Well. I'm starting this on October 12th so let's see how long it takes to get this done. The chosen couple for this one shot is SylviaXChase. The last one shot was in adventure bay. So I decided this one will be your you can read for yourself. I'm not sure if I'll make this a full fledged story. There might be a lot of errors. If anyone wants to be a beta reader then I'm all for it. Like always hope ye enjoy.

THE SHERIFF AND OUTLAW

Tombstone city doesn't necessarily fit its name. A place filled with your average western people at its time. A time where cowboys, outlaws, deputies, and crooks were around. A little boys dream. Every outlaw or crook's dream was their fault. It's rumored that it's enough cash and gold to set you up for the rest of your days.

In tombstone, they were lucky to have their 2 hot shot sheriffs in their small town. Chase and Marshall were their names...

I let out a groan in my lonely room. It was yet another unbearably hot day and I don't even remember what happened last night. That's what you get when you decide to go to Nevada because it the new wave.

I escape my thoughts and grab my cowboy like hat, vest, badge, and revolver of the table and make my way out my wooden house. I looked down from the top of my town to end where the saloon was. It been pretty boring but since new folks have been coming they've started construction on a new bigger part of town. It's almost doubling in size which isn't much since it pretty small. Being the sheriff isn't the only thing I do.

I go to my well and bucket out some water. I smell a familiar scent behind me and knew it was my partner in crime.

I drank some water before turning towards him.

"Hey Marshall." I said to him like usual.

"Hey chase, you know a messenger came over on horseback and the railroad was finished. That means more people and more people mean more money." Marshall explained with his tail wagging.

Nice to see he was in a good mood. That girl he has been seeing seems to really lift him up. "So, I saw a bounty earlier this morning." I said giving him ideas what we are gonna do today.

"I'm not sure if I..." he started

"Not sure if you what?" I asked curiously. He's never opted against going for a bounty.

"...sure if I want to bounty hunt anymore. I'll still be a sheriff but bounty hunting it too risky now." He said looking down in disappointment.

I don't wanna say I expected this but our days were limited when he met that husky. I respect his choice. Maybe one last bounty "I see, one last bounty, before you go your ways." I asked

"No." He quickly denied.

"C'mon. We've been doing this forever and your just gonna end it like that?" I asked nagging him on.

"Chase... I saw that bounty paper too. Do you know who that is?" Marshall asked

"No, although she was pretty but that's probably just they way they drew her." I joked thinking about the masked bandit.

"You can go knock yourself out. I want to stay put here with Everest." Marshall said standing his ground.

"Okay,I'll be leaving when the train gets here. Best place to start is the source." I said drinking some more.

"Did you get your bandana and mask?" Marshall asked still showing that he cared.

"No." I responded walking back into my house and grabbing them.

I made my way out again and caught up with Marshall who was walking towards the old wooden saloon.

"Ugh, would one last shot hurt?" I asked him before we walked in.

"No, it wouldn't." He smiled before swinging the door open and releasing the noisy pups and men's sounds into the air.

We walked to the stools and our bartender Rocky came up to us. "2 shots of McBeth?" He asked already knowing what we order.

We both nodded.

"Coming right up."

"So, what made you back out from us being bounty hunting partners?" I asked

"Everest..." he replied

"Mmmmmh." I mumbled

"She worried every time I go out with you. I don't think she trusts you very much." Marshall said looking like he regretted saying that.

"Oh, okay then. What time is it anyways?" I asked thinking of what could've been a hangover from drinking to much.

"12:35. Shouldn't the train be gett-"

A loud horn blasted through the air shaking everyone inside the saloon.

Rocky brought our drinking and we left a generous tip before walking out and seeing a bunch of townsfolk surrounding the train.

"Nothing a horse can't do." I scoffed

"It can do everything it can but better." Marshall replied with a snicker.

I found the picture of the bounty and grabbed it. I looked at the back and the information was on the back. Even the city name. How generous of them to leave that.

