Chapter 2
Also, please review, but it's okay if you don't want to.
2/8- Update
Ketchum residence
"My word. This man sure has an appetite." Thought Delia Ketchum as their newest guest came to the marquee that was set up for Ash's celebratory party with a massive plate of food that rivaled her son's own plate of food. After arriving, the man asked Delia if he can help himself to some food. When she said yes, the man made a beeline for the house and came out with a massive plate of food, rivaling her son's own plate along with that girl May from Hoenn. Smiling as the man took a seat far away from everyone else, Delia soon spoke up.
"So, forgive me Mister, but can you explain to us what this tournament the League is setting up?" Asked Delia as she saw everyone looking at the man, who hadn't yet taken off his strange attire and mask. And by strange, she meant how inappropriate it was for a party with how uncomfortable it all looked.
It was a formfitting suit of heavy black clothing and pauldrons that complemented the mask and black hood he wore. A scary attire to wear at a party and would be something that Delia wouldn't have allowed if it weren't for the fact that the man just randomly showed up and told them about a tournament being put in place by the Pokemon League. And knowing her son, he'll jump at the prospect of joining a new tournament so she can't just ask him to leave or change attire. Plus, she had to admit, there was something about the man's behavior that reminded her of her son. In that, he was completely ignorant of social functions and modicum, but in a way that was endearing and not offensive. So, she allowed him to stay. She just hoped that she wouldn't regret it.
"I'll get right on that, but first, food." Said the man as he looked at the food before him. It all smelled and looked good and he couldn't resist. "I'm sorry, but I can't help myself. I've been on rations since I got to Kanto and I can't resist some actually good grub."
"Well, eat as much as you want, there's plenty of food for everyone." Said Delia as her sweat dropped. At the same time, Iris pouted.
"First this guy crashes the party and he hoards our food." Said Iris, annoyed while she and everyone else were around Ash and Delia. "What a jerk! And a kid!"
"Now. Now, Iris." Said Cilan as he looked at his friend. It's been so long since he'd seen her and he can see that she hasn't changed much. "First appearances can be deceiving. Remember how you first met Ash?" Iris just pouted at that before looking back at the man. She then openly gapped when she saw that his plate was entirely empty. Nothing. Not even a crumb was found on the whipped-clean plate.
"What!?" Yelled Iris as she ran to the plate to see if her eyes were deceiving her. When she saw that they weren't, she looked at the man in astonishment. "How!? How did you eat all that food!?" She then looked at everyone and saw they were shocked as well. Everyone was stunned beyond belief at what they had missed. Everyone had been either looking at Iris for what she said or somewhere else. That prevented them from seeing the new arrival eating his food.
Seeing everyone looking at him with varying degrees of disbelief and shock, the man coughed a bit before speaking.
"Sorry about that, but I couldn't resist." Said the man before getting back to business and adopting a professional tone for them. "Anyway, back to business. Ash Ketchum." The man then turned to the boy that had become the first Alola champion, gaping at the man eating so much food in one bite. Once the boy recovered along with some of his friends, he continued. "As you know, you're invited to the first cross-regional tournament in years. It's going to be a prestigious tournament that has Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos…basically all the regions that the Pokemon league has authority in. But unlike the tournaments and conferences from before you participated in before, this one will be special." Upon hearing all that, Ash tilted his head at that.
"And what makes it special?" Asked Ash as his curiosity was piqued when the man said about this tournament was different from those he participated in already. He had already decided to participate in this tournament, but when he heard that it was unique over the rest that he participated in, it made him curious. Still, whatever the tournament was, he was going to join and win it. It sounded like fun and Ash was all about having fun in his journeys while also focusing on winning whatever tournaments or leagues he participates in. It wasn't like he was going to participate in a League anyway. All the regions had their regional Leagues and conferences take a break for the year. Because a lot of Gym Leaders and Trainers participated in the World Coronation Series every time it occurs, the Pokemon League had decided to cancel any regional League tournaments and conferences so people can actually participate in it and then a few or so months after it ended to give everyone a break or to catch new Pokemon. So, Ash was just going around catching new Pokemon and exploring the world. It was actually quite refreshing to do so, actually. But if this tournament is going to occur, then Ash was going to participate in it.
