After a few tries the girls finally make it to the door. They come out into the backyard. They were taken aback at the fact that they were children again.

"Ladybug, the pink in your hair it's gone." Melinda said.

"What really?"

Just then Paige walked out, "Okay girls be good and stay out here or if you get too hot join Chris and Wyatt who are in the living room playing video games."

"Um okay why do we have to stay out here?" P.J. asked confused as to why they were being told to stay outside.

"Your mom is going to give birth soon. Then you'll have a new little sister. Your mom and Wyatt were also born in the manor. So no need to worry."

After Paige left the girls heard a sound and went to investigate. There in the shadow of a tree, they saw several trolls beating a couple of fairies. Then tried to take one away.

P.J. tried to beam the fairy to her but it didn't work. "What? I can't use my powers. Mel, try yours."

"What's going on? I can't use mine either."

Seeing as for some reason their powers weren't working the girls threw rocks at the trolls to get him to drop the one they were carrying.

P.J. picked up two and Melinda picked up one.

Just then they were attacked by trolls. They swarmed P.J. forcing her to slam to the ground hitting her head trying to get to one of the fairies she was holding.

Melinda managed to throw the few that were on her off. She saw them turn to stone from the light. That told her what to do. She ran over and laid her fairy on P.J.'s chest then did her best to drag her cousin into the light. She was afraid to leave her and get her brother's or someone else to help.

"Ladybug, are you okay? I should go get Aunt Paige or mom." Melinda said.

The fairy that Melinda had been holding weakly flew over to the other two P.J. was holding. Then he flew up into Melinda's hands, "Greetings I am Aricox. Now that your world has been thrown into chaos and your family no longer has magic, there's nothing any of us can do to save either of them."

"What? What do you mean the world is in chaos? Is that why we can't use our magic? Are you saying no one has any magic?"

"I am afraid it's true. I don't know a lot of details we try to keep clear of mortal magic matters."

"What do you know?"

"All I know is a Dark Lighter named Rennek was somehow able to throw the world into chaos by giving all magical beings powers to mortals."

"How? I wouldn't have thought dark lighters could have such abilities, why did he do it?"

"I'm not sure how. Again we try to avoid getting involved. As for why, it was revenge against your father."

"But my father's a mortal now. Revenge for what?"

"Matters not to him, he was fueled by revenge. Revenge for what I don't know. It didn't concern us so we didn't bother to look into his motives."

"What can we do then?"

"Our queen is too badly injured to survive. She is thankful for your help. Please place her on your cousin's head. She can use the last of her power to help her. Please tell Phoebe that this is Queen Thistle's thanks for saving her years ago."

Melinda nodded crying and did as she was asked. Picking up both fairies and laying the one Aricox indicated onto P.J.'s head. A few moments later the fairy Queen was gone and Melinda saw the streak of pink form in P.J.'s hair.

The other fairy Melinda was holding looked up and said, "Thank you for trying to save our queen. I'm sorry we couldn't have met sooner and become friends. But please remember me. My name is Lilly." Then Melinda held her close to her chest sobbing as she too passed away.

Other fairies appeared and brought an object forward; it was a small red crystal that soon cracked open above Melinda's head. She felt something and reached up but felt nothing but a strange feeling.

"When the world turns right again and you regain your magic you will find that you now have the ability to handle pain much greater than normal. You will have to train to enhance it but you will also gain the power to breathe underwater for long stretches of time without coming up for air. That is our gift to you."

Melinda sniffed, "Thank you, but what about Ladybug?"

"She too with training will gain the power of Aligist."

"What's that?"

"Someone who can understand all languages. She will also inherit a fairy ability that will enhance her cupid powers."

"Really?"

Aricox nodded, "She will be able to control the thoughts, memories and dreams of other people. She cannot force something against the person's will but can help with leading a couple to their true love."

Just then Paige came out and saw P.J. on the ground ran over to her and picked her up into her arms. She sawAricox and to Melinda's surprise could see him. "What happened?"

"She tried to save Queen Thistle. But the trolls had already badly injured her. I as her king honored her dying wish to save Phoebe's daughter. As long as she remains good and innocent she will never lose her powers or the pink that is now a permanent reminder of Queen Thistle's as well as her brave sacrifice."

Just then P.J. came to, "What happened?"

Melinda hugged her crying, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah why? What happened to the trolls and the fairies?"

"It's okay now Ladybug. You'll be fine. Let's go inside and you can see your new sister."

The girls followed Paige but as they went through the door they were back in the real world.

"Did you find the answers that you seek?"Enola asked.

"No, nothing." P.J. said.

"Thank you for your help." Melinda said.

"What help?"

"Let's go."

P.J. wasn't happy but beamed them to the bridge. "Well that was a waste of time."

"Actually it wasn't a total waste."

"What do you mean 'not a total waste'? No sooner than we got there we were attacked and then nothing. The world goes dark."

Melinda then explained that had happened and everything she had learned.
