I'm just gonna make sure everyone gets the double check and these one shots are possible story ideas. Like this one. I don't think I could've made this a good story so i made it a oneshot. I am cutting things from the full story idea so it's not too long. Don't expect a new one to be out too soon. I'm deciding whether to make a different story idea a one shot or actual story... There's more I wanna address but I'll do it at the bottom. Also I'm adding this after it's posted, most of my oneshots will probably continue to be like this where it's a dystopian like story. I will try to make more down to earth if you know what I mean, from now on they'll be in usually f'd up realities.
Adventure bay used to be a small coastal city. Now it is one of the largest cities in the U.S. But it took time. Now 80 years later the State of California, Texas, New York, and Florida are overwhelmed with people. Every other state is growing increasingly as well. The streets are constantly filled and small neighborhoods were no longer considered small. As action every world power agreed to find a way to force natural selection. Weapons of all kinds were banned from this once in a decade event. Root out the good from the bad, the healthy from unhealthy.
Hide n seek... with twist. You are assigned either Red or Blue. Red are the seekers and Blue are the hiders. The way to know what color you are is by a letter. Children under the age of 13 and pregnant women are free from the torture. For that year. Once you participate you can be let free and never have to go through it again. But this is the first time this is happening so it's a world wide event... for the governments of the world it's a different story. They get to sit on top watching as their people ruin each other.
The way the game works is simple really. If you're a hider don't get caught. If you get caught you'll burn up into ashes. If you're a seeker you have to find someone. If you don't find someone you'll die by burning up into ashes. This will last for 3 days. Just one touch can ruin your life or someone else's life. Oh and people in the same family can't tag each other and dogs can only tag dogs and humans can only tag humans. Once a seeker got someone they needed to head to a neutral zone so they could officially be done with the games.
International panic was about to start. Loud towers blasted the horn into the air out of nowhere. It could deafen people with sensitive ears.
On the streets of adventure bay were all kinds of people. They all looked down at their black wristbands. Slowly they all started to turn. In the chaos was a Dalmatian. He looked down to see that his wrist band was turning.
All at once people around him started to fall and run. The ones that were falling were the unlucky few that got put next to a seeker. Our Dalmatian, Marshall panicked. Everywhere he looked was chaos. His first thought was to try to head Midland for the next three days. It was generally less populated than California's coast. He didn't see any dogs nearby. He walked over dead bodies slowly. He still saw people running and chasing but it felt like slow motion. The people he was 10ft away from are just gone. Then it hit him. He didn't have very many family members. But it made up in having two best friends. Rocky and Skye. He could see in the hands of a human was a leash. On that leash was a chihuahua. He had a red band and was mourning his owner. Marshall gasped. He could see the bodies start to turn to ash and the coastal breeze lifted them up. He was confused how this was all happening.
The chihuahua spotted Marshall. He growled in anger and sadness as he started sprinting towards Marshall.
Marshall turned and started to head back home. He knew a short cut but that would only get him killed as for it required a couple tight spaces that he has to squeeze through. The chihuahua would easily skip through them.
He turned around and he was getting farther but the chihuahua didn't seem tired at all. He watched as groups of people sat in circles. They were probably all seekers since they were out in the open. Some eyes looked at Marshall run away from imminent death. He had to run until his will power stopped. Step one is run and step two is go see if his only friends are okay.
Out in the mountains was a Husky and her owner. The loud sirens ripped the air apart. They nervously looked to each other for comfort. They had both received hider. Unluckily they were the owner and co owner of "Jake's Ski Resort"
They both ducked under the desk. "The safety box go!" Jake whispered.
Everest slid into a small compartment under the front desk. Jake did the same.
They had peep holes to look too. They watched as people with blue wrist bands sprinted into as they were chased by red wrist bands. Most of the blue bands weren't too fortunate. Everest covered her muzzle as dead people started to pile up in the doorway. She looked away, she couldn't bare to watch anymore.
Something told her she should.
She looked back towards the doorway and it started to slow down. Down the mountain was yelling that could be heard from the peak of the mountain.