"Well, you'll be pleasantly surprised to hear that this tournament is going to be a team-based tournament rather than the typical individual-based tournaments that are commonly found across the regions." Said the man, causing gasps of shock to permeate through the group of young men and women.
"A team-based tournament?" Asked May in surprise but also excitement.
"And it's all across the regions?" Asked Max, surprised as well but also curious and excited at the prospect of a team-based tournament. Even more so if he gets to travel with his old friends, Ash and Brock, again.
"Correct." Said the man before explaining further. "You see. In the Pokemon leagues, we have trainers fight against one another in the conferences or against Gym Leaders. Same with contests. The idea of those is to ensure not only self-sufficiency in trainers, though it's perfectly fine for trainers to travel and work together for each other goals so long as they understand that they'll be rivals when the conferences or grand festivals start, but also to help forge the bonds between trainers and their Pokemon. To help each other understand that humans and Pokemon need to work together in order to achieve their life goals. And also to show the beauty of the Pokemon world and the beauty of the human world as well. That's what they tell me anyway. This tournament, however, is a bit different." The man took a breath before continuing.
"While this tournament shares similar purposes as the Pokemon Leagues and Contests, it also has the purpose of helping forge the bonds between different trainers and their own Pokemon. To have them all working towards a common goal and unite to achieve it. I believe you have some understanding of this, Ash Ketchum. Along with your friends."
"I get it." Said Max as he adjusted his glasses while everyone was seeing what the man was saying. "So, unlike the Pokemon Leagues or Contests across the regions, where they have Trainers or Coordinators competing against each other, this tournament has them working together with their Pokemon to do something. Right?"
"Correct. That thing is three things actually." Said the man before bringing out a flier from his person and showing it to everyone. On the flier was a bunch of Pokemon divided into four sections. One focusing on battling. One had them looking as good as possible. The third had them wearing a dress. And the fourth had a combination of the first three together. "Working in conjunction with the Pokemon Contest Committee, this tournament will not only have a section dedicated to regular battling but also have sections dedicated to Contests and Performances." Upon hearing all that, everyone gasped out loud.
"My word." Said Cilan as he processed all this. "Talking about an assortment of flavors melded into one tournament."
"No kidding." Said Clemont as he pondered this. "That is certainly ambitious, sir."
"Indeed." Said the man before handing the flier as well as the envelope he pulled out to Ash, who took them with awe and excitement. "It'll be the most ambitious tournament that the League has ever done, surpassing even the last cross-regional tournament we did long ago. Unfortunately, I can't divulge the exact details of how this will all work right now. The League desires to keep the information confidential until the official announcement of the tournament begins. Fortunately, that won't be long. It'll be broadcasted throughout the region's next work. I, along with a handful of others, were sent to inform ahead of time those the League desire to participate in this tournament. Mostly those that ranked highly in previous League Conferences or Grand Festivals." He then turned to May and Dawn. "In fact, I was assigned to give Miss Maple and Miss Berlitz their own invitations to this tournament after I gave Mr. Ketchum his own. But since they're here, may as well give them their invites now." He then pulled out two more envelopes from his person and handed them to May and Dawn, who took them without delay.
"Wow." Said Dawn as she looked at her invite in surprise. "This is amazing. I can't believe I qualify enough to receive a personnel invitation."
"Yeah, same." Said May in awe. "I participated in a handful of Grand Festivals over the years, but I never won any of them. I didn't think I would get something like this. Ash I get, but never me."
