For the first time ever she was mad at Holt. Really mad.

The team was gearing up for the operation that would change it all and she had not been included. She had asked, again, and he had refused again. She had wanted to ask why, and the captain had firmly ended the discussion. And Amy had felt a strong urge to storm out and throw the door. It took a great deal of effort not to.

Rosa gave her a knowing look and Amy approached her.

"Did you talk to Holt?"

"I didn't." Rosa said, placing her gun on the holder. "But he knows you well enough. I agree with him, you shouldn't be part of this."

"Why?"

"Are you really asking?"

Amy grunted. "Yeah?"

Rosa shook her head. "Even if it weren't because of Jake, you've been too deep. You've been going after these guys for a while and you and I know you've been seen." Amy grunted again, and this time Rosa made a grimace that looked almost like a smile. "I promise you I'll tell you the moment it's over."

"Ok. Thanks."

"He's going to be ok."

"Yeah. Sure. Cool."

And no much long after, the team was gone. The only thing left to do was to listen to the operation on the radio and ignore the funny jumps her heart was making as she heard how Jake, now wired, spoke to several people for a long time. Amy didn't know the specifics so she had no idea how long she would be listening to him apparently enjoying himself at a wedding. And then, he was talking to some people, making a toast, and suddenly the action began.

It seemed to be happening all at once. The cries of "NYPD, you're under arrest!" Several people asking what was going on. The police officer reporting that there had been no casualties. Holt instructing what to do with the perps.

And then silence.

Amy looked at her phone. Nothing. Ten minutes passed. Still nothing. What was taking Rosa so long?

"Santiago, wanna share a pizza?"

She knew Scully was just trying to be nice but she shushed him nonetheless.

Nothing.

And then a message.

He's been taken to the FBI for debriefing. They said it'll take a while.

Amy's fingers were shaky as relief washed over her. Thank you Rosa.

She took some time to order the things on the desk, and then a second or two to look at his almost empty one, unusually clean and tidy. Not for long. Trying to hide her smile, Amy took her bag and left.
