Hello to all! This is Episode 66 of the last arc of Volume 5: The True Dragon Knight!
Intro: The Earth... is a great place where humanity and all other creatures live and learn to evolve little by little, but this great world has Darkness in it too. Evil beings who wish to conquer this world and everyone.
Only one being stood against them to show everyone the power of light and hope, but this great mythical dragon wasn't able to stop them. He gave his powers and hope to a human that was known by his name, the Dragon Knight!
Before this hero also met his end, he gave the legendary Dragon Sword and his hopes and dreams to the next knight, his youngest son who is destined to become a legend by the sides of his comrades and his love. This hero... is the Dragon Knight of Light!

Volume 5: Episode 66: A Neko's Hope! I Believe in You! Yugi vs Ichigo!
In the previous episode of DKR:
Yugi managed to arrive where Ichigo was, thankful she was okay but he was still depressed for not being there for her, failing to be her knight. Ichigo, weakly, protested and told him to go on to face Kojan. Knowing she was not wrong, Yugi created a Dragon Clone and he headed off.
Evangeline giggled to herself as she had a plan for Ichigo while Aizen, already plotting, had arrived to his meeting with Akumu and simply warned offer him a chance for them to work together. However, Akumu refused which Aizen expected and instead threatened him to not cross his path. With that, Aizen and his forces left with Akumu glaring seriously.
Kojan, thinking on a memory of his past with Shisui, finally arrived to the destroyed Uchiha Hideout and found the man who ruined his life with Itachi's dead body and Sasuke's unconscious body. Furious, Kojan engaged the masked man as Obito simply taunts Kojan on his past mistakes. Enraged with pure hatred, Kojan prepared to go all out but Obito vanishes, promising to face him or him joining his cause.
Defeated for not saving Itachi, Kojan dropped on the ground having lost everything. Yugi arrived, trying to reach out as he learned what had happen to Keiko who died… but Kojan heard enough and already more than enraged, challenged Yugi to a fight called a Knight's Challenge where the loser surrenders their sword.
Refusing to surrender his Dragon Sword, Yugi had no choice but to fight Kojan who made the first move. The two Dragon Knights clash, Dragon Blade vs Dragon Ryujin. However, even with all of his abilities, techniques and powers; Yugi could not do anything against Kojan's haxes and other abilities and powers and in the end loses in their clash of Dragonaun Tengoku vs Dragonaun Raijin.
Yugi was badly wounded as a somewhat drained Kojan tried to finish it but Haruto/Wizard and Kakashi arrived with the Copy Ninja clashing against the young man he fought years ago but Kojan proved stronger. Kurosaki arrived and joined in the attack as well as Sonic and Shadow. Even they couldn't do anything against Kojan until Wizard stepped in and used his Drago Timer, going all out with his 4 versions of his Dragon forms. With teamwork, the group managed to damage Kojan but he brushed it off and decided to nearly go all out but staggered in pain. It was revealed his fight with Ichigo's Berserk Inner Tiger stabbed his stomach and with his energy containing the wound wasn't enough and it nearly costed him the fight. But Manectric saved him in the last second and they escaped.
Yugi failed to reach Kojan or even challenged him. Will he recover from this?
What will happen next?
And now the conclusion... about a week later since the previous episode:
It's been days later as Jonouchi and the others visit Yugi's house after the whole Kojan incident, more so that he's been quieter at school and has been at home more times than hanging out. Worried like the others, Jonouchi suggested cheering him up only to arrive and Jenny informed him that Yugi wasn't home.
"Yugi isn't home?'' Honda utters surprised. Pikachu rests on top of Jenny's head as she tries to not nod, frowning. She has noticed his distance too, worry that this is affecting him.
''He's been… distant.'' She expresses with Jonouchi sighs, agreeing with her. ''Yea, I can't blame him.''
He eyes her and asks her. ''If you see him-''
''I'll let you know.'' Jenny responds, also not wanting her brother to act like this. Jonouchi nods as the two walk away from Kame Shop to reach the others across the street, telling them the news.
''Bloody. First that mission to reach that Kojan failed and nearly all of you got really banged up.'' Ryan expresses, feeling worst about not even getting hurt by Kojan. Edward is just glad his automail wasn't destroyed.
''Naruto couldn't even bring Sasuke back and then…'' Ruby begins to say, kinda sad about how their other friend fail in his mission only for Jonouchi to finish the rest of her words. ''And that cool old man Jiraiya died.''
Boy did that really hit hard when Kakashi and Sakura of all people came here to tell them the news. Yugi was present and looked down rather defeated, uttering that Naruto was in pain and he was right.
''It might have broken Naruto more than anyone else but he'll surpass it.'' Judai then says with his arms crossed, gazing downward. He's experience a loss like that too way back in the 12 Dimensions but unlike them; his friends were restored but the idea that he got them all killed still haunts him but made him stronger. Sometimes not so much but he understands Naruto's pain right now. He isn't the only one as Ed, Ruby and Kurosaki feel the same, even Usagi as well.
