Shot 22: The Story of Cole And Rocky (Part 3)

He heard a thump at the same time he felt a huge weight settle on his legs.

This is it, the dragon will now eat him and there was no chance of escape. He'll be swallowed whole like in his childhood nightmares.

He waited for his inevitable doom.

And waited

And waited

The inevitable doom didn't seem very keen on coming, he risked a glance at the dragon who was slumped before him. The mythical creature was looking up at him sadly, but why would it be upset? Cole was the one with the disadvantage, in fact, didn't the reptile itself drag him in this cave? What other reason could the dragon possibly have done so if not as food supply?

The dragon... whined? which sounded suspiciously like a dog and also refocused the raven's attention back to it. Why did it lay it's head on his leg (effectively trapping him) and making upset noises? The black ninja tentatively observed the flying reptile and for the first time was captured by its beauty.

It's colors was a blend of brown, orange, red and black that from afar, just look like dirt. But up close, each scale had a swirling pattern with warm colors and reflected a light coppery color. It called the artist in him and he couldn't help but reach to touch it. The scales look so smooth and his palm confirmed it.

The dragon softly pushed against his hand causing him to instantly retreat it. He already had a dislocated hand, he can't afford to render this one useless as well. Fearful mahogany eyes locked into wild golden ones. Cole could see his own reflection through those glassy eyes but they held a gentleness in them that made the earth ninja calm down. The dragon laid it's head once again upon his lap, but this time, Cole wasn't worried nor terrified. In fact, he started petting it.

Oh my, is it short? :P

I could continue it, but it's 1 am and I do need to keep updating often or you guys will think I won't be back till another year. My own fault, but still.
