Chapter 25:
Plenty Of Time
After the training with Marina and Gaia was done, Twilight, Spike, Gaia, and Marina returned to the Pool Of Visions. Celestia and Luna had a theory about why Slash is stealing the Guardians' powers and they explained it to the others. However, the Guardians, the Mane 5 and Spike aren't exactly sure what the Royal Sisters are talkin' about or even saying.
"So, what exactly are you and Luna saying, Celestia?" Marina asked.
"Yes, your hypothesis to this situation is quite an intriguing one," Gaia said.
"But it is a perplexing thorium to the extreme," Voltwing said, tapping his hoof on the floor.
"Uh, Twilight. Any clue on what that means?" Spike asked, turning to Twilight in confusion.
"He's saying that he doesn't know what they're talking about," Twilight simplified for him.
"Ugh, I never understand what he's saying," Spike groaned, rubbing his eyes in annoyance.
"Hey, sometimes I don't understand him either. I can't even understand Pinkie when she talks too much," Rainbow Dash stated as Pinkie looked at her with a bewildered look, feeling quite offended.
"What Luna and I are saying is that Slash must be…harnessing the guardians' magic to unlock a portal…," Celestia said.
"... that must never be open," Luna said finishing her sisters' sentence.
"Portal? You don't think they're talking about…" Fluttershy whimpered to the others, shaking in fear from what they were talking about.
"The Forbidden Portal," Rarity replied, feeling the same as Fluttershy as the yellow Alicorn shivers more in fear.
"Forbidden Portal? What's that?" Twilight asked, raising a brow about this Forbidden Portal.
"The Forbidden Portal is a very dangerous thing and nopony dares to go near it," Rainbow Dash started explaining about the Portal.
"And it's said that the Forbidden Portal must remain close at all times and must never be opened," Fluttershy finished, still shivering from the thought of the Portal opening.
"But why? And what's behind this portal, Celestia?" Twilight asked turning to Celestia, wanting to know more about this portal they speak of.
"That doesn't concern you right now, Twilight. But what does concern you is getting to the Dragon Lands and freeing Cliffbore and Inferno before Slash could create another pair of crystals from their powers," Celestia assured her.
"And before the Volcano-Vrrrmmm-blows it's…it's…," Storm Heart tried to say but stammered
"That's enough, Storm Heart. There's still plenty of time, plenty of time," Luna assured her.
"Plenty of time for what? Let more horrible things happen to us? Why didn't we just stay in Mount Aris? Oh, I'm a big deal there," Spike complained.
"Quit complaining, Spike…," Twilight said, shaking her head.
"...Yeah, maybe there's a nation in the Dragon Lands you could save too," Pinkie added.
"Yeah, but there's always something special about the first nation you save, you know?" Spike said.
"Be sure to be careful. The Dragon Lands is where the largest majority of Slash's forces are. Perhaps it is best that you and Spike go by yourselves. A smaller group will draw less attention to yourselves," Celestia said, offering her suggestion to Twilight and Spike.
"Don't worry Celestia. We'll make sure to stay at a low profile," Twilight said, assuring her mentor that they'll be careful.
"Yeah, we'll hurry there, rescue Cliffbore and Inferno before Slash can get those crystals, without those Monkey Brains ever knowing we're there," Spike said.
"Then we wish you two the best of luck, and please do be careful," Marina said, saluting them with her wing as the two returned the salute and headed off to the Dragon Lands.