''He'll be fine.'' Haruto then speaks up, eating a donut as he too understands his pain.
''…'' The group is silent in thought, thinking things out. Honda stares at them and can't help but feel inferior among them. He can't do much but be support and the kind of a support friends are good for. To think he was an average thug who can hit hard and now he doesn't compare to people who can blow up walls or towns.
Honda turns to Jonouchi and asks him, knowing he'll get it. ''Jonouchi, you think we're out of our league with all this stuff that's happening.''
Jonouchi turns to face his friend as he further says. ''Like Yugi is superbly strong, there are stronger bad guys that don't need to duel and a lot more drama. And even then, I feel like we don't belong.''
''… I guess.'' Jonouchi begins to say but then says with a small smirk. ''But… I'm okay with that.''
Honda blinks by that. Jonouchi has been thinking about it for a while now and yea, they are out of their league but it never has stopped him to help his best friend out. After all, they are friends till the end.
''It just means this is what real life will be for us after we graduate and most importantly; it's helping Yugi grow and us too.'' Jonouchi begins to announce, getting the others to listen as he smiles brightly. ''Yugi is a kind guy, doesn't want to hurt anyone but to defend so for him to fight in this; I'm proud of him and why I will fight alongside him, powers or not… mainly not but I will be there for my friend!''
Honda looks at him and just sighs, smiling as he tried. Yea, he'll fight too, thankful for meeting Yugi too.
Alicia smiles, respecting how much Jonouchi respects Yugi than anyone else. Edward nods in agreement as he asks the two. ''So which one of you is lucky having met Yugi or the rest of us?''
Jonouchi and Honda look at him and then at each other before they answer him with a grin. ''Both of us actually!''
The darkened blond headed then realizes something and corrects himself. ''Scratch that; we, Anzu and everyone else too, including you guys!''
Ed oddly smirks, actually agreeing with that too. ''Lucky us.''
The rest nods, also lucky to have met Yugi.
''So the plan?'' Usagi asks, wanting to help. Alicia isn't sure as Judai is sure Naruto will get back up on his feet; he has others to give him strength.
''… Momomiya will help Yugi.'' Alarming the group, they stare at Jonouchi who just said those words from his mouth. He has his phone open, texting someone before then saying in what everyone is thinking right now. ''And no, I'm not going to say who I'm texting. Just know Momomiya and I got this.''
The group just stares rather astonished. Guess cat and dogs can work together.
Jenny overhears them, worry for Yugi but at the least she's happy he has friends. She thinks back to what he said about his friends being like his family… but why is she still worried for him due to Kojan. He, Kojan, is in great pain and that pain is also his hate… and it worries her for what he'll do to Yugi.
''Please don't hurt him. Please.'' She pleas mentally, hoping he doesn't hurt her brother.
Adjusting her hoodie, Ichigo frowns as she looks across her home. Boxes are all over and just her room is nearly packed. She curls her lips into a painful frown but snaps out, slapping her cheeks. Right now, Yugi needs her and she can worry about other stuff later.
Putting on her boots, she shouts out to her mother. ''I'll be back later.''
She opens the door and walks out with Skitty walking right beside her, purring. ''Nya!''
Alone with Riolu, Yugi is in the cemetery with four small flowers he's bought.
He approaches a grave as Yin-Yang Dragon's spirit heads manifests beside Atem also watching.
''He's doing this again?'' Yin Dragon questions, rather annoyed but Yang Dragon points out humbly. ''For Yugi-san, it's something he failed and cannot forget.''
Atem watches, frowning as he can only imagine the pain in his partner's mind and heart.
Yugi looks down at the grave of the man that Light killed, the former robbery that Yugi was able to change his ways. He frowns saddened, upset Light did that to someone who had a chance to become someone else and instead he killed him to prove he is Kira and how terrifying his powers.
''… Sorry. I wish…'' Beginning to say as he sets the flower over his tombstone, Yugi hesitates as he wishes he tried harder. ''I wish things were better.''
''Riofu.'' Riolu barks, feeling his pain through his aura. Yugi turns to face the dog-like mon and just tries to smile, expressing calmly. ''It's okay. This shouldn't take me long.''
He then walks down to another grave, his parents Takao and Miyu Mutou.
''…'' Silent as he has so much to ask them but will not any response, Yugi simply says as he sets the remaining flowers over their tomb. ''The third one is for Keiko-chan. I don't even know where Kojan-kun made her grave.''
He frowns, wanting to cry but can't. He just doesn't know what to do and he needs someone to tell him something.
''I don't know what I can do. I… I just…'' Frustrated as he pulls out his sheathed Dragon Sword and kneels down on one leg, Yugi tries to speak to them but nothing. He frowns, telling them strongly as he grips on the sword. ''I do know that I'm not giving this up. I just… Against Kojan-kun, I-''
His strong voice diminishes, not sure what he can say or feel. He couldn't do a thig against Kojan and it cost him greatly. He feels powerless, wondering if he can even-
''Yugi-kun!'' Yugi's thoughts are cut off with a surprise face by a familiar voice. He turns around and spots the red cherry head, staring back at him. ''Ichigo-kun?''
