Britt noticed a note on the table addressed to Alex. She went back out and up to Alex.

"Mackenzie's gone." She whispered.

"What?" He whispered back. "What do you mean she's gone?"

"I mean she left." "She's not here."

"How can she leave?" "She came with you."

"I know but she's not here." "There's a note for you back in the dressing room."

Alex went to the back dressing room and picked up the note. It read.

Dear Alex,

I promise we'll talk about this in person soon. I just can't right now. This isn't easy to admit, but I've fallen in love with someone else. I'm so sorry. I hope one day you can forgive me. – Mackenzie

Alex was hurt and angry. He went back out to where everyone was.

"Everyone go home." He said. "The wedding is off." He went outside.

Britt called Sam.

"Hello?" He said.

"Have you heard from Mackenzie?" She asked.

"No why?"

"There wasn't a wedding." "She left the church." "We can't find her."

"I'll let you know if I heard from her."

At around nine o'clock that night there was a knock at Sam's door. He opened it and Mackenzie was standing there. She went inside they hugged.

"I didn't marry Alex." She said tearfully. They were still holding onto each other. "I couldn't." She looked at him. "I couldn't because, I'm in love with you."

He smiled. "You love me?" Finally hearing her say it made him so happy.

"Yes, I love you Sam." They kissed.

"Say it again."

"I love you."

"I love you too." They kissed. He lifted up off the ground and they went up to the bedroom.

They were laying in bed. Sam could tell Mackenzie was in deep thought about something.

"I'm just thinking of the aftermath of this."

"Us being together and happy?"

"Not that part." "I left my ex-fiancée at the altar." "That is going to spread over social media like wildfire." "Especially if everyone finds out we were having an affair."

"Who's gonna tell them?"

"Alex might." "When I talk to him I'm confessing everything." "He's really not gonna like that I left him for you." "He doesn't like you to begin with."

"I know." "I don't like them either, not just because of you." "I've never liked him." "I could give a fuck what anyone thinks." "I love you and that's all that matters."

"I love you too." They kissed.
