The damn dentist gives me anxiety, going to get a second opinion on Saturday. If they say the same, then I have no idea how ill be feeling this weekend.

Instead of waiting for that, I'm posting this now.

Traumatic events stick with people longer than typical moments in their lives, after one, people experience flashbacks, nightmares, unwanted memories, and even receive distress from reminders. These ingrained memories aren't easy to forget and it has nothing to do with them being horrible. Truth is, your body releases chemical hormones when experiencing stress, these hormones enhance memory either as a by-product or more likely an evolutionary trait increasing the chances you avoid those stressful situations.

Not everyone could appreciate those benefits, for Taylor woke up to darkness. Having had her emotions in check due to magic the previous day, she had prevented the necessity of dealing with the trauma. Her eyes were wide as the world shifted, no longer was she in the darkness of her room, Her mind had gone back to the locker. Her emotions resurfaced with everything from that, fear and hopelessness. Bugs crawled her skin, voices mocked her, and something held her in place. Taylor screamed.

...

Danny Hebert awoke to his daughter's frantic screams, he stumbled out of bed and rushed towards her room, there had been enough light shining this early, making navigation possible even while drowsy.

Opening the door his heart sank, his daughter wasn't just having a bad dream, It was closer to seeing someone trying to defend themselves from an attacker. Screaming loudly, she continued to fling her arms outwards, best he could tell she was desperate to remove her bed sheets as if they were hurting her.

He quickly made his way to her bed and did his best to avoid her hands, hoping that it would calm her down, he yanked the blanket off her. Seeing her hesitate for a moment, he closed in and hugged her.

"Taylor, Taylor I'm here. Calm down"

To his relief, she stops moving, but her screams turn to tears. He was awkward, he had no idea what to do but wanted to help her.

"Taylor," he said in a gentle voice "it's ok now, tell me what's happening" Still, she didn't respond, all he could do was keep trying while staying by her side. It took 30 minutes but he had calmed her enough that she slowly faded back to sleep, he just stayed by her side unsure of what was going on. "If Annette was here, she would have known exactly what to do". He didn't say it but felt useless without her.

Time passed and it was past 8 when the phone rang downstairs, he hoped it wasn't someone from the docks association calling to ask why he wasn't there yet. Making his way to the living room phone he answered, his mind was already prepping excuses for his secretary when they spoke. "Hello is this Danny Herbert", the female asked.

"Yes, who is this" he recognized the voice, but it was definitely not his secretary. Not if the scorn in it was anything to go by.

"Ahh Mr. Hebert good,I'm Mrs Blackwell"

" I'm the principal in Winslow, I'm calling cause your daughter yesterday vandalized one of our school lockers, we ..".

"Wait what, my daughter wouldn't do that"

"Mr. Hebert" sounding irritated by his interruption. "Your daughter has been causing problems all year, today we found out she filled her locker full of used female products and other waste. I'm told by some students she even locked herself in with them yesterday in order to gain attention. I also have her teachers reporting she skipped all classes yesterday". This can't be real, Taylor, his Taylor wouldn't do that. It didn't make sense. "Your daughter also failed to show up to her first-period class today"

In a feeble voice, he lied "ahh, yes. She wasn't feeling good this morning…I planned to take her to the doctor".

"I see". He could tell that she didn't believe him "well, I will need to see both of you tomorrow in my office before class, we cannot have this happening in my school".

He just agreed absent-mindedly before hanging up, this wasn't right. Was Taylor really acting up, then why is she crying? She looked so happy last night. In hindsight, it was the happiest he had seen her in a while, something he tried not to think about too much.

Knock. Knock.

"What now" making his way to his door, he expected some worse news to follow his current trend. Instead, he found nothing or so he thought until the air spoke."You must be Taylor's father, it's good to meet you" the air said in a formal fashion.

This, this was too much. He had been subconsciously avoiding everything around him when it came to his home life. Putting his all at the docks in a desperate attempt to move on from his wife's passing. It wasn't healthy, even he was aware of that, but till now it was working.

His daughter's state had been shocking, he had just seen Taylor yesterday, and she had even smiled at him when coming home. So why was she acting out this morning, why was the school saying she was damaging school property, why was a voice from thin air calling out to him?

"I …I can't"

He just closed the door, standing still and trying to figure out what was going on. A part of him desperately hoped the last hour was just a dream, he would wake up and find his daughter fine, and they would go back to dealing with Annette's death in their own ways.

