December 22nd 1987 Scottish Highlands

A woman was sitting at her desk grading papers in her stone lined office.

She was a rather tall woman, standing at a towering 5'8. She wore long black womens robes that were embroidered with a dark red trim. The woman was getting on in years as evident by the numerous wrinkles and stress lines that were on her face and hands. She usually wore her black hair in a tight bun under a black pointed hat. Today, though, she wore her hair in a tight braid which fell down to her shoulders.

The woman looked around her office and sighed when her eyes landed on a photo of her with one of her favorite students of all time. She picked up the brown dusty picture frame, and held it close as she sighed once again.

The photo was of herself wearing her classic forest green robes, a much shorter man with long, pointed elf-like ears who was wearing a pair of black dress robes, and a young woman with blood red hair who was holding onto a large, cylindrical trophy. The young woman also had a large smile on her face. She was wearing a green and black kit with the number forty-two on it.

"Thinking of her again?"

Minerva clutched her chest while letting out a breath she didn't know she had taken. "Ms. Pomfrey," She gasped while turning to face her. "You shouldn't sneak up on the elderly like that." She said while getting up to greet the matron with a hug.

Poppy was wearing a nice pair of casual robes which did well to conceal her large and prominent baby bump. The robes themselves were made out of a dark purple cotton, and had a green trim along the ends. She also had on a pair of black flats and wore her brown hair in a tight ponytail. She even had on a light amount of makeup.

"I thought you would have noticed when your fireplace went off," Poppy chuckled as she accepted the hug from her old professor. "How have you been?" She asked after she let go of the elder woman.

"I should be asking you that question!" She said while gesturing to Poppy's bump. "How are you feeling? I hope the Floo wasn't any trouble." She asked worriedly. She knew how much trouble magical transport could have on expecting mothers.

"No more trouble than it usually is," Poppy mumbled while taking a seat at the table that was in McGonagll's office. She looked around the room, and smiled, reminiscing about all the fond memories she's had in there.

Despite the black stone outer walls, the Transfiguration professor's office and living quarters were quite warm and welcoming. There were red wool drapes over the three windows in the room. In front of the window furthest from the wall was a large desk that was covered in papers, quills, and wells of red ink.

Poppy observed the numerous bookshelves that were around the room, along with the nice touch of garland that hung around the walls. She smiled when she saw some of the holiday decorations that were hanging from the walls. She even noticed that there was a small christmas tree on the small circular table that was in the middle of the room.

"Your office is just as beautiful as always Professor," Poppy complimented after sitting down on a cushioned wooden seat in front of the table. "You alway have a knack for making it feel so homey."

"Thank you Poppy," Minerva smiled while taking off the tea kettle that was currently boiling over a small stove. "I've always tried to decorate a little for the holidays." She said after she summoned two tea cups from a cabinet. "Do you still prefer two lumps of sugar in your tea?" She asked as she turned her head to look at Poppy.

"One lump will be fine," she replied as she watched her old professor make tea. "She doesn't need anymore sugar today." She laughed while rubbing her bump lovingly.

It was so rare that Poppy got to see her these days with everything that had been going on in her life. With the baby on the way, and now figuring out the situation with Harry, she'd barely had time to write to her old professor, or anyone else for that matter. When she received the letter that she was invited for tea, she knew that she had to go see Minerva since it has been so long since they last spoke.

"So," Minerva said as she sat the two cups down on the wooden table. "How have you been?" She asked as she gave Poppy a stern look.

The young Matron chuckled nervously and took a sip from her cup, moaning softly as she let the warm liquid glide down her throat.

"I've been… busy," Poppy finally replied after taking a few more sips of tea. "There's been a lot going on recently which is partially why I haven't written to you in so long." She sighed and tilted her head down in shame.

"Oh Poppy don't worry about writing to me," Minerva said as a gentle smile adorned her face "Trust me when I say that it would have taken me quite a while to get back to you due to how crazy it's been here."

"Why?" Poppy asked, genuinely interested in what goe on in the castle now that she wasn't a student here anymore. "Did something happen?"