"Just the fact alone that you two participated in Grand Festivals and ranked highly in them is enough for the League." Said the man, catching their attention. "We're not just looking for winners of Conferences or Grand Festival, ladies. The League is opening this tournament to trainers of all shapes and sizes. Even the most recent trainers can participate in this tournament if they wish, though we recommend they pair up with several experienced trainers before participating in this tournament. For reasons I can't divulge yet, though I suspect you'll learn soon. Anyway, the announcement will be featured in all Pokemon-related news channels. That means you'll all see them no matter what region you're in. If there are no more questions, then I'd like to speak to the people that received their invites regarding a demonstration of the opposition you're to face in the tournament." Upon seeing no one was protesting or raising their hands to ask a question, the man spoke up again.
"Good." Said the man before addressing Dawn, Iris, and May about what he also came here to do. "First off, I need you all to bring your strongest Pokemon to Professor Oak. We're going to have a three versus-one battle with you three against me in a Pokemon battle. To demonstrate the tournament rules for you all and to demonstrate what you're supposed to do with your team." Upon hearing that, everyone gasped out in shock.
"A three v one battle!?" Yelled Clemont in shock. Those were battles that were done only in battle clubs or for fun. To have one for a tournament was unthinkable due to its unfairness of it.
"I've only seen those on T.V.!" Yelled Max as he looked at the man in shock.
"What's the point in doing a Pokemon battle where you have to face three opponents at once!?" Asked Serena, wondering how this was a fair demonstration.
"You'll all have to see it to believe it." Said the man as he looked at the shocked expression of everyone. "Believe me, you will not believe what is going on until you all see it for yourselves. So please, once you're all done celebrating, please visit Professor Oak's laboratory so we can start the demonstration." With that, the man excused himself and began to leave for Professor Oak's laboratory. While on his way out, the man passed Delia and handed her some money. "For the food. Sorry for intruding and potentially ruining your festivities."
"Oh, you don't need to do that!" Said Delia in shock, surprised by the man's generosity. "It's no trouble. Really."
"I insist." Said the man. "Trust me, the demonstration that I'm asking your son will be quite shocking to you all." With that, he left, leaving everyone stunned.
"What just happened!?" Demanded Iris as she came to. "First this guy comes, crashing our party. Then he eats our food. And then he tells us about a super tournament across the regions and he just leaves, telling us that he's going to face three of us in a three versus one battle! What's going on!?"
"That is honestly a good question, Iris." Said Cilan as he too processed what just occurred. "In either case, I think we got ourselves a brand-new flavor approaching. One that has never before been tasted before!"
"Ehh…what?" Asked Serena as she looked at Cilan, wondering what he meant.
"I think he means that we're about to see something completely new and he has no idea if it's good or bad." Said Clemont as he processed what Cilan just said.
"More or less." Said Cilan as he clutched his chin. "In either case, our food is starting to get cold. We better eat it before it gets all cold." Upon hearing that, everyone started to dine in on their food and congratulate Ash on his victory in Alola. As they were eating and playing around, however, they had that strange man on their mind as well as the upcoming battle. He claimed that it was meant to show the tournament rules, but everyone was wondering how a three versus one was meant to show that.
Few hours later
Professor Oak's laboratory
"Certainly took your sweet time!" Yelled a woman with light brown hair and blue eyes as she glared at Ash, his friends, and his mother as they made it to Professor Oak's laboratory after they finished celebrating Ash's victory in Alola. To their surprise, they saw a camera crew and two women waiting for them. "Do you have any idea how long we had to wait for this!?" Everyone just gasped in shock when they saw the woman. She wore a yellow dress jacket, whose folded collar showed that the jacket was white in its interior. The woman also had a pink shirt underneath the jacket as well. Matching the jacket was a matching yellow business skirt that went well with her yellow boots. Upon seeing the woman, Dawn let out a gasp.
"Rhonda!" Yelled Dawn as she saw the woman, her shock bigger than everyone else's. Rhonda was the hostess of the most popular T.V. show in the Sinnoh region, Sinnoh Now. "What are you doing in Kanto!?"