"I apologize if I scared you," the voice said once more behind him as if his hopes mattered little. Quickly turning around he found a ten-foot-robed and masked stranger. "It seems, staying invisible to avoid your neighbors' sight, wasn't a great idea". Now visible, he found a tall figure with a grinning mask looming over his scrawny self. Alarmed, he tried to move back, only for his legs to give out, landing on his rear.

A villainous cape breaking into your home had multiple possibilities, Danny knew them. Most Brocktinites would, best case scenario they would steal your valuables before leaving you bruised, in the worst case, they would kill you, and if the capes belong to the abb, well best not talk about that.

Staring up, what he found wasn't a gloating villain or one preparing to hurt him more, he just found a large gloved hand reaching out towards him. He understood the gesture, but this didn't make sense

"What, what are you doing " he felt this was a perfectly reasonable thing to ask at this point.

The cape, just tilted his head, as if the answer should be so obvious he couldn't believe he had been asked. Danny could understand that in any normal situation, it would be considered a kind gesture to help someone who fell, heck he would be reacting the same, had he tried to help someone only for them to ask that.

Yes, Danny understood that, it made perfect sense, in a normal situation. A 10-foot strange cape, who broke into your home then proceeded to act like that hadn't happened, seemed confused by your reluctance to grab said strange cape's hand, now that Danny felt was not normal.

Ignoring the hand, he picked himself up. Somewhat unsure he wasn't in danger decided to speak up. " Why are you in my home, who are you, why are you doing this to me" not his best moment but the figure was too intimidating to think straight." If you want money, I don't have much".

The robed man seemed to chuckle at his plea. "I'm not here for such petty things like robbery, I had assumed Taylor would have mentioned me yesterday, and now I feel foolish for my actions." even as he said this, he didn't sound sorry " my name is Ainz Ooal Gown and in truth, I'm here because.." A loud sob interrupted his explanation, both men looked up toward the source.

"Taylor" he was now worried, had something happened, was this Ainz not alone? He wanted to run straight up, but he was worried about angering the cape.

Unseen to Danny, Ainz had an equally worried expression, his Hanzo had alerted him of Taylor's distress but wasn't clear why. Figuring out Danny's hesitation was do to him, he decided to speak, " Your daughter needs you, I'll wait here for now". It was a lie, but it would hopefully convince Danny to move.

He had no reason to trust the cape, but his desire to check on Taylor won over sense. Taking off, Danny rushed to his daughter's room "Taylor. Taylor calm down. He found her curled up weeping, "Taylor, Taylor, I'm here". She didn't respond to him, she just curled into herself more. He felt once more useless, he shouldn't be the one here, it should have been Annette.

"Ahh, I was worried something like this would happen " Turning to find the stranger at the doorway, Danny's anger rose.

"What did you say, what did you do to my daughter"

Ainz just ignored him and walked through Danny to Taylor's bedside. To this, Taylor finally reacted, she looked at Ainz, "I don't want to die', please save me" she felt stuck once more, would Ainz pull her out again or would he abandon her like everyone else had, like Emma, like her mom, like her dad?

Reaching out his hand, Ainz spoke regally "Did we not make a deal, I will help you become a hero, I swore this in the name of Ainz Ooal Gown. Now Taylor, reach and pull yourself out, and prove to me you are worthy of the title".

Those words brought memories of their conversation. He had saved her yesterday, she wasn't trapped, she wasn't in the locker, and she was going to be a hero. Slowly she reached out to Ainz and he helped her sit up. "Good" he seemed pleased, "Now I'm going to cast my spell, it shall help but you will need to work your way past these memories, do not ignore them and do not hide from them".

She just nodded as he did. With a glow, she was once more calm and collected, her fears were gone. "Please don't ignore them just because you feel better, this Is a crutch to help, but I won't be casting anymore till you work through this". Waiting once more, he only turned around once Taylor agreed.

Danny had just stared dumbly at everything, he had tried to pull back the man, but nothing he did even slowed him down. Now his daughter looked better and he wasn't sure whether to be thankful or scared by it. "Please follow me downstairs Mr. Hebert, I'm sure you have some questions and we should give your daughter some time"

Looking at his daughter, she only said "Thanks dad, but I need some time". Unsure of what was going on, he followed Ainz downstairs.

The two just stared at each other in the living room, Danny had long since been unsure of the situation and feared finding out. Ainz wasn't sure himself but thought that Taylor's father would need to know. " Mr. Hebert, your daughter gained powers yesterday, those powers are why I exist".

'Shit, did I break him' Ainz had tried to be clear and simplify the problem, but instead of a response. Taylor's dad just fell back on the couch. 'Oh, he is just stunned not dead, good'

Looking up, worn-out eyes looked into Ainz. "ha, so powers. Taylor has power. Fuck, Fuck Fuck. Ohh god why, why." the brief moment of anger died out, and he just looked defeated to Ainz, It was a bit sad to see.