"Do you remember the Matron of Hogwarts, Maden Glendon?" She asked the young woman who nodded her head. "Well, she decided that she had enough of her job and quit in the middle of the year."

Poppy gasped as she processed the news. "That's awful!" She shouted. "Have you found a new Matorn yet?" She asked as she knitted her hands together with worry.

"Well that's the thing," McGonagall sighed as she took a sip of her tea. "We've been relying on the kind women of Hogsmeade to help with the more serious injuries like broken bones, concussions, and Magical Illnesses. Then myself and the other Heads Of Houses have been taking care of the less serious stuff like cuts, scrapes, and the stomach bug." She explained to the young woman who had a look of horror on her face.

"Minerva you know that's…not legal right?" Poppy asked her friend who once again sighed. "What is Dumbledore thinking! If the board finds out that there is no Matorn at Hogwarts, very very bad things will happen!" She exclaimed to her friend.

"That's why we've been trying to find someone to fill the position, but it's been difficult to find someone since it's the middle of the school year."

"I might have a few people I can recommend to you," Poppy suggested while stroking her chin with her perfectly manicured fingers.

"I was hoping I could convince you to take the job," McGonagall said while looking at Poppy with a smile.

"I wish, but I have too much stuff going on to live at the castle full time. Plus I'm due soon and I don't want to be far away from my doctors right now." Poppy explained while smiling at her friend.

"Why do I get the feeling that those aren't the only reasons as to why you aren't accepting?" The teacher asked her old student with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't know what you're referring to Minerva," Poppy said with a straight face.

"Poppy I've been teaching for a very long time," She replied while smirking into her cup. "I'd like to say that I know when someone is hiding information from me." She said after taking a sip.

Poppy looked at her old teacher with narrowed eyes. She had no clue how the elder witch was always able to tell when she was hiding something, but once again, she was able to sniff it out. Poppy took in a deep breath through her nose and released it through her mouth, feeling the cool air pass through her body.

"I found and adopted a child," Poppy finally admitted to Minerva who raised an eyebrow at the pregnant witch.

"Are you sure that was wise?" Minerva asked after getting over the initial shock of the announcement. She knew that the Matron had always wanted to have a family, a large one at that, but she just didn't know if now was the right time for the young expecting mother.

"You're already about to have a baby which will be taking up a lot of your time." McGonagall explained while looking at her friend with concern. "Plus you work crazy hours at St. Mongons, and that's not adding in all the other stuff you do as a medical professional. Are you sure this is a good decision?"

"No, it probably wasn't wise," She said while taking a sip from her mug. "But something, we make bad decisions so that they may lead us to good ones."

"That was…very wise of you to say," Minerva said while giving Poppy a smile. "In fact that might be the wisest thing I've heard in a while."

"Thank you," She blushed, not used to getting much praise.

"Now, tell me about this child you're adopting,"

Poppy sighed and placed her cup down onto the table. "Well he's seven years old, and a bit shy since he hasn't been around very many kids." She explained to the woman who nodded her head.

"So he was an only child?" Minerva asked, curious about this new mystery child.

Poppy nodded her head before continuing. "Yes, his parents were when he was a little over a year old."

"Were they magical?"

"Yes,"

"Where were they from?"

"From what I could find his dad is from Middlesbrough England,"

"What about the Mother?"

This caused Poppy some pause due to the fact that she couldn't reveal where Lily was from due to the fact that McGonagall would immediately know whose child she was adopting.

"Well, are you going to tell me or are you going to make this even harder for yourself Poppy?" Minerva smirked as she knew exactly who's child she was adopting. "Or did you forget that I was the one who writes out all the Hogwarts acceptance letters each year?"

"Shite!" She groaned as she bagged her head lightly onto the table. "I forgot that you did that."

"So tell me, how were you able to find Lily and James's child when not even Albus could?" She casually asked while raising a graying eyebrow at her old student.

