Volume 5: Episode 71: You Are No Dragon Knight. The Unparalleled Wall!

In the previous episode of DKR:

Yugi now found himself in a digital-like cyberspace and met by a young boy and his yellow dinosaur who he remembered from before. The young boy referred to his partner as Agumon, a Digimon. Not sure why Yugi is here, he helped the young boy, Taichi, and his partner to escape this place they found themselves in after somehow being reunited seemingly.

They got to know each other a little until they were attacked by a strange creature, unknown to them being called Argomon. The group fought the unknown Digimon as team. However, said Digimon kept finding a way to evolve itself, multiply and evolve further that even the Dragon Slayer can't do much.

Now getting hurt, Taichi stepped in to protect Agumon, not caring if he got hurt or killed. Seeing this, Yugi inspired him about the story of his goggles which caused Taichi to remember him. Placing his belief on Agumon, his nonfunctional Digivice and Tag Crest merged to become a new Digivolve, now granting Agumon to finally evolve into Greymon.

With Greymon's power and Taichi's feelings, the two defeated the Champion Level Argomon. But the victory was short lived when it transformed into its Ultimate Level. Having seen enough, Yugi entered Dragon Blade Mode and seemingly deleted Argomon, for now.

Able to trust Taichi and form a bond with him and Agumon and vice versa, Yugi found himself about to leave this world as a portal opened up for Taichi and Agumon to leave this world. The two groups bid farewell, hoping to see each other again.

What will happen next?

And now the conclusion... last left off in the previous episode:

Yugi moves through the portal before arriving at his destination.

"Where am…'' The tricolor head begins to ask, looking around before his eyes widen. He stares upon a familiar broken down castle.

''This is!'' Yugi mutters out in surprise as another voice takes the words out of his mouth. ''The castle of back then.''

Yugi blinks as he turns around and sees Atem beside him, in physical form.

''The other me?'' He utters, rather glad to see him like this.

''You have to be careful, partner.'' Atem advises him, having a bad feeling about this place. Yugi does too, responding calmly. ''Right.''

The two approach towards the castle, walking inside. Just like back then, the indoors of the castle is abandoned and lonely while looking like a mess. However, Yugi and Atem sense someone else here and they would find out, spotting a figure sitting on a broken throne chair.

''You…'' Yugi utters, recognizing the person in the shadows. Atem staggers heavily as the figure sitting on the throne stands off.

''Hey there…'' The figure in the shadow speaks up with a very familiar voice. The two watch as the figure approaches them closer. He walks out from the shadows and reveals to be Darkness Yugi, the dark half of Yugi.

''Long time huh?'' He proclaims with a firm stern face. Yugi stares calmly with Atem proclaiming, shocked to see him again. ''Why is he here?''

Yugi isn't worried or concerned about why he's here as says. ''It's okay, he's likely my opponent. I got this.''

He walks forward with Atem watches worried. Soon he turns and sees the spirit heads of Yin-Yang Dragon, staring at Yugi.

''The boy is actually serious to face him again.'' Yin Dragon declares telepathically, gazing closely. Atem agrees as he responds back telepathically. ''I'm just surprised Yugi's darker half has returned after Yugi beat him.''

''Somethings are not what they seem.'' Yang Dragon proclaims with a sadden voice. This startles the Pharaoh, questioning him. ''What do you mean?''

The two headed dragons do not say a word.

Yugi walks up in front of his darker half who asks him firmly. ''Not surprised to see me?''

Oddly smirking a bit, Yugi responds carefree. ''No, just want to get past you and get what I came for.''

Scowling rather annoyed, Darkness Yugi protests. ''You'll never get the true power of a Dragon Knight because you're no Dragon Knight.''

He points his finger towards Yugi, telling him off. ''You rather choose to follow the wishes of the dead and seek out your own destruction.''

''…'' Yugi gazes silently. Darkness Yugi then says coldly, still pointing his finger at him. ''Face it, you're as helpless as the little boy you really are.''

''… Words coming out from someone who talks down on others I can't stand.'' Sounding irritated by his words, Yugi mutters out as he grabs on the hilt of the Dragon Sword. ''And I don't have time for this either…''

Darkness Yugi stares and reaches to his sheathed darker Dragon Sword, gripping on the handle.