"See ya later then." Marshall said as he turned towards me.

"I'll be back." I smiled before hugging him.

"AAAAALL ABOOOAARD." The conductor yelled while honking the loud horn.

I tipped my hat before walking towards one of the empty train cars and looking at Marshall as it started to move.

I said good by to my small town.

My stomach felt weird. Like it was being lifted up. Before I knew it I felt like barfing up last nights food and this mornings alcohol.

I stuck my head off the side and hurled it out and almost lost my hat to the wind.

I wasn't the only one feeling this. Multiple people were throwing up. The people in the car in front of me were projectile vomiting. I was lucky to dodge it but the not so fortunate in the back felt it.

I just sat down and tried to let my stomachs calm down. I've never felt like this before. Maybe because of the motion of the train.

Who knows... I looked at the city name and it read "Tumbleweed Town."

I rested my eyes and hoped my stomach would calm down for the rest of the ride.

I opened my eyes to the sound of the conductor yelling, kids screaming and crying, people chattering, and footsteps checking each train.

The sign outside said Tumbleweed Town... luckily. I'm not sure if I could do that again. The town wasn't a town. It was huge. There was a map of the place and something that caught my eye was 3 banks, police departments, and all kinds of other stuff.

It wasn't any colder or hotter. I scanned on the address on the back of the paper and the town was split into sections. It seemed to be A1 to A5.

He said the section which was A3 which was in the middle. I read more and my hopes died. I looked at the ugliest picture of a house in my life. If I'm lucky I can make the house out.

I looked back at the map and I was in the entrance to the town. All I had to do was walk straight into the zone.

After some time of walking and girls trying to flirt and me turning them down I made it into a pretty bland area.

I looked around for this poorly drawn house. As I did I ran into more posters of this bandit. Thinking of it now, I've never seen or heard of a female bandit. I think she's a girl. She has a pretty feminine look on her face.

"Guess I'll be knocking door to door..." I mumbled to myself as I walked past a Labrador and golden retriever. The heat won't help either. I groaned as I stood at the first door.

After some time of door knocking I same the usual "is this your bounty?" While raising up the picture and get a no and move on. I'm starting to think this was a joke. Until I knocked on a door with a strange little chihuahua. I did the usual and he dragged my inside. My hopes were hopes again and the heat was still heat.

"You looking for Sylvia?" He said to me in a nervous tone.

"Yeah" I said giving him the paper.

"That damn dog. She used me. She was so slick and how did I fall for it." He said to himself walking back and forward mumbling words to himself.

"Soooo, am I gonna get any information?" I asked looking at the train wreck of a chihuahua.

"Yeah, she's a German Shepherd, white and grey, let's see. She's very pretty. She used it like a weapon. You're not the only one tracking her." He said looking at me.

"Who else?" I asked knowing competition meant internal fighting.

"A lot. Best I've seen was a cane corso..." he said as it rang through my head.

"A c-cane corso?" I nervously asked.

He nodded.

"There goes that bounty. Cane corsos are like bears. They are huge." I said to him heading for the door.

"True but they don't have your sniffing skills. And also, Sylvia is probably already out of town. The next train comes in a couple of hours." The chihuahua said.

I walked out in frustration. I don't want to deal with a cane corso or any other dog for that matter.

I just wanna track down this damn dog and go back home to get a shot. I feel like I need one right now but being drunk on the job won't help my case. Guess I'll have to wait for the next train.

I could walk around town and see what's going on with everyone. Maybe a few friendly talks. Like that would happen.

My feet started to move somewhere. I'm not sure where I'm going but might as well go somewhere. Not like I'll get shot for no reason.

I walking into what seems to be another section of the town and it's a lot nicer than the last one I was in. This had bigger houses, not like that mattered... more wells, and even little patches of dirt with grass on them. Course the dirt wasn't there originally but it looks nice.

Tons of happy couples walking around as well, I was hoping there would be more stores.