"I need an oath saying you won't reveal it to Albus. At least not till I get proper custody of him," Poppy said with a hint of steel in her voice. "I don't want a word of this getting out to anyone! Especially not him." She said with a hint of desperation in her voice.

"Well I could do an unbreakable vow, but we would need a third person for that. I could get Flitwick to perform it, but that would mean he's included in the secret as well.

"I know someone who can do it," Poppy suggested. "Do you mind if I give them your Floo address?" Poppy asked as she channeled magic into the ring on her finger. She waited a few moments before receiving a pulse of magic in return.

"Sure, but who are you bringing here?" Minerva asked as she suspiciously watched the Matron.

Poppy took out her wand and waved it around her head. She closed her eyes and smiled before saying the spell on her mind. "Expecto Patronum!"

Out of the tip of her wand came a beautiful looking serpent. It was about the size of a large garden snake. It slithered around in the air for a few seconds before slithering in front of Pomfrey who smiled at it.

"I need you to tell Harry to Floo to Professor McGonagall's office. Please hurry before he tries to portkey to my location," She told the serpent before it disappeared.

"How in the world would Harry Potter, a seven year old, be able to get a portkey?" Minerva asked while looking at her old student with a raised eyebrow.

"You'll find that Harry isn't your average child," Pomfrey smirked as she took a sip of her tea.

"How long should it take him to find a Floo?" Minerva asked while eyeing her fireplace.

"Well it depends on where he is in a place where he can-"

Suddenly the fireplace lit up a bright and vivid green. Both women turned to face the hooded figure that stepped out of the fireplace. He was shrouded in a black cloak and had on a pair of dark dragon skinned boots. He brought with him this mysterious aura as he stepped further into the room.

"Hello Mother," Harry said as he stepped towards his mom to give her a hug. Poppy pulled off the hood of his cloak, revealing the mob of jet black hair on his head along with his bright emerald eyes, and jagged scar.

"Hello love, how are you?" She asked while checking him over for any injuries. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary she gently kissed him on the forehead.

"I'm fine," He said while turning to face the other occupant of the room. He looked towards the Transfigurations Professor and narrowed his eyes. "Minerva Grace McGonagall, Assistant Headmistress of Hogwarts, Head of the Transfiguration Department, Head of Gryffindor House, Head Consultant for the Transfiguration Monthly Jurnal, Chairwoman of the Board of Transfigurations Mastery program, second youngest Transfigurations Master in Great Britain, and two time duelong champion," He said while never breaking eye contact with the woman who had her own eyes honed in on the boy.

"It would appear that my reputation precedes me," The elder witch said while narrowing her eyes even further. "And who might you be?" She asked, already knowing the answer.

"Harry Potter," He responded casually with little to no emotion. "Though, I'm not sure if it will be Potter-Pomfrey," He lightly smirked at his attempt at humor.

"Really?" She asked with a raised eyebrow while leaning back in her chair.

"Yes, I'm not 100% sure how long this adoption will take," He said while banishing the ashes that were on him. "Now, was there a reason as to why I was brought here?" Harry asked while turning to his mother who nodded.

"Yes dear," She said while finishing her cup of tea. "We need you to be the third person for Unbreakable Vow."

Harry's eyebrows shot up to the top of his head. "Why do you want to make one of those? Are you in trouble with the law? Is there anything I can do to help?" He asked with his usual monotone voice showing a hint of urgency and concern as he looked at his mother.

"No sweetie," She smiled at her child while rubbing his arm lightly. "It's so that I can be assured that Minerva won't say anything to her boss," She explained to the child who nodded his head.

"That's…understandable," Harry nodded while looking back at the Transfigurations teacher. He knew of his mothers dislike for all things Albus Dumbledor, so her taking this course of action wasn't too out of left field.

He flicked his wrist causing his wand to appear in his hand. "If you both could link arms please?"

Both women nodded their heads and stood up from their respective seats. They then approached the boy. Once they were standing in front of Harry, Minerva reached out her arms and let out a deep breath.

