Chapter 1 - T. Rex Returns Part 1
French Narrator: "There is something missing from our world; the amazing animals that time has left behind. But what if we could bring them back? What if extinction didn't have to be forever? We're going back in time on a safari with a difference as wildlife adventurers, Thomas Tran, Charlie Yeager, and the Toons plunge into prehistory to rescue creatures on the brink of extinction. Their plan is to bring them back to the safety of the present and give them a second chance. On their very first mission, they hope to rescue one of the last of the dinosaurs from the most dramatic extinction ever. Welcome to the ultimate wildlife sanctuary. Welcome to Paleo Park."
The Costa Rican sun was high in the sky as dozens of workers toiled and labored, erecting stockades and laying the foundations for fencing and other building structures on Oscuro island. Among the workers is a white bald man with a beard in his 60s, This is Travis Torres, the head keeper who oversaw the progress made. Coming from a zoo background he worked at previous zoos in the UK like Edinburgh Zoo, ZSL London Zoo, Colchester Zoo, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Chester Zoo, and Longleat Safari Park. He gave specific orders in a cockney accent as the perimeters were being set and more fences were being raised.
French Narrator: "It's a big day at Paleo Park. Throughout this huge reserve, everyone is busy preparing for the first arrival."
Travis: "Come on, lads, quick as you like. Can you get over there to get a ten-foot pole at the bottom of the paddock?"
French Narrator: "They're almost finished building the enclosures for everything from giant insects to dinosaurs."
Travis: "Remember, check everything, 'cause it's going to be home to a dangerous creature."
A jeep drove through the partially constructed park, stopped, and grinned broadly, as the heroes, Thomas Tran and Charlie Yeager got out.
French Narrator: "The land Thomas and Charlie are looking over is Oscuro Island is 120 miles south of Costa Rica, owned by Nexus, and, looking at it, they'd picked the right one for the project. The construction crew was currently working on every habitat that extinct wildlife could live in. If Thomas can make extinct animals feel like home anywhere it's here."
Charlie: "Whoo! Nothing like getting out of the car, and stretching your legs, huh?"
Thomas: "Sure is Chuck, but look at this place. The natural geography will help us contain the animals." (As Thomas pointed out various features and landmarks on his map he brought out.) "There's the ocean, there's a mountain range. Everything we need in terms of habitats: there's savannah, Plains, tropical rainforests, coral reefs, forests, rivers, deserts, snowfields somehow, and there's even a waterfall. Perfect environments for keeping prehistoric animals."
Charlie: "Basically, we could house any animal the company wanted right?"
French Narrator: "All they need now are the prehistoric creatures themselves."
The scene shows Thomas Tran strolling through the halls of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, its exhibits full of various fossils celebrating the prehistoric past, especially those of dinosaurs in the Dinosaur Hall.
French Narrator: "One day, the CEO Richard Holwell plans to breed extinct animals in captivity. But the first step is to only bring species from one ecosystem back, to see how they get on in the 21st Century."
Amidst the fossil bones and skeletons, one, in particular, catches his eye. Looming over him was the towering skeleton of a massive dinosaur, jaws lined with rows of sharp teeth. It was a life stage exhibit with different skeletons of different ages ranging from a young juvenile to a Teenager to an Adult.
French Narrator: "And Richard knows exactly what he wants to start with. The meanest and scariest of them all: Tyrannosaurus rex! Richard has already worked out arranging the rescue team when and where they'll have to go to track one down."
Thomas walked into his office; he needed a meeting with the other high-ranking members of staff about Richard's first choice. As he entered the building, he saw several people sitting on chairs around a large round table. Whilst he recognized Charlie and the toons, most of the people sitting at the table were new faces. He never ceased being surprised as to how large Nexua was; pretty much everybody sitting was transferred from some part of the company. As Thomas went to his chair, he mentally took note of everyone.
The head of security was a tall, bald, African-American man with a mustache in his early 40s, He was an ex-soldier back in the Mozambican Civil War before becoming a hunter and then game warden for the Gorongosa National Park. He had many scars from the era that lasted from the late 70s to the early 90s, mostly on his right arm and forehead. He was quite evasive about his past since he suffered from a lot of PTSD for many years and he hopes a new job by joining Nexus would help overcome it.
Sitting next to him was the Head scientist of the research division, a young Japanese-American immigrant man with messy black hair, and in his early 20s. This was Akio Yama, he is reading through his books as he prefers his research work over socializing.
