakazam teams remain unsuccessful at bringing one in for study. Hunter spheres deployed to those areas quickly destroyed. For these beings to continuously elude our sensors, I hypothesize they are an advanced sentient space faring species of alien origin. While purpose of visits remains inconclusive, reports suggest culture centers around ritualistic hunting of other dangerous life forms. Cross-referencing with Metagross historian reveals that this is not first time to happen. Very likely these entities may have frequented the planet for millennia from evidence gathered. Visits may also be twofold. A variety of high-tech equipment and weapons more advanced than anything found on this planet, including what seems to be personal cloaking devices capable of projecting a field that bends the light around them to make them invisible at the visible light wavelengths of most life forms on this planet. Planet and inhabitants may be a testing ground sorts. More data is needed…

Sceptile jumped from one tree branch to another in a great rush across the jungle. He didn't understand what was happening. For some reason he had started to feel watched by something. He initially thought it just had been his imagination, but upon hearing cracking of branches, he realized something was stalking and so he had begun to run.

It was still on his tail, that much he knew. And yet, for some reason he couldn't see anyone around, as if his enemy was invisible. Had he entered Kecleon territory without knowing? No. That couldn't be the case, as he knew the Kecleon and whatever was chasing him was definitely larger and heavier than any Color Swap Pokémon.

Tiring of this game of Persian and Rattata, Sceptile jumped off from the tree, looked back and screeched at the one pursuing him in challenge. If it wanted to settle this with him, it should be on the proper way.

The creature chasing him seemed to understand his message, because in front of him, he could notice something invisible fell to the ground with a loud thud. Light seemed to bend and distort around that place, so it must be something like a Kecleon he concluded. Then, the light started to shimmer and the creature started to make itself visible. It looked like nothing he had ever seen, Sceptiles were tall, but this creature towered over him and didn't looked like any human or Pokémon he knew. Its skin seemed reptilian or similar, wore a strange mask on its face, some kind of net around its body and other pieces of equipment which reminded him of human tech. Behind the mask, he could hear clicks and hisses. But no matter what that thing was, it was clearly looking for a fight and Sceptile was going to give it one.

The Sceptile screeched and presented his arm blades, while the mysterious hunter roared from behind his mask and extended two pairs of metallic blades coming from gauntlets on the creature wrists. Sceptile charged first at high speed trying to slice the creature's stomach with Leaf Blade, but it reacted fast and jumped sideways while trying to attack Sceptile with its wrist blades. Sceptile jumped back avoiding the strike and proceeded to attempt to counter with Iron Tail. His tail glowed white and swept across the floor with it, but the hunter jumped high and flew up a tree branch.

The Sceptile tried to follow up quickly, unleashing a salvo of Bullet Seeds and forcing the hunter to dodge by jumping to another branch and deploy some kind of shoulder cannon like a Blastoise. From it, the hunter shot an energy sphere which took Sceptile surprise and barely managed to avoid it by lunging to the ground as a small explosion detonated behind him. Sceptile heard the hunter jump from the tree and turned over his back to shoot Bullet Seed again, but before he did, he noticed that it was now pointing some kind of device on his hand at him and pulled its trigger. In a fraction of second, a wide net deployed form it and pinned Sceptile to the ground with great force as he felt the cables from the net starting to cut through his hide.

This is it, he realized, he was at its mercy and this was the end. The mysterious hunter landed next to him carrying a grip on his hands. After looking at him for a few seconds, he did something to the grip and it extended into a double tipped spear. Rising it above its head, the hunter proceeded to thrust the spear downwards.

Later that day, a Sceptile skull joined the wall on the trophy room.

...based on blood samples left at each altercation, alien beings seem to value hunt of dangerous prey. Significant portions of the corpse are missing, frequently the skull. Possible trophies, perhaps? For a race so technologically advanced, custom seems barbaric, unless integral for social standing between their peers. Or perhaps personal pleasure. Increased lethality of Pokémon after the Undampening may explain their increased sighting over the years. Blood and tissue samples of victims seem to suggest a focus on hunts of the most dangerous species of Pokémon, particularly those I've categorized as pseudo legendaries...