"Ready?" Minerva asked the young Matron who nodded her head. She then stuck out her arm palm up and waited for Poppy to grab it. Once she did, both women grasped the others forearms and twisted their arms so that they were parallel to Harry.

Harry then started to slowly and gently move his arm around the small nott created by the two women; causing a small, thin, wispy line to form around the two's hands.

"Will you, Minerva McGonagall, swear to not reveal the current parentage of one Harry Potter to Albus Dumbledore, or anyone else?" Harry asked the woman as he walked about the pair.

"I will," She said confidently while looking into Poppy's blue eyes.

"And will you, Minerva McGonagall, swear to to not reveal any of the secrets involving either Lily Evans, or Harry Potter to Albus Dumbledore or anyone else?" Harry asked while moving his wand around the pair of hands.

"I wll," She said with slightly less confidence.

"And finally, will you, Minerva McGonagall, swear to treat both Poppy Pomfrey and Harry Potter as you would normally, irrelevant of the information presented to you in this conversation or any conversation to come?"

Minerva looked at Poppy and then back at Harry before taking a calming breath. "I will." She said while adding as much steel in her voice as possible.

The magic around the two women's hands and forearms soon faded once those final words were said. Minerva looked at Poppy who gave her a weak smile.

"I'm sorry it had to be this way, but we simply can't let Dumbledore , or anyone else know about Harry," Poppy explained while looking at her friend who sighed.

"I would be lying if I said that his intentions are always good," Minerva mumbled as she poured herself and Poppy more tea while Harry sat down in one of the other unoccupied chairs in the room. "So, if you could start from the beginning that would be great." She said after placing the kettle back on the table.

"Alright," Poppy sighed while fidgeting with her robe. "I was over at Amelia's house for our annual Halloween party when we all felt the wards of my house be disturbed. It was then decided that myself, Pandora Lovegood, and Marlene McKinnon went over to investigate."

"Why didn't you call the Aruors?" Minerva asked while glancing at Poppy who, once again, found herself sighing.

"Amelia, Narcissa, and Dorcas went to the Ministry to get the Aurorus. And there was an investigation, it just happened on the day after," She explained to the only women who nodded and gestured for her to continue. "Once we entered the house, we discovered the two sent to kidnap me and decided to fight them."

"And I'm guessing that Harry was among the ones there?" Minerva asked while glancing at the child who remained focused on her the entire time Poppy was talking.

"Yes he was. In fact, if I remember correctly he was the one in charge," Poppy said pridefully.

"Ok, I'm taking a lot of leaps in logic here, but continue with your story," Minerva said while summoning a bottle of Firewhisky from a cabinet. She then poured some into her tea and took a sip, unfazed by the fact that she was drinking in front of a pregnant mother and her child.

"Anway," Poppy said wearily while taking a glance at the bottle of Firewhisky that was now sitting on the table. "After we lost to the first guy, he said some stuff that made Harry quite upset. So then they start fighting." She takes a moment to take a sip of her tea. "Once he was dead-"

"Hold on just a moment," McGonagall said as she held up her hands. "Are you going to have me believe that Mr. Potter, a seven-year-old, who, in all honesty, shouldn't even be able to perform magic at his age, killed a grown man?" She asked while laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of the statement.

"You'll find Profesor that I have done a great number of things," Harry said icily.

"Moving on," She said not wanting to hear what other possibly heinous things the young boy has done. "What happened after Harry…killed this man?" She asked while taking another sip of her tea.

"Well, right before he died, Ameila showed up with the others. Some other things happened which led to the man confirming that the child we were facing was in fact Harry Potter," Poppy explained. "Then, in a last ditch effort to kill all of us, he released Fiendfyre."

"Don't tell me Harry stopped it," Minerva said with disbelief written all over her face. When both Poppy and Harry nodded their heads, Minerva groaned. "Well Lily, your son is causing just as many problems as you are." She mumbled while glancing upwards.

"Excuse me, but I have not caused any problems as of right now," Harry said neutrally as he looked at the Professor.

