The third part of the first Thor movie. Yes, I'm going through everything to set up what comes after because every movie after Thor will have major changes.

Difference in this chapter: Loki and Dalla set their plan in motion.

Thor was angry and didn't notice anything beyond the rage coursing through him as he yelled, "Why did you bring us back?"

"Do you realize what you've done?" Odin growled back. "What you've started?"

"I was protecting my home!"

"Dalla could have died because of your arrogance!" This statement shocked Dalla, but what came next made it feel like it was only added to make a point and not because Odin actually cared for her wellbeing. "You cannot even defend your friends! How can you hope to protect the kingdom?" He waved to Hogun and Volstagg, who still held on to Fandral. "Get him to the healing room! Now!"

As this was happening, Dalla noticed the warmth of Asgard and motioned for Loki to put her down. I'm already thawing, brother. I am already stronger, but stay close just in case.

Loki set her feet down. You should be going to the healers with Fandral, not here listening to this.

She shook her head as Sif and the Warriors Three left. I will stay here.

I will admit, your color is already better, sister. Loki removed the cloak from her shoulders.

"There won't be a kingdom to protect if you don't act!" Thor continued. "The Jotun must learn to fear me just as they once feared you!"

Loki looked uncomfortable. Dalla took his hand, just as she had thousands of times in the past. It made them both think back to when the Frost Giant touched Loki. Him catching her and her holding his hand, it was natural for them, yet if their suspicions were correct, they should never have been able to be in the same realm, let alone in a room or touching.

Odin went on to scold Thor. "That's pride and vanity talking, not leadership! You have forgotten everything I've taught you! What of a warrior's patience?"

"While you wait and be patient," Thor retorted, "the nine realms laugh at us! The old ways are done! You'd stand giving speeches while Asgard falls!"

"You are a vain, greedy, cruel boy!"

"And you're an old man and a fool!"

Odin looks saddened by Thor's words. "Yes… I was a fool… to think you were ready."

Loki stepped forward with Dalla as they said imploringly, "Father…"

He points to them, and yelled, "Fie!" Both stepped back, wary of what he would do in such a state. Odin then turned back to Thor. "Thor Odinson… you have betrayed the express command of your king, you've opened these peaceful realms and innocent lives to the horror and desolation of war. You are unworthy of these realms," Thor's armor began to break apart as lighting filled the domed room and the Bifrost opened, "you're unworthy of your title, and you're unworthy… of the loved ones you betrayed! I now take from you your power!" Mjollnir flew to Odin's hand. "In the name of my father and his father before, I, Odin Allfather, cast you out!"

Thor flew backward as lightning. Dalla and Loki watched in shock. They left the room. Dalla looked back to see Odin whispering to the hammer and throwing it after her twin. They went to a sitting room where the Warrior's Three and Sif gathered, waiting for Fandral to be healed. He returned about an hour later and sat to rest. Dalla leaned against the wall, biting her nail while the others sat or stood in a contemplating silence. She and Loki often glanced at one another but said nothing.

"We should have never let him go," Volstagg said after a moment, breaking everyone out of their own thoughts.

"There was no stopping him," said Sif.

Fandral responded, "Well, at least he's only banished, not dead. Which is what we would all be if that guard hadn't told Odin where we'd gone."

Hogun placed a salve on Volstagg's frost-bitten arm. Volstagg hissed in pain. Loki looked at his hand. Dalla went to him and place her hand on his shoulder. The thoughts in their heads were worry and confusion, a need to seek answers.

"How did the guard even know?" Volstagg asked.

Loki looked at him and said, "I told him."

Dalla added, "And I was with him, though I had thought to do the same."

Everyone looked at the two of them in surprise, causing Fandral to say, "What?"

"I told him to go to Odin after we left," answered Loki, making a quick glance at his sister. "He should be flogged for taking so long."

Dalla said, shivering at the remembered pain, "We should have never reached Jotunheim."

"You told the guard?" Volstagg inquired in anger, as if the question hadn't already been answered.

"I saved our lives," Loki defended himself. "And Thor's."

Dalla said, coming up next to him in solidarity, "We had no idea that Father would banish him for what he did."

Sif stood up, going before the prince and princess, and said, "Loki… Dalla… You both must go to the Allfather and convince him to change his mind."

"If we do, then what?" Loki asked.

"We love Thor more than any of you, but you know what he is," Dalla replied.

"He's arrogant. He's reckless. He's dangerous."

"You saw how he was today. Is that what Asgard needs from its king?"

Both stormed from the room, leaving the other four in shock. Dalla and Loki went to the garden, to their secret spot. She sat on a stone bench and leaned against a tree.

"You know they will talk about us," she said.

"Everything we said was the truth," he countered.

"I will never deny that, brother. But you heard Laufey. He practically accused us."

"Was it a lie?"

"I'm saying that we should have exercised more caution in our words. But as always, our emotions drove us. I was angry that she even dared ask us to change Father's mind."

"And I was upset that the guard took so long, causing you to…"

She went to him and hugged him. "Father got there in time. I am safe and my strength returned."

He looked at his hand. "What happened there? When he touched my skin?"

She took his hand. "I know of only one place to look for answers."

They went to the Weapons Vault and to the Casket of Ancient Winters. Dalla was just as nervous as Loki and it wasn't even her heritage in question. He took hold and picked it up as she watched him turn blue and his eyes red.

"Stop!" Odin called out.

"Am I cursed?" Loki asked, looking at Dalla to remain quiet, who understood.

"No."

"What am I?"

"You're my son."

Both turned to look at him, not realizing their arms touched. "What more than that?" They began walking towards Odin. "The Casket wasn't the only thing you took from Jotunheim that day, was it?"

"No. In the aftermath of the battle I went into the temple and I found a baby. Small for a Giant's offspring, abandoned, suffering, left to die. Laufey's son."

Dalla asked in a shocked whisper as they stopped at the bottom of the steps, "Laufey's son?"

"Yes."

"Why? You were knee-deep in Jotun blood. Why would you take me?" Loki asked.

"You were an innocent child."

"No. You took me for a purpose. What was it?" Odin stared at the two of them, silently. "Tell me!"

"I thought we could unite our kingdoms one day. Bring about an alliance through marriage with Dalla, bring about permanent peace… through you.

"What?" Dalla and Loki asked in a whisper together.

"But those plans no longer matter."

Loki inquired, his anger growing, "So I am no more than another stolen relic, locked up here until you might have use of me?"

"And I nothing more than his guard?" Dalla asked, her own temper rising.

"Why do you two twist my words?"

Loki said, "You could have told me what I was from the beginning! Why didn't you?"

"You're my son… I wanted only to protect you from the truth…"

"What, because I-I-I am the monster parents tell their children about at night?"

"No! No!" Odin began to feel unwell.

Dalla said, "You know, it all makes sense now, why you favored Thor all these years!"

Loki added, "Because no matter how much you claim to love me, you could never have a Frost Giant sitting on the throne of Asgard!"

"Or the daughter you would force to marry him!"

Odin collapsed and they both walked up slowly, shocked at what they just witnessed. They touched him, not sure of what to do for a moment.

"Guards! Guards, please help!" Loki called out as Dalla began to cry.

Two guards came in to take Odin to the healers.