"Yeah, Kanto is a fair bit away from the Sinnoh region." Said Brock as he saw the news reporter from Sinnoh that for some reason kept getting hit in the head by her boom mike operator whenever he, Dawn, and Ash saw her. "Any reason you're here?"
"Same reason, I'm here." Said another woman as she walked past Rhonda to greet everyone with a smile. This woman wore a short-sleeved blouse that was black starting at around the upper half of her chest and the sleeves while the rest of the blouse was red. The large, popped collar of the blouse and its cuffs were white and it was cut low enough to show some parts of her upper chest and some cleavage. The woman also wore long, tight, and gray pants along with fashionable, brown ankle boots with small heels on them. Finally, she had a thick black belt around her waist with a large metal clasp attached to a large bag that rested on her posterior. Upon seeing the woman, Ash let out a smile.
"Alexa!" Yelled Ash as he saw the young woman she smiled at Ash and those that he had traveled with in Unova and Kalos. "What are you doing here?"
"Same as Rhonda from Sinnoh." Said Alexa with a smile while Rhonda pouted angrily. "The Pokemon League hired reporters and journalists all over the regions to record their demonstration battles with some of the toughest trainers and coordinators they could find. It's to serve as both promotion for their new tournament as well as to show people that this tournament isn't like anything else they've done."
"Really?" Asked Max upon hearing that. "Man, they're really pulling all the stops for this tournament."
"Oh, you betcha." Said Rhona, butting into the conversation with a smile. "And there was no way I'm to ignore a chance to record the first Alolan champion in action in a demonstration battle for this new tournament the League of putting up. So when I heard you were amongst those being interviewed, I fought tooth and nail to get this position and I'm not going to lose it to some two-bit journalist bimbo from Kalos. So please, interview with me first over this bimbo that doesn't know how to wear a proper shirt while working." Alexa's eyes twitched at the insults but otherwise, she remained civil. Her Pokemon, however, weren't so civil.
Her partner and portable battery recharger Pokemon, Helioptile, glared at Rhonda before unleashing an electric attack on her, causing her to scream in pain as Helioptile attacked. Crashing to the ground when Helioptile finished, Rhonda groaned as Alexa gasped in shock.
"Helioptile, don't do that." Scolded Alexa as she looked at her partner while he looked at her. Seeing the shock and disappointment on his owner's face, Helioptile looked to the ground in shame, causing Alexa to sigh. "Helioptile, I know you're looking out for me, but you shouldn't go zapping anyone that insults me. I can take it stuff like that." While Alexa scratched Helioptile behind his ears, Rhonda recovered and glared at Alexa.
"Keep that damn Helioptile from electrocuting me when we start filming!" Yelled Rhonda before marching over to her reporter crew, grumbling all the way. Sighing at the woman, Alexa looked at the kids, and Delia, who sweated dropped at the Sinnoh woman's temper.
"Sorry about that." Said Alexa. "Helioptile doesn't like Rhonda. After she accidentally kicked Helioptile when we got here, he's been nasty around her. It doesn't help that she yells and insults me while we're waiting for you because we're both supposed to record your battle and interview you, Ash."
"Gee, really, Alexa? I'm sorry." Said Ash as he looked at his friend. "If we knew, we would have gotten here sooner."
"I'm sorry too." Said Dawn, shocked at Rhonda's behavior. "On behalf of Sinnoh, I'm really sorry."
"No. No need to apologize." Said Alexa with a smile. "I've met Rhonda a few times before when I was out in Sinnoh. She yells and says things, sure, but she's honestly quite pleasant to be around. She just doesn't like competition. It also doesn't help that she found out that her crew wasn't prepared for this at all. Between her mike operator constantly hitting her head for some reason and the camera guy not having batteries in the camera for some reason as well, I can see why she's so grouchy today. I would be pretty miffed as well if all that happened to me. Especially with how big this is. I mean, we're not only recording a champion, the first champion of a region to boot, fight to promote a brand new tournament, but it's a brand new tournament with some new fancy rules as well. So, I can see why Rhonda is extra grouchy today."