Sitting next to Travis was the head veterinarian Geronimo Swindell and his assistant sitting next to him Phoebe Campbell who had short brown hair in her late 40s. Geronimo was a British man with straight gray hair in his early 60s. He was a veterinarian working at various pet clinics and zoos around the world (Singapore Zoo, Los Angeles Zoo, Bronx Zoo, Australia Zoo, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and Taronga Zoo) before joining Nexus in their various projects before becoming the chief head veterinarian at Paleo Park.
Thomas: Okay, is everyone here?!
All: "Yes! Present! Here!"
Thomas: "I see a few new faces, I read you are skilled and competent. Some of you worked for the company before and some were hired, tempted by the prospect of "new frontiers" or Money. I read through your resumes before working at Nexus. Some of you worked at places before in accredited zoological institutions around the world and one of you is an ex-civil war soldier in Mozambique dealing with PTSD. Now onto business. Here is a question for you all, who knows how the dinosaurs went extinct? Raise your hand?!"
All at once, everyone raised their hand as they had all been taught and learned how the dinosaurs became extinct. Thomas had to choose one in the crowd so he pointed to Lincoln.
Lincoln: "The meteorite crash landed on the earth?"
Thomas: "Exactly correct, Lincoln" (As the zoologist shows everyone the map of Late Cretaceous earth.) "The most widely accepted theory about why dinosaurs became extinct is an asteroid hence meteor smashed into the Earth. This is the Earth 66 million years ago. This is where the impact was, somewhere in Mexico in the Yucatán Peninsula. You can still see the crater. Our location would be the Hell Creek Formation in Montana which is one of the richest and most studied fossil sites in the world and North America. The creature Richard wants to rescue first is one you're familiar with You know it! You saw it! You fear it! You're amazed by it! An icon of Dinosaur in all forms of pop culture!"
Thomas brings out a picture on a board of a large two-legged theropod dinosaur, with two-fingered claw arms, and sharp teeth everyone gasps as they know what dinosaur they're going after, the King of the Dinosaurs.
Thomas: "Behold the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex!"
Charlie: "So, we're going up against the king of the Dinosaurs Itself?!"
Mordecai: "Should we be afraid of it?"
Rigby: "Correction, terrified."
Mr. Krabs: "It's going to be quite the catch!"
The others look worried with scared looks on their faces shivering and whimpering. They saw the movies and it's obvious Tyrannosaurus was a carnivore and it was dangerous.
Eddy: "Um Thomas, haven't you seen the movies and documentaries?"
Thomas: "I understand how dangerous the T. Rex is and it's a predator of course. But we'll try to be careful. It's not just T. Rex we'll encounter, the Hell Creek is the place where fossils of some of the most dinosaurs have been found like Ankylosaurus and Triceratops, and around that time there were masses of T. Rexes here. So we start like about a week that'll give us enough time to get as much as rescuing as many dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures as we can along the way and leave. Hopefully, we'll get out of there before the meteorite even breaks the atmosphere."
Bloo: "And if we don't?"
Thomas: "We improvise anyone who'd like to say anything, raise your hand?"
Travis raised his hand first.
Trey: "As head of security, I need to be informed of any potential dangers these creatures could cause, I don't want any of them going on a rampage and eating people who are in the restroom."
Thomas: "Yes, of course, the T. Rex would be Categorized as Extremely Dangerous, It is a carnivore after all, But there are creatures that are dangerous including herbivores, I'd take some precautions with it, it might injure someone, but that's about it."
Trey: "Could I know what those other animals might be?"
Thomas: "T. Rex was most likely the top predator, There were some raptors back then and large herbivores like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus can be dangerous!"
Thomas looked to Double D who drew a folder out of his backpack.
Double D: "Don't you worry, Thomas, Charlie, and I worked out a system that we put in place by Richard and got his approval for on the day we first got hired. The day after Richard gave us our target, I made sure to compile all the information I could find about it and anything else we might encounter into a document, and we printed out two copies. Here's yours, Trey."
As Double D passed the makeshift data file over to Trey
Sam: "Wait You said you made two copies. Where's the other one?"
Double D: "Oh that," (rubbing his head sheepishly) "I gave it to Travis the day before he started work on building the exhibits for today's mission."
Travis: "That is correct, sonny boy, Richard stated that I should receive a copy of this file as early as possible so I'd have a reasonable idea of both what to expect and what exhibits to design."
Phoebe: "He also sent me a copy. After all, the sooner we have a rough idea of what to expect, the better."
Geronimo: "It's best to get to know what creatures we are dealing with before we start rescuing them."
