Miona Desyk was sitting on the small stool behind the desk in the small repair shop that she works in. Buisness was slow as it always is, since nothing interesting ever happens in her small town on Tatooine, Milipel.

It was a honestly a miracle that the small repair shop was even still open. But then again it was the only one around for a couple thousand miles.

She rested her head on her hand and glanced over the small half wall that seperated the parts section, which was the actual building, from the repair shop, simply fabric draped over poles giving some protection from the harsh rays of the twin suns.

Right now she watched as her boss, Folay, worked on his prized speeder. He was almost forty years old, his dark hair starting to thin on top of his head, and sported a patchy and unkempt beard. Unlike a lot of men in the town tho, he wasn't round, but rather bulky from working with his hands all day.

He took a step back from the speeder to admire it. But even after almost two years of repairing and upgrades, Miona couldn't help but think the thing still looked like a piece of junk, though she never took too much of an interest in anything mechanical like ships or speeders so she couldn't really have a true opinion. She'd never tell Folay what she thought of his precious, though. He has always made her feel slightly unsafe, even though in the months she'd been working for him, he'd been nothing but kind. Well, possibly not kind, but at least not mean. But she still felt like he'd be mad if she said something, so she kept to herself.

Someone pushed open two flaps of fabric that served as the door and walked in. Folay looked up, and greeted the man.

"Hello Jasin! It has been so long my friend!" Folay says, "What brings you to my store today? Needing parts? Maybe wanting to make some upgrades?" Miona rolled her eyes. There he goes trying to up-sell everything, like always. She automatically zoned out; she didn't need to listen in on any boring conversation.

"Actually," Jasin said, "I want to sell my speeder." Ok, maybe she was going to listen on this one.

"Sell it?"

"Yes."

"But why?" Folay asked. Miona was very much enjoying how flabbergasted he sounded.

"I won a bet, and i finally have enough money to hire a pilot to get me off this damned planet." Jasin said with a smug smile creeping onto his face.

"What- what? i mean, good job, but where will you be going?"

"I don't know, but somewhere with life. And green. Honestly anywhere away from here." Jasin said. "I won't even ask for much. Maybe like half price, so maybe something like 900 credits? If you'd be interested?"

Only 900 credits? Miona knew that speeders could be considerably cheep when bought used, but they're normally at least 1800 credits. Folay would be a fool to not take the offer. But then again, Folay was a fool and liked to bargain.

"700." he offered.

Miona sighed. He's definitely a bargainer, that's for sure.

"800, and I won't go lower." Jasin said firmly.

Folay considered. Take the offer. Miona silently told him. You will make a huge profit off of it, and you know it.

"Fine, you have a deal." he said and stretched his hand out to shake Jasin's.

Jasin took it and shook it enthusiastically, and didn't stop as he said, "Amazing! Do with it what you want; sell it for a higher price, scrap it for parts, it doesn't matter to me. I'll be off the plant by then." Folay pulled his hand away not so subtly. "Would you like me to bring it into the shop?"

"Sure, and i can help if you need."

The two men left the tent, leaving Miona alone in the shop while her mind reeled around the situation that just took place right in front of her. In Milipel, nothing interesting ever happened. Normally, someone selling a speeder would be enough gossip that could last a month, but now someone was leaving the planet too? What an insane turn of events.

Sadly, nothing else happened over the course of the day. One other person came in for a part to fix a moisture vaporator on a farm a little out of town, but that was pretty much it.

Soon she could see the first sun touching the horizon as it stabbed her eye through the one window in the building. That meant she had a little over an hour before her shift was over. And thank the suns, too.

But then another man entered the shop. He was wearing a cloak with the hood up, then lowered it with a certain grace she'd never seen before. There was also something very different with his presence, it for some reason just seemed... heavier. Made the air around her become thick.

"Hello sir," Folay said, interrupting her thoughts, "I've never seen you around before. What brings you to my shop?"

"I'd like to purchase a speeder." he stated. The man had an accent, but nothing like the ones she'd heard before on Tatooine, where the words were slurred and every consonant was aggressive, no. It was soft, but sophisticated. And definitely not from around here. His hair was a golden auburn and slightly unkempt looking, bangs she could assume usually were slicked back hung down on his forehead and a little over his eyes. He had a beard aswell, although it looked much better than Folay's, and it accented his sharp features well.

"Ah, well it looks like you're in luck, good sir. I just got one in today." he gestured to the speeder Jasin had brought in earlier. "Here, come have a look."

The man walked over to the speeder with a grace that astonished Miona. He bent down and inspected the speeder, then stood back up and turned to face Folay. "How much do you want for it?"

"2000 credits." He replied.

2000? No way he was being serious. She understood that he wanted to make a profit, but 2000? That was 1200 over what he paid for it. 1000 seemed more reasonable, maybe possibly 1200.

The worst part was the man actually seemed to be considering the offer. "Are you sure this is worth 2000?" he asked with skepticism.

"Oh, yes, this baby is in good condition for her age, it's surprising I'm not asking more for it." It was all a lie.

She couldn't believe he was about to rip this poor naive man off! Rage bubbled up from her core, and before she could stop it, "You dirty man, Folay! Don't you dare rip this poor man off, you bought this garbage pile of a speeder today for only 800 credits!" she blurted. She regretted it instantly when she saw the look of anger and embarrassment on his face.

"You listen here girl," he told her with a dangerous calm, "you shut up, and mind your own business." he turned to the man again. "I'm sorry about that sir. Women, am I right?"

"Excuse me?" the man's expression was hard. The presence she sensed when he walked in became noticeably heavier. Or maybe it was just the tension between the two men.

Faloy rolled his eyes. "Oh, forget about it. Back to business, how about that 2000 for this bike, hm?"

The man looked over his shoulder at her, and her stomach flipped when he made eye contact with her. "The lady over there said that you bought it today for 800 credits. Is this true?"

His stare remained hard, and although Folay was still a good inch taller than him, she could see him almost shrinking in his gaze. "Well... yes..."

"Good, I'll take it, and for no more than 1000." The man cut him off.

"That is completely unfair. You can't just come into my store and tell me what is and isn't a good price for the speeder I'm selling!" Folay protested.

"No," Miona cut in standing up from the stool and making her way around the counter towards the two men, "what I find unfair with this whole situation, sir, is that had I not said anything, this poor man would've paid full price for this." she pointed at the speeder and held Folay's stare, "You rip people off, and that's the only thing you're good at. So maybe for once could you at least have a little compassion, and stop thinking about yourself for once," she poked him hard on the sternum with her pointer, "and sell this damn speeder to this man for no more than 1000 dollars."

Both men stared at her in shock. Being beside them reminded her again how short she was compared to a lot of people; she felt weak. Folay looked from her to the man then back to her, then scrubbed a hand over his face with a groan. "Fine. 1000 credits for the speeder."
