Why can't I say that I'm in love? I wanna shout it from the rooftop.. I wish that we could be like that.. Why can't we be like that? 'Cause I'm yours....

Midnight's Angel (Part-2)
May 13th, X524 (1:30 PM)
DeathValley Cave, in Misty Valley
"YOU USELESS BRAT." As soon as Angel entered the cave, she heard Master Brain's yell, followed by a weak cry from Midnight. She ran inside and found that Midnight was lying on the ground... a magic circle trapped him inside... draining his magic.
She realized that Midnight lost his battle to a Fairy Tail member, and what he received was the punishment of losing.
"Master," she interrupted, although she was afraid that she too might get the punishment. But if she didn't step in, Midnight would die right now. She looked at her best friend... his face had a small cut... his clothes were soaked with blood... He also looked at her... fear and worry were seen on his tired face.
Master Brain canceled the magic circle, freeing Midnight, then glanced at her angrily. Her brother figure tried to stand up, "Father.. don't." begging again and again.
To their surprise, Master walked away, commanding them to take a rest.
She rushed to his side and supported him to stand up. Her beautiful purple eyes met his crimson eyes. "Are you okay?" He asked her.
'No! I'm not okay. How can I be okay when I failed to avenge? How can I be okay when half of six elite Oracion Seis were defeated.'
Then he hugged her, comforted her... "Don't worry everything will be fine."
Sometimes, a little bit of comfort was enough, right?

1:40 PM
DeathValley cave was the place to hold the resurrection ceremony. Inside the dark cave, Sky magic practitioner, or the only sky dragon slayer, eleven-year-old Princess Wendy Dreyar in a blue dress was unconscious, being pinned on the ground, inside a large circular magic rune. Angel felt bad for the innocent young girl, but what else she could do in this situation? She couldn't betray her master. Master Brain was excited to fight Fairy Tail, while she and Midnight were standing behind him.
"Give up. All of you are surrounded," No sooner did they hear an angry shout than they saw a blue-haired guy coming into the cave. He was wearing a black shirt, brown pants and boots, and a blue cloak. She assumed that the newcomer was Jellal Dreyar, the Crown Prince of Fairy Tail. He was followed by the familiar white-haired ice mage wearing a white uniform, and the pinkette with long curly hair wearing a pink long dress who defeated her Gemini.
Soon, Lucy Heartfilia, and an unfamiliar blond-hair guy wearing a long coat, whom she guessed he was Laxus Dreyar, stepped into the battle zone.
"Release Wendy. Your plan failed, we've already defeated your members. There's no way you could get my blood. It's the end for you," Lucy Heartfilia said, glaring at Master.
"STOP TALKING NONSENSE," Master Brain shouted before summoning a black dagger in his hand. Laxus Dreayr stepped forward to cover Lucy Heartilia while Jellal Dreyar was ready to counterattack.
She looked at Lucy Heartfilia.. her longest wish would come true.. but why... Why she wasn't happy suddenly? Why she was hesitating now? Why she didn't want her die?
"Do you want to die like this? Remember your mother's words. What did she tell you? DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DIE NOW?" Lucy Heartfilia told her in earlier duel, "Tell me how to take your lifespan back."
'Even in the dangerous situations, she tried to save me.'
She was lost in thought.. only before a very sharp pain brought her back to reality. She looked downwards... to see a sharp dagger piercing her abdomen. Her eyes widened in shock, realizing that her master stabbed her. "Why?" she whispered.
She was kicked before falling backward a few distances away, falling to the ground beside the young bluenette. Lying supine... facing up... she neither could move nor could stand up... Her blood from the stab wound began to flow into the magic rune.
"Celestial blood... the blood of any Celestial spirit mages," her master said heartlessly.
"You jerk, she's your disciple," she heard Lucy Heartfilia's angry shout.
"She's just a spawn that I used. If my plan went wrong, I can still kill Angel. I won't accept a weak celestial mage as my member for no reason." For the first time in her life, she felt betrayed.. by someone whom she relied on most for many years.
"You did a good job, Angel. I'll tell you a secret before you die. I planned for the downfall of celestial village eighteen years ago."
"What... do... you... mean?" She asked weakly.. in her shocked voice.