Double D: "All that said, I also made sure to highlight certain types of animals in ways that I figured would be a good way to gouge potential threat levels. If you have any questions or suggestions on ways to refine it, I'm all ears – however, what I do is give you a copy of the file, you read it, and then pass it along to your team as you see fit."
Trey: "Double D, that seems reasonable; I'm impressed at your diligence. I'll look through the file and contact my team immediately."
Akio: "And what of the ones you don't know?"
Everyone looked at the Japanese scientist. Why would he ask a question like that?
Akio: "As I'm sure we are all aware, the fossil record is notoriously incomplete – new species are still being discovered every day. Answer me this, what would happen if you were to encounter an undiscovered species throughout these missions?"
Charlie: "We took that into consideration as well."
Dexter: "We discussed this with Richard. For situations like that, we'll decide based on size and potential threat level. Any unfamiliar animals that are deemed minimal threat level will be automatically sent through. Animals of a moderate threat level are either going to be sent through automatically or with permission on a case-to-case basis. Higher threat level animals, meanwhile, will only be sent through with permission." (He looked to Trey) "And yes, any undiscovered giant carnivores will be amongst that category."
Jake: "The construction crews gonna be busy"
Travis: "That Sounds workable."
Trey: "Agreed."
Akio: "Very well then. You've planned this out well; I'm impressed"
Thomas: "Thank You, Mr. Yama, Well if there are no other questions. Are we all ready?"
All(In unison): "Yeah!"
The Team arrives on their way to the holding pens near the end of the corridor as an empty opening with portal sticks on both sides.
Thomas: "Okay, here is the time portal I've been talking about!"
Thomas soon pressed a button on the remote and the portal sticks at the end of the corridor activated creating a bluish-shiny blur vortex hole. They were quite amazed by it.
Squidward: "A bluish hole?"
Dog: "So swirly!"
Charlie: "Okay, The technician has set the coordinates to the location we're heading, 66 million years in the past, Hell Creek Formation, Montana, the Maastrichtian Stage in the Late Cretaceous Period."
Double D: "Are you it's a good idea, it could mess with the space-time continuum, and it would change the world as we know it forever!"
Thomas: "For saving extinct animals from the brink, I'm willing to take the risk!"
French Narrator: "To rescue the last of the T. rex, our heroes are going back to the very end of the age of dinosaurs, as close to the meteorite impact as they dare."
At the portal site, an employee entered the time and location and the portal flared to life at the push of a button. Shortly after, the portal opened again. Thomas put the portal remote in his pocket and secured it. He turned to his team, who all gave him a thumbs-up. Thomas returned their gestures, smiled at them and they went through the gleaming portal.
. . . . .
Once the blinding light from the portal had died down, the first thing that hit the team was the humidity. Nothing could prepare the toons for the sudden change of scenery. Instead of the rolling hills and green pastures commonly associated with the modern Big Sky Country; It was a forested floodplain full of trees, vegetation, and waterways, it was more like Louisiana or Florida than Montana. And the blazing sun beat down mercilessly upon anything caught in the open.
Frenchie: "66 million years ago, Montana looked very different. This is a world before grass, where swamps dominate the landscape. Here T. rex is King. Now all Thomas, Charlie, and the toons need to do is to find one. In a place with so many potential dangers, Thomas and his team know the sooner they accomplish their mission, the better."
Thomas: "Here we are the Late Cretaceous in Montana, Home of the Tyrant Lizard King!"
Double D: "Montana, looks different compared to the Modern day, you see back then. It was a flat, forested floodplain with a relatively subtropical climate that supported a variety of plants ranging from angiosperm trees to conifers such as the bald cypress, ferns, and ginkgos. It was laid down by streams, on a coastal plain along the edge of the Western Interior Seaway with a subtropical climate. It's perfect for dinosaurs alongside crocodilians. There was no cold season and probably ample precipitation. There were flowering plants, conifers, palmettos, and ferns in the swamps, and conifers, canopy, understory plants, ash trees, live oak, and shrubs in the forests."
Thomas: "Which is why Double D, This is a great habitat for T. Rex, There's a wonderful forest over there, perfect habitat, and I think that's where we'll begin our search for T. rex. I just hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew, we've got so little time."
Charlie: "We won't, I'm sure of it. Who are you talking to?"
Thomas: "The Cameraman."
French Narrator: "They have hidden cameras attached to their clothing and accessories including Thomas' glasses, The Vehicles, drones, and film crew following their progress."
