More of the first Thor movie. I'm sure you have a guess as to who dear Dalla's soldier is by the references alone. Yes, she also has telepathy powers like Loki. She and Thor had a bond as children, but it disappeared as they grew, but they'll get some of that back as the story goes on.

Difference in this chapter: Loki and Dalla are teaming up.

Thor walked to the banquet hall of the palace as servants were cleaning up. Angry, he flipped the long table, dumping its contents onto the floor. Loki and Dalla sat on either side of him, despite the rage pouring off of him.

"It's unwise to be in my company right now, brother and sister," he said to his siblings. "Today was to be my day of triumph!"

Loki said, "It'll come, in time."

"What's this?" asked Volstagg as he, Hogan, Fandral, and Sif entered the room.

Loki ignored them and continued saying, "If it's any consolation, we think you're right. About the Frost Giants, about Laufey, about everything."

Dalla went on, "If they were able to slip past Asgard's defenses once, who's to say they won't try again? Next time with an army."

"Exactly!" replied Thor.

"There's nothing you can do without defying Father," said Dalla, placing a hand on Thor's forearm.

It was then that Thor looked between Dalla and Loki. Both of them looked panicked.

Loki said, "No! No, no, no, no! I know that look!"

"You can't be serious!" Dalla said.

"It's the only way to ensure the safety of our borders!" Thor proclaimed as he stood up.

Loki replied, "Thor, it's madness!"

"Madness?" Volstagg asked. "What sort of madness?"

Thor announced, "We are going to Jotunheim."

Loki swallowed hard. Dalla's leg anxiously shook. This was not what they had expected to happen when they went to talk to Thor.

"This isn't like a journey to Earth," said Fandral, "where you summon a little lightning and the morals worship you as a god. This is Jotunheim."

"My father fought his way into Jotunheim," Thor argued, causing Loki to rub his forehead and Dalla to run her hand through her hair, "defeated their armies, and took their Casket. We will just be looking for answers."

"It is forbidden!" countered Sif.

Thor laughed. "My friends, have you forgotten all that we have done together? Fandral, Hogun, who led you into the most glorious of battles?"

Hogun replied, "You did."

Thor turned. "And, Volstagg, who introduced you to delicacies so succulent you thought you'd died and gone to Valhalla?"

With a chuckle, Volstagg answered, "You did."

"And who proved wrong all who scoffed at the idea that a young maiden could be one of the fiercest warriors this realm has ever known?" Thor turned to Sif.

She said, "Dalla and I did!"

"True, but I supported you both, Sif." He faced all of them. "My friends, we are going to Jotunheim."

As one, they all set forth to the Bifrost. They made their way quickly via their horses. They stopped and dismounted just short of Heimdall. They walked forward, though Loki quickly took the lead.

Loki said, "Leave this to me. Gatekeeper, we seek…"

Heimdall said, "You're not dressed warmly enough."

"I'm sorry?"

"You think you can deceive me."

"You must be mistaken…"

The others arrived with Thor saying, "Enough! Heimdall, may we pass?"

"Never has an enemy escaped my watch until this day," Heimdall answered. "I want to know how it happened."

"And tell no one where we have gone until we return. Understand?"

Everyone but Dalla walked past Loki as Volstagg said, "What's the matter, silver tongue turned to lead?"

Dalla glared at the back of Volstagg's head as she stepped up to Loki's side, who simply put a hand on her shoulder to keep her from full-on attacking. Only Loki was able to keep Dalla in check since her return from Midgard. Little things set off her temper now, and usually, a small bit of mayhem from her was something Loki enjoyed, but it shouldn't be now. She wanted to go up to Volstagg and rip him apart for insulting her brother, who said, Now is not the time, sister. Instead, she singed his beard just enough for him to know she didn't like the comment.

"Come on, Dalla!" he yelled back. "I just grew back the hair you burnt off last time! I'm lopsided again!"

"I thought I'd attempt to make an improvement," she said, as Loki lowered his arm, "but it seems no matter how I attempt to help, the bridge may always buckle under your weight."

He scoffed, turning back to the Bifrost. Loki and Dalla looked at each. Loki shakes his head, saying, While I appreciate you sticking up for me, sister, we do have more pressing matters.

She glanced at the group. Are you sure, brother?

Yes, Dalla. He puts his arm around her and they walk back to everyone, looking like he is keeping her calm. Think of what will come of this, not on idiots who think they joke.