''Sorry, I sniffed you out and-'' Ichigo begins to say, giggling as she's gotten used to his scent but she stops, realizing where they were and what Yugi is doing. She panics and utters nervously. ''Oh, sorry! I should let you finish-''
''It's fine. I'm just done talking to the ground.'' Easing her worries as he stands up from the ground, Yugi responds with a small smile. Ichigo nods, blushing softly as she can tell something is bothering him.
''Everything okay Nya?'' She asks him only for Yugi to just utters, sounding half baked. ''Yea… Did you need me for something?''
''Yes actually Nya!'' Ichigo responds happily with a big smile. ''We're going out!''
Yugi blinks awkwardly while Riolu and Skitty blink, eyeing each other.
Being dragged by Ichigo rather excitedly, the pair and their mons arrive to-
''Kaiba Land?'' Yugi utters in somewhat concern. Ichigo purrs as she tells him happily. "Yea! Could be fun Nya!''
Yugi sweat drops as he knew Ichigo hates this place. Best he doesn't make her mad as he responds calmly. ''I guess so.''
Ichigo purrs, grabbing his arm playfully as she drags him ahead.
The two went as many of the rides in Kaiba Land from the Blue-Eyes Roller Coast, the Blue-Eyes Tea Cup, the Blue-Eyes Bumper Cars, the Blue-Eyes Carousel, the Blue-Eyes Swing Ride (Ichigo threw up after the ride) till Ichigo was fed up with all the Blue-Eyes theme rides there still were. Riolu and Skitty though had a lot of fun.
Patting her back as Ichigo finishes throwing up from the Blue-Eyes Swirly Express, Yugi sweat drops as he asks his drained girlfriend. ''Did you have fun at the least, Ichigo-kun?''
Standing up straight before spitting out any more vomit in her mouth, Ichigo nods as she expresses. "I did Nya. Just fed up with Kaiba-Baka's fetish.''
Yugi sweat drops, agreeing with her. He then asks her. '' So what do you want to do next?''
Ichigo oddly grins softly, walking as if he has to follow her. Yugi does as they walk inside the Kaiba Dome. Wonder why here?
They walk deeper till they arrive in front of the Duel Arenas with no one else around. Ichigo hums amazed by the massive stadium-like machine, having heard stories about it from Duel Kingdom.
''So this is what Kaiba's big duel things look like.'' Ichigo mutters astonished. Yugi nods as he explains to her. ''Duel Arenas, they're what Kaiba-kun made before the Duel Disk and then before the Battle Boxes.''
Ichigo nods softly, observing the large machines before she begins uttering out. ''… I remember what you told me before.''
She turns to face him, remembering his words that inspired her to duel with her own cards. Ichigo looks sad, apologizing him for her own weakness. ''I was really cowardly, not believing in myself and my cards but I'm glad I took your words in heart.''
Yugi soon recalls he did say that when Ichigo entered her first tournament, the very same she earn her Love Dragons cards.
''If I didn't, I wouldn't have gotten my Love cards or become better as a duelist Nya.'' Ichigo admits, grateful for his advice and trust in him. Yugi doesn't say a word, just glad to have helped her.
''Yugi-kun…'' Ichigo begins to say, looking around to confirm it's just them before asking him with a soft smile. ''Would you duel me Nya?''
Yugi is startled in surprise.
Within Las Noches, Tosen watches as Aizen, smirking rather smug, to three unknown Arrancars he has just finished creating. One of them snickers evilly before all 3 vanish under his instructions.
''Aizen-sama, is this necessary?'' Tosen then speaks up, approaching his master with Gin present, leaning on the wall. He then further asks him. ''What of our goals to capture Orihime Inoue?''
Smiling calmly, Aizen informs him. ''Do not worry Tosen-kun. This and my original plan will fall into place.''
Tosen simply nods, having huge trust in his master.
''So you're okay using your pet project now, Captain Aizen?'' Gin then asks with a smug smirk. Aizen smiles calmly as he answers him. ''I simply created them out of my amusement, wishing to see what results they would give me against Soul Society, Kurosaki-kun and his comrades…''
He pauses, briefly thinking of Yugi before proclaiming with a small smirk. ''And most importantly, surpass the Dragon Knight.''
''Oh I wonder how he'll think of them when he sees their faces.'' Gin asks with a sly smirk. Tosen doesn't say a word, also interested to see that his master's plan will succeed.
Aizen doesn't say a word, smirking as this attempt will either end the so-called last hope Takao left behind or give him the greatest rival.
What is Aizen plotting now?
Commercial Break:
Yugi: Duel me? Are you sure you want to?
Ichigo: Of course I do Nya! I have been hoping for this chance and now I will show you my growth Nya!
Yugi looks puzzled, staring at Ichigo who challenged him to a duel.