Sinnoh

Garchomp growled and snarled as the mysterious hunters tried to surround her to take her down with their strange weapons, almost ignoring the sandstorm she had conjured. They had tried to sneak around her by using some kind of invisibility ability, but she had been lucky to notice their distorted outlines in the desert sand.

One of them attempted to throw some kind of spear at her but she easily deflected it with a swing of one of her talons and replied in kind by invoking and launching Stone Edge projectiles at it, projectiles that skewered the hunter who died crying a loud yell of pain as green blood sputtered from its wounds. Two other hunters gave a brief look at their fallen companion but quickly returned their focus back at her. Rather than be intimidated, they seemed even more excited to try take her down.

Garchomp jumped high and glided through the air as the hunters started to shoot at with a mix of energy blasts and nets, all of which fell short of their target. Once she landed, she counterattacked by charging and launching an Hyper Beam at them. The hunters managed to jump away from her line of fire, but the explosion from its impact against a dune behind made them stagger and lower their guard. It was opportunity the Garchomp immediately took, charging forward and cleaving through the torso of one of them with Dragon Claw. But when she tried to crush the head of another one with Crunch, the hunter extended his spear within her closing maw.

Not wasting time, the hunter let off his spear, deployed his wrist blades and proceeded to stab her on the belly with one pair. The dragon cried in pain as she let the spear fall off of her mouth, and taking this opportunity, the hunter plunged his other blades into her neck finishing her off.

On the trophy room, a Garchomp skull now joined the others on a central section of the wall.

...Reports clearly depict them as skilled hunters. While such codename would fit. Their great physical prowess and tactics, capable of challenging even second stage undampened pokemon seems inappropriate. Reports from remnants of Kadabra and Metang teams speak volumes of lethality and profound impression left either on their prey that managed escape or others who have seen the aftermath of their hunts. Will concede to suggested codename the kadabra have whispered among themselves: Predator...

Kanto

The pair of Arcanine looked around as they sniffed the surrounding air of the forest. They were looking for two members of their pack who had went out hunting, but it had been hours since they should have returned. But along the sentiment of worry for the two missing members, they were also anxious because since the last couple of weeks there has been rumors of a mysterious creature who had been stalking and killing others undetected.

One of the Arcanine stopped.

"Did you smell that?" He asked.

The second Arcanine stopped too and nodded.

"Yes, I smell blood and... something else..." She said.

"What could it be?" The first one asked.

"I don't know, but we should probably check it out."

The two Arcanine proceeded to sprint across the forest until they found what seemed to be two large smears of blood on the grass. The male Arcanine approached the smears and sniffed at them.

"There is some fur around these blood smears, definitely it's from them, they were attacked here..."

"It probably was the new Pokémon" The female said. "I can smell a third party but I can't identify it from anywhere else, but I'm sure it isn't human."

The female proceeded to examine the rest of the area to see if she could find more evidence of the mysterious attacker, anything which could help the pack identify it and learn how to defend against it. She also noticed scorch marks and evidence that the bodies of the two pack members had been actually dragged to the place of the larger smears.

"They were definitely ambushed, tried to fight back, but because of all this blood they probably ended being killed. But if that was the case, where are the bodies?" She wondered.

"Maybe they were devoured, but I can't find any remains around these two smears which is strange. Also, I don't detect the scent of more than one attacker and I can't imagine something that big capable of devouring two fully grown hunters without the pack noticing its presence first..."

But then, he noticed a drop of blood falling and splashing in front of him into a small puddle close to the smears. In fact, he noticed two puddles of fresher blood close to him. He approached the two puddles and proceeded to look above.

"What are you looking at?" The female asked. "Did you find something?"

The male didn't reply immediately and just kept staring.

"I think I found them..." He finally answered.

The female approached the other Arcanine and looked along him. Hanging from the hind legs and tied with vines at a tree branch, there were two Arcanine bodies dripping blood. But the most disturbing element of this, was the fact that the two bodies were completely skinned.

Back at the trophy room, now two nice Arcanine pelts laid extended at the floor.

...despite "Predators" being known as dogmatic and merciless hunters, other reports suggest possible adherence to code of honor, dictating which are appropriate hunting parameters. This includes reports of acceptance and engagement in individual combat and deep respect towards prey who manage to put forth a great challenge. Especially if it has been able to kill one or more members of their species...

