In which the Queen of Shintaro receives a transmission from Ninjago City.
Season 16, Episode 15
"Queen Vania, there is a long-distance video message transmitted from Ninjago City."
The Queen of Shintaro gracefully walked over to the man who called her, along with her prime minister, Hailmar. With a look of interest mixed with concern, she addressed the man at the signal receiver.
"Must be the Ninja," she assumed. "What do they need?"
"You'll see, m'lady," said the man as he played the transmission.
A couple of seconds of static started off the message, then a familiar face popped up on the screen, his face twisted with fear and desperation.
"Princess (I mean, Queen) Vania, it's me, Cole."
Just hearing his voice made the Queen want to jump with joy! Cole is alive!
"You once told me that if I ever needed help, you would bring the entire army of Shintaro to my aid. I think you meant it metaphorically, but that's exactly what I need! Literally, the entire army of Shintaro!"
She clearly remembered that day, when the ninjas were about to leave after her coronation party. Cole was the last one to board the Destiny's Bounty, and before he left, she made that promise. Oh no, she said to herself. I wonder what happened?
Her question was soon answered. The camera shifted to another unfamiliar face, her look of desperation matching that of Cole's. It didn't matter if this person was someone Vania knew or not because there was definitely something wrong happening in the City of Ninjago.
"Tell her about the Overlord," said the unfamiliar person, gesturing to the camera (well, the viewer, which is Vania).
"The Overlord is attacking Ninjago City with a bunch of bad guys including your father!" said Cole, gesturing to a giant, crystallized dragon.
That saying hit hard. True, her father was a bad person, but to see that he never wants to turn from his evil ways made her sad. She loves her father, but cannot help to be his enemy because of his rebellious nature. The Overlord, again, is someone she doesn't know, but if her father is working with this person, this Overlord is evil and must be rid of, along with her father. After he escaped from prison, they always wondered how and why he wanted to escape. Now they know.
Cole continued. "So seriously, send the entire army here please --"
"Look out!" shouted the person with him, pushing him to the side to dodge an attack from a crystallized dragon. The beam of energy shot directly at the camera, and the screen went static, and then dark as night.
That was the last she saw of them. She turned and walked away in despair. What happened to them, worried the young Queen. Did they get hurt? Did they die? She shook off those thoughts and gained her composure.
"We must help them," she said with determination. The only way she'll know they're alright is if she goes there with help. "We've got no time to lose!"
She turned to face her prime minister. "Hailmar, prepare the entire army of Shintaro! We are going to help our friends."