"Duel me? You sure?'' He asks her, not so certain if he can. Ichigo nods rapidly, explaining herself happily as she shows her deck. "Yea, Nya! I even have my deck set and no one is using these Arenas.''
''…'' The tricolor head remains silent, still not sure. Ichigo blushes, wanting to do this as she pleas. ''Please. I just… I just want to-''
''I'll do it.'' Sighing frustrated as he has no choice, Yugi ultimately accepts. Ichigo blinks, taken back, before asking him, sincerely. ''Really Nya?''
''Yea.'' Yugi says, almost not sounding happy about it. Ichigo doesn't notice it before she lets out a purr and declares, hugging him warmly. ''Thank you so much Nya!''
Yugi blushes softly though hesitant. Riolu and Skitty watch as the two gets on the opposing Duel Arena, shuffling their decks before placing them on the Deck Zone.
''Ready?'' Ichigo asks eagerly with Yugi nodding softly.
Ichigo can't help but giggles, finally going to duel Yugi after so long. She had huge hopes to duel him during the KC Cup but Kojan ruined her chances and if not for him, the Dark Lord would have. She can't help but giggle at the idea to duel Yugi. Finally, she can show him her growth and how much she's become stronger.
Yugi, though, isn't feeling the same since he's not thinking of Kojan and his faults. Still, he'll duel and try to distract himself, thinking that's why Ichigo wants to duel him.
Drawing their five cards, the two declares at each other as the Duel Arena activates. ''Duel!''

Ichigo smiles at her hand as she tells her tricolor head. ''You get the first turn, Yugi-kun!''
Duel Screen: Turn 1_ Yugi: 4000LP H: 5 / Ichigo: 4000LP H: 5
''…'' Yugi doesn't answer Ichigo, deep in thoughts as he recalls his encounter with Kojan.
''You really are a fool.'' Kojan's words of back then echoes in his thoughts, putting him down badly. Ichigo notices this and asks him of concern. ''Yugi-kun?''
Yugi snaps out and proclaims, acting unease.''M-my turn…''
He top draws Pot of Greed but Yugi doesn't look at it as he reaches for a card, thinking it's Joker's Straight. Atem watches and staggers back, trying to warn him quickly. ''Wait partner, why are you going to play-''
Not paying attention, Yugi proceeds activating a Spell card. ''I activate the spell, Joker's Straight. I discard a card to-''
''Yugi-kun.'' Yugi stops as Ichigo makes a worrying face, pointing her draw hand to his materialized card.
''Hmm?'' He hums puzzled as Ichigo, blushing, reveals to him. ''Um… that's not that card.''
More confuse; Yugi looks down at the card he played and immediately widens his eyes in shock. The card he played was not Joker's Straight but Card Destruction. He's visibly shocked, uttering in confusion. ''W-when did I-''
''You weren't focus.'' Atem informs him telepathically, also concerned that Yugi misplayed so obviously. The young tricolor head frowns at his mistake, never making such a thing.
''W-we can take it back and-'' Ichigo, noticing the disappointed across Yugi's face, suggests to him but the tricolor head protests with a shake of his head. ''No, it's fine. I won't take it back.''
Even though he's not like Atem and Kaiba about their sense of pride, Yugi also has some pride to not take the easy way. Ichigo stares at him and sighs nodding.
The two discard their cards and draw the same number of cards from the top of their deck.
Yugi looks at his option, only to have flashbacks of how Kojan blitz him around. He shakes his head, reaching for a random card and shouts, not paying attention to what he's doing. ''I summon Beta the Electromagnet Warrior!''
However no monster appears and instead it is a Set Monster. Yugi is visibly shock that just happened. He looks at his field and his monster is indeed set.
''Um Yugi-kun? Is everything-'' Ichigo, really worrying about Yugi's actions, tries asking him but instead of telling her anything, Yugi utters out slightly nervously. ''T-turn end!''
''Eh?!'' Ichigo expresses in shock. Yugi nods, trying to not gulp, as he tells her. ''I-It's fine. Go on.''
The red cherry head frowns concern but nods.
Skitty watches so astonished by this human game while Riolu frowns, able to tell better than anyone that Yugi's aura is not okay.
Duel Screen: Turn 2_ Yugi: 4000LP H: 4 / Ichigo: 4000LP H: 5
Ichigo pauses for a moment, having been waiting for this moment for a long time to duel Yugi with her best but… something in her told her that Yugi isn't in the right head.
Focusing her attention to her current hand, Ichigo declares drawing her top card. ''My turn, draw Nya!''
She draws and then proceeds to summon a monster from her hand. ''I summon Love Magician Nya!''
A redheaded female girl resembling Ichigo appears on her field. She's wearing a darkish pink witch-like outfit with heart-shaped symbols across the outfit and wielding a cute wand with a heart-shaped tip.
Love Magician Lvl 3 ATK: 1200 DEF: 500
''Love Magician's effect lets me Special Summon a Love Dragon from LV 1 through 6 from my hand!'' Ichigo explains her monster's effect as she twirls her wand and manifests a heart-shaped portal. ''Come out, Love Dragon LV5!''