Pachirisu collapsed, exhausted from her wounds. She had given her all on this fight, but it hadn't been enough to make it to through the end. As she lost consciousness and gave away her last breath, she thought about how at least she had been able to make her last stand as difficult as possible for her attackers.

The mysterious hunter approached the body of the small Pokémon completely splattered on the green luminescent blood of his kind and next to it lied the remains of two of his comrades: one had its throat ripped out while the other had one arm dismembered. He himself was greatly hurt and exhausted. When he was sure it was dead, he retracted his weapons, kneeled and with great care and respect lifted the small body between his hands. The small creature had fought with great strength and bravery for its small size, especially if it had been capable of slaying not only one, but two of them. So it deserved nothing but the greatest of honors.

Back at the ship, Pachirisu's body rested not as a skull or a pelt on the trophy room, but instead was preserved for all eternity as a cute mount on a pedestal for all hunters to gaze at. The mysterious hunter approached and proceeded to caress the fur between the ears accompanied by a respectful hiss.

...Reports suggest Predators tendency to hunt alone, but recent ones indicate ships carrying a variable number of individuals. If level of difficulty is high and merits it, they have been seen in larger groups either hunting actively or supervising the situation from a safe distance undetected. I postulate whether the latter situation may represent seniors watching performance of younger and less experienced members of their species on their first hunts. More data is needed….

Unova

Intruders had dared to infiltrate the tower, and so they had to pay for their insolence. That's what crossed Chandelure's mind as it headed to join the fight along his companions. But the strange part of this attempt were the reports that the intruders didn't look like human or Pokémon known to them, and apart from that, they wielded mysterious weapons of great power, physical prowess allowing them to jump very high or turn themselves invisible. The latter didn't matter to the ghosts of the tower, as they were able to just track their auras and had already been able to slay one of the surprised intruders.

Upon reaching the place of the battle, the intruders had entrenched themselves between the tombs as they shot spheres of energy at them from their shoulders. Chandelure summoned a Will-O-Wisp flame and launched it toward them. They saw the incoming attack and jumped outside its path just as it burst into a pillar of ghostly blue fire. In response, one of the intruders took a disk-shaped object strapped to its leg and launched it towards Chandelure. Against this, the Luring Pokémon simply phased out of existence and the disk went through the ghost with no effect. After returning back into the physical realm, Chandelure thought that the intruders should try to do better if they wanted to take them out.

Without them noticing, the disk-shaped weapon started to travel back like some kind of boomerang, and the Chandelure didn't even realized what was happening at the back of its head before everything suddenly turned black.

After doing some repairs, modifications and rewiring, the trophy room now had a new and exotic light fixture illuminating it with spooky lights that the hunters considered improved in a great way the mood of the room.

... Aftermath of hunts hints towards Predator success, however other reports depict situations where Predators were unable overcome target. Generally involving Pokémon not usually considered dangerous and even able to withstand advanced weaponry and equipment...

Johto

Shuckle cowered in fear inside her shell, from absolute nowhere, a mysterious creature had suddenly appeared and had decided to start attacking her. So she had decided to retreat inside her shell and wait for the best until the creature was gone.

Meanwhile, the mysterious hunter kept striking one blow after another with his spear at the shell of the Pokémon, baffled to see a creature on this planet strong enough to be able to resist the powerful alloys of his spear. He was aware he could easily end this by striking through one of the holes on the shell, but where would be the challenge of it? The creature was pathetically weak and a coward by itself, so if he managed to somehow crack it, it would bring him much more honor and prestige than just making a mere trophy of it.

But after more than twenty minutes of striking without pause, he was starting to become weary and impatient until he finally snapped and decided to jump back and just shoot it many times with his plasmacaster. After the dust settled, he grew increasingly annoyed that the shell was still as intact as before. When he was starting to consider to just stick his spear through one of the holes and finish this hunt which had already become too long, he stopped himself as he remembered something about this particular creature while he scratched his chin. Maybe this didn't need to end with just taking the usual trophy after all...