The two stare down at each other, muttering out a chant before they finally shout out loudly. ''BURST LIMIT!''

They unsheathe their swords, erupting in blue and black flames and colliding with each other fiercely. Atem braces himself as the flames dissolve to reveal Yugi in his Burst Limit but so was Darkness Yugi. His outfit is a grayer version of Yugi's as he wields a grayer version of the Dragon Blade.

''Both of them.'' Atem utters in anxiety. Darkness Yugi doesn't show a sign of joy as he declares confidently. ''You forget but I have every one of your attacks and skills. And I know how you think too.''

''…'' Yugi remains silent, not saying a thing. He simply raises his Dragon Blade with both hands. Darkness Yugi glares before charging at him, flying at top speed as he swings a slash. Yugi simply moves and swings defensive. Darkness Yugi raises his blade upward as the two are about to lock until they suddenly vanish.

Atem widens his eyes, looking around where they went until a strong wave hits him. He braces himself as another wave hits and then another and another. He looks up as sparks fly around across the air as the two Yugis clash and dashes around. The Pharaoh can't keep up with their movements as they swirl around in the sky.

Yin-Yang Dragon are the only ones to keep up, clearly able to see that Darkness Yugi is attacking swift and fast while Yugi can only defend himself but it isn't that either; he's blocking precise hits that Darkness Yugi is landing through each swing Yugi is trying to make. Atem looks at them and suspects something is wrong, questioning them. ''It's bad, isn't it? Since they both know the other thinks, Yugi's darker half can abuse that and get the right attacks in, right?''

The two-headed dragon simply nods, confirming Atem's suspicions.

Darkness Yugi continues swinging, not stopping in the slightest as Yugi can only defend. Just as he blocks the next incoming swing, Darkness Yugi fake swings it by spinning around him and goes for his back.

''I told you, we have the same attack pattern! I can counter every one of your-'' Darkness Yugi declares loudly as he swings right at his back and hits through him. Atem widens his eyes but then raises an eyebrow.

"Partner?'' He mutters as the blade from Darkness Yugi cut through is not Yugi but an afterimage. Darkness Yugi turns around and suddenly he's slashed across the chest by Yugi, glaring irritated. He gasps as Yugi proceeds to stab his blade into him and then swings a punch across his face, bashing him hard but not letting him be pushed backwards due to the Dragon Blade in his chest. Keeping him in place, Yugi just punches him again and again, stunning his dark half as he's in agony.

''He's attacking…'' Atem begins to say as he watches Darkness Yugi trying to stomp kick him but Yugi vanishes with his Dragon Blade. Freed, Darkness Yugi dives down only to get kicked across the face by Yugi, once more in front of him. Darkness Yugi grunts as he tries to do something only for Yugi to roar, thrusting his blade once more at him. ''RRRAAWWWRRR!''

It stabs through him as he slams his darker half through a wall and onto the ground and proceeds to slash and drag him across the ground, tearing both him and it apart. Atem can only watch, speechless while Yugi roars, launching him into a wall and then arm bashes across his neck, pinning him as he knee kicks his guts over and over before releasing his grip and swings a Dragonaun Knuckle across his face, exploding the wall from behind and blast him through.

Atem watches as Yugi is actually fighting dirty and more aggressive. Darkness Yugi spins his body to grind his feet on the ground only for Yugi to appear from behind and thrusts his blade again as it fires a Dragonaun Burning. The blade connects and releases an explosion, blasting Darkness Yugi forward as he's consumed in the purple flames.

''Yugi-san is fighting like a dragon, using his instincts as a dragon.'' Atem blinks as he turns to Yang Dragon confirming his concerns. But Yugi has never done this before so why now.

Yin Dragon nods as he also says, gazing at Yugi's dislike expression. ''We can tell he hates this method as he prefers to form a strategy and win but he has no time to waste any more time.''

Atem eyes the two and begins to admit they are right; Yugi would do this if it meant he can save Ichigo sooner. This is no time wasting time… yet it's frightening. It's like he's someone else.