Appearing through the portal is a teenaged aged, pink scaled female dragon, roaring as its emerald colored eyes glow.
Love Dragon LV5 Lvl 5 ATK: 2000 DEF: 1700
''Love Dragon LV5's effect destroys a monster you control and then I gain Life Points equal to its highest ATK or DEF!'' Ichigo declares with a small smirk, pointing at Yugi's set monster and then further announces. ''Plus Love Magician's effect increases my summoned Love Dragon's ATK by 700 Nya!''
Love Magician twirls her wand as Love Dragon LV6 roars, engulfed in pink energy as it goes up to 2700 ATK. She then flaps its wings, wrapped in energy before flapping them forward as Ichigo shouts. ''Love Wing!''
The dragon flaps and unleashes pink energy slashes from its wings, hitting through Yugi's set monster and destroys it. Ichigo's Life Points goes up to 5500LP since Beta's ATK is 1500.
Yugi frowns, wishing Beta was face-up so he could have dodged the Love Dragon's effect. Now he has to content with-
''Your attacks are worthless compare to mines.'' Yugi widens his eyes, hearing Kojan's voices echo in his mind. He staggers in grim shock, distracting him as Ichigo declares. ''Battle! Love Dragon LV5, attack Yugi-kun directly!''
Yugi is too distracted by his thought that Atem is warning him to-
Love Dragon dives in and slashes Yugi with her wing.
''GAAH!'' He gasps, bracing himself as his Life Points drop to 1300. Ichigo is on a roll, declaring with a smile. ''Love Magician, attack directly!''
Love Magician smiles as she aims her staff at Yugi. Taken back by the last attack and not focused, Yugi shouts as he grabs a card from his Graveyard. ''I banish Electromagnetic Turtle, ending your Battle Phase!''
The green electrical turtle manifests and stops Love Magician from attacking before vanishing. Ichigo is completely shocked by that. Why would he use that card so late and only to stop 1 attack.
Frowning even more worried, Ichigo grabs a card in her hand and declares. ''I set 1 card face-down! Turn end Nya!.''
Love Dragon LV5's ATK goes back to 2000.
Duel Screen: Turn 3_ Yugi: 1300LP H: 4 / Ichigo: 5500LP H: 3
Breathing heavily as he eyes his unfocused sight on his deck, Yugi tries to proclaim. ''My-''
But as his draw hand reaches to his deck, he hears Kojan's voice of back then, still taunting him. ''And I have a desire that surpasses your pathetic bonds.''
''D-draw!'' Gritting his teeth, Yugi draws his top card frustrated.
Atem watches as he looks at Yugi's hand and can see a play for him to endure Ichigo's onslaught on her next turn.
''Partner can summon Chocolate Magician Girl to secure a defense so then-'' But as the Pharaoh theorizes mentally what Yugi needs to do, Yugi aggressively shouts playing the card he drew. ''I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Secrets of Dark Magic! I fuse Dark Magician Girl with Buster Blader from my hand!''
Atem staggers heavily by his play as both Dark Magician Girl and Buster Blader appear on his field.
''Apprentice of the Magician of Ancient Times, combine and improve yourself with the blade that slays dragons and protect your comrades! Let your new power give you the strength to stand beside the one you call your partner!'' Yugi chants as the two energies of his monsters mixed together, releasing an energy spiral of purple and pink. ''Fusion Summon! The Apprentice of the Magical Swordsman, Dark Paladin Girl!''
Emerging from the purple/pink swirl of light is a new monster, slashing down at the light as it vanishes. The female resembles Dark Magician Girl except her long blonde hair turns light grey, her once green eyes becomes pale yellow and the cheeks on the side of her eyes also becomes dark sharp markings resembling Dark Paladins. Her outfit resembles the fusion of Dark Magician Girl and Dark Paladin's outfits with a pale grey blue design, golden outlines and red orbs attached on her magician-like shouderless and revealing leg dress, fingerless gloves, pointy wizard-like hat and short boots. She wears a similar necklace as Dark Magician Girl with the matching colors of her outfit and a red ring in each index finger. Swirling in her right hand was the same matching blade Dark Paladin uses except the hilt matches the pale grey blue colors.
Dark Paladin Girl Lvl 7 ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000
The two Pokemon sweat drops at this monster's appearance and more that it's Yugi's card. Riolu sweat drops, no comment.
''Dark Paladin Girl gains 300 ATK for each Dragon monster on the field or our GY and 300 ATK for each Magician monster in either GY.'' Yugi announces as the calm yet strong female paladin's ATK shoots up to 3300.
Atem would say it's not a bad play but it's just as bad by Ichigo's set card.
''Wait, she still has a set-'' He tries to warn Yugi of his reckless play but once more, Kojan's words cloud his judgment. ''A worthless and naïve kind non-Dragon Knight like you can't hope to match me. You don't belong being a Dragon Knight!''
