"When do we start?"
"We can begin right now." Soliera answered as she then yelled to the sky, "Solgaleo, aid us!" Appearing from behind unexpectedly, an 11 foot tall white lion walked up to the group with heavy footsteps, surprising the group.
"Yikes! Where did that come from?!" Hau yelped. His questioned wasn't answered though when Solgaleo leapt up into the air only to stand on it somehow, glowed with orange energy surrounding it like the sun, and shot a beam of energy that hit the monument, opening an Ultra Wormhole. Letting the three onto its back, the Suune Pokemon leapt through the Ultra Wormhole. In the realm of Ultra Space, it was like traveling through regular space at warp speed, watching stars, galaxies and warp holes zoom on by as Solgaleo sprinted its way to the target. The humans would be enjoying this if they weren't screaming from how fast they were going and how much it was overly stimulating to the senses. The ride did eventually stop when their ride reached its destination in a place that resembled a city of sorts. Black crystal all around with a tower producing white light. Ultra Megalopolis. The teenagers got off of Solgaleo, shaking quite a lot since it was quite an intense ride. Two other Ultra Recon Squad members were there, standing there to observe the new visitors.
"Whoa! Alolan people appered riding on Solgaleo's back!" One of them said, looking like a prepubescent girl with red hair, contrasting her pale skin and white/blue outfit that were similar to Phyco's and Soliera's. "Dulse, what should we do?! Do you think we should investigate them?!"
"Remain calm Zossie. Humans, Necrozma has claimed Lunala's power and is now atop the Megalo Tower. The people here have all fled indoors for safety. They fear Necrozma will fly into another rage, as it did when that woman Lusamine appeared. Necrozma will reclaim its true power, now that it has stolen light from another. But it cannot control that light, so Necrozma only suffers more. We used the power of our technology to try and quiet Necrozma, while also using it to provide some small amount of light for ourselves. Both Necrozma and our people have lived with long years of a darkness that should never have been, living a life we did not wish for. Humans, will you not stop Necrozma and bring the light back to our world... and Alola? It lies ahead, up there at the tower!" He pointed up to the tower that was taller than anything else around.
"We'll do our best." Ash responded, having gotten over his Ultra induced motion sickness.
"Be careful humans. Necrozma is really strong." Zossie warned them.
"There's nothing we can do here. Our technology no longer controls it, and we have no hope of defeating it ourselves."
"That's why... if you could help it calm down... I bet it would be able to share its light with everyone again, like it used to. Please, you've got to help it!"
"Don't worry, we were here to help a friend anyway." Ash told them. They were lead to the tower, entered an elevator, and began their ascent.
"Wow, I can't believe this is happening." Hau gulped.
"I know. This is quite a lot to work out." Misty shuddered. "I mean, we're in a whole other dimension! And we're going to try and save the world! I just hope I can catch up." The redhead looked down sadly. "Gyarados was barely able to hang on. If I had some Z-Power..."
"Don't worry Misty." Ash reassured her as he placed a hand on her right shoulder. "Even if Hau and I didn't have Z-Power ourselves, we'd still be doing this."
"Yeah, no sweat!" Hau chuckled as he gave a thumbs up. Misty could feel her confidence coming back again.
"Thanks guys." The elevator soon reached as high as it was going to go, and the trainers took the time to heal their Pokemon of any damage so that they were battle ready. Running up the spiral stairs towards the top, it only took a moment before they spotted Dawn Wings Necrozma, glowing with yellow light as it was absorbing energy. But that wasn't a form they'd get to see for long as it shined brightly, prompting the humans to shield their eyes for a moment. Now they were up against something terrifying. Using an Ultra Burst, Necrozma entered its ultimate, ultra form. A colossal 24 feet tall dragon made of pure light energy. Ultra Necrozma studied them, eager to battle.
"Lie... lie... LIGHT!" The Pokemon screamed, spreading its four wings.