Yugi watches Darkness Yugi gasping in pain, struggling to stand up. He frowns as he tells him. ''I told you I don't have time to fight you.''

Twirling the Dragon Blade, Yugi dashes forward like a rocket. Darkness Yugi gets up furious as he tries charging only for Yugi to slam his fist across his face, bashing him onto a wall as he still comes at him.

''DRAGONAUN BLADE SLASH!'' Yugi shouts, gripping the hilt of the Dragon Blade as the blade erupts in flames. He swings it at Darkness Yugi who swings for his own Dragonaun Blade Slash. The two blades clash and they collide upon each other fiercely like two tsunamis of energy.

The two blades try to overpower the other but Yugi was hoping for this as he throws a punch, shouting. ''DRAGONAUN GEYSER!''

Darkness Yugi startles as he steps back quickly but Yugi smirks as he instead slams his fist onto the ground, unleashing a geyser of flames erupting upward. The flames spread and nearly consume Darkness Yugi but he leaps upward, dodging them. This was a mistake as emerging out of the wild flames is Yugi, glaring as he grips on an enhanced Dragon Rasengan he created with a Dragon Clone.

''ULTRA DRAGON RASENGAN!'' Yugi roars, dashing with Yin-Yang Dash to get right up to his darker half and slams the star-shaped energy spiral attack across his chest. Darkness Yugi can only gag as the attack consumes him and explodes on impact.

Atem watches closely with his arms crossed, watching as Darkness Yugi is shot and slammed onto the ground followed by Yugi blasting him with Dragonaun Burning. He frowns, questioning mentally. ''So that is Yugi's plan; attack as aggressive as possible…''

He can see the upset expression across Yugi's face, showing how much he doesn't like this. The Pharaoh can agree; he's fighting similar to how the Pharaoh would handle it in a duel and it's not Yugi's style. He prefers to be defensive and set up, using his smarts and tricks to win. Sometimes he'll mix strong attack power but never attack this aggressively.

''I can imagine how much you dislike this strategy, partner. It is not your style.'' Atem admits mentally, understanding him.

Yugi lands on the ground, breathing firmly as Darkness Yugi gets up, his coat badly dismantled.

''Is that all you got?'' Darkness Yugi simply says, swiping off the dirt on his clothes. Yugi just stares at him with disappointment, able to confirm his suspicions.

''… You're not having fun.'' Yugi begins to proclaim while Darkness Yugi stares puzzled. The tricolor head has noticed it and recalling their last duel; his darker half was having fun in a twisted, cruel way but enjoying it nonetheless.

''When I dueled my darker half, he was having a blast. I was too.'' Yugi says, admitting that dueling himself was enjoyable even if the duel was a life-and-death situation. However, he does say upset. ''But this… I don't feel anything from you but hate and fury.''

''… What can I say? I've been-'' Darkness Yugi begins to protest but Yugi immediately calls him out, annoyed. ''Stop pretending to be me.''

''Excuse me?'' His darker half utters in confusion. Atem raises an eyebrow, looking at Yugi also confused.

Yugi isn't sure how to explain it but, as his free hand is gripping on his chest; he can feel the dark half of him deep within him. So it means only one thing…

''I don't know how to put it but I know the darker me is in me, a part of me and what you are something different.'' Yugi begins to explain, more than certain his actual darker half is within him; still content from the last conflict. He then says, glaring at the so-called faker before him. ''Besides, you give yourself away when you mention why I follow the wishes of others. Even my darker half gets it, not wanting to feel abandoned so completing a wish would complete him.''

Atem begins to realize it. Yes, why would Yugi's dark half even get mad about that if he would know that and… it does remind him of someone who has mock Yugi's goals.

Yugi then points his finger at his faker and proclaims, irritated. ''But you… You hate what I want to do but don't care at the same time, like you're trapped in a loop of miserable.''

Frowning upset about that moment against Maximilian when he was alive, Yugi utters madder. "Last time, you forced me to doubt myself but this time I won't fall the same way twice…''

Atem now realizes who it is while Yin-Yang Dragon frowns concerned.