[Flashback]
"Where are the keys?" a black-haired man with puffy hair kept in a headband, named Zoldeo, demanded as he entered the celestial village shrine. He was wearing a black robe and black hooded cape, even in the dark, his evil eyes reflected his cunning demeanor.
Standing opposite him was a blonde woman, Layla Heartfilia, the leader of the Celestial Clan. Her condition was weak, but her determination gave her the courage to continue fighting. Beside Layla, was a white-haired woman wearing a torn dress, she was Hannah Aguria. The two celestial mages were facing their enemies without their keys, because they had already given their keys to their daughters (Lucy and Sorano).
"Are you here to die? Sadly, it's still too early for you to die. I still need your magic," Zoldeo laughed. Suddenly, Brain appeared in front of Layla and stabbed her before stabbing Hannah. The Oracion Seis leader laughed evilly, facing the man in a black cape, "There's no way I could let Grimoire Heart gain incredible power. Hahahaha."

"Everything was according to my plan. At first, I tend to take Heartfilia baby but she was well-hidden. So I arranged to get you as my disciple. As for the sky dragon slayer, as long as there's a girl in the Dreyar family, she will inherit the sky magic. Every effort I made was for this moment, to revive Zeref Black."
Tears fell down, not because of the pain, but because of what she had heard. In this world, she believed her master who saved the wandering helpless being like her, taught her how to get stronger, and gave her a home. Oracion Seis was her home, and Midnight, Cobra, Flame, and M Mary Hughes were her friends.
The saddest thing was... her master deceived her and she had been blaming the wrong person...for seventeen years.
She didn't know how much blood she lost within one minute, the time seemed very slow, too bad that she didn't know any healing spells. Blood was vomited when she coughed. Her body was weak, trembling as unconsciousness wanted to dominate her. She closed her eyes, being unable to resist the dime light in the cave which hurt her eyes.
She heard footsteps approaching her... and that person carried something.. or someone who was lying beside her. Maybe someone from Fairy Tail had saved Wendy Dreyar. A moment later, the presence of people beside her disappeared. She knew the Fairy Tail gang was saying something about the young girl, but she was too weak to hear that conservation.
Then she heard a hurt voice, "You said Fairy Tail was weak. You ordered us to kill them. It isn't true, they're stronger than us. They care for each other like we, Oracion Seis members, care for each other. Father, you didn't care about us. If they didn't spare our lives, all of us would have died. Is reviving Zeref Black so important to you?" she heard footsteps, "To rethink about it, we've been blind for many years. But, everything is over now. All you deserve is your failure, Father."
'What's going on?'
Then her former master's angry shout echoed the cave. "SHUT UP TRAITOR."
'Traitor? No, it can't be.' She thought fearfully. She rolled her body, her action caused her wound being contacted with the ground, she whimpered in pain.
Three seconds later, she heard a loud THUD. She raised her head slowly, to the direction of the sound... She saw him falling to the ground, he surely was hit by the wall earlier. 'Midnight' she called him quietly, she knew he couldn't hear her.'Why did you betray your father?'
She saw her former master gather up his magic in his hand, forming a giant magic sphere. "Be gone," he said without emotion as he sent the magic sphere towards Midnight.
Angel looked at her sworn enemy, her teary eyes begging her to save her friend. She didn't dare to watch Midnight die. She saw Lucy Heartfilia smile, gesturing her to see what happened.
What she saw was a yellow barrier protecting Midnight.. the magic barrier created by Jellal Dreyar.
"Lyon, protect Wendy." she heard Laxus Dreyar's order, then the battle began again.. Two Princes and Lucy Heartfilia Versus Master Brain.
Knowing that Midnight was out of danger, Angel weakly laid back on the ground. Her stab wound was still bleeding.
She saw the pink-haired girl Meredy kneeling beside her and start healing her. But both of them knew... that the healing spells couldn't save her. She was tired of resisting the pain... she was tired of revenge, lies, and regret.
While wanting to die, she felt her pain was relieved a bit. She looked at her savior, a heart-shaped chain was on the pinkette's wrist. The pinkette's magic... could share the senses and pain.
"Thank you," she whispered to Fairy Tail mage through telepathy.
"Don't worry, you'll be okay," the girl replied with a smile.
"Please save her," she heard Midnight's begging through their group telepathy. She knew the sensory mage could hear him too since she was the one who activated the telepathy link.
"You can kill me, but please let Angel live," it was M, her junior tomboy friend.
[Deep in the forest, a crying black-haired tomboy whispered, pleading for her friend's life. She stood up weakly as she started walking slowly to the cave which was so far from her location. But she didn't care about the distance because she wanted to meet her friend.]
"Angel, do you remember.. you still owe me a meal. So don't die until you pay your debt." She smiled, Cobra was such a foodie.
[Somewhere in the mountain, the poison dragon slayer closed his eyes with tears falling from the corner of his eyes.]
"Hang on, Angel," It was Racer, another elite member and her friend.
"Don't die, Princess." It was Dan.
"Angel, do you know.. right now, the sun is shining brightly. You're the only one who agreed to watch this beautiful scene together with me." It was Flame. "So don't you ever leave me alone... Please still alive Angel."
[Somewhere in the forest, Flame leaned against the ice pillars of ice prison and looked at the bright sun, recalling their happiest memories..]
"Thank you, everyone. I love you all." She replied while sobbing.
"I love you Angel. I really love you."
Then their telepathy was ended by her. Not thinking too much about Midnight's reply, although she felt something strange, she looked at the pinkette who was crying hard... her head and arms were covered with sweat, her hands were shaking. She looked like she would collapse a minute later.
"It's okay," she said through mind communication, "You don't need to force yourself to heal me. Thank you so much for letting me talk with my friends a little longer." She smiled when the pinkette looked at her.
"Don't give up."
But she wants to.. she can't withstand anymore.. she can't endure the pain or her emotion. Weariness dominated her as her relaxed mind wasn't aware of her surrounding. She lost consciousness. The last thing she heard was her name called by the pinkette...