Getting more annoyed at his helplessness, Yugi commands loudly.''Battle! Dark Paladin Girl, attack Love Dragon LV5!''
Dark Paladin Girl flies upward as she holds up her magical blade, swirls of black and pink energy flies around it. Ichigo watches puzzled, wondering why Yugi would attack now.
''Super Magical Erupting Slash!'' Yugi commands as his monster swings her weapon and fires a black-pink swirl energy wave blast at Ichigo's dragon. However, Ichigo is ready for it shouting. ''Reverse trap open, Draining Shield! I negate your ATK and next I gain Life Points equal to Dark Paladin Girl's ATK!''
A magical shield manifests and blocks Dark Paladin Girl's attack. This staggers Yugi whole her Life Points shoot up to 8800LP.
Yugi stares in shock, slowly eyeing his last two cards. He frowns, not able to do much.
''… I-I end my turn.'' Sounding deeply defeated, Yugi finishes his turn.
Duel Screen: Turn 4_ Yugi: 1300LP H: 2 / Ichigo: 8800LP H: 3
''My turn Nya.'' Ichigo says, sounding less excited with how the duel is turning out. She eyes her drawn card and announces as her dragon glows. ''I evolve Love Dragon LV5 into Love Dragon LV6 Nya!''
The teenage dragon evolves, becoming more matured and stronger too.
Love Dragon LV6 Lvl 6 ATK: 2000 DEF: 1900
Dark Paladin Girl gains another 300 ATK, now at 3600.
Ichigo isn't worried as she quickly grabs a card and plays it. ''I activate the spell, Power of Love! Now my Love Dragon gains 2000 ATK!''
It shows the image of Love Dragon LV3 awakening her inner power to protect a Kuriboh from a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Love Dragon LV5 roars, growing in power but Yugi counters, discarding a card from his hand. ''I discard Chocolate Magician Girl to activate Dark Paladin Girl's effect, negating your Spell's effect!''
Dark Paladin Girl twirls her sword before aiming her arm forward and fires a sphere of pink magical energy at Ichigo's spell and negates it. Once more, Dark Paladin Girl goes up again now at 3900 ATK.
Hearing the card he discarded, Ichigo can't help but frown at his reckless play.
''… Yugi-kun, you really aren't yourself Nya.'' She expresses, reaching a card in her hand and proceeds to play it. ''I activate the spell, Double Love! With it, I evolve Love Dragon LV6 by 2!''
The spell materializes with the image of a Love Dragon LV6 evolving past LV7 to LV8 and this same image is happening with her dragon.
Yugi worries really, really needed to negate it but if Ichigo has one more play, then it's the end for him. He doesn't have much of a choice, allowing it though.
''Please bring forth the light of hope! Let your love shine brighter than power alone!'' Ichigo begins chanting holding her hands together over her chest before raising the right hand up over her dragon evolving. ''Flap your lovely wings, Love Dragon LV8!''
Ichigo's ace and now fully adult dragon of love emerges, spreading her lovely wings. The fully grown adult dragon roars of pure tranquil with her wings resembling more like the two sides of a heart and has a heart-shaped red gem over her chest. It roars, shining brightly its clear emerald colored eyes with its cruelly-like horns.
Love Dragon LV8 Lvl 8 ATK: 3000 DEF: 2300
The two Pokemon watch, breathless by the size of the monster.
Yugi watches as Ichigo's evolved Love Dragon roars as she announces. ''Love Dragon LV8 gains ATK equal to the difference in our Life Points! Love Growth Nya.''
Love Dragon roars louder, engulfed in bright energy as she gains 7500 ATK, shooting her total ATK at 10500. Yugi sweats greatly as Dark Paladin Girl doesn't have a chance to fight it
Ichigo eyes one of her cards, debating to end the duel with Love Dragon LV8's effect but she doesn't and commands loudly yet firm than happy. ''Battle. Love Dragon LV8, attack Dark Paladin Girl!''
Love Dragon opens its fangs, swirls of pink energy forming between its fangs.
''Love Burst Surprise!'' Ichigo shouts loudly as her dragon unleashes its signature blast, coming right towards Yugi's monster. He watches helpless, his eyes shake as there is nothing he can do. He's-
''Partner!'' Atem immediately shouts in Yugi's mind, causing him to snap out and remembers his last card. He grabs it and discard the last card of his hand, announcing. ''I discard Kuriboh to negate all battle damage!''
Kuriboh soon appears in front of Love Dragon's attack, crying out. ''Kuri!
Love Dragon LV8 continues it attack, blasting Kuriboh who grows massive but the blast still consumes Dark Paladin Girl. She screams as the blast consumes her, destroying her clothes and briefly shows her bare nude body before she's destroyed.
Yugi braces himself, taking no damage but has no more defenses.
''Love Magician, attack directly!'' Ichigo commands as Love Magician aims her wand and fires an energy burst of magic right at Yugi. ''Love Magic!''
Her attack hits Yugi as his Life Points drop to a mere 100.
Ichigo frowns, grabbing a card and declares setting it. ''I set 1 card face-down… Turn end Nya.''
