Chapter Five

She thought she was seeing things because she was sure Bill was lying on the ground with Eric standing over him. "Bill?" She dropped her bag on the ground and rushed over.

Eric got in front of her. "Sookie, no."

"Sookie," Bill called out weakly.

"W-what is going on? That's Bill." She couldn't grasp what she was seeing as she looked around Eric's massive frame.

"Maybe it's not him. He shouldn't be here." Eric looked worried and it made her stomach drop. The last time Bill died and came back to life, he was literally a monster. She stepped back and swallowed hard.

"Please, help me." Bill groaned.

"Sookie you should go back in the house." Eric looked back and forth between them.

"How is he here?" She looked at an unphased Eric. "How are you not freaking out right now?"

"You're doing enough for both of us." He turned and then looked at Bill. "What are you doing here Bill? How did you get here? Why is there blood on you?" Eric partly knew the answer to all of this, but he played it off like he had no clue. He would deal with the aftermath of the consequences later. To say he was a bit freaked out would be an understatement, but he would never allow it to show.

"Please. I think I did something really bad."

"It sounds like Bill." Sookie whispered as Eric looked at her.

"We know how this turned out last time," Eric warned.

"Bill?" Sookie couldn't help herself.

"Sookie." Bill tried to sit up and he fell back. She ran over to him even though Eric tried to stop her.

"Bill? How is this possible? I saw you die. I helped you die." She was in shock as she knelt on the ground next to him.

He reached out and touched her hand and smiled softly. Eric rolled his eyes.

"I don't know. One minute I was gone and then the next I was digging myself out of my own grave."

"You know we don't need to get into specifics. Obviously, you are here now, why?" Eric cut him off.

"Everything is fuzzy." He sat up slowly and looked down at the bullet holes in his shirt and the blood all over him. "What did I do?"

"We need to get you inside." Sookie stood up and helped him.

"What? No." Eric got in front of her. "We don't even know what it is yet."

"It's Bill. I can see it in his eyes."

"Thank you, Sookie." Bill smiled weakly as he hung onto her shoulder.

"Are you going to help me get him inside or what?" She huffed as she tried to hold him up.

"This isn't good." Eric walked around and tossed him effortlessly over his shoulder. Bill groaned in pain.

Sookie quickly got inside as Eric walked up to the door. He put Bill down roughly as he swayed.

"I will get you something to drink. I think I still have a True Blood." She began to walk away as Bill stepped inside without a problem. Eric watched in shock and then tried to step in, but he was blocked.

"Sookie," Eric called out as she stopped in the hallway and looked at him. Her eyes got wide as she saw Bill leaning against the wall, inside her place. She hadn't even invited him in. "Sookie, let me in," Eric yelled anxiously.

"No Sookie, don't." Bill smiled as he stood up straight and cracked his neck as he stretched.

"Bill?"

"Sookie. Invite me in!" Eric yelled but she was transfixed on Bill. Frozen with fear. "Sookie!"

"Enough of you!" Bill put his hand up and the door shut in his face. He could still be heard outside as he pounded on the door. "Now where were we?" Bill sauntered over to her.

A few hours prior...

Bill lay on the metal cot. His body was silvered and chained. His mind racing with thoughts, ones that pained his body more than the silver on him. He watched Lilith's form appear in front of him.

"No, you can't be here." He looked at her with fear.

"We have unfinished business." Her blood-soaked body walked toward him.

"But I died. I wanted to die." His eyes got wide.

"That wasn't your decision to make." She smiled.

"You're not Bill." Sookie stepped back and looked around for a weapon. She was in such shock that she honestly forgot that Eric was trying to beat down her door.

"Why must we do this every time, Sookie? You used to call me, your Bill." He grinned as his fangs descended. She grabbed a nearby lamp and threw it at him as she turned to run but he was there. He had the lamp in his hand still. "Now this isn't the reunion I was expecting." He tossed the lamp across the room, and it crashed to the floor. He smiled and she screamed as he grabbed her.

"Let go of me!" She yelled as she tried to fight against him. A beam of white light shot from her hand and within seconds he was being hurled into the air. It was then that all the other sounds around her came back to life. Eric yelled and pounded on the door. "Eric!" She yelled as Bill got up and dusted himself off. She ran to the door, but Bill was already there as she gasped. She skidded to a halt as she looked at him.

"INVITE ME IN GODDAMN IT!" Eric continued to yell.

"COME..." She yelled out but then Bill had her back to his chest as he covered her mouth.

"Oh, there will be none of that sweetheart."

"Why are you doing this?" Her cries were muffled by his hand.

"Don't worry. I will put you out of your misery." He smiled wickedly.