"Wow." Said Misty as she heard all this. "You're quite cool-headed. I would've strangled her if she said those things to me." Alexa just chuckled at that.
"You're too kind." Said Alexa before looking at Ash. "Anyway, Ash. Once this is all over, you're okay with an interview? I don't mean to be rude, but interviewing the Monarch is a Pokemon journalist's dream. Can I?" Upon hearing that, Ash just smiled.
"Of course, Alexa. Anything for my friends." Said Ash. Alexa giggled a bit at that and was about to speak when the man that crashed Ash's party came out of Oak's laboratory and spoke.
"I'm glad to see you're here, Ash, Dawn, and May. Same with your friends." Said the man as he looked at everyone while rubbing the back of his hooded head. "Now, shall we get this over with? Professor Oak has told me that your Pokemon can be rather…excitable when they see their trainer again. And as much as I love to see Pokemon love their trainers, I'm on a time clock sorry to say. Plus, I feel like this battle needs to occur soon. Otherwise, we'll all get too exhausted to think clearly. The sun is already coming down, after all."
"Yeah, I can see that." Said Ash as he scratched his head. "Okay, let me calm them down first, and then we can do our battle. Okay?"
"I thank you." Said the man with a nod. As Ash left to go calm down his Pokemon, the man suddenly received an up-close glare from Rhonda.
"Oh much longer do I have to wait!?" Yelled Rhonda as she glared at the man. "This was supposed to be done hours ago!"
"It'll be occurring soon." Said the man as he took a step back from Rhonda. No one can see it, but he was sweat-dropping behind his mask. "And what are you complaining about? You're getting paid by the minute. Good money too."
"The money doesn't mean anything if I don't get a good story to go with it!" Screeched Rhonda as she was suddenly hit in the head by her mike operator, Jack, who swung it at her by accident, knocking her out. Seeing this, the man and everyone else looked at Jack, who gulped at what he just did. Again.
"How do you still have this job?" Asked the man as he looked at Jack, who just chuckled sheepishly.
Later
Ranch
"Finally!" Yelled Rhonda as her film crew started to get ready for what they came to do. This time all prepared and ready to roll. "It's about time." As Rhonda began to put on her show face, Alexa sighed as she also prepared her own equipment.
It had been some time, but after some time of calming a horde of Pokemon, mainly Tauros, the back of the ranch was ready to be used as a battlefield. They could have used the makeshift battlefield on the side of Professor Oak's laboratory for the battle, but the man from the Pokemon League denied it, saying he didn't want to risk damaging his property and his research with the demonstration battle.
As said before, the battle was a three versus one with Dawn, May, and Iris facing the man from the Pokemon League, still wearing the attire from before. Off to the side, everyone else was either observing or preparing to film the entire thing.
"Oh man, this is so exciting. I'm going to be seeing an actual three v. one match in person." Said Max as everyone stood at the sidelines, waiting for the battle to start.
"I'm still quite nervous about this demonstration battle." Said Cilan as he clutched his chin in contemplation. "Both for the seeming unfairness of it as well as the potential difficulty of this tournament."
"What do you mean?" Asked Bonnie as she looked at the green-haired Gym Leader from Unova, her Dedenne asking the same question in Poke talk.
"Well, if the man from the Pokemon League wins despite the odds, it really shows you the stakes and difficulty of this tournament." Said Cilan. "At the same time, I fear that the Pokemon League really overestimated the power of certain trainers."
"Iris is a champion." Said Bonnie as she tilted her head in confusion. "Of course, the Pokemon League is going to overestimate some trainers if they're allowing people like Iris and Ash participate."