Charlie: "Right it's supposed to be a show and Mr. Holwell hired a documentary film crew to document our progress under the terms they don't intervene and pretend they're not here."
As they see the film crew with their filming equipment with two of them resembling two directors of some familiar movies. While the team finished pitching their tents and set up camp,
Our heroes took the opportunity to explore the nearby conifer forest for any trace of their quarry.
They looked around to see where they had emerged and the sight was breathtaking. They had emerged in the center of a dense forest, with large trees looming over an undergrowth of ferns and flowering plants. In the air, they could hear the calls of birds and pterosaurs and, in the undergrowth, they could hear the squeals and hisses of dinosaurs.
Lotte: "It's so beautiful exotic even."
Lisa: "Look at all this plant life."
Mallow: "Very interesting, some of them are still alive today."
Rigby: "When you signed up, was this what you were expecting?"
Mallow: "Yes, Rigby."
Charlie: "Enough being overawed, D-Bags! We have dinosaurs to find!"
In the darkness of the forest, it seemed as if every shadow and tree was a big carnivorous dinosaur. As the crew walked deeper and deeper into the forest, would they find any dinosaurs or would the dinosaurs find them? Lana Loud wondered within the foliage of the trees, scrub, and bushes could it hide a large predator like a T. Rex?
Lana Loud: "Um, Thomas, How big was the T. Rex?"
Lucy: "I would say it's a monster!"
Lola: "Hey, Lucy Don't scare Lana like that?!"
Lana Loud: "No, I don't mind how big it was?"
Thomas: "Good Question Lana, You see T. rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time, they're the largest predators ever to walk in North America measuring 40 feet long and 12 feet high and weighing between 11,000 and 15,500 pounds (5,000 and 7,000 kilograms)"
Lana Loud: "Whoa, that big and that many teeth just like in the movies?"
Lola: "I know it's not like Blarney."
Lana Loud: "You got that right."
Lincoln: "Well, the real creatures are different from what we're used to seeing. T. Rex had 50 to 60 solid thick cone-shaped teeth as big as bananas."
Gerald: "Whoa, I'll never look at it the same way again."
Patrick: "Me too."
Ash: "If it's big it shouldn't be too hard to find one."
Jake: "I mean in this forest. A T. Rex can easily hide in here and I think it's watching us right now as we speak."
Luna: "So... what are we gonna do once we do find one?"
Thomas: "To be honest, I haven't the slightest clue?"
Charlie: "Me neither, Guess we hadn't thought this whole thing through, but we'll think of a plan eventually."
French Narrator: "But T. rex are not the only creatures around. Although the T. Rex was the ruler of its domain, it did share its kingdom with other creatures both big and small.".
Lana Loud: "Guys look at the footprints!"
They came upon a series of footprints each three-toed, one foot in front of the other, and there was more than one, and some branches from some shrubs and trees that have been nibbled on.
Thomas: "This must be a trackway. Look...you can see here these leaves have been nibbled, these twigs have been snapped off. There's been vegetarian browsing here and it is...hard to see, but you can see this footprint here. Three toes. This is the classic theropod dinosaur, the same family as T-Rex. They stand on two legs, they're bipedal. It looks like there's a whole group.
Kim: "It must be a huge trackway."
Ron: "I think there must have been a lot of them."
Thomas: "Not as big as T-Rex, and vegetarian, as you can tell by the leaves. And they've gone this way. This must be the first evidence of dinosaurs."
French Narrator: "Their hunch was right."
As our heroes came upon a clearing with many bushes and ferns suddenly there was some rustling coming from the foliage, it might be something big or small.
Jake: "Shhh. Guys. That bush is rustling, Something's in there?"
Thomas: "This is what normally happens when searching for animals. You hear them first before you see them. They're scurrying away through the bushes and they're still moving. This must be our first contact encounter with a dinosaur so we take this nice and slow."
The rustling grew louder and louder, and some of the members were fearful as it might be a T. Rex until they heard a squawk coming from the bushes was a tall, ostrich-like creature, eying the group of strange creatures with curious beady eyes as they turned around to see it.
Rigby: "What is that? Is that a dinosaur?"
Mordecai: "Nah dude it looks like that ostrich from that video but with a long tail and fingered claws."
Thomas: "Actually this is a dinosaur, It's an Ornithomimus, I've seen the fossils in museums."
Lincoln: "They kinda look like the Gallimimus"
Thomas: "That's because they are relatives of a family of theropod dinosaurs called Ornithomimids, Ornithomimus means "bird mimic", and Gallimimus means "Chicken mimic" You can see why. Exactly like an ostrich, A classic Dino."