Jake and Everest both knew what was going to inevitably happen.
The mountain started to shake. It was an avalanche.
Everest watched as three of her friends walk in. It was gasket, Dwayne, and hubcap. She could see that hubcap and Dwayne had a blue wristband. Gasket had a red one. "Everest! Are you still there!?!" Gasket called out.
Jake was going to stop her but it was too late. Everest already revealed herself. "I'm so glad you guys are okay!" She exclaimed.
Dwayne and hubcap gave her a hug... "you can let go now." Everest said.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way." Gasket said from behind her.
"Wah-wah- what are you guys doing?" Everest asked nervously.
"Hold her!" Gasket yelled. She carefully approached Everest to make sure she didn't touch her friends.
Everest spun herself around taking hubcap with her.
In an instant hubcap was on the floor. He laid there with his eyes open rasping for air. "Hubcap! HUBCAAAAP!" Gasket yelled as she shook his dying body.
Gasket jumped at Everest tackling her to the ground. "What!" She exclaimed looking at her paws.
Once you tag someone you can't go and tag more people. It was to prevent mass murder.
Dwayne picked up hubcap and took his body outside to give him a proper burial.
Everest and Gasket watched as the first bodies in the doorway turned to ashes. Everest rushed to the edge of the mountain and saw people grouping up at the top. Not one dog was to be seen from her view. It was extremely good news for the husky. Bad news for Jake. "Jake! You aren't safe here. We need to take you somewhere where else." Everest said.
"Alright. Me and you only. We have to go quickly. We can ski down the side that isn't allowed." Jake suggested.
They both started to prepare for the next 3 days. They had to pack light so if they do get spotted they could run like hell.
A former officer felt bad for what he was helping doing the past three days. Although he wasn't free from the madness he helped create it. He helped build the camps for the people who already caught someone. He wasn't sure when exactly the game of hide and seek was going to start since they have been building the camps for years all around the U.S.
"Hey officer Chase! Ready for a great day of work in this horrid country?" His partner in crime said.
"Yep, let me go get my hat." Chase said as he walked into a back room.
While searching through his locker loud sirens could be heard from everywhere. Everyone knew what the sirens meant. Chase looked down and saw his wrist band turn crimson red. He heard a shriek stop in its place.
He ran outside to see his partner on the ground gasping for air. "Sylvia? Sylvia! This isn't the time for your unfunny games! I need to up right now!" Chase said trying to move his quickly dying friend.
She closed her eyes and soon she was completely limp. Outside was a ton of yelling. Chase looked down at his color. He knew he was going to have a hard time. Life in the city was difficult for dogs. That's why most took towards the mainland USA where farming was.. Chase got out of the building. He needs to stick to one dog only to catch.
He knew there was a neighborhood with some dogs. He had ran into a couple of them. Dalmatians, cockapoos, ones he can't describe, etc.
Chase exited through the back. He tried to block out the yelling of dying victims. He decided to start searching for any hiding pups. Specifically houses.
20 minutes later.
Chase kicked down his tenth down door. When he arrived at a house with white walls and brown roof he could hear aggressive thumping and springs springing. Chase pushed open the unlocked door silently.
He walked straight towards a hallway and on the left there was a slightly opened door. He peaked through it and saw a cockapoo doing it with a mix breed.
Chase quickly looked away. He walked out of the house and tried to erase the image from his mind.
Across the street was a Dalmatian staring right at Chase. "Um... are my friends in there?" He asked. He knew his time was up. He didn't know where the chihuahua was but now he had this guy to deal with.
"Unless you want to watch them doggy then yeah..." Chase replied.
"What?" Marshall said a defeated tone. "Are you for r-real?" Asked.
"Yeah, well... you know the drill." Chase said as he stepped towards Marshall.
"L-l-l-look, I can help you find other pups in three days! Just spare me. We can go to jake's cabin, a pet parlor, all kinds of other spots! Just let me live!" Marshall pleaded.