''Sir Dragonaun-kun.'' Yugi reveals calmly. The so-called Darkness Yugi doesn't flinch as he simply utters with a different, deeper voice. ''This mask didn't work as I wanted.''

Suddenly his body begins to dissolve, melting in mist but reveals a body within the faker. Darkness Yugi's image melts away and reveals the one behind the disguise; Sir Dragonaun. Yugi frowns more annoyed, not surprised it was him.

''Is it because you're this serious that you saw through my illusion…'' The armored knightley dragon man begins to speak, theorizing how Yugi saw through him only to tackle him mentally. ''Or simply worry for the wellbeing of Ichigo Momomiya?''

Yugi just glares madder.

''Why?'' Atem begins to question. ''Why would he disguise himself as Yugi's darker half?''

Yin Dragon narrows his gaze towards him and answers him. ''It is likely because he wants to mess with Yugi with the idea he will fight his darker half again.''

''Maybe but it feels pointless if Yugi would fight serious.'' Atem responds telepathically, finding that pointless since Yugi had a plan regardless.

''That's the thing about Sir Dragonaun…'' Yang Dragon then begins to say, sounding frightened. ''He wants Yugi-san to believe he can win.''

Atem looks at the dragon, suspicious that they know more than they lead on.

''Time you tell me why you don't want me to be the Dragon Knight.'' Yugi questions the dragon man knight, more than irritated for all his mockery and cloak & daggers tricks.

''…'' Staring at him silently, Sir Dragonaun raises his right hand forward and points with his right finger claw. ''For because you're no Dragon Knight.''

With the truth revealed, will Yugi be okay to face this overwhelming foe?

Commercial Break:

Atem: Partner, I have a bad feeling about this. Careful.

Yugi: I'm no Dragon Knight? Like hell I'm not!

Yugi glares irritably towards Sir Dragonaun before questioning him. "What the heck does that mean?''

Scoffing at his simple minded headset, Sir Dragonaun explains it coldly. "Exactly what it means. Someone kind like you that cannot bring himself to kill the enemy is not worthy of being a Dragon Knight.''

The tricolor head just scowls annoyed by that statement. Even if he doesn't kill, he still fights like he should. However, Sir Dragonaun is very much aware of it.

''You only became the Dragon Knight because you wanted to protect what was most important in your heart.'' Sir Dragonaun then begins to say, fully aware of how he became one but finds it pathetic. ''That is a weak reason to have power and especially one who doesn't seek to become more, unlike Kojan Uchiha.''

Yugi groans enraged as the dragon man knight further mocks him. ''A human like you who has doubt in his heart, who is weaker than the other Dragon Knight who brought harm to those you vow to protect and you who has failed to protect the one important person in your heart has no right to be a Dragon Knight.''

The young Dragon Knight growls madly. Atem observes, never seeing Yugi this mad towards someone other than Light. Sir Dragonaun is getting under his skin and it is working.

''… I don't care…'' Calming down, still mad, Yugi proclaims as he has no time to blame himself for his failures. ''I have to save Ichigo-kun and this is the only way.''

Sir Dragonaun scoffs as he asks him. ''So you want the full, true powers of a Dragon Knight?''

Yugi doesn't answer him, simply glaring at him. The dragon man eyes him and tells him firmly. ''Then beat me… if you can.''

''I will!'' Already assuming that to be the case, Yugi responds as he takes the first forward. He dashes immediately right at him with Dragon Speed Burst, coming at him with a sword swing. Sir Dragonaun just stands there as Yugi hesitates for a moment but swings downward only for his blade to be caught by the dragon man's claw. Yugi widens his eyes as he tries pushing the blade forward but Sir Dragonaun's claw keeps the Dragon Blade in place.

''Do you really think I fight like your darker half?'' Sir Dragonaun questions him, basically revealing that back then he was fighting without trying or bothering. Yugi doesn't believe him as he pushes forward but no budge is made. Sighing, Sir Dragonaun suddenly thrusts the blade part of Yugi's sword back as he declares. ''You both are weak compare to thy.''