Charlie: "Plus they're runners like an ostrich."
Amanda: "What are you doing Chuck?"
Charlie: "I wanna see how close I can get."
Mordecai: "Um Chuck, Don't you remember the ostrich video?"
Charlie: "It's just a video man, that doesn't mean anything."
Rigby: "You'll never know?"
Thomas: "He's trying to say like modern-day ostriches and ratites, The Ornithomimus could deliver a powerful kick from the leg if cornered or provoked."
Rigby: "Yeah, right?"
Mordecai: "It is true you know."
Charlie had barely approached five paces when the Ornithomimus let out a piercing shriek that startled the strange mammals and toons, forcing them back while spreading its wings as a way to appear threatening to potential threats.
Thomas: "Back away Charlie, That was a warning! You alright?"
Charlie: "Okay, I am, but that was very loud!"
Lor: "Guys look at this!"
They were in for a surprise: out of the underbrush, dozens upon dozens of heads shot up in response to the dinosaur's call. Soon the entire flock had appeared from the forest. These ostrich-like dinosaurs were covered in grayish brown emu-like feathers with faint light brownish stripes on the top, the tail feathers and wing tips were black, except on their legs and underbelly which were grayish scales. The males had a small gular sac that was black-spotted that is dark blue with a red center, blackheads and necks with curly crests, and a bright blue stripe running down the side of the neck, the beak was black with the back end white, and a white ring around the base. The females were identical, but with dark gray heads and necks and a light gray stripe running down the side of the neck, and a palish rose gular sac.
Thomas: "I can't believe this, It's a flock of them! They are all looking up. He must have been the sentry. The others are looking at us now, heads popping up all over the place!"
After hearing the coast was clear and that these strangers were no threat they slowly came out of the underbrush into the clearing. They were either bending their necks down pecking on low-growing plants and bugs on the ground or pecking at the bushes and low-lying branches of the trees with their three short clawed arms to grasp.
Lori: "I literally have to get a picture of them." (As Lori took out her phone) "Smile!"
Charlie: "Get those photos, Lori! These are the first dinosaurs we have found!"
Tucker: "Just look at those beaks, The front has ridges inside, just like modern ducks and geese, and they use those to crush their food. Ornithomimus were omnivores feeding mostly on plants like fruit, leaves, and branches along with some occasional insects, crustaceans, eggs, and the meat of lizards and small mammals."
Dexter: "Not to mention, they're completely the opposite of what you'd imagine a dinosaur to be they're not covered with bare scaly skin, but like birds like ostriches, they were covered in feathers and most likely based on where T. rex fits in the dinosaur family tree, they were covered in feathers."
The gang was more than thrilled to come face to face with creatures that they had only previously known from books, fossil bones, and movies now in the flesh with their own eyes they are seeing living and breathing animals that once lived on this earth.
French Narrator: "These Ornithomimus will soon be extinct, too, unless, of course, our heroes can save one."
Thomas: "I'd love a breeding herd of Ornithomimus for the park, But I think I need a technique, Charlie, do you have a sock?"
Charlie: "Yeah, why?"
Thomas: "It's been done with ostriches. You slip a sock over their head and as soon as you cover their eyes, they calm down. The only trouble I've got is that these things can run at 30 miles per hour and there are so many in this herd, if you can get in their midst there will be a commotion, and hopefully grab hold of one of them."
Charlie gave socks to Thomas, Lynn, Sandy, SpongeBob, and Lana Loud and slowly approached them. The flock of Ornithomimus foraged along the clearing, some browsing the foliage while others were pecking the ground, unaware of the humans and toons slowly creeping towards them.
Thomas: "Wait for my call! Wait for it. Wait for it…"
Some of the Ornithomimus in the flock were starting to get very nervous. Suddenly, The group sprang into action, racing into the midst of the startled flock which took off in fright. Amidst the confusion, Charlie and Thomas had managed to wrangle a single individual while the toons cut off any possible escape routes. It took the strength of two of them to hold the struggling squawking dinosaur still enough for Charlie to attempt placing the sock over its head as the flock fled.
Charlie: "Gotcha!"
The Ornithomimus was nearly subdued and blinded when they heard a noise, loud and ominous like the rolling thunder along with rustling and cracking in the foliage as a pair of large feet were seen.
French Narrator: "But now there's something else to contend with, something much, much bigger."