A long time after, Shuckle finally decided to slowly peak outside her shell to see if the mysterious creature was gone as soon as she stopped sensing motion outside. But to her surprise, she realized that she was no longer on her mountain, but by a very strange cave instead! In fact it was very scary as it was filled with the skulls of many Pokémon or their pelts. When she saw a wall open by itself, she quickly retreated back inside as she heard footsteps approaching.

The hunter approached the shell unmasked, himself carrying edible berries native to this planet. When he approached Shuckle's stand, he put the berries inside one of the holes on the shell, picked up Shuckle and started to shake her very fast like she was some kind of mixer shaker. After a while, he aligned one of the holes with his open mouth and drank from the freshly made Berry Juice. Pleased with his drink, the hunter put Shuckle back at her place and proceeded to leave the trophy room as she came out from her shell feeling all dizzy.

...while recent reports document encounters between the Predators and pokemon who generally their preferred prey on this planet there have been some regarding attempts at hunting humans. In fact, available information indicates they don't consider other sentient species as equals. They are either Predator, or potential prey...

Guyana

Two large figures sprinted across the jungle as they escaped from an unknown assailant who could not be seen. It had already wiped the rest of their squad and was now gunning at them.

It's jus a baby Guyanan Guerilla group, dey said. It's jus a simple VIP rescue mission, dey said. Fuck da higher-ups! Lt. Surge thought. And now der's some fuckin invisible piece of shit dat seems ta enjoy hunting people and Pokémon alike. An it's targetin us! He continued saying to himself as he remembered the skinned bodies hanging from trees from before.

"There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man nor Pokémon... we're all going to die..." Billy had eventually said some time before finally succumbing to that beast. And he was known to fear no human or Pokémon.

Next to him was Andy Schwarzhaubitze, his old buddy from the last war before the Undampening who he had met again after a long time for this mission. He was sometimes hard to understand due that thick accent of his, but you couldn't find a better soldier after himself for a risky mission.

"You bleedang!" Andy yelled at him seeing the burn scorch on Surge's shoulder from a near miss from the invisible hunter's energy weapon.

"I ain't got time ta bleed!" Surge replied as he turned back for a brief moment to take some shots at the trees above them before he started running again. While invisible, he could sometimes notice its silhouette across the trees and bright green specks of its blood splatter from lucky hits. If it bleeds, we can kill it, He thought.

Andy tried to turn and fire some pot shots too, but the weapon of the hunter flashed once again, this time getting a direct hit which severed his arm. Andy yelled in pain as he fell to the ground.

"Andy!" Surge screamed as he stopped himself to look back.

"Run! Go! GET DO DA CHOPPA!" He implored to his old friend, not wanting to become a liability.

"Arceus damn it!"

Surge kept running, still able to hear Andy screams until those suddenly stopped. He kept going forward until he found himself in an open clearing in middle of a jungle.

"Damn, still not here!"

Realizing the creature could just finish him off with ease in this situation, Surge did the desperate thing and threw his weapon aside as faced the jungle from where he had come.

"Let's cut dis chasin crap! Ya took Billy's challenge 'fore you killed im! If you're a real man, a true warrior, den bring it!" He said as pointed defiantly where he imagined his pursuer would be.

Light shimmered in front of him and the silhouette materialized at ground level, revealing a tall, masked creature with reptilian skin and sporting some kind of dreadlocks around its head. Getting his message, the creature discarded his high tech equipment as it stood before him. Both warriors stared at the other, patiently waiting for the other to create an opening.

"Can't do dis all day," Surge grumbled, wondering if the alien would take the bait.

"Oi, Alien. Dat rasta crap haircut's been outta style on my planet fer years!"

The alien creature roared at him and charged, Surge remained firm and when it tried to punch him he dodged and proceeded to launch a jab at its masked face.

Great, first da war, den the Undampening, an now fuckin aliens! What's next?! Surge thought while resuming his fighting stance.

"What's wrong, ya big baby? Dat hurt yer shit fashion sense? Thought da day I met an alien, it woulda been at least taller than me!"

The alien took the time he was talking to suddenly grab his arm and with great strength and some effort it threw Surge across the air against a tree. Surge felt the air escaping his lungs as he crashed on it and slammed to the ground.

"I gotta admit... fer yer baby size, yer species is actually pretty strong..." He conceded as he rose up. But being honest, Surge was over eight feet tall and so there was not much on this world (or outside of it seemed now) that could hope to match his height, less if it was capable to throw him around like he was a mere log too.

