Let's have some fun with Thor and Jane.

Differences in this chapter: All of it.

The next day, Dalla and Loki were enjoying Asgard when Thor and Jane came into view. Dalla and Loki stood up and hid behind a plant. They couldn't hear what they were talking about but they saw the kiss.

This is going to be so fun, said Loki.

Don't even think about it, Dalla replied, slapping his arm. Give them this moment. We can tease him at dinner. I'm thinking worms on his spoon.

He shook his head. Fine. But he would have let me ruin your moment with the captain when you kissed him back on Midgard.

You didn't do that because you knew I would have retaliated, she smirked.

True, but also because you may not be able to leave Asgard and that one day may be all you get, he replied.

Dalla's face fell. Don't remind me.

Loki put his hand on her shoulder. Sister, we will find a way to get you back to your soldier.

She smiled up at him. Then the last one to find their own mortal will be you, dearest brother.

I won't fall for a mortal, he said, sounding almost disgusted by the notion.

If Thor can find one to put up with him and actually kiss him, we can find one for you too, she chuckled. One better than Thor's woman.

Then you admit, she won't be a mortal, he countered with a smirk.

Oh, I see, Dalla replied. So, you have a crush on Sif.

"I do not have a crush on Sif!" Loki yelled, giving their position away.

Dalla stood up, chuckling. She knew he really didn't care for Sif, but she loved teasing him with his childhood crush. It quickly broke when she chose Thor's side in everything, looking down on him and Dalla.

"Ah, brother," said Thor, sounding somewhat put out. "Sister. So good of you to join us…"

"Yes," said Dalla, "we thought we should get to know your mortal."

"Um, this mortal has a name," she said angrily. "It's Jane Foster."

"Yes, well, I hope Thor has told you about us. The good things. You saw the bad."

"Um, no, he hasn't really talked about you."

"Thor! You haven't told her of your beautiful twin sister and mildly attractive brother?" Dalla pretended to be hurt by that knowledge.

"Mildly?" Loki asked, mimicking her tone. "That hurts, sister."

Thor could only smile as the byplay continued. He took Jane's hand and said, "Yes, well, those two are Asgard's troublemakers. They have been pardoned of any wrongdoing due to the deeds they have done since New Mexico."

"You mean, saving New York?"

"And other things."

Thor smiled. "Yes. This bickering is their way of welcoming you. They are closer than any other in Asgard." He began to lead her away. "My guess, from the way Loki yelled, Dalla was teasing him and plans on setting him up with a mortal of his own."

"What person on Earth could handle him? I mean, I did read up on Norse mythology while you were away. He's the God of Mischief."

"When we were younger, he was much better than you and others on Earth have known. Same for Dalla."

"Tell me about her. Is she really your twin? You look nothing alike."

"As children, we did. She was kind and loved to dance in the gardens. Her temper was always getting her in trouble because things would burst into flames, but her laughter and smile lit up the room. As she and her powers grew, the people became fearful. She became more distant. Loki and I became her only playmates after a time. Her hair darkened as the fire in her turned her golden hair black, as if burned. Because Loki was treated the same as her due to his pranks, they relied on each other for support."

"What about you?"

"I was focused on becoming king, battling, and everyone seemed to care for me. I didn't notice how they treated my siblings differently from me. Even my father treated them as a nuisance rather than his children. I do not blame them for their anger toward me. I did not make things easier. If anything, I added to their pain."

"You can't take on that blame. They had choices."

"As adults, yes, but as children, they were alienated by our people and our father. When Dalla went to Earth for the first time, alone, she came back broken. I dismissed her pain, as it seemed that is what my father was doing. Father treated it as a whim, so I did as well. New Mexico was a culmination of pain and anger of them both."

"Wait, she fell in love with someone from Earth and…"

"I was still a foolish boy, Jane. In meeting you, I understood my twin like I never had before. The things she felt for her mortal, I feel for you. She and I have grown closer since New Mexico. I have no doubt she and Loki saw our kiss, but she talked him out of bothering us."

"Oh, well." Jane blushed.

He opened a door. "For now, let's go…"

At that moment, water fell over Thor, sparing Jane. Dalla and Loki came around and laughed at their brother.

"You had that planned well, sister," said Loki, "though a bit childish."

"I spared Jane," she admitted. "Never mess with a woman's hair." She linked arms with Jane at that moment. "I love your Midgardian jacket. In a strange way, it goes well with your Asgardian dress."

"Oh," Jane said as they moved around a dripping Thor, "thank you."

"We should get to know each other. If you are the one my twin brother has chosen, you may join the family soon."

"Wait, what?"

They were out of earshot of the boys soon enough. Loki shook his head. Thor, however, was nervous about what Dalla would tell or do to Jane.

"Do not worry, brother," said Loki. "The future queen of Asgard will need to know a few things."

"Only if she so chooses," Thor said. "She is mortal and may not want that. I'm not sure if I want it anymore. Perhaps the throne should go to another."

"I'd be honored." Loki smiled.

"I was meaning Dalla, but nice try."

Suddenly, there was a scream and the brothers ran to find the girls. Dalla was between Jane and Hodur. She despised the God of Darkness and Winter. Though his ice powers could hurt her, she didn't like that he had a stupid crush on her.

"Why would you put ice in the halls?" Dalla asked. "You caused Jane to fall and almost got her hurt!"

"Always sympathizing with mortals," Hodur said. "I am blind, sweet Dalla." He pulled out a bouquet of roses and held them out for her. "For you, princess."

She snatched them from his hand. "How many times must I tell you? I will never choose you, Hodur. I'd rather go on a date with anyone but you! You're a bigger flirt than Fandral and have bedded more people than Loki! And that's saying something!"

"That's rude, sister," said Loki, joining her as Thor stood next to Jane. "The truth, but still, I'm hurt that I was in that sentence."

"I said you were better than him, brother. I flattered you."

"Explain yourself, Hodur," Thor said.

"I only wanted to get Dalla's attention. Her mortal is dead, so…"

"Steve is alive, you halfwit!" Dalla yelled. "And I love him! I will never love you!"

"You wound me, Dalla. You're mortal will die and I will be here."

He walked away. Dalla was so angry the roses in her hand burst into flames. Loki came around her and put his hands on her shoulders. It's alright, Dalla. We won't let him bother you again.

I hate him, Dalla said, ashes now falling from her hand. I know he's blind, but he only wants me because I'm the first and only person to not jump into his bed by his pretty words. I have no sympathy for a man who uses his disability just for sex.

"Breath," said Jane. "It's just a bruise, Dalla. You kept me from hitting anything and making it worse."

"I'll speak to Father about his antics again," said Thor. "I am sorry for what he said about the Captain."

She looked at her brothers and Jane, angry tears falling as she said, "I just want him to leave me alone. I will not listen to his drivel. If Jane were not here, his words would have been so much worse."

"How so?" asked Jane.

"He tries to tear me down, Lady Jane. Make me feel ashamed of who I am and of my powers. I moved on from that, thanks to Steve and Loki. I am proud to be the Goddess of Fire. He wants to look good to everyone, even mortals. Yes, you saved me from trying to kill him."

"Trying?"

"The man seems to have an extra sense that helps him avoid all attacks. Then I look bad when people walk in on the fight."

"Typical douchebag. And he's blind?"

"Side effects of being a God of Darkness."

"And he…"

"He's slept with every maid and their husbands because they feel sorry for him."

"Gross."

The women walked off together, comparing Hodur to others like him. Thor and Loki followed after them. With her calming down with the talk, the rest of the evening was filled with the two women becoming fast friends.