"What are we going to do?!" Hau was starting to panic. "The three of us could barely defeat Necrozma with Lunala's power! That thing's probably even more powerful now!"
"Just keep Necrozma distracted!" Ash told his friends. "I'll provide help but we need to fight more than straight on. Just do what you can!" Ash then ran around, trying to get out of the Prism Pokemon's sight.
"Well, if he's sure." Hau shrugged. "Go, Incineroar!"
"Go Gyarados, my steady!" Misty once again sent out her Atrocious Pokemon. "Use Aqua Tail!"
"Incineroar, let's do this!" Hau encouraged his starter whom smirked. Hopping onto the water/flying type, he ran up Gyarados's back as he went on the attack. "Malicous Moonsault!" While Ultra Necrozma fired a Dragon Pulse which Gyarados could not evade in time and was defeated in one move, Incineroar jumped off to spin around in the air surrounded by dark fire, before coming down to perform a powerful body slam against the Prism Pokemon with such force there was an explosion. Screeching from how uncomfortable that felt, one of the wings glowed metallic and swatted the Heel Pokemon off of it. It was going to further attack when it got doused in purple liquid. Turning around, it Ash had sprayed the Ultra Beast with Toxic liquid from his Mudsdale. Angered from being poisoned, Necrozma started to charge up a Photon Geyser, and fired an intense beam of light. But before it could reach them, Hau pleaded, "Incinecroar, protect them!" Getting up, the Heel Pokemon ran like a cat on all fours before leaping in between Ash and the attack. Now, Incineroar may be a dark type and thus psychic type attacks no no effect against him, but that didn't mean when the Photon Geyser pushed him into the floor after Ash and Mudsdale got out of the way, the force wasn't enough to knock him unconscious, and thus was knocked out as a result from the attack just being so powerful. The fire/dark type groaned from how much he was hurting. As he rode around on his galloping Draft Horse Pokemon, he called out,
"Thanks Hau! Misty, get Pelipper to create some rain! We'll finish this together!"
"Okay! Go Staryu, Slowbro and Pelipper, my steadies!" Sending out the rest of her Pokemon, Misty told two of her Pokemon, "Staryu, Slowbro, use Psychic to restrain Necrozma! Pelipper, Rain Dance!" Glowing with psychic power, the two surrounded the Prism Pokemon with a blue outline which prevented the Ultra Beast from successfully firing a Dragon Pulse against Ash. However, due to being part psychic type itself, all the Pokemon had to do was flex to overpower the restraint from Misty's Pokemon, and blasted them with Photon Geyser, defeated the both of them with one hit as they and she were forced out of the way with a yell. They would've even fallen off the tower if it weren't for Hau's Bewear catching them.
"Whoo, thanks Bewear." Misty sighed. Pelipper meanwhile had completed her order as clouds began to cover the sky as rain drops fell onto the whole area. Necrozma looked up at the clouds before settling on Misty, whom was then being protected by Bewear.
"Alright, time for two!" Hau panted, as he began to perform another Z-Move twice in a row. Sure, one was the safe limit, but for something like this, they had to give everything they got. As the Strong-Arm Pokemon glowed with Z-Power, Hau gave the order, "Bewear, use All-Out Pummling!" With various punches and kicks, orange fists and feet of orange energy was being bombarded against the Prism Pokemon, whom shielded itself against the attack. Sure, it wasn't that strong due to being not effective, but the rate of attack was still quite fast for it to counter attack during it. Misty even took the opportunity to return her fainted Pokemon and slip away. It was only after Z-Move ended that Necrozma decided to retaliate with a Photon Geyser, but before the attack could land, the normal/fighting type was returned by the exhausted Hau.
