Chapter 23: Clash!
After revealing herself, Astrea also revealed the truth about the armed monsters. Even though she knows that all of them might attack Lyd and the others again, she still called for the first and second in command in their group. The acting captain Lyd and their acting vice-captain Ray.
"As you can see here, they have names and they act differently. And that's because they are not the monsters that you guys are used to encounter." Astrea explained seriously as she gestured to the two to stand beside her.
"Bell, I know who she is and I do respect her a lot but... Is it true that you were helping this monsters? If yes, why?" Aki asked the boy beside her while tightening her grip on his hand, demanding an answer from him.
Aki was getting impatient because of how silent he is but that soon vanished when he smiled at her and said "Just watch them and you'll see soon".
"If you guys are still having doubts then I have a little surprise for you. Both of you, please aproach Finn and Riveria and apologize for the mess that everyone have caused. Also, explain them why you guys are here above the surface as well as what you've discovered below." She smiled at the two Xenos before they nodded. A second later, Ray started to walk towards the elven beauty while Lyd walks towards the blonde pallum.
""Um... We're very sorry for all the trouble.""
""H-huh!?"" The two of them could not believe that the monsters in front of them just spoke, especially Riveria. Never in her long life did she expect a monster acting weird and very rational yet it's not that impossible but going as far as to speak is something else. She's so shocked that she almost fainted when she heard the siren in front of her spoke.
"The truth is we never actually planned on going here to the surface like this but we have no other choice since we can't just go back the way we did when we came up here... Because the group of adventurers that you guys call 'Evilus' were hunting us down." Ray explained to the shocked Riveria but after hearing the word Evilus from her, it brought her back to her senses and can now properly analyze what she's saying.
"She's right, there was a part of their group that hunts down intellegent monsters like us and sell us here at the surface, but since we were stronger and more informed than normal monsters, we were able to fend them off and evade their attacks until today..." The lizard man explained to the blonde commander who's eyeing him intently.
"I see. But how did you get here in the first place? Is there a path here that leads to the dungeon?" Finn asked bluntly. After realizing that this is probably the best thing he could get out from them, he wasted no time asking the lizard man because the thing they've discovered may lead to their advantage against the Evilus.
"Yeah about that... There is a secret path in the 18th Floor eastern wall. A key was necessary to enter that place but you need to search for it because it normally looks like a plain wall but if you show this eye in to that specific spot, the wall will vanish and a second exit/entrance to the dungeon will appear. There, no monsters will spawn but there are a lot of adventurers there who imprisson intellegent monsters like us and sell them here in the surface."
Saying that Finn is blown away by his words were an understatement. With so many informations that's flowing to his mind. First, Bell being the savior of their Familia and their ally, his connections with Ouranus and the Xenos as well as taking care of them in secret, the other dungeon entrance that they knew existed but never knew where exactly it was and lastly. The fact that Astrea returned and decided to protect this monsters knowing that her reputation as a goddess of justice might vanish.
"Alright... Thank you mons-no, Xenos. But I still can't allow you guys to run freely here at the suface." Finn closed his eyes before opening them again and signaling all of his subordinates to capture all the monsters but before all the level 4 and below adventurers could move. Bell knocked them down.
"Thanks Bell. Finn, I don't think this is the right thing to do now and I know that you knew that already right from the start. Since they are as strong as a first class adventurers, I think we could use their strength to our advantage in our battle against the Evilus. I've already discussed this to them ahead of time and they said that "If Bell will fight, we'll also lend a hand to those adventurers". Not a bad deal right?" Astrea gambled on a proposal to Finn. She knew that Finn won't make a wrong decision but he will also use every single tool he had to his advantage. But the answer she got was not the answer she expected to hear.
"Sorry lady Astrea but I can't. Everyone! Capture them!"
Bell already saw this coming and already chanted a magic silently ahead of time. He chanted one of his most powerful lightning magic in case the Loki Familia decides to attack.