I scan around trying to find one small store. Or even a restaurant.

That was a myth, my view was obstructed by multiple buildings so I couldn't see that far but something better caught my attention. There was some pleading and whimpering.

I head towards the noise and it takes me to an alley way with 3 dogs. 2 of them were mugging one for what doesn't seem like a lot.

"Hey!" I called out grabbing their attention and they turn towards me leaving the dog alone.

When I get a better view it's a doberman and a Rottweiler.

"Whatchu looking at?" The doberman says while taking calm step or two forwards towards me.

"It's a two on one, that doesn't seem fair does it?" I asked looking at the poor poodle that's on the floor.

I feel more bad for because of all of its hair, not her getting mugged.

"Do you plan on doing something about it?" The Rottweiler said evening himself out with the doberman.

"Let's tango..." I said before getting ready to throw some paws. I have a gun but I only use it when I need to.

They both run forward and I instantly got a right hook to my face. "Mothaf..." I turned around and swung at the doberman ultimately missing him and soon I felt the consequences of that miss.

I was pushed to the ground by the Rottweiler and soon I was getting kicked.

My body was aching all over besides my head.

I grab one of their legs in a desperate attempt to stop the beating but it doesn't go well.

Soon there was some yelling and the 2 took off.

I looked up and saw the silhouette of a strange figure.

He lifted me up and it was a man.

"Boy did you get beat up. No cuts or scratched but you got kicked a lot!" He said standing me up.

It wasn't for long because I instantly fell.

"My name is Ryder by the way." He said as he picked me up again but this time taking me somewhere.

"Where are w-we going?" I asked hoping I'm not taken to a trap.

"My house, you made a bad choice deciding to fight 2 grown dogs at once.

"Might as wellllll..." I started before things started turning black and darker and blacker and soon I was out.

When I did wake up it was in a bed feeling way better than I did yesterday. A pink dog bed.

I got up and made my way around the house to find Ryder I thinking his name was and a cockapoo and I think her boyfriend which was a golden retriever.

"Oh, you're awake. Those 3 days must've felt nice then." Ryder said

"What!" I blurted out loud. The train was my only option. I needed to get her.

"When's the next train?" I asked hoping to get a good enough answer although hope a dim.

"Tomorrow." The golden retriever said finishing up his food causing me to want food.

"You hungry?" Ryder asked almost like he read my mind.

I nodded my head and he poorer out a lot of food. I wasn't gonna complain because I could basically eat a whole cow.

"Boy you were hungry." Ryder said.

I ignored him and continued on eating my food. It has never tasted this delicious.

After I was done my stomach was satisfied and I officially had to wait a day for the train.

I didn't bother on wanting to get the names of the 2 others dogs in here. All that mattered was the train and it's not even here.

The next day

I was inside the house when the train horns blasted out loud.

"Thank you for letting me stay." I said walking towards the door.

"Good luck on your bounty." Ryder said

"How did you know?" I asked

"I saw the paper." He winked.

I walked out and instantly ran to the beginning of where the town starts. Then there would be the train.

People flooded into the carts and I wanted my own privacy. They were more aggressive this time with trying to get in. They were shoving and pushing. I put my eyes on a suspicious group of dogs and scanned for a cart I that can get into with just myself.

I spotted one near the end and ran towards it. I hopped on before the usual...

"ALLL ABOARD!!!" The conductor yelled out almost on queue and honked the horn.

Soon steam from the train head shot out and we slowly began to pick up speed. The next town would be my stop. Hopefully she would still be there. If not I was in some trouble. Who knows what awaits me next but hopefully it's good.

I closed my eyes trying to sleep like the last time but something bothered me. I pushed it off and closed my eyes.

All of a sudden I felt cloth go over my head an restrained me from breathing. I put my paws to my back and started to feel the attackers face and went for the weakest possible spot.

The eyes

I ripped of the bag and soon felt 3 punches go into my stomach.