Stun back, Yugi barely reacts as Sir Dragonaun appears in front of him and swings a thrusting claw strike. Yugi immediately vanishes with Yin-Yang Dash, reappearing to his back as he tries to swing until the dragon man's tail instantly twirls and swings, smacking him hard across the face. The impact is strong enough to fling Yugi away almost like a pebble, crashing him hard onto a wall.

''No one else deserves that power, especially weaklings.'' Sir Dragonaun calls him out, turning to the left as Yugi suddenly appears for a swing only for him to widen his eyes. Sir Dragonaun swings his right claw but Yugi vanishes out of the way with Instant Transmission, reappearing in the sky, only for Sir Dragonaun to suddenly appear again in front of him and slams his claw across him and sends him crashing onto the ground.

Sir Dragonaun looks down, scoffing in the air, watching as Yugi pulls him up. His head is bleeding as well as his mouth but glares unshaken.

''No one gets to decide that, including you!'' Yugi tells him off, leaping at him. Sir Dragonaun gazes as he holds up his right claw and manifests a claymore sword.

Yugi glares as he continues coming at him, swinging his blade as Sir Dragonaun responds, swinging back as the two clash steels and sparks, even though Sir Dragonaun's grip is stronger. The two lock tightly as Yugi tries to back away and he swings expertly, performing different swings but Sir Dragonaun moves around each one while expertly blocking each swing. The young Dragon Knight even swings, twirls around as he releases his grip and grabs the blade with his other hand for a waist swing slash but Sir Dragonaun twirls his blade downward and blocks the swing with ease. Yugi twirls around fast in the opposite way, switching hand grip on the blade and swings at him only for Sir Dragonaun to swing back and their blades clash. However, the dragon man's sword is much stronger and it launches the tricolor head onto the wall.

The young Dragon Knight grunts angrily, breathing as clashing blades is too dangerous. Yugi then comes at him with Dragon Speed Burst to kick him into the air and dashes upward with Yin-Yang Dash, appearing above him as he shouts. ''DRAGONAUN AETHER!''

He swings instantly but Sir Dragonaun simply lets out a shrieking roar, so strong it sends Yugi flying away before he appears above him and swings his claymore downward. Yugi dashes away again with Yin-Yang Dash, distancing himself only for Sir Dragonaun to appear right before him with greater speed, taunting him coldly. ''Why are you running away?''

The tricolor head widens his eyes as Sir Dragonaun swings his claymore as Yugi blocks but the slash slams him onto a wall. He grunts and widens his eyes as the Dragon Blade's blade is cut in half.

''He cut through the Dragon Blade too?!'' Atem utters in dismay, worrying.

Sir Dragonaun scoffs as he tells Yugi. ''You cannot win.''

The Pharaoh watches in dismay while Yin-Yang Dragon remains silent, fully aware Sir Dragonaun isn't even fighting seriously; he's not even trying.

Yugi glares towards him, swiping his hand through his half broken blade and it reforms instantly.

''I beg to differ!'' He declares, charging forward as he shouts. ''DRAGONAUN BLADE SLASH!''

However, before the blade ignites in flames, Sir Dragonaun appears to his side and raises his hand. Yugi barely turns around as he releases a burst of intense gray flames. Yugi blocks it but the attack still blasts him onto the ground. Atem watches, bracing himself as Yugi staggers to pull himself up, now his coat badly damaged and the Dragon Blade once more cracked.

Sir Dragonaun looks down at him and mocks him with a hint of hate in his voice. ''You never could understand the full power of the Dragon Blade. You just think of it as a mere tool to protect your friends and home? What nonsense!''

He unleashes a vicious aura that staggers Yugi, gripping his feet across the ground.

''A Dragon Knight's powers are beyond power. Your Dragon Blade is a fake compared to the true Dragon Blade; a weapon of endless destruction, greed, pride and power! That is why it is the Dragon Knight's greatest power! And you don't even understand how to use it! Why? Because you are no Dragon Knight!'' Sir Dragonaun roars angrily with such power it is able to unleash a shockwave that blasts Yugi onto the wall. He crashes through but he somersaults and lands back on the ground. He swipes the Dragon Blade and restores it only for Sir Dragonaun to suddenly appear in front of him, grabbing on the blade to Yugi's shock.

