Sam had now lived with Mackenzie and Alex for three months. He couldn't wait to leave because of Alex. He only had one more bill to pay off, then he would be looking for his own place. They were all backstage. Court came up to Mackenzie and Alex.
"We're breaking up your team." Court said. "You'll be turning on Sam tonight." "I've already told Sam."
After the match, which Sam and Alex lost, Alex attacked Sam. During the attack he once punched Sam in the face for real.
After the show Alex went out once again leaving Mackenzie alone. Mackenzie went to Sam's room and knocked on the door. When he answered it she was surprised to see he had a black eye.
"Oh my god." Mackenzie said shocked. "Did Alex accidentally do that to you?"
"Yeah." He said knowing it wasn't an accident
"I saw a diner down the road" "Wanna walk there with me and go get something to eat."
"I'll walk there with you but I can't afford to buy anything."
"I'll buy you something."
"No."
"Yes." "It's no big deal."
They were at the diner. Mackenzie had bought them each a cheeseburger and fries.
"I won't be staying with you guys for much longer." Sam said. "Another month at the most."
"You know you can stay with us for as long as you need to."
"I'm almost done paying off my bills."
"Well there's no need to rush."
"I'm sure Alex would like the apartment back to yourselves."
"He doesn't care."
A week later Mackenzie, Alex and Sam were at the apartment. Sam's bruise was now yellow.
"Baby, when are you making dinner?" Alex asked. "I'm starving."
Something inside Sam snapped, he couldn't take Alex's treatment towards Mackenzie anymore.
"Hey Alex, why don't you get off your lazy ass and make Mackenzie something for once?" Sam said.
"Excuse me?" Alex said surprised.
"You heard me."
"I don't know how to cook."
"Do you not know how to clean the house, or help Mackenzie with the laundry, especially when she's injured?"
"You know what, get the fuck out."
"Gladly." Sam got up and started gathering up his things.
"Wait everyone stop." Mackenzie said.
"No I'm leaving."
"Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out." Alex said. Sam left. Alex looked at Mackenzie. "I don't want you to hang out with him anymore."
"He's my friend Alex."
"Not anymore."
"Ok."
"I'm going out." He got his keys and left.
Five minutes later Mackenzie left. She went to the place where Sam was parked before. He was parked there. She saw he was in the driver's seat. She got out of her car and knocked on the window. He let the window down.
"Can I get in?" She asked.
"Yeah." He unlocked the doors. She got in the passenger side.
"What was that about?"
"I just got sick of him treating you that way." "You don't deserve that."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Yes you do." "You just deny it for some reason."
"I love him." "I can probably smooth things over."
"No." "I'm not going back."
"I don't want you to be out here by yourself."
"I can take care of myself."
"This is the last time we can talk." "Alex doesn't want us to be friends anymore."
"And you're just gonna let him order you around?"
"I don't want him to be uncomfortable."
"So you want to quit hanging out?"
"No."
"Then he's making you do something you don't want to."
"I'd do anything for him."
"When will he start doing things for you?" "When will he put you first?" "That's what you deserve." "You're amaz- He stopped. She looked at him. "I just really care about you." He leaned over and kissed her. She knew she should stop him but it felt nice. After a few seconds she started kissing him him back. After about twenty seconds she snapped out of it and broke the kiss.
"Oh my god." She said shocked. "What the hell did we just do?" "I have to go Sam."
"Don't Mackenzie." "Stay."
"I can't."
"Yes you can."
"I can't because I think you want to have sex, and I kind of do to.." "I can't do that to Alex." "He would never cheat on me." "I'm sorry." She got out of the car, got into her car and left.
Sam was even more confused about why Mackenzie was with Alex.