It was the 2 dogs I ran into with a... cane corso. There was also a husky.

I managed to get myself a tiny bit of space before weighing my options.

I saw that the cart door was open so I took my chance and ran outside.

The wind him me like a... train. The 4 followed me so I continued to run down the narrow side of each cart.

The big corso was in the front which slowed them down because of his bigger body.

I climbed up a nearby ladder and got myself to the top of the carts. They had the same idea and soon I faced my 4 attackers.

"Who are you?!" I yelled hoping my voice could travel through the sharp winds.

"You demise." The doberman said

"You shouldn't have messed with us." The Rottweiler added.

"That bounty is mine!" The cane corso said in a scarily deep voice.

They started to advance forwards towards me. I only had 4 more carts to run before and i'm out of running space.

We were in the middle of the hot dessert, stuck on a train, it's a 4 to 1 fight and I have nowhere to go. I like those odds.

"Look, maybe we could work something out." I said reaching for my pistol.

I soon realized it wasn't there. It must've fell in the cart. I'm not likening these odds anymore.

Soon the husky through the first punch and the chase was on. HeHe.

I used one of my carts before turning around in a desperate attempt to push of the closest one but only got so close before the others soon caught up.

I threw a right hook hitting the husky and it fell the the ground.

The doberman and Rottweiler ran at me. I jumped towards the cane corso as the 2 others collided with each other and were dazed.

The corso didn't move.

He picked me up and sent me the a cart farther down. It seemed like the husky was down for the count.

I saw the city in the distance. Looked like a castle type of thing.

Maybe if I can get the doberman and Rottweiler off the train I can out maneuver the big corso. Question is, is how.

They were still regaining their thoughts and

BAM

I was slapped in the face by the corso as I was lost in my thoughts. I felt light headed after that hit. I didn't have the composure to get up just yet.

I was still on the ground when I saw the doberman leap towards me.

I raised up my paws like a cat could do when it's in defense mode. I felt his weight push down on me and I pushed it back up and I heard him yell before going off the train.

The Rottweiler and corso weren't to happy about it. As if god wanted me to make it off this train alive I was saved yet again.

I didn't get to see my savior this time as for it was a vulture. It went head first into the corso causing him to stumble off the train and take the doberman with him.

The husky was still there. I'm that's probably what the bird wanted but since we're on a train it probably didn't time the landing correct. I thought about throwing him off but I didn't want to commit a murder so I left him up there.

I bursted into people's carts trying to find mine.

When I did find it I saw a small pup maybe 6 months old carrying my gun with my hat on the floor. I picked it up and put it on. He turned around and pointed it at me.

"Whoah Whoah Whoah, that's mine young man." I said trying to get the gun away from my face.

"Oh, sorry." He said dropping the gun.

I watched in slow motion as the gun slowly made its way to the floor.

When it made contact it let out a bullet pointed towards me.

Time caught up and I felt my body and I was fine. I looked at the kid and he was fine. I did lose on thing though.

I took off my hat and noticed a hole going straight through the bill of the hat.

I rushed for my gun before it could cause anymore harm.

I put it in my holster and turned the hat backwards and thought to myself "it doesn't look that bad." Deep down inside I know it does.

"Sorry." The child said with a cute little face and moving his fee- what am I talking about?!?

"Leave please" I said as I watched him listen and exit my cart.

I let out a sigh of relief and disbelief that I survived throughout that. I'm testing my luck with the fine like between life and death.

My luck just needs to hold out a bit longer. Just to catch the bounty and make it back home. Now there can't be any more things in my way. The other hunters are gone which means smooth sailing.

I looked outside and watching as the train got closer to the odd looking town castle city thing.

The train stopped in front of the walled off city. It's massive stone walls were impressive but no one was gonna invade it. We don't live in ancient times.

I jumped out with multiple others as some others entered. I got bumped and pushed trying to find my out through the inpatient crowd.

Finally I was through and I noticed guards guarding the castle.