A face-down card manifests and finishes her turn.
Duel Screen: Turn 5_ Yugi: 100LP H: 0 / Ichigo: 8800LP H: 2
''…'' Yugi is silent at this series of events. He has no monsters, no cards, nothing to defend or fight back. But the part that actually worries him is that Ichigo would have won last turn. He knows her, he knows she had at least 1 Love Card in her hand or could have used Love Magician to use Dragon LV8's effect to gain Life Points and then inflict 500 to him. In fact, if she had a card to gain Life Points, she could use it now but she hasn't.
''Ichigo-kun…'' Yugi begins to speak up as he asks her. ''You could have ended the duel last turn. You know that, right?''
Ichigo smiles softly as she replies. ''And you could have beaten me long ago too Nya but…''
Yugi frowns, admitting she's not wrong about that.
''Sorry. I'm…'' He tries to explain himself but for once he has no clue why he acted like this. He sighs, simply apologizing. ''I don't know. I'm just not…''
Even then, he can't even apologize as his head is filled with doubt and concern in himself. Riolu knew that already for a while now, just not sure what to tell him.
''I'm not sure what to do.'' Yugi expresses as he says worry. ''If I'm supposed to be the Dragon Knight, why can't I reach Kojan-kun?''
Then reminded of that Evangeline, Pain and Kojan; Yugi feels helpless that if he can't even fight anyone stronger.
''Why can't I seem to be able to fight the villains that keep showing up?'' He begins to question, wondering if his powers can even do anything against new foes and worst if he can't, then his friends and others will get hurt. ''Why can't I save or help anyone?''
Ichigo frowns, knowing the feeling and tells him. ''I felt the same but you know that Nya.''
Yugi nods, knowing it well. Ichigo blushes, still surprised Yugi has this much concern in him but there is something else in him. And then it hits her, realizing what it is.
''Yugi-kun, are you afraid and not of your powers. Are you afraid…'' Ichigo begins to question him, realizing what the problem is. ''To be more than you? You don't want power, do you?''
Yugi just stares at her, at first going to protest… but she's onto something. He has had moments of not wanting power, just reminded by those with power become corrupted or lose themselves.
''You learn many things from everyone and care deeply for teamwork but…'' Ichigo begins praising the person before her but openly admits his fear. ''You don't want to become stronger for yourself. You're afraid of power.''
Silence echoes the two but Yugi frowns in agreement.
''… I am afraid… of being more like those who desire more power.'' Yugi openly admits to her.
Ichigo, frowning, can imagine he's referring to the Dark Lord, to Aizen, to Orochimaru, to Deep Blue, to Maximilian… to Kojan; they all want more power, not caring how they got it.
Thinking of them and of others like Aigami and Light; Yugi doesn't want to seek out greater power, happy with what he has and yet it still scares him.
But Ichigo can't help but smile as she then admits to him. ''… But I wouldn't be as strong as I am if not for you, Yugi-kun.''
Yugi blinks, looking at her. Ichigo smiles, happily, as she encourages him. ''That's why you can't be afraid to want more power!''
The tricolor head isn't sure, still having his doubt if he gains more power than he'll become like.
''And yes Nya!'' Not finish yet, Ichigo continues saying. ''I know I can say use that power for everyone and me but…''
Smiling, Ichigo suggests to him. ''Do it for you too!''
''For me too?'' Yugi utters with a visible surprised face. Ichigo nods, realizing that in her fight against Mew Blackberry and the fights after her. Even with all of the friends she had, Ichigo can never hope to beat those stronger foes if she keeps relying on just their strength; she needs to rely in herself too.
''We can't always become your strength; you need to depend on your own strength, your own wants and desires in who you want to be!'' Ichigo proclaims to him, giggling as she thinks up the next part. ''Because if a Dragon Knight is a knight who protects others; he is a dragon who desires things too Nya! But most importantly, you are kind. And together, you will become a real hero Nya who uses bonds and in your power too!''
Ichigo smiles softly, finishing her words. ''You are the Dragon Knight because you are kind. No matter how much power you need, you'll never change because your kindness will always be your strength Nya!''
Yugi slowly widens his eyes, astonished almost breathless at her words. His face lights up with reddish cheeks, sometimes thinking Ichigo is a beautiful angel or a goddess who descended before him to always be like his bumpers to protect him. Just her smile is like a radiant that no matter how bad he feels; she'll always cheer him up.
''Ichigo-kun…'' He utters out softly, not sure what he can say to express how much he feels for her. He slowly smiles and tells her. ''I'm grateful I have you.''
''And I'm happy being yours.'' Ichigo responds back, feeling loss at times too but seeing him define the odds and believing in everyone makes her want to try harder. That's why she wants him to believe in himself too and surpass the doubts in his heart to be the Heroic Dragon Knight she knows he is.
It isn't just that; Yugi brings out the best out of anyone and he's done so to her too. If not for him, she would be loss too.
