New update! Sorry, I posted late, busy with school. Man, I felt like I was overloaded with work this week. I'm just glad I was able to get this out though. Anyway, enjoy this chapter as always, and sorry this chapter is shorter.
"What? Who's he? Is he the one behind the president's daughter's disappearance? And spouse?" Leon held his head worriedly.
"Yes, he is. You need to be careful now, more than you already were. Knowing him he might just try to stop you from getting to the President's daughter completely. Or from leaving here at all," Luis spoke.
Leon paused for a moment taking in this new information. Spouse? Seed bearer? He was in no mood to date currently knowing his heart was set on someone out of his reach but seed bearer? Why would he be chosen for that? His anatomy could help make a child if he wanted but not hold it in his actual system! Plus being forced to marry another guy he didn't even know. Heck no! Now this mission seemed to start getting out of hand. He knew he had to go retrieve the president's daughter now and leave before any of this got any worse.
Luis grabbed Leon's upper arms and shook him out of his trance. "Hey. Hey! I know this is some pretty big news, but there is no time to worry about this. You need to take action and leave."
Leon was about to answer until a static noise abrupted the moment. Luis let go as he walked to another corner of the room to think as Leon quickly picked up his transmitter from his belt and answered it.
"Hunnigan, sorry I couldn't answer earlier I was a bit tied up at the moment." Realizing he made a joke as a form of coping with what he just found out.
"You're okay, right?" Hunnigan said amused.
"I'm fine. There was another civilian captive male. According to him, Ashley must be in a church somewhere back in town." Leon sighed brushing his hair out of his face.
"Alright, and what happened to him?" Hunnigan questioned.
"He…He managed to escape…" Leon answered with a little hesitation in his voice.
Hunnigan seemed to either have ignored his uncertainty or just might have not noticed it but she continued, "Do you have a fix on the location of that church?"
Leon began to tell how he found out that there was a secret passage in the village that led over to where the church was and that he was going to head over right now. Hunnigan never noticed the new paleness to Leon's face as they both ended their call. Upon noticing that Leon had finished his call, Luis headed back to him from his corner.
"Okay, I have decided," Luis stated putting his hands on his hips.
"Decided what?" Leon asked turning his attention to the tan man.
"Look, I know I said that I was going straight to leave, but I have changed my mind. Since we are both heading back the same way, I'll join you for a bit until I have to take my leave."
"Are you just doing this because of that symbol on the back of my neck?"
Luis stayed quiet for a moment, deciding his answer. "Of course not amigo! I just don't want to go out alone, you know how these villagers are. Better safe than sorry."
Leon narrowed his eyes for a split second. But nodded in the end.
"You have a weapon on you at least, right?" Leon asked taking his handgun back out and walking towards the hallway at the end of the house.
"Yes, I do it's right…here," Luis patted his pockets-empty. Luis noticed Leon leaving the room and soon followed after. Both noticed a figure through a window at the end of the hallway.
"Psst, over here strangers!" a short hooded figure loudly whispered to them as walked passed the window disappearing to the side of the house outside. The blond gave a confused look to the curly-haired man.
"It's okay amigo, he's not the enemy," Luis said relieved as he moved to the front-leaving the house first.
Leon watched Luis leave through the back door. He seemed eager. Leon thought. He continued walking forward to find some herbs right before he left and some extra ammo specifically for a rifle. He quickly stashed them away before leaving through the door. Finally, back outside again he felt the fresh breezy air on his face. It truly felt nice to be out of that stuffy-rundown home. Feeling like he had enough of the fresh air he continued around the back of the house to see the man from earlier. He had his long black trench coat opened up to Luis who seemed to be carefully browsing. Leon noticed all the guns he had hooked to his inner coat. It impressed Leon, and that's when the 'dealer' noticed the new customer.
"Welcome, stranger! I am the merchant with all the good deals for guns on the go. If you got the money-I most certainly have a good item for you in return. Now, I might have something that might interest ya!"
"Hmm, what do you have?"
The merchant then pulled out a long gun that seemed to have a nice wood finish.
"How much?"
"12,000 pesetos"
"Here this should be enough." The blond then handed a small but fat coin bag to the merchant who greedily took it while he absent-mindedly handed over the rifle.
"Nice doing business with ya!" The merchant chirped as he went back to Luis asking if he'd chosen anything to buy yet. Leon would have sat on waiting for the man to finish, but Luis seemed to be taking his sweet time. That's when he let Luis know he was going to go ahead and get a head start. Luis agreed to say after he would hurry. The American then walked away back to the "backyard" of the house. He walked over to two metal doors. Before opening, he noticed a crack in the wall off to the side. He decided to check what he was going to get himself into. He saw a deep valley filled with houses that stood on wooden legs along with bridges all over the place. He walked back to the metal doors, overhearing Luis finishing up his trade in the back. Leon then lifted his leg and kicked the door and with a large bang the door flew open. Leon quietly peeked his head out to the right. Immediately he set on a dirt path road that curved toward a mountain that was connected to three other bridges. But toward the end of the pathway, he noticed two locals with pitchforks, backs facing away from Leon. The blond stepped out onto the dirt pathway holding his trusty handgun out. Ready to shoot. The two guards immediately turned around with furious faces. That's when one of the 'guards' noticed Leon. Instincts kicked in.