''You don't even know how to even make this fake intimidation into the real Dragon Blade.'' Sir Dragonaun proclaims with such disgust, clinching his armored claw tighter on the blade that it cracks by its pressure. Yugi ignores his nonsense, trying to break free but couldn't.

''And do you know why?'' Yugi gazes as Sir Dragonaun begins to tell him coldly, revealing to him. ''Because I made sure you would never gain access to its full power.''

''W-what?'' Yugi utters in dismay. Sir Dragonaun soon grips and cracks the blade before punching Yugi with an uppercut. He screams as he's launched upward. He manages to land his feet on the wall. He breathes heavily, looking down at Sir Dragonaun with a look of dismay.

''You've been… holding me back? This entire time?'' Yugi asks him, his legs trembling from not just the impact from earlier but the revelation. All his training he's spent, his time to wield his powers correctly and get used to them and he's only been using a fraction of it. Frowning upset, he asks him seriously. ''Why?!''

Sir Dragonaun looks up at him, uninterested. Scowling madder, Yugi reforms the Dragon Blade as he roars demandingly. ''Answer me!''

Remaining silent at first, Sir Dragonaun finally speaks with a cold gaze. ''A Dragon Knight is no mere child or one with a good or kind heart; it is one with a cold, hateful heart that even despair cannot hurt him.''

Yugi glares madder as Sir Dragonaun reveals to him. ''Someone like you, like other Dragon Knights before you, both the heroic and the kind including your own father; are all pathetic and weak.''

The tricolor head glares furiously as the red aura of Yin-Yang Dragon grows.

''And they all share two things.'' Sir Dragonaun proclaims, lifting two finger claws at him. ''Despair and Death. That is why a Dragon Knight should not be heroic or kind but ruthless.''

Yugi still glares madder as Sir Dragonaun proclaims with cruelty in his voice. ''That's what makes you weak, Yugi. You should have never become the Dragon Knight because a Dragon Knight's one and only true goal is one and one purpose should be to rule over the weak and destroy the darkness. It doesn't matter who stands in your way, friend or foe; you slaughter those who would suppressed what you must do and win.''

Atem is silent by all of this, not sure what to think while Yin-Yang Dragon frowns, rather hurt by his words.

''… Liar…'' Sir Dragonaun looks directly towards Yugi who has this tense glare as he protests. ''My father, Ike-kun and Zack-kun would-''

''And that's why you or they are no knights.'' Sir Dragonaun immediately interrupts him, mocking those he mentions as other failures. ''You are fools with no intelligence to realize that what you've been doing is pathetic. In fact, you were never good at protecting anyone. And you know what else; you never needed to protect anyone. And those fools, especially Takao, died in misery and failure.''

Yugi snaps and suddenly stomps his foot and flies downward with Yin-Yang Dash, swinging the Dragon Blade and hitting nothing but air. He widens his eyes as Sir Dragonaun is now behind him, further mocking him. ''You don't even know why you're even the Dragon Knight and why you think what you were doing was right? It wasn't. You've been a mess up this entire time. A shame but at the least Kojan has proved what a real Dragon Knight is.''

''… Shut up.'' Yugi simply utters out coldly. Sir Dragonaun scoffs, eyeing towards him and just continues mocking him. ''You never knew who you really are, child. Just some boy who wants to make your father's dying wish come true?''

Yugi widens his eyes as he comes twirling towards him with a sword swing but his slash hits nothing but air.

''Pathetic. He's dead, and you will only dig your own grave if you continue following such dead dreams! Just as much as remembering happiness like your dead mother.'' Sir Dragonaun, now behind him, further taunts him.

''Shut up.'' Yugi utters as kindly as he could swallow his hate. Sir Dragonaun does not as he further mocks him. ''That is the difference between you and the Dark Lord. The difference between you and Sosuke Aizen. The difference between you and Kojan Uchiha. And of course, the difference between you... and me: You are too soft, too kind, and you're too mindless to understand even that. It's why you need your friends because you are weak. Your kindness is a sin… just like your believe in Atem.''