Chase felt bad. He didn't want to kill anyone that was begging for their life. I didn't want them to know who their killer was.
"Fine, I have a squad car, you better not be lying about this." Chase replied.
Marshall let out a sigh of relief. He followed Chase back to the police station. In the sky were ashes of the fallen victims. "So... how was your start?" Marshall asked.
"Horrible, I watched my partner die and now I have to go ruin someone's life." Chase sighed.
"How do you know you'll find someone?" Marshall asked.
"I'm not sure, I just passed up two and now I have you. Don't worry you're fine." Chase assured.
Marshall looked out the window. He wondered why he wasn't scared of the German Shepherd. His eyes were calm and he didn't seem like the kind to backstab you.
Chase didn't want to touch the Dalmatian. He seemed friendly. He needs a friend right now. His only friend just died 50 minutes ago. The Dalmatian was easy to talk to for some reason.
"So, when we get into the car you're going sit in the back. I don't wanna accidentally touch you ya know." Chase said.
Marshall nodded.
"AAAAAAL RIGHT! We will start the hunt today! Celebrate the blood fest!" An old man yelled.
The crowd of 50 or so people and dogs cheered. Among them were two unlikely friends. A chocolate lab and bulldog. "Dude, hopefully they can help us out." The lab said.
"Yeah, I'm not a runner at all." Rubble replied.
"Don't wowry bwo, you'll be okay. I can help you out." The lab said.
"First! We'll surround jakes mountain! Get whoever we find there, then head towards the coast! Millions of blues have to be there!" The old man said, holding up a map.
The crowd cheered on.
The man handed the map to a navigator who led the crowd. "You can walk it right? We're in the middle of the woods close enough." Zuma asked.
"Yeah definitely." Rubble replied.
Everest and Jake were down the mountain in no time. Nobody was to be seen. "Perks to banning this side." Carlos said, trying to bring up the mood.
"Yup! Now we have to get away from here. Katie and Ryder can definitely help up out." Everest said as they walked through the dirty snow. They let off some jackets since it was warmer down at the bottom.
"Okay, we aren't too far from their town. We just need to avoid everything." Jake said.
Luckily they were both good at walking or running long distances. Naturally and Genetically.
"Time for the first hunt!" The leader yelled.
In front of them were 6 cabins all boarded up.
They started to punch the wood with their bare hands. The dogs in the back watched and waited for a dog to hopefully sprint out so they could get them.
"Dude this is actually sad..." Zuma said looking at the families peeking through the windows that had no chance. He could only imagine what they are feeling right now.
The other cabins started to get raided as well.
Soon after, a scream could be heard before instantly stopping. Zuma and Rubble watched out for any dogs to sprint out.
Chase and Marshall drove into some woods. They watched a huge crowd of people break into cabins. "People are really getting into it." Marshall said.
A loud pop could be heard before loud snaps. The squad car spun out. "Marshall hide under the seats quickly!" Chase ordered as tons of people ran towards the car.
Marshall rushed under the seat and slid open a compartment that was meant for guns. He closed it back up and tried to listen to the conversation.
Chase regained full consciousness and held up his paws. "I'm a seeker! you idiots!" Chase yelled and the crowd stopped.
"Then join us! We are going to go hunt at jake's cabin then head towards the city!" He suggested.
"No! I'm trying to find some family members to see if they are okay!" Chase lied. Everyone in his family was dead or captured as prisoners of war. Besides one. "Suit yourself!" The man said.
"Okay! I'm gonna sit in here for a little bit, I got a little headache." Chase said, trying to get them to leave.
He looked forward and saw a wiener dog and white terrier get chased down by at least 10 dogs. They were captured soon after by a greyhound and a golden lab.
"Just wait in there for a little bit longer. They are starting to leave." Chase said to Marshall. He searched his glove compartment for a water bottle he left in there.
After a solid 5 minutes the cost seemed to be clear. "Come we need to hurry." Chase said as he got out and looked around the area.