The masked alien approached him before he could finish recovering, pulled him close from his shirt and punched him twice.

"Ya havin fun yet?" Surge said starting to feel the metallic taste o blood on his mouth. "I'm only gettin started!"

Surge lunged at the alien creature and landed a series of punches to the alien's mask, which managed to stagger it. Surge kept going, smashing the alien's face for a while, but after trying to land another blow, the hunter was able to grab Surge's fist and squeezed it making him yell. Finally, the alien landed a powerful blow to his face which knocked him back to the floor.

"Sorry, baby... Da fight's gettin good an we could be doin dis all day..." Surge said as he got on his knees and turned to look at the alien as he spat a bit of blood. "it's a damn shame but I gotta get home soon an my outta here just came!"

As he said of this, the sound of an helicopter was heard closing in, making the alien hunter to turn at the source in surprise. The helicopter closed the distance fast and quickly stopped itself on midair showing its side. The side door opened and from behind it Raichu jumped at a minigun and pointed it towards the alien.

"You LOSE, big guy!" Raichu proclaimed and opened fire.

Bullets flew through the air and ripped through the creature's body, sending splashes of luminescent green blood everywhere as it yelled in pain and agony until it finally collapsed on his back before Raichu stopped firing.

"What took ya so long?!" Surge asked at him.

"Sorry, we took the scenic route..." Raichu replied a bit ashamed as he scratched the back of his head with one arm.

Surge rolled his eyes and then proceeded to approach to downed creature, as he did, he realized the alien was in fact still alive wheezing and coughing.

"Damn, whadda dey make you guys outta..."

Noticing some cables where loose, Surge crouched next to its face, grabbed the mask and managed to take it off curious of looking at the creature behind. Waiting for him was a nasty face with four weird looking mandibles around its mouth coughing blood.

"Knew da day aliens came that der'd be no guarantee dey'd look pretty... but like Andy would say, you're one ugly motherfucker..."

The alien gave a glare towards him, and then with one hand, he proceeded to push a button on some kind of wrist gauntlet opening it. After that he started to push a series of buttons, and when he finished, the gauntlet seemed to turn on showing some mysterious red symbols while a beeping sound started to come from it.

"What?! Whadja just do?!" Surge demanded.

The alien rested its head across its back not paying him attention, then for some reason it laughed, it started to laugh as the beeping sounds coming from the gauntlet increased in frequency and became more louder with the pass of time. Its laugh also increased, which sounded very human in a very evil, creepy and disturbing manner. Seeing that the symbols where also disappearing from the gauntlet, Surge thought he realized what the alien had done.

"We need ta get outta here, now!" Surge yelled as he started to run to the helicopter as it touched ground.

"Uh? What's wrong?" Raichu asked as he got off from the minigun. "That's thing is dead for good!"

"An we are too if we don' leave here fast! Come on, let's go!" Surge replied as he got on and ordered the pilot to leave.

The pilot of the helicopter obeyed, and the vehicle started to fly out of the area as fast as possible. Behind it, the agonizing alien keep laughing with all the strength it was able to muster until a flash of light illuminated the jungle like a second sun followed by a massive explosion. The helicopter shook under the shockwave, but for luck of everyone on board, they had managed to get far enough in time to be able to resist it. As the flash of light and the shockwave subsided, Surge, Raichu and the pilot proceeded to begin the journey back home.

...look forward to having viable sample of one, ideally alive. Possible strategy to achieve this being to lure one into trap, tempting them with particularly valuable hunting opportunity. Once specimen is secured, could learn much from biology. Sequencing genetic information to enhance own forces with Predator DNA or possibility to clone for own use. Reverse engineering technology on weapons and equipment, could give a technological advantage of decades or even centuries for the purposes of advancing plans...

After a successful safari across the planet even considering the losses, the ship of the hunters proceeded to leave the atmosphere and venture into outer space as they began traveling back to their home planet. As this happened, far from them a flying emerald serpent was trying to give them chase, stopping itself only when the ship disappeared from plain view after it engaged its stealth systems.

"Damn, missed another one..." Rayquaza muttered in annoyance "Fucking alien tourists..."