This place really was odd. No way they were tired from standing there in that armor.

I followed a group of visitors as they let us through into the place. It was surprisingly big. Maybe because the houses were very close together. I watched some street cats fight over a dead fish. How did a fish get here...

This place was nicer than usual, it had tree and a pond which is the fish probably came from. People were wearing unusual clothing for the dessert. I didn't judge their customs. My main goal was to find the police station for information.

Good thing it's in the front of the entrance, the other place was confusing.

I walked in and was met by the desk attendee.

"I have a couple of questions for a bounty." I asked him.

He pointed to a wooden door with the word "sheriff" on it.

I walked towards it and was gonna knock but the door had already opened before I could get the chance to.

"Come in." He said

I obliged and walked in and sat on the hard wooden chair.

"So what do ya need?" He asked putting a cigar out and reaching for a new one. His lungs won't be looking well in the future.

"I'm looking for a grey and white German Shepard. A bandit if you would like to put it. I'm 2 towns down from here." I explained hoping he has information.

"Yep, we've gotten reports of missing items and they all lead to her, all the victims were males. She's using her beauty to get her way with them. We've increased security on our vaults. Our guards won't let her out." He said telling me her ways.

"So, having these is a giveaway." I said looking at my vest and gun." As he nodded. "Anywhere I could put them?" I asked

"We have a new design, we call them lockers. You put your items in and they should be safe." He said looking impressed. I get the concept but it's a metal box.

I threw them in since they weren't much to look at and steal. I made my way out and started to walk around town. For clues or to use myself as bait. If she was smart she would strike at night.

Hopefully she hides in plain sight. I know what she looks like and grey dogs don't come around often. I just need to look normal.

I can go house hopping for a place to sleep. I'm on her tail.

Although things seemed good, how would I get home? There's no one way back. Maybe I have to get back in horseback.

It's been a week of house hopping and walking around. There's still no sign of her. Until I hit gold. I think. I grab my rope and something catches my ear.

I hear a very feminine voice and a male talking somewhere. I try my best to listen in.

"Come on, drink some more, don't you wanna impress me?" The girl asked in almost a disappointing voice.

I hear the man burp before speaking again and chugging more beer I'm assuming. This must be her. She probably gets them drunk before striking. I need to follow them.

I climb the wall as silently as possible. I jump onto a roof and look down on the conversation.

It's her...

She looks prettier in real life that the picture.

I shake the thoughts from my head and look at the bulldog getting played in front of me.

She gives him a hug and I noticed her paw reach for the unsuspecting bulldogs wallet.

Just like that she has his wallet and she ends their conversations right there and walks away.

This is my time to strike. I have the jump and height on her.

There could be no other better opportunity that the one right in front of me.

I plan my attack before I set it into action.

I sent myself off and dropped onto her side because I don't want to break her back.

We both role over and she lands on top of me.

She grunts before punching my face and taking off.

I shake of the punch and chase after her. I've been through that so many times already.

I was gaining on her. I hoped to god my rope didn't get caught on anything as we ran.

She dodged and weaved through couples and families as I did the same. She turned into an alley way.

Luckily with a dead end.

She tried to juke me and it end in me tackling her down and pinning her.

She's not giving up though as she wriggles and turns. It has not effect though because by that time I already have her paws tied down and at my will. I pick her up and make my way towards the sheriff station.

"You can't do this to me." She said

"Why can't i?" I asked

"Because, if he gets me again that'll be my end." She lied.

"The chihuahua? Like he's gonna do you any harm. Plus you have a fine.."

She growls at what I was about to say.

"Calm it missy, I was gonna said reward above your head." I finished. I felt odd doing this. Like it was wrong. She clearly was pretty and I could only dream of her being mine but I can't force love so might as well get paid.

"What do you want? I could give you double the reward." She offered.

"I'm fine with the original." I refused. "Not like you can give me anything." I added seeing what I can get out of her.