They were fairly close to the mountain. The road they were on would take them to the backside of the mountain. Chase watched Marshall walk out. "We're good?" Marshall asked.
"Yep." Chase though.
In some bushes were 4 eyes watching them.
"Jake, what if we don't make it? What if some random dogs or humans come and just snatch you like that." Everest asked.
"It won't happen, let's just keep going." Jake said, trying to ignore her gloomy statement.
Inside of a pet parlor the owners boarded up their windows and grabbed sharpened wooden poles. Behind them were a collection of hiders. "Okay, we have more than enough food and water." Ryder said as him and his wife sat behind their beloved counter.
"Yup, I hope Carlos and Jake are doing well." Katie said.
"I hope so too." Ryder agreed.
"How is everyone doing back there?" Ryder whispered.
They all either nodded or gave a thumbs up. They watched as shadows of people ran by. The shadows started to appear at an angle more and more often signaling the sun was going down.
"Are you tired?" Marshall asked
"Yeah, I don't wanna drop my guard. Losing a new friend isn't the best." Chase replied blankly.
"Can we get some shut eye in a little bit? I'm getting quite tired." Marshall yawned.
"Let's walk a little bit more until we can't see our paws." Chase said.
Marshall was fine with that.
"I never caught your name by the way." Marshall asked.
"It's Chase. What about you?" Chase replied with a question of his own.
"Marshall, I was training to become a firefighter." He said.
Okay, we can bury ourselves under the dirt." Everest said as she started to dig a hole. Once it was big enough her and Jake squeezed themselves in for the night. They tried to cover themselves up as much as they could. The wind would need to to do the rest.
In the quietness footsteps could be heard. They got louder and louder until they started to get lighter and lighter.
The next morning Everest felt Jake's arm hit her. "Good morning." Everest said grumpily.
"Sorry." He groaned.
They popped out of their hold and instantly got to walking. In the distance they could see a small black ball on the floor. As they got closer they could see that it was a dog. They weren't sure if it was dead or alive. "If you're hungry we can eat it... I know it's dark but we won't be able to eat anything else." Jake suggested.
Everest shrugged. He had to eat penguins raw in her younger years.
Jake approached the clearly noticeable German Shepherd. Jake stood above him and slowly put his hands over his neck. He hesitated for a little too long. Chase started to growl before he even opened his eyes.
He latched onto his attacker. Jake started to beat the German Shepherd with his free hand. "Get off get off get off!" He shouted and he spent Chase around.
While spinning Chase noticed Marshall was missing. "Marshall!" Chase yelled as he let go and started to sniff around.
"You! What did you do to him!" Chase angrily said as he approached Jake.
"Who?" Jake asked.
"Don't play dumb with me!" Chase replied.
Everest couldn't do much, the moment she got touched she was dead. "Hey! You want me, come and get me!" She said trying to bait him away from Jake who was bleeding from his hand.
Chase ignored her call.
"Chase!" A welcoming voice yelled.
Chase turned around to see Marshall walking out of the woods. "Oh thank god you're alive!" Chase said running over to him.
"Who are those two?" Marshall asked.
"That one tried to kill me in my sleep!" Chase replied looking towards Jake.
"I thought you were dead okay!" Jake replied.
"Look here Guy, I could touch that husky right now if I wanted to and she'd drop dead on the ground." Chase angrily replied.
Everest started to back up to get some distance.
"You do that, you'll be dead." Jake threatened.
"Look at yourself! You can't win." Chase replied.
They all stared at each other.
In some bushes were Zuma and Rubble. They weren't sure what to do. If they attacked they would clearly go for Zuma and the hiders could just avoid Rubble. "Maybe we should work with them." Rubble said.
"Do you wanna? We weally can't lose much." Zuma said seriously considering it.
"Okay, 1..2..3.. hey!" Rubble said as they jumped out of some bushes.
"Great, you two get close, you'll end up like a tough guy over here." Chase groaned.
"No actually we wanna join you, you seem like a tough group." Rubble complimented.
"Fine... you two are walking in front of me." Chase ordered.
