Fluffy Filler (a filler chapter)

A gorgeous sunrise shined through the window, spreading golden beams across the room. Tired's mind slowly arose out of it's slumber. The first thing she feels is her body pillow, which she assumes she clung onto the entire night. She snuggled to it closer, not quite wanting to get out of bed yet. The firmness of the pillow and the radiant light shining through the window comforted her in a way that-

Wait…

She didn't have a window…or a body pillow.

When her brain processed this, she jolted upright and looked around. The room was covered in pillows and shirts with the number 14 on it. The memories of last night's events started flooding back into her head. Slowly, she turned her head to what she thought was a firm body pillow.

Bus was sleeping right next to her.

She gasped and held her breath. Internally, she was freaking out. Her plan was to sleep in the guest room, so how did she end up in this situation? Her heart stopped.

"Wait…I didn't…We didn't…Did we?"

She looked down at herself. She was wearing yesterday's outfit. She let her breath go.

"Thank God…"

Soon after, however, she felt rustling next to her and held her breath again. Bus rose up and stretched. She couldn't get out of there in time. Bus saw her.

"Sh!t…" She cursed herself in her head.

Bus acted like nothing happened, flaunting his usual smile.

"Mornin'!"

She sprang out of bed and crossed her arms over her chest.

"W…Were you…cuddling me???"

"Pfft- Don't get it twisted, miss grumpy pants. I was just minding my own business and trying to catch some Z's. If anything, you were cuddling up to me~"

Tired had to try denying it. She couldn't let him win again, not after he already won last night.

"Yeah, right! You're full of it!"

"Oh, yeah? Then, why did I feel someone snuggling up to my chest just a few seconds ago?"

He inched closer to her.

"Care to explain?~"

Tired wouldn't back down, but she was running out of things to say. He was supposed to be more athletic than smart, so why did he keep outsmarting her? It was so odd. She hated it. She looked him directly in the eye, but she couldn't hide the blush in her cheeks.

"I think you have more to explain than me. I thought I was supposed to sleep in the guest room. Why am I in your bed?"

"You tell me! I was just going to get some water to hydrate after our pillow fight, and I came back to you sleeping under my covers. I sat next to you to confirm that you were out cold, and you just latched onto me. I didn't wanna wake you up, so I stayed."

Tired starting to gain her memories back. Everything was fuzzy after the pillow fight, supposedly after she fell asleep. She didn't have a hangover, so she had nothing to drink. The last thing she remembered was hugging a pillow…

At least, she thought it was a pillow. Knowing he was right, Bus smirked.

"So like I said…you snuggled me, not the other way around. I think your subconscious loves me more than you let on~"

"W-Well…I…"

She couldn't say anything, and Bus knew she couldn't.

Once again, she lost.

She glared at him.

"You're such a prick."

"Eh. I've been called worse by you."

Tired knew where this was leading. Both of them, facing close to each other, trying to push each other's buttons. She might have lost, but she wouldn't let him have the time of day by giving him more. She pushed him away, her eyes glancing away from him.

"Yeah, yeah. Go brush your teeth, morning breath."

Bus laughed a bit through his nose and was about to do what she said, but just then, his phone buzzed. He opened it to see a text, and he smiled in comfort. He glanced back up at Tired.

"My coach is going to be okay. He just texted me saying that he's better and is going to help us practice today."

Even though Tired didn't show it, she was secretly relieved, too. She was glad to see Bus free of stress. However, she clearly couldn't reveal that to him without some snarkiness to her tone.

"That means you'll definitely need to brush your teeth, then. You don't want that breath in front of your newly-healed coach. Yeesh!"

Bus got up and nodded, but he couldn't help but sneak a peck on the cheek before running off. Tired let out a "HEY!!!" before hearing the faint sound of Bus cackling and running off.
