Over the weeks that followed Mackenzie had asked Sam where he lived specifically and he always avoided the question. It was night time. Mackenzie was in Atlanta driving home from the store alone. She spotted Sam in his car going in the opposite direction.

After driving for about ten minutes she saw him park, get out and get in the back seat. Sam was surprised to hear a knock on the back car window. He was even more surprised to see Mackenzie. He rolled down the window.

"Hi." He said.

"Hi." "What are you doing?"

"Nothing."

"You live in your car don't you?"

"Yeah."

"Why?"

"I can't afford to live anywhere right now." "I have all these hospital bills."

"Come on." "You're coming home with me."

"No."

"Yes."

"I can't afford to pay you anything."

"You don't have to."

"I can't just live at your apartment rent free."

"Sure you can."

"Mac, no, it's not right."

"We're friends Sam." "I wanna help you."

"Alex isn't gonna like this."

"You leave him to me."

When Mackenzie got home Alex was confused as to why Sam was with her.

"What's up Sam?" Alex said.

"Not much." Sam said.

"Alex come here." Mackenzie said.

They went into the bedroom and shut the door.

"What is he doing here?" Alex asked.

"He's homeless honey." "He's been living in his car." "He's in debt and can't afford to live anywhere."

"So he's just gonna mooch off of us?"

"We're helping him." "Have a heart Alex." "For me, please."

He sighed. "Ok, but you owe me."

"Thank you." They kissed. "I love you."

"I love you too."