"Pelliper, use Hurricane!" Misty told her remaining Pokemon. Flapping her wings, the Water Bird Pokemon started to create a massive and fearsome hurricane which was able to enclose around the Ultra Beast. Having lost visual with the teens while taking some damage from the hurricane and toxins in its body, the Pokemon screeched as it tried firing a Photon Geyser out through the gale force winds, but it couldn't be sure despite seeing the glow of an explosion. What it didn't expect however was Hau's Pokemon to appear with Pikachu and Staryu riding on Noivern, delivering a triple attack of Thunderbolt, Ice Beam and Dragon Pulse. With three attacks landing against its back, two of which were super effective, the Prism Pokemon crashed down onto the floor it hovered on, trying to stay strong despite the accumulated damage by attacks and the poison. By the time the Hurricane though, a shadow still loomed over it, along with angelic singing. It looked towards Ash, whom was standing next to Primarina with her hair down and her arms up. Feeling a drop, Necrozma looked up to see a giant ball of water. With a final note, the orb burst, pouring a tremendous amount of water onto the weakened Ultra Beast. Any water that might've washed our heroes away was displaced thanks to Hau's Staryu using Psychic to push all the water away. Once the Z-Move was completed, Ultra Necrozma tried to stand back up, but the damage was now too great as the Ultra Beast collapsed. It started to glow bright, forcing the humans and Pokemon to look away before it was okay to look again, and saw that Nebby was itself again as Lunala.
Light spread through the floor as balls of light floated through the air. Lillie back on Poni Island held out her hand to a floating sphere of light, which felt warm to the touch. The night sky above her started to glow brightly as it went from dark blue to white as light shined across all of Alola.
"We... we did it?" Hau asked, trying to process what happened.
"We did do it." Misty nodded. Slowly smiles started to spread on their faces until the three jumped for joy and hugged each other all at the same time. "We did it! We did it! We did it!"
"We saved Nebby!" Ash cheered.
"We saved the world!" Hau added with laughter. Even their Pokemon got in on the fun as Primarina, Pikachu, Pelliper and Noivern got in on the hug, while Staryu rolling happily around the neighing Mudsdale. The defeated Incineroar woke up from his knock out, and upon seeing his owner and friends happy, smirked from the implication they won. And what happened to Necrozma? It vanished into another world. Dulse and Zossie walked up to the triumphant teenagers, along with a Poipole. Coughing, Dulse got the attention of the humans.
"I don't know how long it will take, but someday in the distant future, perhaps we will also be able to bathe in light again in our world. We are thankful to you humans. To you, your Pokemon and the light of the Z-Crystals. The Necrozma you managed to quiet, it shown with such blinding light, as it used to, only to lose that light all over again. It seems to have fled to Alola now. And your Lunala also returned home as soon as it was freed."
"That's great! I can't wait to see Lillie's face when we come back." Misty giggled.
"Same here." Both the boys replied, tired from such an intense fight. The Poipole with the Ultra Recon Squad members flew around the humans, making noises as it checked them out.
"Oh? What's Poipole acting up now for?" Zossie inquired. "Hey Dulse, do you think it's curious about the humans?"
"Then let me gift this Poipole to you three. It is a sign of our gratitude, and also to grant the wish of this Poilpole seems to hold. Will you take it with you?"
"Yeah! A shared Ultra Beast pet sounds awesome!"
"Yeah, we'd be happy to." Ash chuckled.
"It is certainly cute." Misty complimented the Ultra Beast. Poipole cheered as it floated through the air around them.
"We'll let you ride on Solgaleo back to your world." Zossie offered, to which they accepted. Back in Alola, Lillie waited patiently for her friends while Lusamine and the Ultra Recon Squad stood around along with Guzma sitting on a rock. Soon, an Ultra Wormhole opened, and the humans came back on Solgaleo's back, once more shook up by the extreme ride like before.
"Whoo, we did it." Ash said woozily, trying to get back his mental balance.
"Most impressive you three!" Captain Phyco laughed.
"Thank you very much, trial-goers." Soliera nodded. "While you faced Necrozma in our Ultra Megalopolis, there are some things we found out about the auras that fill Alola... Before our ancestors were forced to contain it, Necrozma emitted powerful light... That light is what you call auras!"