Loki, he made fun of you, she stood ready. He thought it a joke, but you and I know different. I get the whispers of fear, you get bullied. It's why we are so close. We are outcasts through no fault of our own, and everyone points out as if it's a joke or as a reprimand. What will tip you over the edge, brother? Because I fell the day Odin and Thor dismissed my pain.

I have everything set in motion, Loki said. We will be fine. After today, everything will be better.

She took his hand, a sign of solidarity, though only Heimdall could see it. I know it will. I trust you, brother. You are the one person who has never betrayed me. I will always stand with you.

Heimdall opened the Bifrost before he cautioned, "Be warned. I will honor my sworn oath to protect this Realm as its Gatekeeper. If your return threatens the safety of Asgard, Bifrost will remain closed to you. You'll be left to die in the cold wastes of Jotunheim."

Volstagg asked, "Couldn't you just leave the bridge open for us?"

"To keep this bridge open would unleash the full power of the Bifrost and destroy Jotunheim with you upon it."

"I have no plan to die today," Thor said.

Heimdall replied, "None do."

With that, they entered the Bifrost and exited on a bleak, frozen land. The cold bit through her, pain traveling along her skin. Loki conjured up a thick cape for her that matched her red, silver, and black armor. He wrapped it around her and held her close to help warm her more.

"We shouldn't be here," said Hogan.

"I-I a-agree-ee," stuttered Dalla.

"Let's move," Thor ordered.

He didn't acknowledge you're discomfort! Loki growled

Now it's me holding you back, Dalla said, even her telepathic voice shivering.

Loki held her closer. The others at least looked at you after you spoke! He is your twin!

Yes, but because I do not look or act like him, but more like you, he pushed me away. Dalla looked at Loki. Remember as children, my hair was blond like his?

Loki gave a slight nod. Now it is as dark as mine, but it is due to being the Goddess of Fire, not a lack of DNA.

I know that, and so do you, but it started when we were young, after that snake prank. She smiled at him.

It was a brilliant idea you had, he chuckled, for your first prank.

Loki, she gripped him tighter after a slight wind passed over them, Loki's face colored with worry, I do not think I can stay here much longer. The very air hurts.

You are the Goddess of Fire, he pointed out. Ice is your opposite. Just as you can hurt it, it can hurt you.

You will make a wise king, she said. And I plan on living someplace warm on Midgard where I can be close to my soldier in spirit. Hel, I'd put up with this type of weather just for that.

You are. Loki smiled at her, his eyes sad. I should have brought a real cloak and I did not.

You gave me this one. She pulled it tight around her. It is very warm, just like your heart. I know the real Loki. I swear, we should be the twins, not Thor and I. It makes more sense and you know it. You are my brother, best friend, and other half. I trust no one else. Now, how much longer?

We are getting close, sister. Loki moved away from her for appearance's sake. Just until we get ready to leave.

I know. She kept one hand on Eldr while the other kept the cloak tight. Now, let's get this over with.

"Where are they?" Sif asked.

Thor replied, "Hiding. As cowards always do."

Dalla and Loki felt hesitant in going. However, they dared not stay behind. Dalla had to get out of the wind. That alone kept them going with Thor and his friends. Once in the kind of castle/cave, the wind was no longer biting, but the cold was worse. Dalla tripped over her own feet and Loki helped her stand upright. This was becoming more dangerous for her.

He looked down. You shouldn't be here. I should have talked you out of coming.

She would have hit him if she wasn't busy holding the cloak close. It wouldn't have worked. But each step is worse and I am growing weaker. I think… I'm…

Do not! Loki brought her closer to him, worry and fear in his grip. You will return home! Walk out and call Heimdall now!

She looked up at him. I will not leave you to deal with the oaf. I will fight the cold for you, brother, and return home. A expect a warm drink once we return home, no bugs.

After this, I wouldn't dare, Loki said. I cannot lose you. As you said, you are my best friend, sister, and other half.

"You have come a long way to die, Asgardians," came the raspy voice of Laufey.

Loki and Dalla glanced at their brother as he said, "I am Thor Odinson."

"We know who you are."

"How did your people get on Asgard?"

Laufey looked at them, his red eyes seeming to pierce all of them. When they landed on Dalla and Loki, his cheek twitched. She shivered and fought to stay standing, but it was easy to tell she could still hold her own in a fight. She leaned into Loki and said, He is happy I'm here and dying, despite everything.