They scurried in front of Chase and Marshall. They looked to the other two. "Are you two coming?" Marshall asked.
"Really?" Everest asked.
They both nodded.
"After I tried to kill you you're going to let us come?" Jake asked.
"Oh, by the way there's a group of seekers heading this way, they wanted to surround the mountain." Rubble said.
They all started walking.
"So, how did you and your friends meet?" Chase asked Marshall.
"You don't even know this guy and you trust him?" Everest asked the Dalmatian.
"Why not, the love of my life ended up getting with my best friend today." Marshall sighed.
"That must've sucked." Everest replied.
"I still think you have a chance, she didn't look like she was enjoying it too much." Chase added as he looked at the bulldog and lab.
"So they actually did it?" Everest asked.
"I saw them. He looked like he was trying his best but she didn't make any noises or show any expressions." Chase replied.
"My friends tried to kill me." Everest said, trying to top Marshall without hurting his feelings.
"Did your friend for 4 years die in your arms?" Chase asked.
"Uhh no... why?" Everest asked.
"Mine did." He replied in a monotone voice.
"That must've sucked. How did you two meet?" Everest asked.
"Well right after he saw my friends doing it I was across the street about to walk in. Kinda saved me some time." Marshall joked.
Everest still stood far from Chase. Jake was ready to jump on any of them.
"So, what's your plan on tagging someone?" Jake asked.
"I don't even know at this point. Everyone I meet I let go. You, Him and his friends." Chase replied with a sigh.
"When this is all over we can all hang out." Marshall suggested.
"I like that idea." Everest agreed.
Chase didn't reply.
"So where are you heading off too?" Marshall asked.
"Foggy town, foggy bottom was eaten up by adventure bay" Everest said.
"Same here!" Marshall replied excitedly.
Chase listened to the two yap on about things they have in common. Jake rotates over next to Chase.
"You and your friend here have quite the friendship. He's making an even better one with Everest." Jake started looking towards Chase.
Chase was awfully confused on what he was trying to get at.
He continued. "You don't want to try and compete for her heart?" He said.
"No, that's sick." Chase replied silently.
"Suit yourself."
"What are you going to foggy town for?" Chase asked.
"Meet up with an old friend. Maybe another one two. Him and his chihuahua are annoying though so" he shrugged.
Chase was losing the urge to talk to him. He would rather hear Marshall and Everest talk. "Look we're almost there! 3 miles till foggy town." Zuma exclaimed.
"Look like they won't be following us." Rubble added happily.
3 hours later
They all looked at a pet parlor. "This is our stop." Jake said.
"You know Ryder?" Chase asked.
"Holy shit are you his German Shepherd?" Jake asked.
"Yeah... used to be. Look, Marshall, you'll be safe in there with Ryder. I need to go get my hands dirty. You two are coming with me." Chase said.
Jake started to call out. Moments later he was dragged in.
Everyone else followed besides Rubble and Zuma. The pups yelled as they saw Chase walk in. "Glad to see you're all ok- Chase? It's so good to see you." Ryder said.
"Nice talk." Chase said as he walked out on him.
"What just happened?" Marshall asked.
"Bad blood I guess." Jake replied.
"Yeah, I did some questionable things which caused our split. I didn't think he would still be attached to it." Ryder shrugged.
"Nice to see you Everest." Katie said.
Everest waved.
"Alright, 3 pups are all we need." Chase said.
"You're gonna help us?" Rubble asked.
"Teamwork is the best work." Chase replied.
They were noticeably younger than him. He just had to bust down some doors. "Do you think more people are doing the nasty? Just so they don't die a viwgin." Zuma asked.
Chase paused before replying. He was probably right but why ask that question now. "Probably, don't ask me anything like that again." Chase replied.
"Do you like that girl?" Rubble asked.
"No... kinda... I'm not sure I said stop asking me those questions." Chase replied with a growl to ensure they stop.
"Okay okay, search each house on this block. When you find one then howl." Chase ordered.
They all split and started busting down houses.
