CHAPTER #16
It was later the same day when Lu He saw a girl talking to Chyou. "I heard that handsome masked boy came to our class."
"There's two of them, which one?" Ask their shorter friend.
"It was Lu He or Mask Man as he's called on social media," Chyou explained.
"Who cares which one, they are so hot. I could just fall into their eyes."
Chyou groaned. "It's because of girls like you that they have inflated egos!"
"Oh come on, I know for a fact that you're crushing on one of them."
"Shut up!" She tried to hush them.
Lu He smirked and chose that moment to come into the hall where they were all standing. The bolder of the two friends from Chyou's group, came up to him and handed Lu He a box.
"For… for you."
He didn't accept it and walked up to Chyou, "do you want to take it?"
Chyou answered, "that's none of my business."
So Lu He turned back to the girl and said, "I only accept gifts from people I like." After that he walked away, but he saw Chyou trying to hide her smile.
It was the last class of the day and it was Lu He's least favourite subject. The only thing that kept Politics class interesting, was that Qihe, Chyou and Fai were in it with him. However Qihe didn't sit beside Lu He, he was sitting with a few guys from his gang. Fai was sitting in front of Lu He, with a guy from the basketball team. Chyou had come in, dropped her text book on the desk behind Lu He and then ran out. She returned just before the teacher arrived. The teacher didn't even look at the students, as she took attendance. Which made the twins exchange a glance, because they could pretend to be each other, if the need arose. Lu He knew his brother probably would skip this class the most, just because of it being the last of the day. He got a text from him.
'So both the girl you like and the guy that's after you, are in the same class… interesting!'
'Does that mean I won't have to cover for you in the future, because you'll actually show up for classes?'
Qihe sent a row of laughing emojis. He might come to this class a few times, but only time would tell. Just because he'd made peace with his twin, didn't mean he planned on stopping being King of the delinquents for their district. These days people who wanted to prove their abilities came in search of Mafia Boy, to fight him. He was still angry with his father too and enjoyed the outlet these fighters provided for him.
To every student's disgust, the teacher put them into groups and gave them an assignment. The twins were in the same group, with Fai and Chyou, rounding out their foursome. Lu He introduced her to Qihe, who ignored the girl there after.
Fai leaned over and asked in Qihe's ear, "do you not like Chyou?"
"Don't know her and don't care."
"Want to play basketball after school?"
Qihe raised an eyebrow at the guy beside him. "I think you're flirting with the wrong twin."
Almost choking on his water, Fai met his stare. "You saw?"
"You're lucky you didn't hurt him."
Lu He snapped at them, "will you two stop whispering and focus on the assignment please!"
Chyou smirked, when Qihe raised an eyebrow in response to his brother's reprimand.
"Sorry Lu He, what did you say?" Fai immediately apologized.
Qihe saw that his exchange with Fai, had made Lu He jealous. So many amusing things were happening today. "Are you our acting leader? Maybe Chyou would prefer to be that."
"No, I don't mind if Lu He does it. I'll take notes instead."
They began to answer the questions their group had been given. Twice Qihe challenged Lu He's input, just to see if Chyou or Fai would be the one taking his brother's side. Lu He knew exactly what his twin was doing and why, but wasn't dissatisfied with the results.
"I see your point Qihe, but I think Lu He's answer fits better in this circumstance," Chyou gave her opinion first.
"Agreed and it's easier to add bullshit to his answer to satisfy the teacher," Fai added. "Maybe we can use part of your answer in the next question."
"Do what you want." Qihe smirked behind his mask, this was so fun messing with them all. He put his arm around Fai's shoulders, in a friendly manner.
Fai blushed under Qihe's flirtatious stare. "Um… right… n-next question."
"Two more and we're done," Chyou announced completely oblivious.
Lu He met the devilish eyes of his twin, returning the stare with an annoyed one of his own. He couldn't stop Qihe's teasing, without revealing who he'd pick, to the two in the radar crosshairs. Instead he chose to leave, claiming to need a washroom break. The teacher allowed him to leave, after the questions had been completed. When he returned he saw Qihe had switched his attention to a girl in the group beside them.
"Who's presenting for our group?" Lu He asked.
"I'll do it," Fai offered.
"Okay. Chyou can I read it over?" Lu He moved nearer, his breath close enough to tickle her neck.
She visibly shivered and then put the paper right in his face. "Here you go."
"Thanks, but I'm not blind."
Fai laughed. "She practically fed it to you!"
Qihe turned back to his group. "Too bad he didn't choke on it, so one of you could give him mouth to mouth."
Both Fai and Chyou blushed. Before Lu He had a chance to put in a word, the teacher called on the students to read their answers. When Fai went up to give his group's opinions, Lu He heard one of Qihe's gang members ask why he was being so savage towards his brother.
"Because only I can." Was the loud whispered reply.
Chyou said to Lu He, "ignore your brother. I'm sorry I pushed the paper in your face."
Lu He put his hand on her arm, "thanks for saying that. Even I'm not immune to being bullied by him." Immediately afterwards, he sat back and gave his attention to Fai.
Boldly she gave a challenging look to Qihe, who just raised an eyebrow as usual and then went back to ignoring them all. They remained in their groups until the end of class. Qihe was the first out of the door, but was detained by girls and his gang outside the classroom.
Chyou went to talk to one of Qihe's gang members still in the room. "Do you know what constellation for seven cranes is?"
Lu He walked by after using the exit of the far door to leave the classroom. But he back tracked and looked into the room and heard the guy answer, "scorpio right?"
She smiled at him and tried to gain more information. "Scorpio's favourite type of girl is…?"
Lu He came into the room and hit her hand, so she dropped her cell phone, but he caught it. Leaning close to her ear, he replied, "just ask me." Then used the phone to bonk her on the head.
Qihe watched the exchange, "Lu He hurry up, we're playing two on two with Fai and his friend!"
Returning the phone by putting it in her pocket, Lu He sauntered away, towards where his brother and the guys waited.