Placing her hand across her chest as her soft brown eyes locks to his purple eyes, Ichigo begins expressing kindly while forming her smile. ''My heart, my thoughts, my feelings are yours too just like yours. We'll be together, close or away between time and space; that is our power, our feelings, our love Nya.''
Skitty purrs, smiling how kind Ichigo is. Yugi blushes red by that comment, like he owes her but… he blushes as he knows she doesn't mean it like that but… he's happy she thinks so. No, he's happy she's here with him. No, happier than that.
''She's right…'' Yugi begins to tell himself, thinking back to what happened to Kojan and Keiko's death. He doesn't know the facts to that but he knows Kojan is in pain… and he can relate with him. If he lost Ichigo… then he wouldn't be himself. But… he knows one thing: Ichigo would never want him to go down that path and neither would Keiko.
Filled with a new determination, Yugi knows how to reach Kojan in a way. Seeing him serious, Ichigo can't help but smile as she asks him. ''Yugi-kun, duel me with your hardest like you always do! Please.''
Yugi eyes her and smiles softly, vowing to her. ''… I will.''
Riolu now smiles, feeling his partner's aura burning like passionate fire.
He looks at his Deck. No cards to do any plays but he knows there is always a way to turn the tide. All he needs to do is believe.
''Sorry Atem, I won't let you down again.'' Yugi apologizes telepathically towards Atem who nods with a small smirk, hoping this lesson helped his partner.
''Also…'' Ichigo begins to say, asking him deeply from the heart. ''Become the Dragon Knight who will always protect everyone! The kind, the strongest, the Unbeatable, but most of all; the kindness, Heroic Dragon Knight Nya!''
Smirking strongly of her wish, Yugi begins to declare as he prepares to draw. ''I will. This is now how the duel starts, Ichigo-kun! It's my-''
But before he can draw, the area around them begins to shake violently so much that the Duel Arenas shut down, leaving the duel inconclusive.
Duel Screen: Unresolved... Yugi Mutou: 100LP vs. Ichigo Momomiya: 8800LP
''H-hey! What gives!'' Ichigo complains, very annoyed as she's finally dueling Yugi seriously. Yugi looks up and can't help but feels so tense up like the gravity has been increase by 10 times. Even Riolu feels it, his legs trembling while Skitty is pushed onto the ground by the pressure.
''Ichigo-kun put your cards back.'' The tricolor head asks her, putting his owe deck away. Ichigo blinks confuse, uttering out. ''Nya?''
She puts her deck away just as the ground shakes violently. Yugi worries, getting off the arena as this shaking is not nature; it belongs to 3 causing this from outside. He runs off as Ichigo panics and runs after him.
"What the hell are these auras I'm feeling!'' Yugi questions, worrying as these auras are absolutely terrifying yet familiar. This actually causes him to gulp, holding on the hilt of his Dragon Sword.
Using the computers in Las Noches, Aizen smirks as his 3 new Arrancars have arrived to Domino.
''They have arrived much quicker.'' Gin states, praising how fast those three arrive and even finds the Dragon Knight. Tosen nods silently, now to confirm how strong they are. Aizen, though, is aware they are very strong but the question is how the Dragon Knight will bare against them.
''Now, Yugi Mutou-kun…'' Aizen begins to say with a small smirk. ''I wonder how well you fare against the perfect Arrancars.''
Yugi regained his belief in himself but now 3 unknown Arrancars have arrived. Will the Dragon Knight and the Mew Mew be ready for these dangerous foes?

I've always wanted to do a Yugi vs Ichigo duel but well never had a chance till now… but it's not a duel since Yugi is not dueling at full strength, making mistakes and Ichigo wanted to cheer him up.
I will return to complete the Yugi vs Ichigo Duel, one day, but right now the point of the duel was to help Yugi. But now we have this new threat to deal with so let's find out what problems occur.
Next time I'm ramming the big part of this arc at full throttle. And it will not end well.
SO... I have to talk about this and it's important.
Happy 2023... still shit. Sorry, just not happy how this year is starting for me.
Nothing bad, DKR will continue but this year I will not do the other Age of Zarc's One Shot involving Yuya vs Yuma. Why? Well for one, the same reason; I feel Yuma's cards are much stronger and we still haven't got THE Odd-Eyes Boss Monster. I mean I shouldn't care but I'm still iffy.
Another reason is that I'm behind on DKR AND I'm trying to set up Tales of the Decade Season 2. I can't ignore it.
One more thing is that I've been behind due to commissions and real life stuff AND also my laptop had a problem and left me 4 weeks behind on work.
And YouShowYGO did Yuma vs Yuya and I feel like there's nothing much I could add but I could try... BUT not this year. I will "try" next year hopefully.
So yea, DKR will continue but I will mention a thing once Volume 5 is done. So for now... Time will tell.
Also couldn't upload the 24th of November or the 1st of December because I got super sick like at the beginning of December, couldn't upload or work on the chapters AT ALL. My bad everyone. Hopefully now I'll upload till DKR is done... unless stuff happens. See you all next week though!
