In which Cole spends a few moments with Cole Jr. before they repair the Destiny's Bounty.

Between the end of Episode 5 and the beginning of Episode 6, Season 8

The crash of the Destiny's Bounty hit hard for the ninja team. Lloyd and Harumi have gone missing along with the Samurai X mech and the map to the Third Oni Mask, and with the communication system disabled, contacting them is impossible. And they still have to repair the damaged Bounty or else the Sons of Garmadon will find them.

While the rest of the team decided to start repairing, Cole went to check on Cole Jr. He's still a baby, of course, so this experience is too much for him to handle. When he went to the room to check on him, though, Cole Jr. did not crack a single tear. Maybe a few whimpers here and there, but overall, this child miraculously endured the whole endeavor.

Cole picked up the baby and cradled him in his arms. "Aw, you little bugaboo! You're so brave!" he commented with a goofy voice. He was impressed by the courage of this child. His mature and courageous nature cannot match the faith of this baby. Sure he had his doubts, but that was because he knew everything that was going on. This baby, on the other hand, knows nothing, yet he still kept his bravery and courage.

Cole Jr. giggled in response. His bright smile lifted Cole from his fear and doubt and for once he knew things will turn out alright.

"I gotta go help my friends repair this ship. Do you want to come and help?"

Cole Jr. giggled again, this time his hands stuck out of his loosely wrapped blanket, holding it out as if to say he was ready to work. Cole grabbed his tiny fingers and strung them around his own. "You're ready!" he exclaimed with that same goofy voice as he tickled the baby's belly. "I know you are! I know you are!" he said as he exited the room to join the rest of the ninjas.

So this short story is well, short. Maybe shorter than you expect, but I will probably make longer stories soon. For now, I'll keep these as short as drabbles (or maybe a bit shorter) while I'm still learning.

P.S.: I called this drabble "Father & Son" for a reason, even though we all know Cole Jr. is not Cole's son.