" HADŌ NO 88!! HIRYŪ GEKIZOKU SHINTEN RAIHŌ!!!! "
A huge beam of blue lightning presented itself and it was huge enough to cover the whole path of the Loki Familia. Even their most tenacious member Gareth knew that he wouldn't survive a magic of that level if it hits him directly, that's why they decided to retreat for the moment and this opened up the opportunity for Bell and the Xenos to escape.
Hearth Fire Manor.
Mikoto's POV.
I hope he's alright. He's a very strong individual and besides, Lyd-dono and the others are with him so they should be fine. But something about that adventurer were a little bit suspicious, even though he said that his name was Red, I don't think that's his real name. It was probably an alias or something like that.
"Do you guys think that we can trust that adventurer to save our little girl and bring her back to her comrades? I know that Lyd-dono and the others knew him and trusts him but there is something about him that bothers me..." I said to both Welf-dono and Lily-dono as well as Hestia-sama and it looks like they have the same conclusion I have.
"Yeah... He might be working with those guys who kidnapped our little girl and the others... We should investigate...!"
The three of us decided to head out and for Hestia-sama to remain but as soon as we got out, we were surprised by the first news we heard from the passing by adventurers.
"Who knew that those armed monsters will go up here at the surface... And to think that the one helping them in the shadows is li-"
"Idiot!! The guild told us to not talk about that person in public!! We don't know his objectives as well as those monters reason to go up here but we just have to stop them and capture then, that's ehat the guild ordered us to do." The two man said as they walked pass us and was headed to the direction of Daedalus Street.
"What are they thinking..! Lyd-san and the others are not thinking straight! We made a huge mistake to let that shady adventurer help them in our stea-mph...!!!!!!"
"Shut up Lil'Lilly! We can't talk about this publicly! If things got out of the public that we kept one of them in our home, we might get vanished from Orario and for Hestia-sama to return to Gekai!!"
"Mmmmmmm!!! Mmmpppp!!!!" (Alright!!! Remove your filthy hand on my mouth already!!!!).
A few minutes have passed and Lily-dono have finally calmed down and we decided to ask around some adventurers and residents on what happened earlier.
Apparently, a fight broke out earlier in the middle of Daedalus Street. The unknown adventurer fought against a dragon girl who's jewel on it's forehead was stolen and was running amok through the streets. The adventurer managed to corner the dragon but the Loki Familia soon appeared and was about to help him defeat the monster but he insisted on taking her on alone. And then, the top class adventurers refused his request and started to move towards their direction and that's when the mob of armed monsters appeared and fought the Loki Familia on equal footing until a huge black minotaur entered the scene.
The rest is unknown because all the adventurers watching the fight were knocked out unconscious because of the monster's Howl skill.
"So we still don't know what really happened there huh... It's going to be tough but I think we should also head to the Daedalus street and pretend to participate on what they're doing there."
"You're right... Let's go Welf-dono, Lily-dono. It's impossible for them to return to the dungeon by themselves, thet are going to gather way too many attention by moving in such a large group. Even if they divide themselves, it would be too risky. That's why we have to find them ahead of time so we can help them."
Guild Underground.
Normal POV.
A small goddess were slowly making her way towards the chamber where the first god who descended to the lower world resides. As she walks slowly, a trail of thoughts were running on her head.
But as soon as she reached the room, Ouranus immediately noticed her pressence and welcomed her arrival.
"Let's skip the pleasantries, just tell us how we can help the little girl and the other Xenos escape the Loki Familia and other adventurers?" The short goddess demanded.
"As you wish, take this orb from me and map. This is a map of Daedalus street and this orb is the magic item I always use whenever I need to contact Fels, you can use this to ask them for their locations as well as track their movements with the map."
"Alright, I'll go now." Hestia immediately dashed off as soon as she got the items she need.
"She never change, she's still the same old Hestia everyone in Gekai knew. Now, you can come in. Child of Prophecy."

Sorry for uploading this late, I'm just busy setting up my new phone and testing the PS5.
Anyway, this is a little shorter than the other chapters and basically nothing happens hear but on the next ones. A lot of things will happen and when I say a lot, it's really A LOT.