June 22nd, X524 (8:30 AM)
It was a beautiful morning in June, the sun cast golden rays of light across the morning sky. The atmosphere was peaceful.
Birds... chirping a melody on the tree. Two cats... sleeping under the tree.
Three little foxes... playing run-and-chase happily in the yard.
Three puppies... splashing the water in the nearby pond and barking happily.
Four rabbits... eating their carrots that a certain silvery young woman gave.
Angel smiled while looking at the carefree animals that she had taken care of. She did survive that attack three months ago, thanks to Princess Wendy's sky magic and Princess Lucelia's phoenix spirit.
Oracion Seis Guild master died in that battle... Oracion Seis elite members were sent to the prison... except her... because of Midnight's request. After all, he saved Princess Wendy's life. After getting treatment for three weeks, she was sent to the outskirt of Magnolia to work at the magical animal farm. Her magic was sealed by the Crown Prince. As for her keys, she handed them to the blond celestial spirit mage willingly. She knew the blonde would treat them better than her.
Looking at the blue sky, she couldn't help but missed her friends... Flame, Midnight, Cobra, Racer, and M. Compared to them, the punishment she received was way too light. But, her newest friend, Meredy, or the pinkette as her nickname, convinced her that it was what her friends wanted and she also should try to forgive herself. She knew that they were trying their best to atone for their sins.
One thing that had been bothering her a bit was his words 'I love you, Angel. I really love you'... It was Meredy who brought her to the topic of love, telling her that "Midnight loves you~~"
It stirred her mind occasionally, but it was too late... Whether she liked him or not didn't matter... She couldn't be together with him.
However... as a friend... if they met again someday in the unpredictable future... she hoped that she could greet him with easiness... with no resentment... with no guilt... and no hatred... that they could let go of their painful past... She wanted to see him living a happy life.
Because.. for her, he was her guardian hero... who always protected her... who always supported her... who always stayed by her side no matter what happened.
Yes, he was...
But he would never be her hero anymore...