"¡El santo está aquí!" One of them yelled, alerting the others.
(Translation: The holy one is here!)
Leon was prepared for battle, he was about to shoot until the one yelled, after fell to his knees, his arms stretched out toward the blond. The other followed suit.
"What?" Leon lowered his gun a bit.
Were they bowing to him? Soon other villagers came running in. Most seemed astonished to see Leon. But one right after the other the villagers started to fill the pathway making Leon back up in the wall on the other side of the pathway. They were cornering him. He finally stopped when he felt his back hit the wall though he did not realize he had lowered his gun completely. Literally nowhere to go. They all kept bowing lifting their head to him and slowly lowering it back down to the ground. Did they seem to be worshiping him? Boy, could this day get even weirder? That's when the two other locals who seemed to have their way up front and close with Leon got up. The first one with a greasy face and who seemed to be a few centimeters shorter came up to him and tried to talk to him in Spanish. That's when the curly hair man arrived. Leon heard more footsteps from a distance and his eyes looked to the entrance of the doorway but Luis stopped upon seeing the rows of villagers outside. He peeked his head out to see what they were blocking the entranceway until he got a glimpse of his new American friend being cornered at the end, noticing he wasn't getting a single word in from one of the villagers talking to him.
Luis butted in from where he was standing in the gateway, "Uhh, sabes que él no habla español, ¿verdad?"
(Translation: Uhh, you do know he doesn't speak Spanish right?")
The man talking to Leon turned around to the voice in the gateway. "Espera, ¿él no habla español?"
(Translation: Wait, he does not speak Spanish?")
The other man standing nearby grabbed the man that was originally talking to Leon and socked him harshly. A harsh groan erupted from the man that got punched, he fell to his knees and stared at the floor.
"Mira, te lo dije, pero no, decidiste no escuchar." The other man had said, as he continued to scold the local on his knees.
(Translation: See, I told you, but no you decided not to listen.)
The American took his chance to look at the tan man standing at the entranceway of the gate.
"Luis! You speak the local language, what the hell are they talking about?"
"They seemed to try and tell you that everyone is ecstatic to see their 'holy one' and other shit like that"
"That's what they cornered me for? That bullish-"
The other man that was scolding the other local seemed to have finished walking back toward Leon. He seemed a few inches taller than him, but there seemed to be a height difference. The man stopped right in front of Leon blocking his only view of Luis at the doorway. Not sure of what to do, the blond kept a tight grip on his gun, and that was when the other man surprised him by grabbing Leon by both of his wrists and getting on one knee in front of him.
In a rough accent he spoke, "El Sagrado!" he started. "We thank you for gifting us with your presence!" The other locals stopped bowing to cheer in agreement.
(Translation: Holy one or Sacred one)
Leon was beginning to get annoyed by these people, they were making him lose valuable time. That's when the blond started struggling to get free.
"Umm, you're welcome? You can let me go now." Leon told moving his arms more vigorously now since the other guy hadn't released him yet.
"Oh, I am sorry Sagrado, but that is something I can not do. Our lord has given orders to watch and protect this place and to make sure to protect you and to prevent you from leaving."
"Why?" Leon growled as he pulled. Why the heck is this dude so strong? The blond thought.
"Our lord is to swing by soon to pick you up and start the ceremony. You cannot leave, you are protected here" The man finished still not letting go of Leon. Luis looked panicked and seemed like he tried to intervene from where Leon saw. Though Luis had no such luck when some of the villagers taking a knee and started to attack him. Leon began to ponder about the ceremony as well as wanting to go over and help Luis, though that didn't happen. Why does he need to go to a ceremony and be the protected? Protected his ass, he was supposed to be the protector and not the protected. The man bowing his head to the 'holy one' quickly stood up, still holding onto the American.
"Come Sagrado, allow me to escort you back inside."
The man holding Leon looked proud at the stunt he was pulling or his stinky breath. The people who were originally bowing to Leon started to stand back up to resume their work. At this point Leon had enough and didn't allow the man to drag him back inside, instead, he lifted his leg and kicked the man so hard he let go flying in the air a bit before skidding against the ground. Luis took his chance at quickly started shooting with his newly acquired red 9 at the men who were still in the midst of getting up.