That hit a nerve as Yugi roars, turning around viciously as his eyes glow redder. ''I SAID SHUT UP!''

But immediately his claw is swiped by Sir Dragonaun and followed by a strong sword swing, slashing and slamming Yugi onto the ground.

''Like your friend who has lost faith in you! That is the path of a weakling! Everyone wants a hero, but when the hero fails, then he's abandoned by both the people he protects and his own friends, family and love ones... including so-called lover.'' The dragon man then proclaims, insulting the failures Yugi has made especially towards Ichigo. Yugi stands up instantly, gasping as he's bleeding across his chest but healing.

''I SAID... SHUT UP!'' Yugi yells, even more furious towards him. Sir Dragonaun just scoffs as he further says, mocking him even more than before. ''Then again, you always said that you're no hero... and that's one thing you're right about. You're no savior, or someone to believe in. You're a weakling. And sadly... because of that, Ichigo is gone... lost to us forever, all because you never embrace your true nature. It doesn't matter, it's not like she never cares about you. She might have felt sad for such a weak child like you, dumping her real boyfriend to make a little boy like you happy.''

Atem glares, enraged by what he just said. To Yugi, to Ichigo; those two care deeply for another and have gone through a lot. But most importantly, Ichigo admires and adores Yugi. And this worries him as-

''I JUST SAID TO SHUT UP!'' Panicking, Yugi screams out of fury that his energy becomes a wildfire. Atem sweats by his raw hatred, not seeing him this filled with hate not since against Kisshu or Mew Blackberry.

Not even focusing, Yugi dashes forward like a wild animal, swinging the Dragon Blade around at him. Sir Dragonaun simply moves around his swings as Yugi isn't even thinking anymore with his mind filled with hate and anger.

''SHUT UP!'' Yugi shouts, swinging aggressively but his attacks hitting nothing.

''SHUT UP!'' Yugi still roars as his swings become more twisted and monstrous but nothing hits Sir Dragonaun and yet he doesn't care, shouting furiously. ''SHUT UP!''

Atem watches, helpless to see his partner acting like this. He got under his skin and he can get it.

Sir Dragonaun, bored of his reckless attacks, swings his claymore and tears through the Dragon Blade again. Yugi tries to attack him but then his dragon tail wraps around his neck. He chokes heavily as Sir Dragonaun pulls him in front of him and starts punching his gut over and over with his free claw, beating him down heavily. Atem groans madder as the dragon man's tail then tosses Yugi onto the ground.

He watches as Yugi breathes, gasping blood from his mouth. He breathes loudly, his vision even more blurry. He struggles up, trying to reform the Dragon Blade but it refuses.

''I-I…'' Uttering weakly, Yugi tries lifting his left arm over him as he calls out for the help of his partners, screaming. ''I need your power, Yin-Yang Dragon! STAGE 4!''

Everyone watches and nothing happens. Yugi has a confused face, not feeling anything. Scoffing, Sir Dragonaun proclaims firmly. ''You really think depending on those two dragons will beat me?''

He vanishes and Yugi screams as he's arm bashed by Sir Dragonaun having appeared before him.

''Even if they wouldn't care and would grant you more of their power, they will not before me.'' He proclaims firmly to Yugi's further confusion, too weak to ask. Sir Dragonaun turns to look at the spirit heads of Yin-Yang Dragon, both trembling as they move back.

''They're too scared to tell you the truth… very well…'' The dragon man scoffs at their cowardly nature as he reveals to the child. ''They were once mined. I was the first one to use their 'power'. ''

Yugi widens his eyes again as does Atem, questioning him. ''What do you mean? Do you mean they were once your partners? You're their original user?''

Sir Dragonaun once more scoffs at his assumptions as he corrects him. ''And they are not partners; they are an extension to my will.''

The Pharaoh glares not following. The dragon man doesn't care as he tells him coldly. ''And if I told you the rest of the story, it would be all but pointless.''

The two-headed dragon growls, trying to speak to protest but Sir Dragonaun immediately orders them firmly and a gaze. His look paralyzes Yin-Yang Dragon, looking down defeated. Yugi sees this and gets mad to see them put down.

