Chapter 20: Trap, Avoided.

A day has already passed after Aki and Aiz's encounter to the mysterious adventurer at the safety point. Still shocked by his incredible fighting capabilities and his absurdly strong magic. Aki was spacing out. A thing that no one ever saw even before. But after hearing their story, Finn and the others except for Bete began to understand how strong this individual is.

Aiz explained that while not being on par in terms of strength and speed with a level 5 to 6 adventurers, he covers it with his extremely refined swordsmanship and dodging skills. She also explained how powerful his magic is. A thing that shocked both Lefiya and Riveria.

But after their report, Finn began to state their next mission where they will investigate the Daedalus street along with Filvis from Dionysus Familia in two different groups.

They decided to separate the groups by gender. After explaining everything to them, Finn assigned where the two groups will start their investigations.

The girls group will investigate the whole street while the boys will investigate the sewers.

And after investigating for almost a whole day, Finn's group found something thanks to Bete's ability to point out scents. He stated that he could smell countless numbers of Violas in a certain direction and when they followed it. A huge door made of Orihalcum presented itself to them.

Finn ordered Raul to notify the others and in less than an hour, they've arrived at their location and was ready to open the door but a person suddenly appeared in front of them to stop them from entering.

Normal POV.

As the giant doors open by itself, cold aor starts to blow from the inside and the chill was enough to sent shivers to the bones of the top class adventurers including the usual boastful Bete can't do anything but keep quiet.

They can feel death in the air but it's their duty to put an end to the plans of Evilus once and for all so Finn ordered everyone aside from Riveria and Loki to go inside but before they could step forward. A mysterious man appeared in front of them.

The man has an average height but that's all they can tell. Because of his long black robe and hood, they can't tell who it is that's why all of them took their stance and was ready to kill him on the spot except for Aiz and Aki but they've stopped when the man spoke.

"Don't go inside, it's a trap. Especially you Braver, there is a trap specifically laid there for you. And you will die. And that goes for everyone as well." This surprised everyone even Loki. Because she can sense that the mysterious man wasn't lying.

Bete was about to shout at him until he noticed something, he then smiled to himself before stepping back which seems weird for everyone. He then asked Aiz and Aki if this is the man that took out members of Evilus at the 18th floor.

They were taken a back by these when the two girls nodded at him. Who would expect that Bete was actually paying attention to their conversation about another person.

"You saw that? I was planning to do those in secret that's why I chose a time where everyone was already sleeping and where no one should be roaming around. Anyway, I'm not your enemy. I'm just here to warn you not to enter this as long as possible. But if you still want to after all the warnings I gave you I must accompany you whether you like it or not."

Finn was starting to doubt himself, because even though a unknown person that he never met even once before was standing in front of him. He can't help but trust him for no particular reason. His thumb also stopped aching the moment this person tried to stop them which gave him a signal that they are safe.

Slowly, the goddess of mischief slowly aproached her first child when she noticed that he's having trouble deciding.

"Finn, I know I don't have to tell this to you but trust him. You can feel it don't you? Something about him is weird and when you feel it, you can't help but trust him." The goddess stated in all honesty, brushing off her playfulness.

"Alright, I trust you. Everyone! We won't be entering this place for a while. We have to plan this carefully so for now. Let us leave this place." He then looked at the mysterious person and nodded at him.

They were about to leave the place but was stopped when they heard the person shouting at their direction but it was already too late. One of them got taken by a huge vine and was dragged behind the door. But the mysterious man followed and saved her the moment they've entered the door but what happened next is someting that they never expected.

The door closed and was shut tight. everyone made an attempt to open it even Riveria tried to use all of her magics but failed to even scatch the door.

"Line!!" Aki screamed as she tries to break the door. Desperately trying to get inside because who knows what happened to those two. The mysterious adventurer might be strong but he's no match Valleta and Revis combined.

Inside.

"I'm sorry everyone..! "

Her life was just a few inches away from death as the monster who dragged her inside was there waiting for it's "food" to arrive to it's mouth. But the unknown hero did not allow it.

Rushing towards them at full speed, the unknown adventurer wasted no time and started to enchant his weapon with fire magic, prepairing to slash the vines that binds the girl as well as slashing the accursed monster a long with it's magic stone to set Line free.

"Let her go..!" He shouted as he freed the girl and grabbed her by his left arm. But what happened next caught him off guard and he was forced to shield the girl in his arms with his own body as Violas started to spawn around and attach them.

"Gah...!!" He successfully protected Line but he on the other hand was injured badly, and after seeing his state. Line panicked and does not know what to do but when she saw his face. Her panic has gone away and was replaced by curiosity, shock and surprise.