"I think what Cilan is saying is he's worried they reserved this for experienced trainers only and not recent and those that don't have too much experience to really qualify for this tournament." Said Clemont as he explained. "I must concur with his worries too. This demonstration battle will really set what we should expect out of this tournament. Especially with the rules, he gave us for this battle." While everyone nodded their heads in agreement, Brock stood at attention on the sidelines, having decided to be the referee for it. Seeing this, Rhonda and Alexa gave commentary while filming.
"Alright, the demonstration battle featuring the Unova Champion and two Pokemon Coordinators is beginning." Said Rhonda as she eyed the battle with determination. "This battle is to showcase what trainers will come to expect from this new tournament that the Pokemon League has planned for the future. Hopefully, the Unova champ and her allies can overcome whatever challenges that the Pokemon League has in store for them." While Rhonda and Alexa were saying their commentary, Brock began speaking.
"Alright, as stated before, this will be a three versus one match." Said Brock as he remembered what the man said to be prior to them setting all this up. "Each side will use one Pokemon each. The side that loses all their Pokemon first will lose. Is everyone ready?"
"Ready!" Yelled Iris, Dawn, and May as they prepared their Pokeballs. The man has asked them to use their strongest Pokemon, assuring them his own can handle it. After some reluctance from May, they agreed and readied their Pokemon for battle.
"Ready." Said the man as he readied his own Pokeball.
"Then begin." Said Brock as he signaled the battle. Upon the battle starts, May, Dawn, and Ash sent out their Pokemon.
"Mamoswine, spotlight!" Yelled Dawn as her most powerful Pokemon materialized and roared out a challenge. For Dawn, it was a no-brainer on who to choose for a battle. Piplup, her starter, protested this, but Dawn pacified him with Poffins, to which calmed down the Penguin Pokemon.
"Blaziken, on stage!" Yelled May as her starter and powerhouse appeared, roaring out as it prepared for battle. As with Dawn, May's chosen Pokemon was also a no-brainer as well. Blaziken was her most powerful Pokemon in terms of raw strength and power. In a regular battle, Blaziken was unmatched.
"Haxorus, come on out!" Yelled Iris as she brought out her strongest Pokemon and closest friend. Haxorus roared out as it came out its Pokeball, eager to fight for his trainer once again.
Upon seeing the three Pokemon he was facing, the man from the Pokemon League gave a nod of respect to his opponents before sending out his own Pokemon. This will be a shock to everyone.
"Aggron! Prepare for battle!" Yelled the man as he sent out his chosen Pokemon. When the Pokemon materialized, everyone gasped out in shock and disbelief. Even the Pokemon took a step back at the sight of the Iron Armor Pokemon that was Aggron.
While it looked like any other Aggron at first glance, this Aggron was substantially different in appearance. Mainly its size.
The thing was easily over twice the size of a regular Aggron. Its armored body was also more scarred than any other Aggron that anyone has ever seen. Dull scars were littered all over the body of Aggron with pieces of its armor missing as well. It even had a nasty gorge near the armor plating above its right eye. And its eyes. Its eyes showed the eyes of a warrior as it glared at the three opponents before it. Growling, Aggron readied itself for battle.
"Look at the size of that Aggron!" Yelled Clemont as he adjusted his glasses to see if they aren't deceiving him. He had never seen an Aggron of that size before. He didn't even think they could get to that size without gigantamaxing.
"It's huge!" Yelled Max and Bonnie as they saw the big Aggron, amazed and impressed with its size.
"And its eyes and the scaring around its body." Said Cilan as he observed the Aggron, evaluating the clearly powerful and battle-hardened Pokemon. "This is clearly a high-level Aggron. One that's seen nonstop battling recently and in the past."
"No kidding." Said Serena as she eyed Iris, May, and Dawn nervously. At first, she was confident at them winning this battle. Now, after seeing that Aggron, she wasn't so sure now.
"My word!" Yelled Rhonda after recovering from seeing such an Aggron. "In a startling turn of events, the Pokemon League employee has brought out a one-of-a-kind Aggron! Its sheer size and looks can intimidate even the toughest of opponents. Will the opposing side back out? Let's find out."