''As for you…'' Sir Dragonaun begins to say, turning his attention back to Yugi only to witness swirls of purple flames. Gasping loudly, Yugi holds up the struggling reformed Dragon Blade as he struggles to yell out. ''R-ROAR… H-HEA-HEAVENLY… DRAGON!''

Sir Dragonaun just watches as he flies up. Timing it, Yugi roars as he swings his blade forward right at him. ''DRAGONAUN TENGOKU!''

The blade unleashes the wave of flames, manifesting into the purple serpent dragon. It roars, coming right at Sir Dragonaun who scoffs. He stops in midair and holds up his free claw. The energy dragon rams itself at full force at the dragon man. Yugi watches as his eyes look horrified as the heavenly dragon roars in agony by Sir Dragonaun's claw grip before he clenches it and the dragon dissolves into nothing.

Yugi stares horrified as Sir Dragonaun looks down at him and proclaims calmly. ''My turn…''

Swinging his claymore to his side, gray flames erupt from the steel blade. Yugi watches with such horror, not possible that he can also-

''DRAGONAUN…'' Sir Dragonaun begins to utter out, raising his claymore above his head and then swings downward. ''TENGOKU.''

His sword swings and releases a burst of gray flames, transforming into a similar energy serpent dragon. It roars as it flies right towards Yugi instantly, consuming him. The dragon slams the young Dragon Knight right out of the castle, tearing through the walls before it glows and explodes.

Atem immediately panics, running to the edge of the destroyed wall and widens his eyes to see Yugi emerging out of the explosion but falling down to the endless abyss with only the handle of the destroyed Dragon Blade in his hand. Yugi can't stop himself, his vision is consumed in darkness. And all he can think about is Ichigo and how he's failing her.

''If… If I wasn't weak… then…'' He utters mentally, too weak to do anything but also apologizes to all of his friends he's failing. ''S-Sorry…''

Atem widens his eyes as Yugi falls and consumes in the bottomless darkness. He looks down, gritting his teeth as he trembles in fury.

''Y-Y…'' He starts muttering out before he yells out in agony. "YUGI!''

Sir Dragonaun watches and scoffs. At last, the end of the Dragon Knight.

Is this truly the end?

Next Time…

Like a dream, Yugi woke up on his bed back home. He was 15 years old as he was heading to school like normally… though… this wasn't right as he was fighting Sir Dragonaun before. As he walked, he came across someone he could have sworn he met but she was 12 years old. She asked for his help to find the train station and he went to help her only for the two to be attacked by a strange entity. Yugi is shocked but his legs begin to move. Is this a test?

DragonKnight15: Sometimes I wonder… if we could get a second chance to be happier or do things right and avoid your mistakes in the past life? Or start over? For most, it is a dream come true… but will Yugi be okay with that? Not everyone but will he? Will he wake up?

Next time in Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon Knight Reborn: The Empathy that I Cherish and the Father that I Believe!

Please remember to read, enjoy and review. See you all next time.

Author's Note: ... Okay, let's start.

It's a nice twist that it is Sir Dragonaun standing in Yugi's path and the one responsible for not letting him get his full powers. And when Yugi does try to fight him, it is impossible against Sir Dragonaun's superior skills, experience and power.

Now… the outburst. Yugi is kind and calm, becoming angry or enraged is not his thing… but no character has ever pushed his buttons so far that Sir Dragonaun has done; mocking him, his parents, his goals, himself, Kojan's descend, his friends, Ichigo and Atem. That was more than enough to cross his nerves and lose it… and it cost him. Or what Kisshu (YEA... that's a thing I'll have to fix about Kish's name now sadly) did in Volume 2. Or Volume 5.

Plus we learn a connection between Sir Dragonaun and Yin-Yang Dragon, something that will be covered more in the future. But hmm, Yin-Yang wasn't the partner of Sir Dragonaun but something else? No homo, but something else.

Now is Sir Dragonaun evil? HMM… No. He's cruel for he's seen more than Yugi has and wants to end the legacy of the Dragon Knight. Why? Well you'll find out soon.

Next time… something unique and a resolution?