"Why are you doing this? You don't have anything Better to do like a wife or something?" She asked trying to get into my head I assumed.

"Nope, this is actually the best thing I could be doing right now." I replied.

By this time I was getting close to the station.

"Look, they won't let you leave with me." She said

"Why not?" I asked

"They are gonna back stab you and throw me in a prison cell, that's what happened to the last guy." She explained

"Umm, I doubt that." I said looking at the station. "So why aren't you in a cell?" I asked

"I did what I had to." She said with a huff.

I walked in and was met with the sheriff with an evil grin.

"Here you go chase, now you will be giving me that rat of a dog." He said handing me my gun, holster, and vest.

She was right... I had to play this smart.

She looked at me in the eyes with a cocky grin.

"Can I get a horse first? To get back home?" I asked

He nodded in annoyance I think with the look on his face as he led me outside to a stable with multiple horse.

I picked a black one and thought of my next move. It was a risky one.

I untied Sylvia hoping she would get the memo. Which she did.

"Now hand her over." The Chief asked.

I shot his foot and jumped onto the horse with Sylvia and rode out of the castle.

On the way out I saw the gang of 4 I encountered earlier in front of us. I didn't know their plan but it didn't look like it was gonna work.

I sped past them and heard Sylvia yelp.

I saw the doberman and Rottweiler handing onto her legs slowly pulling her off the horse.

I grabbed her and pulled her closer to me.

She put on arm around me and used the other to punch them.

I pushed my hat lower just in case it fell off.

The attackers were off and it seemed like we were home free.

Besides a single cane corso behind us with a face of vengeance.

My luck had seem to fade as his horse was gaining on ours.

Maybe it could because we are a probably heavier combined but if he catches us I don't have another option besides my gun. If I kill him they are gonna find out it was me. They always find out. I'm gonna be an... outlaw.

"He's getting closer and we aren't going anywhere!" Sylvia yelled

The horse ran down the train tracks taking back to the previous towns, we would need to camp out and hangout in an oasis.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked back hoping she had a good solution.

"Shoot him god damnit." She said looking at my holster.

"I can't be an outlaw, it never ends well." I said to her thinking of the harsh outlaw world.

"Really? We are gonna get caught by a miniature bear and your thinking about that?" She scolded me.

"Hey, I wanna live in peace on running." I explained

Soon she was yanked of my horse by a rope. I sighed in relief as I didn't have him after me but when I turned around he was still coming for me.

I started to make a wide turn back towards Sylvia but time caught up with my and my luck was out. All I had was my gun.

I went head first into the sand with my horse.

I rushed up to see if the horse was okay, I don't feel like walking to the next town.

It seemed fine.

I pulled out my gun and tried to spot the big dog in the dust cloud but he wasn't to be found.

The dust settle and he was pushing his horse off of him.

I cocked my gun and held it to his head.

"I wouldn't take another step my friend..." I said looking at him struggle.

"Or what?" He asked me continuing to struggle.

"I'll pull this trigger, Skye me and Sylvia are gonna leave and if you follow you'll be seeing hell instead of us. Aight?" I said going to go get Sylvia who was already on her feet.

"Come on." I said

She huffed as we walked to our horse and hopped on.

The corso just watched as we rode away.

"Wow, that was close." I said out loud.

"It was, although, I don't think we'd make a bad duo in crime." Sylvia said giving a wink hinting towards what I'm thinking.

"I don't think being an outlaw isn't that bad anymore..." I said back with a sly grin on my face.

In the distance we saw a train with the usual supplies, but one was a tad bit different. Almost like a vault.

"Ever rob a train before?" Sylvia asked looking at the train.

"We could start there." I responded.

And that a wrap, it's almost 1AM every time I write so the errors will be clearly visable. Yeah, hopefully I can write a Halloween chapter before Halloween is here. Anyways hope ye enjoyed and like the last chapter those same ships will be the only ships available for the time being.
