Today was the day Luan Loud, the fourth-oldest child of Lynn Loud Sr. and Rita Loud, was to get married to her longtime boyfriend, Benny Stein. She had to wait until her older sisters Lori, Leni, and Luna were married until Luan could tie the knot herself. This reflected the agreement by the Loud kids to get married in order from oldest to youngest. But it would be worth the wait.
Not long after she graduated high school, Luan converted to Judaism, as Benny himself was Jewish. To this day, Luan considers her Bat Mitzvah the defining moment of her life as an adult up to this time. Given this, Benny and Luan wanted to have a Jewish wedding.
Everyone from previous Loud family weddings, except Mick Swagger, was in attendance, as were numerous family members of Benny and friends of them. Given that this was going to be a Jewish wedding, the Moon Goats decided not to be the musical entertainment this time around in favor of traditional Jewish wedding music.
By this point in time, Lori and Leni each had their first child, Lori having a boy and Leni having a girl, while Luna had gotten pregnant through artificial insemination.
Lynn Sr. was expected to get emotional at this wedding, as he did at the weddings of Lori, Leni, and Luna.
Most of the Loud kids all wanted to have their weddings in June. However, Benny and Luan could not do so since the Christian June included time that was part of The Three Weeks during the Jewish calendar. They also couldn't get married on a Saturday according to Jewish law, because that was the day of the Sabbath. Thus, Benny and Luan had to choose a day in August that was neither the Sabbath nor Tisha B'Av, specifically, they had to wait until the latter had gone by since it marked the end of The Three Weeks.
Once the wedding day was here, Benny had to agree to be bound by the terms of the ketubah in the presence of two witnesses outside of Benny and Luan's families who would sign it. Two Jewish friends of Benny that he knew since elementary school signed the ketubah, while the Stein and Loud families were all witnessing.
The ceremony took place under a chuppah, while Luan wore a veil as part of her dress. Luan would be escorted to the chuppah by her mother and Benny's mother, while Benny would be escorted by the fathers.
After they arrived at the chuppah, Luan walked around Benny seven times, which reflected the Biblical concept of seven denoting perfection or completioness.
The next step before Benny and Luan were officially declared a couple was two blessings. The first blessing came over wine, followed by the betrothal blessing. Benny and Luan then tasted the wine. Benny then presented Luan with a ring made of solid gold, and recited a declaration: "Behold, you are consecrated to me with this ring according to the law of Moses and Israel". This was witnessed by two other members of the Drama Club from when Benny and Luan attended Royal Woods High School.
The formal start of the wedding came when the Sheva Brachot were recited. While it was possible for selected guests to recite them, Benny and Luan wanted the rabbi from the Royal Woods Synagogue to recite them. Accordingly, he did. After the blessings were performed, Benny and Luan drank the wine.
Benny then stepped on a glass with his right foot. After Luan and Benny were officially wed, the couple retreated to the rabbi's study for yichud. They spent 20 minutes alone, eating and relaxing before the celebrations began.
Benny and Luan then made a grand entrance into a room filled with all the guests, marking the beginning the celebrations of the two getting married, officially known as the Wedding Feast.
For the non-Jewish people in attendance, before the wedding day of Benny and Luan arrived they studied immensely about what Jewish weddings were like.
At the beginning of the Wedding Feast, the males and females were separated before dancing formally began. After the older guests had all left by the time a few hours had passed, the celebration got more livelier, with mixing of males and females, energetic dancing, and lots of fun.
But of course, it wouldn't be a Loud family wedding if Lynn Sr. didn't have an extreme emotional breakdown during it.
With four Loud kids now married, seven had yet to tie the knot. And because one of them was now Jewish, the person now known as Luan Stein, the Loud Family made the decision to celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah when those holidays came up while the Loud family got together.
Next year would be Lynn Jr.'s turn to get married. In high school, she had fallen in love with someone who was a carbon copy of her except for being male. (A/N this wedding won't be covered since I'm only writing weddings featuring canon characters).
Benny and Luan hoped to make it big as comedians. They not only wanted to do stand-up routines, but they also wanted to act in comedic films and TV series. Plenty of comedians juggled stand-up and acting together. Because of wanting a Jewish wedding, Benny and Luan insisted that no comedy take place at it.
By this point, Lori was very successful on the LPGA Tour, Leni was becoming a world-famous fashion designer and Luna's band the Moon Goats was on its way to international stardom. Benny and Luan had eyes on being the most successful husband-and-wife comedy duo ever.
As well, Lynn's Table had become very successful, allowing it to expand into a regional chain, with eyes on becoming a national chain later on. The Loud family had enough money to build a house so big each kid had their own room and bathroom, like the castle in Scotland, although most of the time these rooms would not be in use, only when a Loud kid was visiting.
The Loud family was well on its way to becoming the most successful family to originate out of Royal Woods, Michigan. Royal Woods had never really had any national celebrities hail from there in the past, but the Louds were changing all that.