She was powerless in his strong arms. She couldn't even budge and then he bit her. Like really bit her hard on her neck and she screamed out. Now she was no stranger to being bitten by Bill but this wasn't him. This was Lilith. She knew that version of Bill all too well. She had seen the real Bill for moments before they went inside. His eyes had been softer and more like the Bill she knew.

The pain in her neck began to dissipate as she fell limp in his arms. She was dying, she could feel it. No more pain and no more fear. She felt peaceful and then she saw Eric through the window. He was yelling and pounding on it furiously. For a moment she found it odd that he didn't just come inside then she remembered that she had uninvited him a while ago. Her eyes locked with his and she smiled. "Come in Eric."

Moments later he was barging inside as he slammed into Bill. Sookie's body flew like a rag doll in the air and crashed against the far wall.

Both men jumped up and hissed at each other.

Eric looked back at Sookie. She wasn't moving and he couldn't hear her heartbeat. He looked back at Bill.

"Hey if you want to do this then we can do this." Bill cracked his knuckles. Eric turned from him and rushed over to Sookie. He cradled her in his arms.

"Sookie, wake up." He frantically bit at his wrist and shoved it over her mouth, but she didn't move. "Drink!" He yelled as he held his hand there. "Sookie, goddamn it!" He shook her but she just lay there.

He turned to look at Bill but he was gone. Sookie was dying and he couldn't lose her. He didn't even think as he bit down on her neck and finished draining her. He then force-fed her his blood as he watched her. Nothing happened. "No!" He yelled as blood tears raced down his cheeks. "I won't let you die!" He sliced the entire length of his arm and literally drowned her body in his blood until he was falling onto his side weakly. "Sookie." He pulled her limp form against his body as he cried for the second time in his life.

Pam was at the door less than five minutes later. She gasped at the doorway. "Eric!" She cried out. She had felt his pain. It was unbearable. It felt like he was dying.

"She's gone." He felt numb as he lay there and then she stepped one foot inside. She gasped with wide eyes. Eric watched her as he curled up on his side. Pam had never seen him like that before. It scared her. He was in love with Sookie and that was mind-blowing. She had known him for so long and he never once acted this way. She didn't know what to say. She just stood there. "Go away, Pam." He refused to look at her.

"Eric, please." Pam choked back tears. He may have released her already but that didn't stop the genuine love she had for him. He was literally her best friend.

"I said to fucking leave!" He jumped up and grabbed her by the neck. She gasped in shock but then another sound was heard. They both looked as Sookie groaned. He let go of Pam and rushed over to her.

"Sookie. You're alive." He pulled her against him before she could respond. "I thought you were dead." The emotion pouring out of him was thick.

"I don't feel good. What's happening to me?" She looked at him with fear in her eyes and then she began to cry out as pain coursed through her body. Her body arched and jerked violently as she screamed in pain.

Pam backed up and her eyes got even wider. "What did you do, Eric?" She kept stepping backward.

"She was dying." He looked back at Sookie as she cried out. The change already taking effect. He couldn't even remember what that pain felt like now but watching her writhe in pain while calling out his name tore at him. Watching others in pain never bothered him before. Hell, most of the time he was inflicting it but this was different.

"You have got to be fucking kidding. Now she's a vampire!" Pam yelled out in shock. She honestly thought she had seen it all but obviously not.

"Help me get her in the ground." He lifted her up again. She had gone silent once more."

"You don't have to do this Eric. She's half fairy. It might not even work."

"Will you help me or not Pam!"

"Fuck me!" She huffed. "Fine!"

They brought her back by Fangtasia and dug a hole behind it. The area there was wooded and secluded. It would be the perfect place for them to lay for the night. The full change always took place in the dirt. He climbed into the hole with her as he cradled her body next to his. Pam sighed as she began to cover them with dirt.

"I need you to clean up her place. We can't have her brother asking questions."

"I hate to break it to you Eric, but her brother is going to have more than just questions for you." Pam chucked more dirt on them.

"Just do this for me, please."

"You know I do an awful lot for someone who just released me without a care in the world."

"Do you really want to do this right now?"

"Fine. Whatever. When this backfires, it is on you."

Nearly twenty-four hours later and Eric was pulling himself out of the shallow grave. Sookie was still laying there motionless. He picked her up and looked for any sign of life. She should have woken up by now.

Eric paced in his office. Sookie was laying on the couch. He kept watching her. He had no idea how her being a fairy would affect the change. Part of him was expecting her to explode in front of him as Nora did. It made his stomach turn.

"You need to feed Eric." Pam stood in the doorway with True Blood in her hand.