Then he will be sorely disappointed when we leave, Loki said. Stay with me, no matter what happens.

Smiled internally. The cold prince and heated princess, always a team.

Laufey's gaze returned to Thor as he said, "The house of Odin is full of traitors…"

Thor yelled, "Do not dishonor my father's name with your lies!"

"Your father is a murderer and a thief! And why have you come, to talk of peace? You long for battle, you crave it! You're nothing more than a boy trying to prove himself a man!"

"Be warned, this boy grows tired of your mockery!"

Frost Giants began filing out of the shadows and crevices around the group. Loki and Dalla walk up to Thor.

Loki said, "Thor, stop and think. Look around you, we're outnumbered…"

"Know your place, brother!" growled Thor.

"Th-Thor, p-p-please," Dalla begged, gaining a glance from her twin. "N-not only a-are we o-out numbered, b-b-but I… I am…"

Laufey drew Thor's confused attention back to him by saying, "You know not what your actions would unleash… I do. Go now, while I still allow it."

Dalla restrained Thor weakly with Loki, who said, "We will accept your most gracious offer. Come on, brother…"

They turned to leave when a Jotun said, "Run back home, little princess."

Dalla and Loki said under their breaths together, "Damn…"

Thor chuckled before smashing the giant with his hammer before he said, "Next?" A fight ensued, causing Thor to say, "At least make it a challenge for me!" A Jotun brute came towards him. "That's more like it."

They all fought their way out, Dalla always at Loki's back. At one point, a giant rushed them and they backed up to the edge of a crevice. When it lunged at them, the giant went through them. Loki made the illusion disappear, keeping Dalla from fighting as much as possible. With Eldr now out, her cape was open and the cold was getting to her easier. As Loki dealt with the enemy with his daggers, Dalla sliced through them easily, as if they were nothing but air.

When a frost giant grabbed Volstagg, he warned against letting them touch their skin. Not that Dalla intended on it happening, knowing it would be much worse for her than the others.

However, she saw one grab Loki and his skin turn blue, matching the giants. She blocked the view from the others as he made a quick kill. They watched the skin turn back to normal, both sharing a shocked look. Then, she started to fall and, on instinct, Loki caught her. Another confused look as nothing happened when their skins touched. With a nod of understanding, Dalla stood up on shaking legs to continue fighting beside her brother.

A yell could be heard. Dalla and Loki saw a giant stab Fandral with some ice. Loki threw a dagger at the giant, killing him. Volstagg and Hogun went to him, holding him up for an escape as Sif called out to Thor.

"We must go!" Loki and Dalla yelled in unison.

"Then go!" Thor ordered, enjoying the battle.

The rest of them ran from the cave as Volstagg yelled at them to do the obvious, Loki partially carrying his sister. Dalla tried not to burden him, but it was becoming harder and harder to move, careful to sheath Eldr. Loki and Dalla called out to Thor one last time to have him join them but to no avail. A roar sounded across the field, spurring the group on. Fandral watched the Frost Beast chasing him and his comrades.

With a loud crack of lightning, the ground began to crack. Loki picked up Dalla, knowing that the now uneven and crumbling ground would be hard on her. They came to the edge of a cliff.

"Heimdall, open the bridge!" Loki called out.

But nothing happened. Everyone felt a sense of panic only to be followed by doom as the Frost Beast climbed the cliff to devour them. Then, Thor, holding onto Mjollnir, shot into its mouth, killing it instantly. It fell into the frozen abyss as Thor landed in front of the group, who were happy to see him until they turned to see an army of Jotun standing there, waiting.

Just as they were about to begin their attack, the Bifrost appeared and Odin landed astride his gleaming horse.

"Father," Thor yelled, "we'll finish them together!"

"Silence!" Odin ordered.

Laufey went up to Odin and said, "Allfather. You look weary.

Odin looked at the king of the Frost Giants. "Laufey. End this now!"

"Your boy sought this out."

"You're right. But these were the actions of a boy, treat them as such. We can end this together, here, now, without any more bloodshed."

"We are beyond diplomacy now, Allfather. You'll get what he came for: war and death."

"So be it!"

Just as Laufey was about to attack, the Bifrost opened and everyone was pulled into it, leaving the Frost Giants behind.