"No way... Bell.. Cranel..?" She whispered as she looked at the boy's pained expression as the lay on the ground facing each other but after snapping out of it. She immediately grabbed two mid tier potions from her bag to give it to him.

But before she could open it up. The monsters started attacking again but to her surprise, the potion from her hand disappeared as well as the adventurer in front of her and when she found where he is. He was already slicing up the monsters at an incredible speed.

"Amazing... I can see why Aki chose him... He's so strong and from what I heard from Riveria-sama. He was also very kind and honest, nothing about him is wrong in any sense. He might be naive but that naivity of him made him who he is. But how can he grow so fast in just a few months after he left Hestia Familia? And from what I heard, he had his Falna removed so how? " As she wonders why he still have his powers. Bell finished off the remaining monster before heading towards Line.

"Are you okay young lady?" Unaware that his hood came off. He continued his facade and extended a hand to the lady which she gladly took. But after that, she giggled lightly because of the fact that he's so oblivious that his identity was already revealed to her.

"Thank you, Cranel-san. For saving me..." The supporter smiled gently to him which made him blush. But after realizing what she just said. He screamed out and asked how she knew who he is.

After explaining everything. Bell begged her to not tell anyone including Aki. Line then nodded and said 'Yes' and even though she's curious as to why he's hiding and who is he serving right now, she held herself back.

"Thank you for understanding me. Well, let's get out now-Oh! Before I forgot." He sheathed his sword and then started fixing his clothes, putting back his hood and adding a mask to ensure that no one would notice who he is.

He requested to her if she could back away. After agreeing, Bell started to charge his skill argonaut and channeling it all to his sword. He took a stance and then dashed through the door before slashing it.

BOOM

The sound of explosion was loud enough to make all of them cover their ears and duck down.

The Loki Familia's eyes shot wide as they saw Line unscratched and smiling to them a long with the "unknown" person.

Overjoyed. Aki jumped straight to her friend with tears of joy, embracing her, genuinely happy to see her alive. The scene was so touching that it took all of Bell's will to stop himself from reaching out to her.

"Thank you, you don't know how thankful I am so please, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask me...!" She tearfully approached and thanked him, not knowing who he is.

While watching the two, Line could feel her heart feeling sorry for Bell. Not being able to tell even the person he loves his identity will surely hurt him tremendously, especially right now where he can reach out to her. She decided then to approach Bell too and thank him again. And giving him a determined look.

"Thank you again mister adventurer, I know it's hard but I believe in you. You can do it." After reading between the lines on her words. Bell immediately understood her. Smiling, he reached out for the healer's hand and said "Thank you" before heading towards Finn.

"Line?" The cat girl called out to her friend.

"Yes?"

"For some reason, I feel extremely jealous of you and I don't know why." Aki sweat dropped at her own statement before embracing her friend once again.

As the "unknown" adventurer approaches Finn, Bete on the other hand was smiling. Unlike his unusual smile like mocking everyone around him. His smile this time looks like somewhat proud. Proud of someone. The wolf slowly walked pass him smiling down to the adventurer as he whispers something

"Yo... You've gotten stronger kid..." He then waved and went towards the two girls who's still embracing each other. "Isn't that enough? Cut it out I'm getting sick of it..." He then returned to his normal boastful behavior.

"Thank you, I may not know who you are but I give my gratitude to you. For saving one of our most important members of second team, As well as saving me." He hold his right hand out and was expecting him to take and shake it but instead, he shook his head. Saying that "I only did the right thing so there is no need to thank me."

After giving Finn all the information he needs, Bell disappeared. Leaving the confused members of Loki familia as to what to think of him.

A/N: I think I rushed the ending of thing chapter. And sorry since I'm so busy buying gifts for everyone here in my family.

And I also just returned to playing Bleach Brave Souls only to be reminded by how much of a fucking dumpster the PVP is. Because of just 1 character. Imagine grinding 69 hours per day to max out your pvp team but 1 character is all your enemy needs to fuck you up. Isn't that frustrating? I started to hate Jugram because of that. And also, I didn't get the new christmas version of Riruka!

Enough rant.

EDIT: Yes, Bete knows who he is because of his scent. But he kept his mouth shut because he wants Finn and the others to overthink this.

Line and Bell will become friends and Aki will get the spotlight when the Xenos' came out. The rescue for Haruhime and Asterius' appearance will also happen at the same time. Mikoto will also get some as well as Shakti since I hate how the anime just pushed her aside after 2 episodes.