"She should be waking up soon, right?" He was paler than normal from the blood loss and barely functioning himself, but he couldn't bear to walk away from her. Even with the last bit of her blood racing through his veins, his heart was so heavy with genuine grief that he could barely stand. He grabbed the True Blood from a surprised Pam and he guzzled it.

"Shit, now I have seen everything. You have really lost your fucking mind." Pam shook her head.

"What if it doesn't work? I never changed a fairy before?"

"No shit, Eric. Lord knows what you did to her now." Pam huffed.

"Get Doctor Ludwig. Maybe she will know what to do." He was panicking as he touched Sookie's hand. Why wasn't she waking up?!

"Oh no. I am not interrupting her on Bingo night!" Pam put her hands up.

"Pam, please." He pleaded and she sighed.

"You know we should probably be a bit more concerned as to where Bill is since he decided to become the night of the living dead!"

"I can't lose her. I just can't." He knelt and brushed a piece of her hair from her face.

"This is bullshit!" Pam huffed and then went off to make a phone call.

"You just stay with me Sookie. You just stay with me."

Twenty minutes later Doctor Ludwig came in with her medical bag. "Alright back up. Give me room." She barked angrily. She looked at Eric. "You owe me for this."

"I will pay you double, triple. Please just help her." He stepped back and she sighed dramatically. She pulled out her stethoscope and adjusted it onto her ears.

"How long has she been like this?" She placed the instrument onto her chest and spoke before Eric could. "This girl is dead."

"That's not entirely true," Eric spoke as she looked up at him.

"This is that fairy girl, right?"

"Why isn't she waking up? We slept in a grave. I did all the things." He had never felt so frantic in his life.

"You're shit out of luck. I have no idea what it means." Doctor Ludwig began to grab her things.

"Wait. You can't just leave. You need to help her." Eric pleaded.

"There is no helping that girl. I will send you the bill." She left the room and Eric knelt next to her again.

"Sookie, please. You can't die. I can't lose you." He put his head on her chest and then he felt something. She moved and when he looked down at her, she was staring up at him. Her eyes had taken on a light shade of blue that seemed nearly translucent.

"Eric?" She gasped.

"Sookie. Oh, thank god." He pulled her against his chest as she looked around disoriented. She felt weird and the sounds around her were louder than normal. "You're ok." He touched her face as she took in his disheveled look. He was covered in blood. His clothes were torn and covered in dirt as well as his face. He looked like he had literally climbed out of a grave.

"Where am I? What happened?" She looked around with confusion and then her eyes got wide. "Oh my god, Bill. That wasn't Bill. Where is he?" She panicked as fear raced through her and then she touched her neck where he had bitten her. The wound was gone.

"You're going to be fine. I won't let anything happen to you." Eric tried to reassure her.

"How did I get here? The last thing I remember was..." Her eyes got wide again as flashes of Bill filled her mind. He had attacked her ruthlessly. "Did you save me?"

Before Eric could say anything, Pam walked into the room and rolled her eyes. "Oh look, the littlest vampire is awake."

"Pam, enough," Eric warned her.

"What do you mean, littlest vampire." Sookie laughed nervously as more images passed through her head. She saw Eric fighting with Bill as she lay on the ground.

"You can stay here and try to fight me or have your last few moments with the human."

Everything went black after that.

She looked up at Eric who had the most peculiar look on his face. It was a mix of happiness and weariness. It made her anxious.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" The words squeaked out even as realization began to course through her.

"I'll tell her if you won't." Pam put her hands on her hips.

"You can leave now Pam." Eric narrowed his eyes at her.

"No, I think I would much rather stay. This is about to get really interesting." Pam smirked as Sookie looked between her and Eric. "I think she is starting to finally get it."

"Pam, I said now!" Eric yelled.

"Why do I feel weird? Eric, what is happening?" Sookie panicked.

"You're hungry and that thirst is only going to get worse." Pam raised an eyebrow.

Sookie slowly opened her mouth, revealing two fangs. Her hand moved quickly as she touched one then gasped.

"You were dying." Eric stepped back with a look of shame on his face.

"No this isn't happening." She began to sob and when she wiped her eyes, she saw blood. She stared at her hand in shock.

"I give it five seconds before she has a complete meltdown," Pam smirked and seconds later Sookie was screaming.

Authors note: Yep I went there. Sookie is officially a newbie vampire. God, I would have loved to see this on the show! having Eric sire Sookie would have made awesome tv. Ugh, so much potential. I really hope they either remake or continue the series one day but only if Alexander Skarsgard plays Eric. I honestly don't care who plays the other characters, to be honest. Anywho, Enjoy!