Just as suddenly as they fled, the flock of Ornithomimus dashed back the way they came, stampeding straight towards them. Amidst the pandemonium, the group released their catch to rejoin the group, scurrying as fast as their long legs could carry as if they were running from something.
Eddy: "What the?"
Ed: "Wait! Come back!"
Coco: "Coco coco?"
Lor: "Why are they running for?
Bubbles: "I think Something's chasing them."
Buttercup: "Whatever it is, it's something big!"
As they were watching the fast-moving dinosaurs fleeing in panic. A great crashing in the undergrowth could be heard and the trees shook, before three gigantic shapes emerged from the foliage, thundering straight toward the group!
French Narrator: It looks like the T. Rex have found our heroes before they could find them.
The group turns to see a trio of young sub-adult Tyrannosaurus. They were dark brown with black striping and spotted patterns with striping on the tail, a white underbelly, a mottled face that it black tip at the end of the snout, and a mix of light orange and dark brown stripings, the eyes had a light orange eye ring and black markings surrounding the eyes, it's the lower portion of the legs were black striped and bronze-like yellow, about 9 feet tall and 8 meters long, it had keratin running down its nose, orbital hornlets, and brow which was light peach, gray jugular horns on the cheeks, two fingers on each arm, they had a short mane of light brown proto-feathers and on the rest of the upper body, all the way to its tail, shoulder region, and arms were thin bristle like filament feathering. Blaring bellow roars filled the air as the three Tyrannosaurus came to investigate the strange creatures in their midst, their formidable jaws towering over nine feet above them as they snarled baring conical, banana-shaped teeth.
Akko: "Are those?"
Thomas: "Yeah, it is!"
Charlie: "Nobody move…A muscle!"
Thomas: "Charlie you know that fact is false, T. Rex has eye vision like a Hawk and can see us even if we don't move! In other words, the fact from Jurassic Park isn't true!"
Lisa: "Yup, and the Scientists discovered that fact to be false!"
Charlie: "I know that! Just trying to lighten the mood!"
Eddy: "Let's make a run for it!"
The group turns and runs. Some of them were screaming with the tyrannosaurs hot on their tails as nothing gets a predator to chase you more than when they see a potential prey on the run.
Thomas: "Head for higher ground!"
Now on the run, Thomas took a glance behind, then wished he hadn't; all three of the massive theropod dinosaurs were now giving chase with open jaws! He quickened his pace. They raced deeper into the forest, weaving around the trees.
Diana: "Tell me there's a plan!"
Thomas: "I do, We do have one advantage. T. rex is so top heavy, that if they trip, the fall could kill them!"
The group ducks under a pile of fallen trees, narrowly escaping the snapping jaws of one of the voracious carnivores.
Thomas: "Get down! Get down!"
As Thomas was pulling them out of the tyrannosaurs' line of sight as they hid. The T. rex trio meanwhile, roared their frustration over their snacks slipping away as they started to leave.
French Narrator: "A bite of the group isn't worth the risk."
Muscleman: "That was close bros."
Wilt: "Yeah too close for comfort."
Gerald: "Yeah, Big time!"
Thomas: "Predators don't like confined spaces like this. And that's why the T. rex is staying back there, I'm sure."
Tucker: "In that case, I think I speak for us all when I say what we oughta do now is head back to camp."
It was something the group agreed upon as it was getting late as the heroes walked back to camp. Then shows the group at camp around the fireplace.
Bubbles: "I don't get it. The T. Rex saw us, but why is it now false that the T. Rex can't see you?"
Dexter: "Remember the T. Rex in Jurassic Park/World had a genetic flaw with their genome added with Reed Frog DNA that's why it can't see if you don't move. But we now know that the eye sockets of tyrannosaurs are positioned so that the eyes would point forward, giving them binocular vision slightly better than that of modern hawks. Although a recent study pointed out T. Rex was a diurnal daytime predator."
Bubbles gulped and whimpered in fear as she hugged her octopus plush.
Thomas: "One of us should be on the lookout, some daytime predators may sometimes hunt at night, and we don't want to find out if T. Rex is a nighttime hunter too."
The Rescue team was quite scared of what he said and a bit puzzled as they went back to their tents with Charlie on lookout duty. Sometimes learning information from movies isn't always accurate. But they had other things in mind, as they knew they would have two days left before the asteroid hits the earth so they must be quick and make most of the time as fast as possible.
French Narrator: Day One is over and there's no T. rex to take home. At least there's no sign of the meteorite, either, but it can't be far away by tomorrow."