In a separate corner Marshall and Everest talked. When they ran out something to talk about they would bring up the most random things in existence. Space monkeys, alternate timelines, space travel all kinds of things could be made up with their imagination.
"AWOOOOOOOOOôöòóøŒ!"
Chase and Zuma ran outside. They looked to the last house rubble was in and sprinted towards it.
Zuma turned the corner into the room with no hesitation and touched something.
On the floor were two lifeless dogs. The third one looked up at the three. "Go ahead. End it already!" He yelled with tears coming out of his eyes.
Chase tapped his head and he fell over.
"We did it!" Zuma exclaimed.
Chase put on a fake celebratory smile. Underneath he was turning into a wreck. (I might use this line later, I like it) Best friend died today and now he just ended these poor pups lives.
"Let's h-head back." Chase said.
They knocked on the door and Ryder quickly let them in. "Did you guys do it?" Ryder asked.
They all nodded.
"I'm gonna get some shut eye." Chase said going over to a corner and curling up into a sad little ball. He made sure to face away from them so a couple of tears could roll down. He did his best to try not to sniff.
"MAN screw this game! Why am I getting the worst ending!" Chase yelled, dropping his cards.
The pups read his last three. "Get stabbed and die, go to a mental therapy for killing after the event, take the easy way out"
"Dude! You're complaining?" Rocky and Skye said.
Zuma and Rubble started to laugh. "No but for real your cards are really funny!" Rubble said rolling over.
"Die while having sex but not pleasuring you're partner because youw only packing 2 inches!" Zuma added.
Rocky started to turn red. "This game is a load of bull!" He shouted.
"I died because a car hit me amigo!" Tracker said angrily. He died very early in the game.
"I refuse to play this! What are your cards Marshall!" Chase yelled.
Everest patted Chases back.
Marshall smiled evilly. "After it's over, get hired by the government and control the games with your spouse, become a world leader, live a happy life and pack 8 inches" he replied.
"Is that even possible?" Zuma questioned at the thought of 8 inches.
"Hey man, the game is the game." Marshall shrugged.
"How do I die lonely and as a psychopath and you live happily ever after with MY girlfriend!" Chase exclaims.
"Chasey, it's a game calm down." Everest said as she tried to hold in her laugh.
"You know what it says. Win some you lose some. You lost." Marshall replied.
"What did you two get?" Everest asked Ryder and Katie.
"Your fiancé dies with your children, live rich, smartest person alive." Katie replied.
"Yeah, I die pretty soon after that." Ryder said.
"I think we should put this away." Marshall said.
"This game was fun though, plus that was only 1 one of the stories. There's 2 others right now and they are making more!" Rocky added, he liked this game. It required no skill at all.
"We might need to get those." Ryder said.
"Yeah right." Chase rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"That game was fun. Don't be a party pooper." Everest said.
"Yeah but it was long, longer than monopoly." Ryder said.
"NO! Don't speak of that game!" Chase yelled.
"Chase has a bad time with board games." Skye giggled.
"Yet he still plays them with us." Katie said.
"That's what's great about him!" Everest said nuzzling him.
"Monopoly is pretty funny. Rags to riches vice versa in seconds." Rocky said.
"You, Ryder, and somehow Marshall are always last." Skye said.
Ryder looked around and saw that Rubble, Chase, Everest, Tracker and Zuma already feel asleep. "Hit the hay, we can play more tomorrow." He said walking to his room Sleep seems like his favorite thing right now.
Would you look at that! New one shot! Okay so I'm not counting this as a Chase X Everest because there's were only a couple of lines. I didn't really plan for it I just thought it would've been more comedic that Marshall lived a happier life with her in the game. I can't believe I spent like 2 weeks making this. The next one shot will include a ship. Apart from the Valentine's one I haven't made one in awhile. Next time I do a count for a one shot I'm gonna leave Chase x Skye and Marshall x Everest because last time they completely owned the show. If you want to see any specific ship just leave a review asking for it. I'll get to it eventually... anyways hope y'all enjoyed.