On the day he first met her seventeen years ago, he was following his father to somewhere he didn't know... In the middle of the forest, he suddenly stopped. It was her scream that made the little him noticed. He saw a little girl running fast to his direction... she was running barefoot... Three giant foxes were following her... Her clothes were covered with dusk and dirt...
When she passed him, she stared into his eyes, asking for help. Her eyes were filled with tears... She was pitiful... At that moment, he wanted to save her. He looked at his father, who didn't care what he was thinking. He knew he couldn't ask his father for help.
He stepped forwards as he raised his hand, creating four small air slashes, and releasing these towards the hungry animals, sending them away. However, his attack wasn't strong enough to make them retreat. A moment, the angry foxes were approaching nearer and nearer, then the next moment, all of them were killed... by his father.
To his surprise, his father took her as his disciple, she became his junior sister. He was happy because he finally had a playmate. They were together all the time... when they practiced magic and when they played... Their training place was the dark forest which surrounded their guild. They escaped from the dangers together... He helped her every time she needed help...
Eleven years passed by so fast... They grew up together... New friends joined the guild... He had mastered dark magic, air magic, and reflector magic. And he realized that his feelings for Angel weren't the same as before... Little did she know, he had fallen for her... But, all she cared about was 'revenge'...
He knew she had been training so hard, both physical combat and magic. She could open two gates at her age of fifteen. But her problem was her insecurity that she wasn't strong... "I'm still weak, I can't defeat the descendant of Celestial Clan," she always said. He lost count of how many times he told her not to think like that. Another problem was that they couldn't find other golden keys, because they weren't allowed to go outside the forest.
Then, his father ordered his disciples to form new teams for the missions of finding magic weapons. He didn't form a team with her. Because of his good excuses, his father ordered Angel to lead and train her junior girls; Flame and M. It wasn't that he didn't want to go on missions with her... it was just he didn't let her do the evil things such as harming or killing innocent people.
He wanted her to stay in the Oracion Seis base peacefully. He knew she didn't like his father's decision because staying in the Oracion Seis base was like staying in the prison... but she didn't complain.
He always searched for the golden keys for her in his every mission, which made his teammate Cobra laugh. He called him a coward jokingly and asked him why he didn't confess.
Why? Because he knew she would reject him without hesitation... He knew her too well, that she wouldn't waste her time for dating... Besides, he didn't want to destroy their friendship... For him, it was enough to stay beside her.

"I want you to leave Oracion Seis after you get your revenge, Angel."
"Give me a reason... why should I leave my home?"
"Don't forget why you joined the guild," he replied, "The deal is over after Lucy Heartfilia dies."
"If you still regard me as your friend, don't tell me to leave Oracion Seis." was her fierce reply, "Don't make me mad at you."
'If you choose to leave, I'll follow you. I leave my status behind. Being a dark mage isn't good, Angel. You deserve a happier life.'

June 24th, X524 (11:45 PM)
Prison, City Guard Building, Magnolia
It was almost midnight, but Midnight was still awake. Despite being in the prison, everything was fine, Fairy Tail's guards didn't torture them. He was glad that he could get a chance to redeem his past sins. He knew his friends also felt the same. After all, all of them were the victims of his father's evil plan.
He hoped that Angel would be doing great. His request to His Highnesses, in favor of saving the young Princess, was to give her a normal carefree life. The Dreyars agreed as they sent her to work outside the town... He was relieved...
He missed her but he didn't want to meet her... because he was ashamed of what his father did to her and to her family.
His silent apologies weren't enough, he was the one who took her to Oracion Seis... to her sufferings... If he had known everything... he would've stop his father.
He knew he couldn't change the past...
'Is she feeling alone? Is she still sad? Does she hate him? Is she okay?' He wanted to know...
Fortunately, his new friend, Lyon Vastia, told him that Angel had totally recovered from her injuries... and that she was happy taking care of magical animals...
Knowing this... was enough... honestly.
"I love you, Angel. I really love you." He never regretted confessing to her even though he won't get her answer back. Because he knew he won't have another chance to confess next time... They weren't meant to be together...
He closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep... The moment his eyes closed, his mind went to the night before the Oracion Seis battle... She was staring at the moon while smiling... She was the prettiest and kindest person in the world...
Angel... the girl he loved wholeheartedly... the girl whom he swore to protect but failed to protect her...
Angel... the girl who brought light to his world in the darkest of times...
His Angel... Sorano...