A fight soon began. Locals seemed interested in capturing Leon and killing Luis. Though neither of them let it happen. Together as a team, they shot down the infected and delusional people. Upon crossing a bridge and climbing a ladder to get to a rooftop, Leon saw a chest and took the shot to grab whatever was in it. He found what seemed to be half of an emblem. Great another puzzle. Guess he was glad he found one half already, he just needed to find the other. He dropped back down again to find Luis had killed off two more locals. They ran back from where they came and in the direction of a new bridge. They went through all the open areas just trying 'clean the area'. That's when Luis found another chest toward the exit and opened it to find another piece of the emblem. They both met up at the end only making sure that there were no others. It became desolate with only the wind howling in their ears. Leon walked over to the exit. One of the emblems in his hand. Luis handed him the other. Finally piecing them together setting them into the doorway. A loud rumbling noise was heard as the metal doors started to open. A sigh of relief escaped from the blond's lips as he continued to move forward. Luis followed. There was a moment of silence between them. Luis took this moment to study his new American friend. He watched how his dark blue jeans hugged very fine behind. For a guy-it was pretty big, his brown eyes trailed up to see the other man's dark grey tight-fitted t-shirt hugging the Blond's hips and waist. Wow. His eyes continued going higher seeing the defined shoulders and biceps. He also never realized how his shirt also hugged the American's chest so perfectly. Even though Leon's back still faced away from Luis, Luis remembered those pale blue eyes and full pale rose lips. His blond hair always seemed to hug the American's face so wonderfully. Luis couldn't understand what was wrong with him, He could feel this tingle low under his belly and fluttering in his chest. What's this? This is the only type of feeling he would get when he saw a super pretty woman at the bar. Luis continued to analyze his thoughts not realizing Leon had stopped and turned to look at Luis.
"Luis, look there's- oof!"
Luis had accidentally walked right into Leon causing the blond to trip on himself. Leon felt himself falling so he reached his arm out to catch himself closing his eyes. But he realized he never hit the floor. He opened his eyes back up to stare right back into Luis's brown ones. He parted his lips but nothing came out. Luis continued to look at Leon's pale blue eyes. Leon felt he was at a slant. Luis' arm felt warm around Leon's waist. To both of them, this moment felt long even though it was only a minute though.
"Luis."
"Yeah?"
"You can let go, now."
"Oh! S-sorry amigo." Luis finished bringing up Leon.
"It's alright…Look over there." The blond told pointing over to a building in their way.
An old building stood before them which seemed embedded in the mountain behind to the two metal entry doors. It seemed quiet at first knowing when they entered what seemed to be another storage room of some sort. They both looked around to find not many useful things maybe some more ammo and gems. Though Leon seemed to have found a gold mask from a window in the corner of the room being blocked. Luis got Leon's attention back standing near another door, leading to their exit. There they both were ambushed by more of the infected locals. They fought their way through leaving enemies in their wake. They were being swarmed by the time they made their way to the next part of the building which seemed to be a furnace room. There they found enemies using dynamite and rigged bombs on the floor. Though it seemed to have worked in their favor having some trying to hop over to where they hid and exploded themselves in the process. It definitely helped with saving some ammo. Though as the last of the locals who had explosives accidentally kill themselves, two more locals came out. They were shot down quickly.
"Wow! Your aim is scarily accurate."
"Well, I gotta have good accuracy or we would be dead by now"
"Dead? That would only be me right now, don't forget they want you alive because Sad-"
Leon turned his head and glared at Luis.
"Got it. Too early, I know. Sorry" Luis raised his hands in defense.
They continued out of the room, and Leon finally had a chance to retrieve the gold mask he saw earlier. They finally walked through the last hall making their way to the exit door. They walked out to the smell of dead fish in the air. They were in a sewer now. Luis shot another local who seemed to protect this area on his lonesome. Though it took a few bullets. Finally, they made it to the ladder taking them out of the stinky place.
Making it back to above high ground. They found a few open and abandon shacks along a dirt pathway covered in leaves. At the end of the pathway was an old mini-mansion. Which seemed to be stuck in the victorian era theme. Though its paint was wasted away over the years.
Both men walked up the pathway. The entrance seemed to be upstairs or maybe it was the back entrance?
Luis pointed his gun down as he suggested to Leon, "I'll check around the area, you see if there is an opening up the stairs." Leon nodded. The blond then went upstairs and found a door that could be opened if the puzzle embedded in it was solved correctly. Though it didn't seem too hard, knowing the blond got it on the first try. A small rumble noise started as the door holding the puzzle slid into the wall, revealing the room behind it. Luis came back up saying he found nothing outside. They continued in finding an old bedroom. The curly-haired man opened up a desk drawer to find ammo. Leon found an opened chest with a key in it. He grabbed it to find a portrait of a decrypted-looking man in a purple robe hung right beside it. It feels discomfort rise in him. He looked away from the picture quickly feeling as if he would have stared too long before it would come to life and he didn't let that thought continue. Luis quickly went to the wardrobe off to the side and opened it to find some herbs laying scattered on its floor. He quickly picked it up and went back to the American and the closed door on the other side of the room.
Ready Leon went in first. He slowly opened its door checking it from its blind spot being the right. He did see the new taller figure behind him. Leon turned to the left too late seeing a shadowed hand reaching for him …
Gotta wait until next time. Tehe. Bye!