It took a while, but eventually, Danny spoke "Your her power" he received a nod," do you know what happens, what is happening to my Owl? You said she triggered yesterday and the school is calling about a locker" Even with the mask, he could tell the thing twitched from the word locker. " you know, you know don't you.I..I need to know what's going on".

Ainz moaned internally, he didn't think he would have to explain everything. He now knew more information than Taylor was likely comfortable with and by how little Danny knows, more than she would want him to say. Taking a seat himself, Ainz spoke about how he found her, how he witnessed the other kids' reactions and explained that Taylor's power was keeping him alive in this reality while he dodged talking about himself. Danny's reactions fluctuated from confusion to anger, to despair, ending back in confusion.

Ten in the morning Yesterday, January 15th, a worldwide phenomenon occurred, precogs experience something disappearing in their perspective as if a portion of their abilities was blocked. While the feeling seemed to increase based on precognition ability, none could figure out why.

A figure wearing a fedora and suit quickly made her way through clean white halls. Things had changed drastically, for the first time since gaining her power she displayed a worried expression not fabricated through her power. Slamming the door open, she found Doctor mother, scribbling down data on ongoing experiments. This, she could predict and plan for, that was still like it should be. In order, Doctor mother would look up, raise an eyebrow at her interruption, and show slight concern seeing her expression. Next, she would ask, "What's happened " accurately coming to the conclusion something must have gone wrong.

Not wasting any time she spoke, "since yesterday, Brockton bay has disappeared from my predictions".

"Could it be him" him being the second entity, Scion.

Shaking her head, in a clear message of disagreement. "All paths not related to Brockton bay stay the same, I can only assume a new trigger is directly counteracting my predictions. It seems to only grow the further in the future I try to predict"

Doctor mother just nodded "Possibly, I'll have Alexandria look into it, this could become an asset or problem, depending on who else it affects". If this new power worked on the endbringers, such as the Simurgh, or better scion then they could have them placed in another world till they were needed, if not it can be eliminated. She just did her best to ignore the dark feeling she gain when she thought about the second option.

An unholy mockery of an angel drifted through space. Anyone watching would be confused as the seemingly untouchable monster was regenerating the loss of a wing and partial burns throughout her body. At 10 am yesterday, she suddenly exploded, while not fatal, it had been enough to cancel her next attack. Since then, the new unknown variable has caused parts of the future to become unpredictable, even to her sight..

I feel bad that my next chapter will just be more talking, which is why I added Ainz's unintended effects. If you're wondering, Ainz has a ring of protection against divination and user statutes ( no name). In the game, this is just spying, but in life, divination is knowledge of the future. The wording/ text has been shown to be import beyond game mechanics

For why only the Simurgh got damaged, well ainz has only one spell charged at a time (or it seems as it since he can change the type of spell) it focused on the most powerful scryer. Ainz himself hasn't noticed since its activation happened at the same time as finding himself in a new world (plus ainz would be killing everyone if he kept on activating it, I'm looking at you little dinah)

Lastly, Danny is a horrible father. Some Fanfics try to make him better, but in Cannon, he let his daughter go back to school after being hospitalized, avoided her, and knew from her first outing that she was going out at night but decided to pretend it didn't happen.

He probably gets better I guess, but up to where I read he was pretty bad.

For those who like my plot idea so far, please read Cazador. It's a fallout x worm crossover and it's where I first found a mentor like fic, instead of just giving Taylor powers.

Reviews

Jlnorris75-yea sophia got what she deserved, who knows, maybe it will happen later on.

InHuman- glad you liked the change.

Ravenous- Im trying to avoid having ainz build up undead, he just has nowhere to place them unless he needs to protect territory. In a villain route, I would definitely see him building hordes of capes. but as a sorta hero, he won't need them and can't show them. I was planning on making them only strong based on cape powers, so he would only transform strong undead and unlike summons won't disappear ( pretty sure regular corpses can only make death knights cause ainz would be spamming high-level undead if he could).

Draco0905- don't worry, I didn't take your words as complaints. I'm new at this and no one so far has given bad advice or rude comments. For the change, it was you and INHuman, and felt you guys were right so I changed it. I'll change things Only if I agree and won't go past the last chapter to avoid getting stuck fixing things. I'll take any future ideas, I honestly started this in hope of getting someone else to write such a crossover.

Dean Hunter- Yup, papa bones to the bones. I don't plan to have him use undead. but he is like ten in all categories.