"That light must have passed through the Ultra Wormholes and rained down throughout Alola... Indeed, this must be how the trial sites got their unique properties."
"Yes... Both the Z-Power for the Z-Moves and the auras of the Totem Pokémon are powers gifted to you by Necrozma.
"A Trainer as gifted as yourself may be able to return the light to Necrozma, without sending it into another rage."
"As thanks for your help, we will continue to share our Solgaleo with you freely." Soliera offered. "You should be able to meet many amazing Pokémon by using Ultra Warp Ride to explore different worlds!"
"It would not be a bad idea to continue research on Alola, with all of its Z-Power! There's much for us to learn here, no doubt." Turning to her captain, Soliera said,
"I...would like to travel Alola as a trainer, along with my Pokemon partners."
"Let's discuss that later. In the meantime, farewell." Once again giving their incorrect Alola hand sign, the Ultra Recon Squad left.
"Lillie." Lusamine called for her daughter's attention. "It seems you were right. Right to feel hurt by the suffering of Pokemon. Right to take Cosmog away." However, Lillie shook her head.
"No, I just... the one who really did everything was my friends, not me."
"Oh, don't worry Lillie." Misty tried to assure her blonde friend. "Even if you couldn't stand by us all the time, you ultimately saved Alola like we did, thanks to your contributions." Lillie smiled.
"Hmph, with its light stolen from it, Cosmog is-no, Lunala is weak. We will take it back to Paradise to care for it. Lillie, you will help as well." The girl smiled as she nodded.
"Of course I will! Oh... wait. Do you guys..."
"Don't worry. Help your mother. We've still got an island challenge to get through ourselves." Ash told her.
"Thank you. For everything." Lillie expressed as the four friends hugged. Guzma stared at them, an annoyed scowl on his face. That is until he smirked.
"Maybe when you bring out the best in others, it helps you find the best in yourself too, huh?" He then walked off.
"Um... Ash?"
"Yes?"
"All the way back to the beginning, I know I couldn't do anything to really help, but I was always by your side. You, your Pokemon, your friends. And I finally got the chance to talk to my mother. About a lot of things, really. And I think I understand a little better now. Ash, you and your friends saved Necrozma and the people of that world... and all of us too. You gave us all the chance to smile again. I'm going back to Paradise to help Nebby recover, but... you do your best on the island challenge." Ash smiled.
"Thank you." Nodding, Lillie turned and was about to leave, only to stop and run back to kiss him on the lips while wrapping her arms around his neck. Hau's mouth and eyes opened wide while Misty held back a squeal from how cute they looked. Ash meanwhile was even more shocked than Hau. He blushed from the interaction, and just as he was about to return it, she backed away with a wink and a wave, before running off to her mother.
"Ooo, missed it by that much lover-boy." Misty giggled.
"Man, you're so lucky." Hau chuckled. Ash didn't say anything however. But a smile did grow on his face.
A/N: To the guest reviewer who said I didn't need to add Goh to the story, I was meaning on whether I should add Goh to my next story. I know he wouldn't fit in with this story now considering how mid-late game it is by now. Looking back at the last A/N in the previous chapter, would a grown up Goh with the description I said at the bottom be good? I may be asking you specifically, guest reviewer, but I am also asking the rest of you on if I should have Goh in the party or have it a three person group? With that said, how did I do with the past two chapters with Necrozma? Despite my frequent chapter updates, this was a bit hard to do since free-for-all battle royal style battles are much more complicated. Let me know in the reviews down below and if you have any ideas you'd like to share for my next story. I may not always answer or like an idea but don't let that stop you from reviewing or PMing me. This is probably the most original story I'm coming up for a Pokemon story so I'm going to need all the creative help I can get. Don't be afraid to voice your thoughts since any idea could help. Thank you. I'm still a long way ago from finishing this story though so there's plenty of time so don't worry about rushing things.
