But also i have a complete lack of time now that school is over for the semester so I will try to post on fridays but that also depends if i know when friday is. Also i'm posting twice today just for you guys so here ya go

It had been four days since April saw Cori last. She had not seen her since their...fight after school on Friday. Initially, she was relieved by her partner's disappearance, but she knew Cori would have to show up at some point. They could not avoid each other forever, no matter how much they may want to.

April sat at her lab table in chemistry. She tapped her pencil nervously against the laminated table top. Class had not started yet, and the chatter of the other students were loud enough for Mrs. Strenold to not notice April's nosy tapping and chastise her. April stared at the pencil. Her blue eyes fixated, unwilling to look anywhere else. She needed a distraction, any distraction, to not think about Cori. The school bell rang and the students quickly sat in their seats. Deep in her concentration, it took a moment for April to realize that Mrs. Strenold had not started her lecture yet. The older woman was very strict and would teach as soon as the bell rang. She broke her gaze from the pencil and looked to the front of her room.

Her stomach lurched as she saw Cori standing there, talking to the teacher. April could not hear what the two were saying over the hushed tones of students excitedly talking. Mrs. Strenold nodded and Cori turned towards April. April averted her eyes and slouched in her chair. She refused to look while Cori scraped her chair against the ground. She dropped her book bag onto the floor with a thud and sat down in the chair to April's left.

April fiddled with her hair before stealing a glance at Cori. She was wearing her usual outfit of a hoodie with gloves. Her dark brown hair was uncombed with stray strands of hair sticking out. April thought her nose seemed a little purplish like it was bruised. Cori continued to face the front of the class, flickering her amber eyes towards her gawking classmate. April quickly looked away. She placed her left hand against the side of her face, trying to block her classmate's judging gaze. She tapped her pencil against the table even faster.

"Ms. O'Neil, do you mind?" her teacher grumbled. April immediately stopped tapping her pencil and quickly said, "Sorry, Mrs. Strenold." Her teacher huffed and continued to lecture whatever it was she was lecturing about. Her words went straight over April's head. She could not focus on anything other than her classmate sitting barely a foot away from her. With no pencil, she tapped her foot nervously on the ground. The two girls did not talk to each other for the rest of the class. They did not even talk at all. April was trying everything in her power to not even acknowledge Cori's existence. They never really talked much before. It was always just a light banter. The awkward silence they shared in the past was never as excruciating as it was now.

When April heard the bell ring again, she immediately shot up. She hastily collected her things and was about to leave when Cori said, "April, we need to talk." April forced herself to face Cori. She was right about her nose; it was definitely bruised. Cori appeared sickly. Her eyes were bloodshot and her dark circles were especially pronounced today.

"I really have to go—"

"You know about them too..."

April stopped. At first, she thought Cori had meant the turtles. Donnie had told her about what happened after she left Cori's apartment, but there was no way for Cori to know that she knew about them. April felt a rush of relief as Cori continued saying, "...the Kraang."

She was still unsettled by Cori's directness. "I have to go," she said firmly. She glared at Cori before rushing out of the classroom. Cori clenched her hand into a fist and watched the redhead leave. April continued on with her classes, anxiously waiting to talk to Casey. While they usually sat together at lunch, she was never alone with him. Irma had taken a spot at their lunch table. Her presence was normally comforting to April, but she could not talk about Cori in front of her. She wanted to talk to Casey, alone.

The jumpy teen found him as soon as her last class finished. Usually, it was Casey that met April at her locker at the end of the day. This time, April practically ran through the halls to find Casey. He was just closing his locker door when he saw April. He looked at her with surprise but smiled. "Hey April, how's it—"

April wordless grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the building.

"Red, slow down! You're gonna pull my arm off!"

They passed by a group of students hanging out at the front steps of the high school. They laughed and gave the two confused looks. Casey blushed and pulled his black bandana down timidly. "April, stop already," he said lowly through his teeth. It was only until April strayed off the school's campus that she began to talk.

"Casey, you're never going to believe what happened."

"Whatever it is, it better be good if you dragged me through the whole school for it."

"I saw Cori today."

Casey rubbed his arm and said slowly, "Yeah…? I mean, doesn't she go to school here?"

"That's not the point. You know what happened with her and the guys, right?"

"Yeah, Raph filled me in the other day. Heard she went psycho or something and tried to take on the Kraang by herself."

"Well, now she wants to talk to me about it."

"About what happened with the guys?"

"No! Well, probably. She told me she knew that I knew about the Kraang. What am I supposed to do?"

"Did you tell her anything?"

"No. What am I supposed to say? The Kraang are interdimensional aliens that came to invade Earth and have been trying to kidnap me for the past year?"

"I mean, if she knows about the Kraang she might already know about the whole alien invasion part."

April frowned at his response. "You're not helping. How am I supposed to explain everything but not bring up the guys?"

Casey scratched the back of his head as the two continued to walk through the city. "She already knows about the turtles. Why not just spill?"

"She doesn't know that I know about them though."

"So, what? You just gonna avoid her everyday at school. I may be able to skip classes, but I know you're too much of a goody two-shoes to do that everyday."

"I'm not a 'goody two-shoes.' Some of us happen to care about our grades." Casey scoffed at April's remark with a smirk.

"I don't know what to say, April. You can't ignore her forever."

"I can try. I just don't—" April stopped and stood rigidly. She brushed a piece of her copper hair from her face before looking around cautiously. "April?" Casey looked around as well but then rested his gaze on her. She kept studying the area. A few cars passed them on the street. There were a couple of pedestrians, but they all seemed normal. She raised her eyes to the sky, scanning the roof tops. "I just… I just felt like someone was watching us," she said finally.

"Who? The Foot? The Kraang?"

"I don't know…" She faced Casey and continued saying, "I think we should take a different route to see the guys tonight."

"Whatever you say, Red."

The two pressed on, April looking over her shoulder every now and then.