"Well for starters you killed someone," She said firmly while looking into the boy's eyes. " But let's overlook that. Your entire way of life right now is a one way trip to Azkaban. What are you in some kind of gang?" She asked

"The Spectors," He said with a slight air of confidence.

Minerva McGonagall was expecting to hear many things when she accepted Poppy Pomfrey over tea. She had expected to hear about the bright young Ravenclaw's promotion to being the Head Matron of Pediatrics at St. Mongs. She had expected to hear about the pregnancy. But after hearing that her favorite student's son was a part of an ancient organization of information brokers, mercenaries, and assassins, it all just became too much for even her. She looked at the bottle of Firewhisky and poured a healthy amount into her tea cup and started to drink it like it was water. There was no reaction on her face as the incredibly strong liquor rushed down her throat. Only a heavy look of disappointment marred the elder woman's face.

"So let me make sure I understand," Minerva said after many minutes of contemplative silence. "You are adopting a child who is in one of the most mysterious organizations in pretty much all of Magical Europe, and are okay with it?" She asked the young mother who nodded.

"Yes because I know it won't be permanent, and we have a system in place," She said with a soft smile on her face.

"Oh?" Minerva asked. I can't believe I'm about to ask. She thought to herself as she sighed. "What is this system?"

"Well, he sends three Patronus," She explains while looking at Harry who nods his head. "One that tells me he has a mission, A second when he gets to where he needs to go, and one that tells me when he comes back home."

"That's…actually not a bad system," Minerva said with a small smile. "That still doesn't account for the fact that 99% of what Harry does is illegal. Why are you even letting him continue with this?"

"Because Madam Bones thinks she can use me to tear the whole thing down," Harry answered while checking his watch.

"Wait, Amelia Bones, the Head of the Auror Department for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, knows about this?!"

"Yes, in fact, it was actually her idea for Harry to keep working as a Spector," Poppy said, much to the shock on the elder woman's face. "I know Minerva, I was just as shocked as you are now when she said it."

"Ignoring the significant display of corruption, gross misuse of power, and deregulation of duty by a high rankingMinistry Official," She said, but not before taking another few sips from her spiked teacup. "How long do you think all of this is going to take?" She asked the boy who shrugged.

"I estimate it could be years before I finally have enough information, and strength to fully take down the Spectors," He said honestly. "Hell, I don't even know who's incharge of the whole thing." He sighed.

"What do you mean you don't know?" Poppy asked her son who shrugged.

"It's like the Professor said, it's the most mysterious organization in all of Magical Europe. Not even people in it know who runs it." He said before winning.

"What's wrong honey?" Poppy asked, having noticed the wince. "Are you getting called back?"

"Yes, It would seem that I have a mission," He said while getting up from his spot at the table. "It was a pleasure to meet you Professor." He said while stretching out his hand.

"Likewise," Minerva said after standing up and shaking his hand. "I'll see you on your first day of school." She said with a smile. 'And hopefully not a moment sooner' She thought to herself as she watched the boy head to the fireplace.

'I wouldn't count on it Professor,' Harry said from inside of her mind as he stepped into the fireplace and vanished.

"What the fuck?!" Minerva yelled as she stared at her fireplace. Never in her life had she ever been that confused nor speech-less. She had experienced many things, but a person talking inside of her head was not one of them.

"Did he talk inside of your mind?" Poppy asked exasperatedly, as though this has happened many times before.

"From your tone I can guess this isn't a one off occurrence, is it?" She asked while sitting back down into her chair.

"No it's not the first time he's done that to someone. I told him not to do that to people and that it's rude," Poppy sighed as she rubbed her face.

"Rude is the nicest thing I would call the stunt he just pulled," Minerva growled while rubbing her eyes. She then drank the rest of her tea cup and sighed. "It would appear we have much to discuss, Poppy." She said while folding her hands on the table and staring directly into the Matron's eyes.

Poppy nodded her head and sighed, knowing that the rest of this conversation was not going to be nearly as pleasant as the beginning part of this meeting. "It would appear we do, Professor,"