"No way, Rhonda." Said Ash upon hearing that. He then looked at Aggron and gave it a smirk "I know my friends. Their not going to give up without at least fighting that Aggron at least once. They're going to give it their all and even if they lose, they're going to train and beat that Aggron in a rematch! I know it!"
"Ash." Said Dawn with a smile as her heart fluttered at Ash's kind words. She then looked at the Pokemon Agent with her usual confident smile. Hearing Ash being confident for her really upped her spirit and she was ready for a fight.
"Yeah!" Yelled May, also having her confidence boosted thanks to Ash. "You got a big and scary Aggron, sure, but that doesn't mean anything. We're going to beat it and show that there's nothing to worry about in this new tournament."
"Same here!" Yelled Iris with a smirk. "I was going to fight anyway if these two weren't going to! I'm the Unova champion after all! I'll never hear the end of it if people learned I backed down from a fight just because of seeing a larger than average Aggron! I'll never be taken seriously again!"
"Hmph. I really admire that fighting spirit." Said the man with a smile behind his mask. "That's what I come to expect from you three. Charles Goodshow really knew what he was doing when he picked you three." The man said the last sentence in a whisper so that no one can hear it. "Anyway, let's get moving! You three got the first move!"
"Alright! Blaziken! Blaze Kick!" Yelled May. Blaziken let out a roar before charging at Aggron. Jumping after a fair distance, Blaziken gathered fire in his right left before extending it out to hit Aggron's head.
"May, you made a grave mistake." Said the man before ordering his Aggron. "Aggron! Tilt to the left just as Blaziken is about to make contact then grab it by the neck. Then slam it to the ground before tossing it into the air!"
"What?!" Yelled May in shock as Aggron tilted to the left a good bit, causing it to miss just. As Blaziken was shocked at this, Aggron grabbed Blaziken by the neck and slammed it to the ground, creating a crevice.
"Blaziken!" Yelled May out in horror as her starter was thrown into the air. Seeing this Dawn and Iris tried to get their Pokemon to help Blaziken out but it was too late. As they were giving their Pokemon instructions, the man from the Pokemon League already issued his commands.
"Flash Cannon!" Yelled the man. Quicker than an Aggron should be, the man's Aggron fired a powerful flash cannon at Blaziken before it could react. The attack hit and sent Blaziken falling to the ground. When it reached the ground, sending a dust cloud everywhere. May yelled out for her Blaziken in concern when she saw this, hoping that her Pokemon was fine and can still battle. When the dust settled, however, everyone saw that Blaziken had swirls for eyes, knocking it and May out of the battle.
"No way!" Yelled Iris, stunned at how fast Blaziken was taken out.
"It can't be!" Yelled Dawn in shock while her Mamoswine looked astounded. This Aggron was clearly no slouch. It was clearly more powerful than the Aggron it faced long ago when he was disobedient to Dawn. That Aggron was nothing to him now. A pushover not worth his time. But this one. This one was making him second guess fighting against it. To think there was an Aggron this strong out there.
"Blaziken got taken out in a single hit!" Yelled Alexa as she saw this, disbelief clear on her face, that a fully evolved Pokemon was taken out by a single attack. Her Helioptile, meanwhile, was hiding behind her, fear in its eyes as it looked at the Aggron. It was scared that it'll go after it next.
"Remarkable!" Yelled Rhonda, disbelief also on her face. While everyone else was looking at the knocked-out Blaziken in shock, Rhonda was giving out commentary. "In just one move, Aggron took out the powerful Blaziken, showcasing its power and speed! Can Ash and Dawn avenge their comrade against this powerful Aggron? Or will they get knocked out in a single hit too!" While everyone else was recovering from this turn of events, the man from the Pokemon league looked at Dawn and Iris while May returned her Blaziken.
"Well, shall we resume?" Asked the man as everyone turned to him and his Aggron, who let out a roar as he glared at Haxorus and Mamoswine, eager to fight them.
